Description

DATA PROCESSING METHOD AND RELATED APPARATUSESTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of communication technologies, and in particular, to a data processing method and an apparatus, a device, a system and a storage medium.BACKGROUND

[0002] At present, with popularization of smart home and office system, demands for tracking human presence and movements are increasing. Wireless technologies, such as radar technologies or Bluetooth technologies, can be used to track human presence and movements.

[0003] This background information is provided to reveal information believed by the applicant to be of possible relevance to the present disclosure. No admission is necessarily intended, nor should be construed, that any of the preceding information constitutes prior art against the present disclosure.SUMMARY

[0004] In a first aspect, an embodiment of the present disclosure provides a data processing method, where the method includes:

[0005] generating, by a transmitting device, at least one sensing signal; and

[0006] transmitting, by the transmitting device to a receiving device, the at least one sensing signal over at least one first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal respectively, where a time gap between each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal is predefined.

[0007] According to the method provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure, the time gap between each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal is predefined, this kind of control on the time gap enables the receiving device to make appropriate signal processing to derive a corresponding sensing result, so as to complete a sensing task. The method also allows the transmitting device and receiving device to be placed in different locations, providing spatial diversity. Since the transmission is controlled such that the time gap between  frames is predefined, synchronization between the transmitting device and receiving device is ensured, computational complexity is reduced, the reliability and accuracy of the obtained sensing result is improved, and compatibility for performing various sensing tasks is improved, especially for tracking small movements.

[0008] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, each of the at least one sensing signal has a constant amplitude;

[0009] where generating, by the transmitting device, the at least one sensing signal includes:

[0010] modulating, by the transmitting device, at least one original signal with a first modulation scheme to obtain the at least one sensing signal.

[0011] By using the constant amplitude sensing signal, processing and analysis of the received signals can be simplified, and performance of signal detection and recognition can be improved. With a fixed amplitude, it becomes easier to distinguish the sensing signal from background noise and interference.

[0012] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the first modulation scheme is one of Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying (GFSK) modulation or Minimum Shift Keying (MSK) modulation.

[0013] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the at least one first channel is predefined.

[0014] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, an index of the at least one first channel is predefined.

[0015] With predefined first channel and / or predefined index of the at least one first channel, there is no need for the receiving device to continuously scan or search for the optimal channel during runtime, computational resources can be saved, power consumption as well as signaling overhead can be reduced.

[0016] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the method further includes: determining, by the transmitting device, the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal according to a sensing task.

[0017] By allowing the transmitting device to determine the time gap between data frames, it enables customization of a sampling rate based on the specific sensing task, which improves flexibility of the sensing method and synchronizes the data collection with specific requirements of the sensing task, resulting in more accurate measurements.

[0018] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal is inversely proportional to a frequency corresponding to the sensing task.

[0019] With the time gap that is inversely proportional to the sensing frequency, it is possible to adjust the time gap between data frames to suit the specific sensing tasks.

[0020] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the sensing task is at least one of human movement detection, detection for a vital sign of a human, or human presence detection.

[0021] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the at least one sensing signal includes one sensing signal, and the at least one first channel includes one first channel;

[0022] where a time gap between each two adjacent data frames for the one sensing signal is a fixed time gap.

[0023] By using one sensing signal and one first channel, implementation cost of the method can be reduced and the compatibility of the device-free sensing method in various conditions is improved.

[0024] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the at least one sensing signal includes multiple sensing signals, and the at least one first channel includes multiple first channels corresponding to the multiple sensing signals one-by-one;

[0025] where a time gap between each two adjacent data frames for a respective sensing signal of the multiple sensing signals is a fixed time gap, and time gaps between each two adjacent data frames for different sensing signals are same.

[0026] By selecting multiple first channels corresponding to the multiple sensing signals one-by-one, the transmitting device optimizes the utilization of available channels while addressing the individual requirements of each sensing signal. This method allows for better adaptability to channel variations.

[0027] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the method further includes:

[0028] determining, by the transmitting device, the at least one first channel according to the time gaps between the each two adjacent data frames for different sensing signals.

[0029] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the determining, by the transmitting device, the at least one first channel according to the time gaps between each two adjacent data frames for different sensing signals includes:

[0030] determining, by the transmitting device, the at least one first channel according to the time gaps between each two adjacent data frames for different sensing signals, and at least one of channel conditions of candidate channels or a sensing requirement.

[0031] By determining the first channel according to multiple factors, better adaptability to channel variations can be achieved.

[0032] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the transmitting, by the transmitting device to the receiving device, the at least one sensing signal over the at least one first channel corresponding to the at least one  sensing signal respectively includes:

[0033] transmitting, by the transmitting device to the receiving device, the at least one sensing signal over the at least one first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal respectively in a time division multiplexing manner.

