Abstract
Description
Method and system for providing a hologram viewer for hologram market consumers.
[0001] The present invention relates to a technology to support a hologram market, and more particularly, to a method and system for providing a hologram to be recorded to a viewer so that the hologram can be edited before recording the hologram to be purchased on a hologram film.
[0002] Hologram online markets record holographic content purchased online by consumers onto holographic film using a hologram printer and deliver it to the consumers. Figure 1 illustrates a hologram sales page of a hologram online market.
[0003] As shown in Figure 1, editing holographic content is not possible when purchasing a hologram. Furthermore, because the holographic content sold in conventional online hologram markets is pre-defined, consumers cannot create their own holograms of desired content.
[0004] Therefore, to respect consumer choice, measures are needed to ease restrictions on holographic content that can be sold and to allow free editing.
[0005] The present invention has been devised to solve the above problems, and the purpose of the present invention is to provide a method and system for providing a hologram viewer that can freely select hologram content to be purchased from a hologram online market and set the composition while previewing the hologram.
[0006] A method for providing a hologram viewer according to one embodiment of the present invention for achieving the above purpose includes a step of selecting hologram content; a step of displaying the selected hologram content on a viewer; and a step of changing the composition of the hologram displayed on the viewer.
[0007] The change step may be to change the arrangement state of objects in the hologram.
[0008] The method for providing a hologram viewer according to the present invention may further include a step of generating a CGH (Computer Generated Hologram) for a hologram with a changed composition; and a step of printing the generated CGH on a hologram film.
[0009] The selection step may be hologram content registered in the hologram online market or hologram content uploaded by a consumer.
[0010] The display step may include a step of setting a hologram plane, which is a position of a hologram film for recording a hologram in a virtual space; a step of arranging hologram objects behind the hologram plane in the virtual space; a step of setting an observation plane, which is a position for observing the hologram objects; a step of generating an image observed when looking at the hologram plane from the observation plane; and a step of displaying the generated image on a viewer.
[0011] The generation step may be to generate an image by photographing the holographic plane with a virtual camera positioned at a point on the observation plane.
[0012] The location at which the virtual camera is placed can be adjusted by the consumer within the observation plane.
[0013] The point at which the virtual camera is placed can be adjusted by moving the position of the pointer on the pad representing the observation plane.
[0014] The image generation step may be to generate an image observed for a space inside a frustum generated when only a portion behind the hologram plane is taken from a square pyramid generated by extending lines connecting each vertex of the hologram plane from a virtual camera by a certain distance.
[0015] According to another aspect of the present invention, a hologram viewer providing system is provided, characterized by including: a communication unit for communicating with a consumer terminal; and a processor for selecting hologram content by the consumer terminal, displaying the selected hologram content on a viewer and providing it to the consumer terminal, and changing the composition of the hologram displayed on the viewer.
[0016] According to another aspect of the present invention, a method for providing a hologram viewer is provided, comprising: a step of displaying holographic content on a viewer; a step of changing the composition of a hologram displayed on the viewer; and a step of generating a CGH (Computer Generated Hologram) for a hologram whose composition has been changed.
[0017] According to another aspect of the present invention, a hologram viewer providing system is provided, characterized by including: a communication unit for communicating with a consumer terminal; and a processor for displaying hologram content on a viewer and providing the hologram content to the consumer terminal, changing the composition of the hologram displayed on the viewer, and generating a CGH (Computer Generated Hologram) for the hologram whose composition has been changed.
[0018] As described above, according to embodiments of the present invention, hologram content to be purchased in a hologram online market can be freely selected, and the composition can be freely set while previewing the hologram through a hologram viewer, thereby respecting the consumer's choice and even expecting expansion and activation of the hologram online market.

[0023] Fig. 16 is a hologram viewer providing system according to another embodiment of the present invention.
[0024] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings.
[0025] An embodiment of the present invention proposes a method and system for providing a hologram viewer. This technology allows users to preview a hologram from various viewpoints and edit its composition before purchasing the hologram.
[0026] FIG. 2 is a diagram showing the flow of a hologram sales method according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0027] To sell a hologram, the consumer must first select hologram content. They can choose hologram content registered in the hologram online market, or upload consumer-customized content.
[0028] The sales site provides sales information for the hologram selected by the consumer and processes payment. Meanwhile, the hologram viewer provides a hologram preview of the hologram content selected / uploaded by the user and provides editing functions for the hologram composition. The hologram viewer is described in detail with reference to Figure 3.