[0034] By using the time division multiplexing manner, the transmitting device can transmit multiple sensing signals over the same physical medium, which can help reducing the cost and complexity of a communication system.

[0035] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, different sensing signals have different frequencies, or, at least two of the multiple sensing signals have a same frequency.

[0036] Different sensing signals with different frequencies, or, at least two of the multiple sensing signals with a same frequency can be used, thus flexibility to adapt to varying environmental conditions is improved.

[0037] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, the method further includes:

[0038] transmitting, by the transmitting device, first information to the receiving device, where the first information is indicative of the at least one first channel and the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal.

[0039] By transmitting the first information, the receiving device can properly associate each sensing signal with its corresponding predefined first channel.

[0040] In a possible implementation of the first aspect, at least one of the transmitting device and the receiving device is a Bluetooth device.

[0041] In a second aspect, an embodiment of the present disclosure provides a data processing method, where the method includes:

[0042] receiving, by a receiving device, at least one sensing signal transmitted by a transmitting device over at least one first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal respectively, where a time gap between each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal is predefined; and

[0043] obtaining, by the receiving device, a sensing result from the at least one sensing signal.

[0047] determining, by the receiving device, the sensing result based on the envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal.

[0048] By using the envelope to obtain the sensing result, accuracy of the sensing result can be improved, and computational cost can be reduced.

[0085] FIG. 2 illustrates an example communication system 100. In general, the communication system 100 enables multiple wireless or wired elements to communicate data and other content. The purpose of the communication system 100 may be to provide content, such as voice, data, video, and / or text, via broadcast, multicast and unicast, etc. The communication system 100 may operate by sharing resources, such as carrier spectrum bandwidth, between its constituent elements. The communication system 100 may include a terrestrial  communication system and / or a non-terrestrial communication system. The communication system 100 may provide a wide range of communication services and applications (such as earth monitoring, remote sensing, passive sensing and positioning, navigation and tracking, autonomous delivery and mobility, etc. ) . The communication system 100 may provide a high degree of availability and robustness through a joint operation of the terrestrial communication system and the non-terrestrial communication system. For example, integrating a non-terrestrial communication system (or components thereof) into a terrestrial communication system can result in what may be considered a heterogeneous network including multiple layers. Compared to conventional communication networks, the heterogeneous network may achieve better overall performance through efficient multi-link joint operation, more flexible functionality sharing, and faster physical layer link switching between terrestrial networks and non-terrestrial networks.

[0086] The terrestrial communication system and the non-terrestrial communication system could be considered sub-systems of the communication system. In the example shown, the communication system 100 includes electronic devices (ED) 110a-110d (generically referred to as ED 110) , radio access networks (RANs) 120a-120b, non-terrestrial communication network 120c, a core network 130, a public switched telephone network (PSTN) 140, the internet 150, and other networks 160. The RANs 120a-120b include respective base stations (BSs) 170a-170b, which may be generically referred to as terrestrial transmit and receive points (T-TRPs) 170a-170b. The non-terrestrial communication network 120c includes an access node 120c, which may be generically referred to as a non-terrestrial transmit and receive point (NT-TRP) 172.

[0087] Any ED 110 may be alternatively or additionally configured to interface, access, or communicate with any other T-TRP 170a-170b and NT-TRP 172, the internet 150, the core network 130, the PSTN 140, the other networks 160, or any combination of the preceding. In some examples, ED 110a may communicate an uplink and / or downlink transmission over an interface 190a with T-TRP 170a. In some examples, the EDs 110a, 110b and 110d may also communicate directly with one another via one or more sidelink air interfaces 190b. In some examples, ED 110d may communicate an uplink and / or downlink transmission over an interface 190c with NT-TRP 172.

[0088] The air interfaces 190a and 190b may use similar communication technology, such as any suitable radio access technology. For example, the communication system 100 may implement one or more channel access methods, such as code division multiple access (CDMA) , time division multiple access (TDMA) , frequency division multiple access (FDMA) , orthogonal FDMA (OFDMA) , or single-carrier FDMA (SC-FDMA) in the air interfaces 190a and 190b. The air interfaces 190a and 190b may utilize other higher dimension signal spaces, which may involve a  combination of orthogonal and / or non-orthogonal dimensions.

[0089] The air interface 190c can enable communication between the ED 110d and one or multiple NT-TRPs 172 via a wireless link or simply a link. In some examples, the link is a dedicated connection for unicast transmission, a connection for broadcast transmission, or a connection between a group of EDs and one or multiple NT-TRPs for multicast transmission.

[0090] The RANs 120a and 120b are in communication with the core network 130 to provide the EDs 110a 110b, and 110c with various services such as voice, data, and other services. The RANs 120a and 120b and / or the core network 130 may be in direct or indirect communication with one or more other RANs (not shown) , which may or may not be directly served by core network 130, and may or may not employ the same radio access technology as RAN 120a, RAN 120b or both. The core network 130 may also serve as a gateway access between (i) the RANs 120a and 120b or EDs 110a 110b, and 110c or both, and (ii) other networks (such as the PSTN 140, the internet 150, and the other networks 160) . In addition, some or all of the EDs 110a 110b, and 110c may include functionality for communicating with different wireless networks over different wireless links using different wireless technologies and / or protocols. Instead of wireless communication (or in addition thereto) , the EDs 110a 110b, and 110c may communicate via wired communication channels to a service provider or switch (not shown) , and to the internet 150. PSTN 140 may include circuit switched telephone networks for providing plain old telephone service (POTS) . Internet 150 may include a network of computers and subnets (intranets) or both, and incorporate protocols, such as Internet Protocol (IP) , Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) , User Datagram Protocol (UDP) . EDs 110a 110b, and 110c may be multimode devices capable of operation according to multiple radio access technologies, and incorporate multiple transceivers necessary to support such.

[0103] Although not illustrated, the processor 260 may form part of the transmitting device 252 and / or receiving device 254. Also, although not illustrated, the processor 260 may implement the scheduler 253. Although not illustrated, the memory 258 may form part of the processor 260.

[0104] The processor 260, the scheduler 253, and the processing components of the transmitting device 252 and receiving device 254 may each be implemented by the same or different one or more processors that are configured to execute instructions stored in a memory, e.g. in memory 258. Alternatively, some or all of the processor 260, the scheduler 253, and the processing components of the transmitting device 252 and receiving device 254 may be implemented using dedicated circuitry, such as a FPGA, a GPU, or an ASIC.

[0105] Although the NT-TRP 172 is illustrated as a drone only as an example, the NT-TRP 172 may be implemented in any suitable non-terrestrial form. Also, the NT-TRP 172 may be known by other names in some implementations, such as a non-terrestrial node, a non-terrestrial network device, or a non-terrestrial base station. The NT-TRP 172 includes a transmitting device 272 and a receiving device 274 coupled to one or more antennas 280. Only one antenna 280 is illustrated. One, some, or all of the antennas may alternatively be panels. The transmitting device 272 and the receiving device 274 may be integrated as a transceiver. The NT-TRP 172 further includes a processor 276 for performing operations including those related to: preparing a transmission for downlink transmission to the ED 110, processing an uplink transmission received from the ED 110, preparing a transmission for backhaul transmission to T-TRP 170, and processing a transmission received over backhaul from the T-TRP 170.  Processing operations related to preparing a transmission for downlink or backhaul transmission may include operations such as encoding, modulating, precoding (e.g. MIMO precoding) , transmit beamforming, and generating symbols for transmission. Processing operations related to processing received transmissions in the uplink or over backhaul may include operations such as receive beamforming, and demodulating and decoding received symbols. In some embodiments, the processor 276 implements the transmit beamforming and / or receive beamforming based on beam direction information (e.g. BAI) received from T-TRP 170. In some embodiments, the processor 276 may generate signaling, e.g. to configure one or more parameters of the ED 110. In some embodiments, the NT-TRP 172 implements physical layer processing, but does not implement higher layer functions such as functions at the medium access control (MAC) or radio link control (RLC) layer. As this is only an example, more generally, the NT-TRP 172 may implement higher layer functions in addition to physical layer processing.

[0106] The NT-TRP 172 further includes a memory 278 for storing information and data. Although not illustrated, the processor 276 may form part of the transmitting device 272 and / or receiving device 274. Although not illustrated, the memory 278 may form part of the processor 276.

[0107] The processor 276 and the processing components of the transmitting device 272 and receiving device 274 may each be implemented by the same or different one or more processors that are configured to execute instructions stored in a memory, e.g. in memory 278. Alternatively, some or all of the processor 276 and the processing components of the transmitting device 272 and receiving device 274 may be implemented using dedicated circuitry, such as a programmed FPGA, a GPU, or an ASIC. In some embodiments, the NT-TRP 172 may actually be a plurality of NT-TRPs that are operating together to serve the ED 110, e.g. through coordinated multipoint transmissions.

[0108] The T-TRP 170, the NT-TRP 172, and / or the ED 110 may include other components, but these have been omitted for the sake of clarity.

[0109] One or more steps of the embodiment methods provided herein may be performed by corresponding units or modules, according to FIG. 4. FIG. 4 illustrates units or modules in a device, such as in ED 110, in T-TRP 170, or in NT-TRP 172. For example, a signal may be transmitted by a transmitting unit or a transmitting module. For example, a signal may be transmitted by a transmitting unit or a transmitting module. A signal may be received by a receiving unit or a receiving module. A signal may be processed by a processing unit or a processing module. Other steps may be performed by an artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) module. The respective units or modules may be implemented using hardware, one or more components or devices that execute software, or  a combination thereof. For instance, one or more of the units or modules may be an integrated circuit, such as a programmed FPGA, a GPU, or an ASIC. It will be appreciated that where the modules are implemented using software for execution by a processor for example, they may be retrieved by a processor, in whole or part as needed, individually or together for processing, in single or multiple instances, and that the modules themselves may include instructions for further deployment and instantiation.