[0029] Once preview and composition editing through the hologram viewer are completed, a CGH (Computer Generated Hologram) for the hologram content is generated, and the generated CGH is recorded on a hologram film using a hologram printer.
[0030] FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the flow of a method for providing a hologram viewer according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0031] As illustrated, first, a hologram plane, which is the location of a hologram film for recording a hologram in a virtual space, is set (S110). Fig. 4 illustrates a situation where a hologram plane (H) is set in a virtual space.
[0032] In the following virtual space, holographic objects are placed behind the holographic plane (H) (S120). Fig. 5 illustrates a situation in which holographic objects are placed behind the holographic plane (H).
[0033] Afterwards, an observation plane, which is a position for observing hologram objects, is set (S130). Fig. 6 illustrates a situation in which an observation plane (V) is set. As shown, the observation plane (V) is set parallel to the hologram plane (H), but its size is set larger than the hologram plane (H).
[0034] Meanwhile, the observation plane (V) is fixedly set at a fixed distance, for example, 50 cm, from the hologram plane (H). This takes into account the characteristics of the FoV (Field of View) for hologram observation.
[0035] More precisely, the distance between the observation plane (V) and the hologram plane (H) is determined based on the size of the hologram plane (H), the focal length and angle of view of the virtual camera described later, and the resolution of the hologram.
[0036] An image observed when looking at the hologram plane from the next observation plane (V) is generated (S140). Specifically, as illustrated in Fig. 7, a virtual camera (C) is placed at a point on the observation plane (V), and the hologram plane (H) is photographed with this virtual camera (C) to generate an image.
[0037] Image generation generates an image observed for the internal space of a frustum (F) generated when only the portion behind the hologram plane is taken from a square pyramid generated by extending the lines connecting each vertex of the hologram plane (H) from the virtual camera (C) by a certain distance, as shown in Fig. 8.
[0038] Afterwards, the image generated in step S140 is provided as a hologram preview (S150).
[0039] Meanwhile, the position of the virtual camera (C) on the observation plane (V) can be changed. Consumers can receive hologram previews from various viewpoints by changing the position of the virtual camera (C) within the observation plane (V).
[0040] The position (arrangement) of the virtual camera (C) can be adjusted by moving the position of the pointer on the pad representing the observation plane, as illustrated in Fig. 9. When the pointer located in the center as illustrated in Fig. 9 is moved to the lower left as illustrated in Fig. 10, the virtual camera (C) also changes its position to the lower left on the observation plane (V), as illustrated in Fig. 11, and captures the hologram plane (H) to generate an image.
[0041] Meanwhile, as shown in Fig. 12, when moved to the upper right, the virtual camera (C) also changes its position from the observation plane (V) to the upper right, as shown in Fig. 13, and captures the hologram plane (H) to create an image.
[0042] In this way, when the position of the virtual camera (C) is changed by the consumer (S160-Y), the position of the virtual camera (C) is changed on the observation plane (V) (S170), the hologram plane (H) is photographed to create an image (S140), and provided as a preview (S150).
[0043] Meanwhile, when the composition of the hologram is changed by the consumer (S180-Y), the arrangement of hologram objects in the virtual space is changed to change the composition of the hologram (S190).
[0044] Figure 14 illustrates a hologram viewer, and Figure 15 illustrates a situation in which a consumer changes the angle of hologram objects through the hologram viewer. The composition of the hologram content changes according to the user's settings.
[0045] FIG. 16 is a diagram illustrating the configuration of a hologram viewer providing system according to another embodiment of the present invention. As illustrated, the hologram viewer providing system according to an embodiment of the present invention can be implemented as a server system comprising a communication unit (210), a processor (220), and a storage unit (230).
[0046] The communication unit (210) is a communication interface for communication connection with a consumer terminal via an external network. The processor (220) generates a hologram viewer according to the procedure illustrated in FIG. 3 described above, provides it to the consumer terminal via the communication unit (210), and modifies the hologram according to the composition set by the consumer via the consumer terminal.
[0047] The storage unit (230) provides the storage space necessary for the processor (220) to function and operate.
[0048] So far, a preferred embodiment of a method and system for providing a hologram viewer has been described in detail.
[0049] In the above example, users can freely select holographic content to purchase from the online hologram market, and freely adjust the composition while previewing the hologram through the hologram viewer. This respects consumer choice and can lead to the expansion and activation of the online hologram market.