[0110] Additional details regarding the EDs 110, T-TRP 170, and NT-TRP 172 are known to those of skill in the art. As such, these details are omitted here.

[0111] At present, with popularization of smart home and office system, demands for tracking human presence and movements are increasing. Wireless technologies, such as radar technologies or Bluetooth technologies, can be used to track human presence and movements.

[0112] Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard that may be used to transfer data over short distances using short-wavelength ultrahigh frequency (UHF) radio waves in the ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) band from, e.g., 2.4 Gigahertz (GHz) to 2.485 GHz. Bluetooth low energy (BLE) is a related technology for providing communications with reduced power consumption. Bluetooth devices can be strategically placed in an area, and their signals can be used to detect the presence and movement of individuals. Changes in signal strength or the time it takes for a Bluetooth device to connect with multiple beacons can provide information about movement patterns.

[0113] RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) is a measurement of the power level of a received radio signal. In wireless communication systems such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular networks, RSSI may be used to estimate the strength of the received signal and to determine the quality of the communication link. In practice, RSSI values can be affected by many factors, e.g., distance, obstacles, interference, and environmental conditions. As such, RSSI values can be used to detect human presence and movements. In general, the value of RSSI decreases as the relative distance with a communication partner increases.

[0114] When a user carries a slave Bluetooth device, a master Bluetooth device (such as, a personal computer (PC) ) gets slave information of surrounding slave Bluetooth devices including the user’s Bluetooth device. The PC can detect human presence and movements by measuring RSSI values and using an RSSI pattern. FIG. 5a is a schematic diagram of a behavior of Bluetooth RSSI when a user carrying a Bluetooth device moves away from a Bluetooth receiving device, and FIG. 5b is a schematic diagram of a behavior of Bluetooth RSSI when a user carrying a Bluetooth device stays near a Bluetooth receiving device. It should be noted that Bluetooth has N number of hopping channels (e.g., N=80) , therefore, RSSI at one time corresponds to a specific channel. Here the Bluetooth  RSSI refers to the RSSI of the signal transmitted from the master Bluetooth device to the slave Bluetooth device.

[0115] The RSSI values are measured at a Bluetooth receiving device (i.e., the slave Bluetooth device carried by the user) and RSSI patterns are used to detect presence and movements of the user. The PC can judge whether the user is sitting in front of the PC or moving away from the PC, e.g., by comparing the RSSI value and a threshold value that was set for the user, such judgment could in fact be regarded as a detection of human presence.

[0116] When the device-free sensing is performed by computing the RSSI value, RSSI needs to be calculated at different hopping channels. In the Bluetooth technology, frequency hopping is used to mitigate interference and fading. However, different channels may experience varying levels of fading or interference due to the environment, and the transmission channel is random. This can make it challenging to accurately detect micro movements by combining RSSI values obtained at different hopping channels. The variations in channel conditions introduce additional complexity in extracting meaningful movement information at the receiving device side.

[0117] Moreover, in the RSSI-based sensing method, the user needs to carry an active Bluetooth device for sensing purposes. The active device continuously emits Bluetooth signals, and the RSSI values are measured by receiving devices placed in the environment. This means that the user should actively participate in the sensing process by carrying a Bluetooth device, the user experience is thus relatively poor.

[0118] In view of the above, the present disclosure provides a data processing method in which a signal transmitted between a transmitting device and a receiving device is under control, such control mechanism makes it possible for the receiving device to make appropriate signal processing to derive a corresponding sensing result, so as to complete a sensing task. The above sensing task may be, for example, human movement and vital sign detection, or human presence detection.

[0119] An exemplary scenario of the present disclosure will be described in the first place before elaborating the solution of the present disclosure. It should be noted that FIG. 6 simply shows an exemplary scenario to which the solution proposed by the present disclosure could be applied, and should not be construed as a limitation.

[0120] FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram of an application scenario of an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 6, the embodiment provides a wireless communication system 600. The wireless communication system 600 includes a transmitting device 601 and a receiving device 602.

[0121] The transmitting device 601 and the receiving device 602 can be any suitable end user device for wireless operation. The wireless communication system 600 can be a Bluetooth communication system or other wireless communication systems, which is not limited here. As an example, the wireless communication system 600 may be  a Bluetooth communication system, and the transmitting device 601 and the receiving device 602 can be any devices that support Bluetooth communication or other wireless technologies.

[0122] In some cases, the transmitting device 601 and the receiving device 602 may be Bluetooth communication apparatuses (or referred to as Bluetooth devices) , such as user equipment (user equipment, UE) with a Bluetooth communication function. The UE includes, but is not limited to, a handheld device, a wearable device, or a computing device that has a Bluetooth wireless communication function. For example, the UE may be a mobile phone (mobile phone) , a tablet computer, or a computer having a Bluetooth wireless transceiver function. The transmitting device 601 and the receiving device 602 may alternatively be a virtual reality (virtual reality, VR) terminal device, an augmented reality (augmented reality, AR) terminal device, a wireless terminal in industrial control, a wireless terminal in unmanned driving, a wireless terminal in telemedicine, a wireless terminal in a smart grid, a wireless terminal in a smart city (smart city) , a wireless terminal in a smart home (smart home) , or the like. By way of example rather than limitation, the wearable device may also be referred to as a wearable intelligent device, and is a general term of wearable devices, such as glasses, a Bluetooth headset, gloves, watches, clothes, and shoes, that are developed by applying wearable technologies to intelligent designs of daily wear. The wearable device is a portable device that is directly worn or integrated into clothes or an accessory of a user. For example, the wearable device is not merely a hardware device, and is also a device that implements a powerful function through software support, data exchange, and cloud interaction. Generalized wearable intelligent devices include full-featured and large-size devices that can implement complete or partial functions without depending on smartphones, for example, smart watches or smart glasses, and devices that focus on only one type of application function and need to work with other devices such as smartphones, for example, various smart bands or smart jewelry for monitoring physical signs.

[0123] In some cases, the Bluetooth communication apparatus may also be an intelligent appliance or a wearable device. The intelligent appliance may be for example, an air conditioner, a television, etc.

[0124] In some cases, the Bluetooth communication apparatus may be a terminal in an internet of things (internet of things, IoT) system. An IoT is an important component of future information technology development. A main technical feature of the IoT is connecting an object to a network by using a communication technology, to implement an intelligent network of human-machine interconnection and thing-thing interconnection. The Bluetooth communication apparatus in the present disclosure may be a terminal in machine type communication (machine type communication, MTC) . The terminal in the present disclosure may be a vehicle-mounted module, a vehicle-mounted  module assembly, an onboard component, an automotive chip, or an on board unit that is built in a vehicle as one or more components or units. The vehicle may implement the method in the present disclosure by using the vehicle-mounted module, the vehicle-mounted module assembly, the onboard component, the automotive chip, or the on board unit that is built in the vehicle.

[0125] A target, such as a human 603 as shown in FIG. 6, is within a range of a transmit-receive path between the transmitting device 601 and the receiving device 602. At this time, a signal transmission characteristic of the transmit-receive path would be affected by the object in the transmit-receive path.

[0126] As an example, the transmitting device sends a Bluetooth signal to the receiving device. Characteristics of the received signal (usually represented by an amplitude and phase of the received signal, known as channel state information (CSI) ) can be computed at the receiving device 602. If there are no changes to the environment of the transmit-receive path, the CSI does not change with time. However, if an object, such as the human 603, appears within the range of the transmit-receive path, a change is caused in the way the signal arrive at the receiving device (i.e. via different multipath characteristics) . Thus, the CSI changes accordingly.

[0127] For example, if the human 603 moves, the human movements (such as, walking, hand gestures, respiration) would cause changes in the way the signal arrive at the receiving device, and the CSI of the signal received by the receiving device 602 would change accordingly. By applying the solution proposed by the present disclosure at the transmitting device and the receiving device, signals can be transmitted under control, and then be captured / received by the receiving device (e.g., at a Bluetooth PHY layer) , the captured signals, which reflects changes of the CSI between the transmitting device 601 and the receiving device 602, can then be used to analyze movement characteristics of the target, to perform device-free sensing. Such device-free sensing has potential applications in various domains, such as healthcare, security, smart homes and smart offices. For example, it could be used to monitor a health status of elderly people or patients with chronic diseases, detect intruders or unusual activities in secure areas, or provide personalized automation and services in smart homes based on occupants’ movements and behaviors.

[0128] In the device-free sensing scenario shown in FIG. 6, it is not necessary for the target to be in a straight line between the transmitting device and the receiving device. The Bluetooth signal can pass through objects, or be reflected off objects, or diffract around edges of objects, or be scattered over surfaces of objects in the environment, including walls, furniture, and other surfaces allowing for non-line-of-sight sensing and enabling detection and analysis of human movements even when they are behind obstacles or in indirect paths from the transmitting device  to the receiving device.

[0129] It should be noted that, the wireless communication system 600 can also include multiple transmitting devices and multiple receiving devices. Each of the transmitting devices can correspond to each of the receiving devices one-by-one, or at least one of the multiple transmitting devices can correspond to more than one receiving device, which is not limited here. In some cases, when there are multiple receiving devices, each of the multiple receiving devices may perform similar processing on the received signal.

[0130] Specific embodiments of the present disclosure will be elaborated in the following description.

[0131] FIG. 7 shows a schematic flowchart of a data processing method according to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure. The method can be applied to a Bluetooth communication or other wireless communication, which is not limited here. For ease of description, a Bluetooth communication system is taken as an example in the embodiment, but the principle and the operations performed by the transmitting device and the receiving device also apply for other wireless systems. As shown in FIG. 7, the method can include the following steps.

[0132] S701, a transmitting device generates at least one sensing signal.

[0133] In the embodiment, the transmitting device may generate at least one sensing signal. The at least one sensing signal may include one sensing signal or multiple sensing signals. The specific sensing signals utilized will depend on the sensing requirements of application, which is not limited here. When there are multiple sensing signals, the multiple sensing signals may be used for completing the same sensing task, or for completing different sensing tasks. The sensing task here can be at least one of human movement detection, detection for a vital sign of a human, or human presence detection.

[0134] In an implementation, each of the at least one sensing signal has a constant (fixed) amplitude, and the transmitting device may modulate at least one original signal with a first modulation scheme to obtain the at least one sensing signal. For example, the first modulation scheme is Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying (GFSK) modulation or Minimum Shift Keying (MSK) modulation. In this case, the transmitting device is a device capable of generating a sensing signal with a constant amplitude, and the receiving device is a device capable of decoding a sensing signal with the constant amplitude. For example, both of the transmitting device and the receiving device are Bluetooth devices, or one of the transmitting device and the receiving device is a Bluetooth device, and the other is a device capable of generating or decoding a sensing signal with a constant amplitude. Using the sensing signal with a constant amplitude can simplify the processing and analysis of the received signals, and can improve performance of signal detection and recognition. With a fixed amplitude, it becomes easier to distinguish the sensing  signal from background noise and interference. For example, both of the transmitting device and the receiving device are devices which adopt other protocols, such as the NearLink protocol, the wireless fidelity (Wifi) standards, etc., the transmitting device and the receiving device can be EDs 110 described with reference to FIG. 3, and can adopt various wireless communication techniques as described above, which is not limited in the embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0135] S702, the transmitting device transmits the at least one sensing signal to a receiving device over at least one first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal respectively, and the receiving device receives the at least one sensing signal transmitted by the transmitting device over the at least one first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal respectively.

[0136] As described above, the at least one sensing signal may include one sensing signal or multiple sensing signals. The at least one first channel may also include one first channel or multiple first channels. Following cases would be possible.

[0137] I. One sensing signal and one first sensing channel

[0138] In this case, the correspondence between the sensing signal and the first channel may be a one-to-one correspondence, where the sensing signal for completing a sensing task would be transmitted on the first channel from the transmitting device to the receiving device, the receiving device then receives the sensing signal and derives a sensing result based on the received sensing signal.

[0139] II. One sensing signal and multiple first sensing channels

[0140] In this case, the correspondence between the sensing signal and the first channel may be a one-to-many correspondence, where the same sensing signal for completing a sensing task may be transmitted on the multiple first sensing channels, so that the receiving device can combine the signals received on the multiple first sensing channels, and derive a sensing result.

[0141] III. Multiple sensing signals and one first sensing channel

[0142] In this case, the multiple sensing signals may be used for completing different sensing tasks, this may be implemented by using different time gaps. Different sensing tasks would correspond to different time gaps, which will be described later. For example, there are two sensing signals, SIG 1 and SIG 2, a time gap between two adjacent data frames for SIG 1 is 0.25ms, and a time gap between two adjacent data frames for SIG 2 is 0.5ms, so these two sensing signals can be transmitted by the transmitting device according to their respective time gaps on the same first channel. This may be useful in the scenario where the number of channels used for completing a sensing task is  limited, since one channel can be used for completing different sensing tasks. At the receiving device side, SIG1 and SIG2 are analyzed respectively to derive sensing results corresponding to different sensing tasks.

[0143] IV. Multiple sensing signals and multiple first sensing channels

[0144] In this case, the correspondence between the multiple sensing signals and the multiple first channels may be a one-to-one correspondence. In an implementation, the time gap between each two adjacent data frames (or simply referred to as frames throughout the specification) for the multiple sensing signals on the multiple first channels can be the same or different, which is not limited here.

[0145] For cases where there are multiple sensing signals, the multiple sensing signals may be the same, for example, they are have the same frequency, the time gap between each two adjacent data frames for each of the multiple sensing signals is predefined in the same way, so in this case, the multiple sensing signals are actually one sensing signal. Alternatively, the multiple sensing signals may also have different frequencies, or, some of the multiple sensing signals have the same frequency, which is not limited in the embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0146] For each of the at least one sensing signal, the time gap between each two adjacent data frames of the sensing signal is predefined. There may be various ways for predefining a time gap between each two adjacent data frames of a sensing signal, the main principle is to make the time gap under control, so that the receiving device could derive the sensing result with a relatively low cost. It should be noted that the time gap for different sensing signals may be predefined in the same way or in different ways, which is not limited in the embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0147] For example, the time gap can be fixed, or the time gap between each two adjacent data frames can be changed according to a predefined rule. The predefined rule can be set according to actual needs, as long as both of the transmitting device and the receiving device know the rule. For example, the predefined rule can be: the time gaps between each two adjacent data frames of the sensing signal are increased with a set step. At the beginning, the time gap between adjacent data frames of the sensing signal transmitted may be relatively small, so as to keep a relatively high transmission frequency, once the receiving device captures the signal, the time gap can be reduced to a certain degree, so as to reduce the signaling overhead.

[0148] When the time gap is predefined between each two adjacent data frames for a sensing signal, predictable timing between data frames and accurate timing alignment between the transmitting device and the receiving device can be achieved. It simplifies the synchronization and processing of the received signal at the receiving device side, helps prevent timing-related errors and improves the overall reliability of the communication system.

[0149] In an implementation, the transmitting device can determine the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal according to a sensing task which may be initiated by a user. In an implementation, the sensing task can be at least one of human movement detection (e.g., a gesture of the human) , detection for a vital sign of a human (arespiration of the human) , or human presence detection (e.g., whether a human is on a transmit-receive path) . In an implementation, the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for a sensing signal could be inversely proportional to a frequency corresponding to the sensing task. In general, higher frequencies correspond to shorter wavelengths, which means that the sensing resolution is typically better at higher frequencies. With the time gap that is inversely proportional to the sensing frequency, it is possible to adjust the time gap between data frames to suit the specific sensing tasks. For example, if the sensing task involves detecting very fast movements, such as detecting a human walking speed, a higher frequency sensing signal may be used, and the time gap between adjacent data frames could be set to a smaller value to capture rapid changes.

[0150] For example, when the sensing task is respiration detection, 20Hz packet rate over one channel can be set. For another example, when the sensing task is human walking speed detection, 200Hz packet rate over one channel can be set. By allowing the transmitting device to determine the time gap between data frames, it enables customization of a sampling rate based on the specific sensing task, which improves flexibility of the sensing method and matches the data collection process with specific requirements of the sensing task, resulting in more accurate measurements. It should be noted that the specific values throughout the specification are for illustration purpose only, which should not be construed as limitations to the solution of the present disclosure.

[0151] In an implementation, in order to enable the sensing result to be derived at the receiving device side, the receiving device should also know information of specific settings of the sensing signal transmitted. The information may include the time gap between each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal and which channel (s) is (are) used as the at least one first channel. For example, in the case of Bluetooth communication, such information may include the number of Bluetooth channels to use, exact Bluetooth channel number / numbers, and the time gap between each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal.

[0152] Different ways may be adopted to let the receiving device get acknowledge of such information.

[0153] In an implementation, such information may be provided to the receiving device at initialization by the transmitting device, e.g., by transmitting first information to the receiving device, with the first information being indicative of the at least one first channel and the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal. In an implementation, the transmitting device may provide the receiving device with  the above information indicating specific settings of the sensing signal transmission during a process of Bluetooth pairing and connection establishment. For example, the above information can be carried in the Link Control Command (L2CAP) , which includes various parameters related to the sensing signal transmission.

[0154] In an implementation, the time gap between each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal may also be fixed (e.g., set as 0.005 -0.05 seconds) or may be determined according to the sensing task as described above.

[0155] In an implementation, the index and the number of the at least one first channel are both predefined. For example, the at least one first channel can be one Bluetooth channel or can be multiple Bluetooth channels with predefined hopping sequence. For example, one Bluetooth channel with a sequence number of 5 is used as the first channel, or two Bluetooth channels with sequence numbers of 5 and 10 are used as the first channels. Here the exact Bluetooth channel index / indices can be selected from one or more of indices 1, 2, 3…, 80. With a predefined channel and index, there is no need for the receiving device to continuously scan or search for the optimal channel during runtime, and computational resources can be saved, power consumption as well as signaling overhead can be reduced.

[0156] In an implementation, when the at least one first channel includes multiple first channels, the number of the multiple first channels can be determined according to time gaps between the each two adjacent data frames for different sensing signals, and the index of the at least one first channel is predefined. In an implementation, the at least one sensing signal is transmitted over the at least one first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal respectively in a time division multiplexing manner, in order to satisfy such requirement, the number of the at least one first channel each carrying a sensing signal would be determined based on the time gap between two adjacent data frames. In an implementation, it is also possible to further take channel conditions of candidate channels or a sensing requirement into account when determining the at least one first channel. Here the candidate channel may refer to an available channel whose channel condition is good enough (qualified) for transmitting a sensing signal. The sensing requirement may include performance requirement of the sensing process, the more channel used, the better performance will be achieved.

[0157] For example, when it is determined, according to the time gaps between the each two adjacent data frames for different sensing signals, that five first channels could be used, however, there are simply three first channels available, then the number of the multiple first channels used may be three. For another example, as described above, if the sensing requirement is not very high, even if three channels are available, it is still possible to simply use some of them for sensing.

[0158] For another example, the transmitting device may select a unique first channel for every sensing signal, which ensures that each sensing signal is allocated its dedicated channel. By selecting multiple first channels corresponding to the multiple sensing signals one-by-one, the transmitting device optimizes the utilization of available channels while addressing the individual requirements of each sensing signal. This method allows for better adaptability to channel variations.

[0159] In an implementation, the transmitting device may employ techniques such as channel estimation or signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) measurements to assess the channel conditions of candidate channels. This information can be obtained by analyzing received pilot signals or by periodically probing the channels, which is not limited here.

[0160] In an implementation, the transmitting device takes into account the specific requirements of the sensing task. This may include considerations such as coverage area, data rate, latency, reliability, or other application-specific constraints that influence the choice of channels.

[0161] In an implementation, the transmitting device may utilize a decision-making algorithm to determine the multiple first channels. This algorithm may involve a combination of factors, including the measured channel conditions, an assigned priority weight, and any predefined rules or policies set by a system design.

[0162] As for the way of predefining the index, in an implementation, an index group may be preset for completing a sensing task, as long as the number of the at least one first channel is determined, indices could be selected from such index group. For example, the number of the at least one first channel is determined to be five, then the first five indices are selected.

[0163] S703, the receiving device obtains a sensing result from the at least one sensing signal.

[0164] In the embodiment, after receiving the at least one sensing signal, the receiving device can obtain the sensing result by performing a signal processing and analysis on the received sensing signal.

[0165] In an implementation, the receiving device may detect an envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal based on the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal, and determine the sensing result based on the envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal. For example, the receiving device can measure or characterize a property of the received sensing signal, and can perform signal analysis to generate a sensing result. The envelope detection may be less power consuming since the frequency required for realizing the detection is relatively small in comparison with the detection of RSSI.

[0166] In an implementation, the envelope of the received signal can be obtained by applying a preset transform, e.g., Hilbert transformation. By using such transformation, the result of the envelope detection can directly reflect  the sensing result.

[0167] In an implementation, there may exist multiple receiving devices. In this case, the at least one sensing signal can be transmitted by one transmitting device to the multiple receiving devices simultaneously, for example, in a way of broadcasting. The time gap between each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal and the at least one first channel used may be indicated to all of the receiving devices, thus enabling them to obtain the sensing result of each sensing signal independently. By using multiple receiving devices located at different positions, the sensing range of the system can be broadened.

[0168] Taking the Bluetooth communication as an example, one Bluetooth transmitting device and one Bluetooth receiving device may be deployed, then the Bluetooth transmitting device transmits using GFSK signal (s) as sensing signal (s) , and the transmission of the GFSK signals can be over one Bluetooth frequency channel or multiple frequency channels with pre-defined hopping sequence, then at the receiving device side, the Bluetooth receiving device captures in-phase and quadrature signals (IQ) for the corresponding transmission, and uses the captured I / Q signals to recover the envelope of the GFSK signal that corresponds to the Bluetooth channel (s) . The sensing is then performed using the recovered signal envelop (s) .

[0169] With the wireless communication method provided by the present disclosure, the transmitting device generates at least one sensing signal, and transmits the at least one sensing signal to the receiving device over at least one first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal respectively, where a time gap between each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal is predefined. After receiving the at least one sensing signal from the transmitting device, the receiving device obtains a sensing result from the at least one sensing signal. The above method can be implemented by a low-cost Bluetooth transmitting device and receiving device (e.g., both of the transmitting device and the receiving device is single-antenna. The method also allows the transmitting device and receiving device to be placed in different locations, providing spatial diversity. This means that the user does not need to carry any specific device for the sensing system to work effectively. Instead, the transmitting device and receiving device can be positioned separately according to the specific application requirements.

[0170] Since the transmission is controlled such that the time gap between two adjacent data frames is predefined, synchronization between the transmitting device and receiving device is ensured, computational complexity is reduced, the reliability and accuracy of the obtained sensing result is improved, and compatibility for performing various sensing tasks is improved, especially for tracking small movements.

[0171] FIG. 8 is a schematic flowchart of another data processing method according to one or more  embodiments of the present disclosure. The method can be applied to a Bluetooth communication or other wireless communication, which is not limited here. In this embodiment, an example is taken where the at least one first channel includes one first channel, and a transmitting device modulates at least one original signal with a first modulation scheme to obtain at least one sensing signal with a constant amplitude. This method includes the following steps.

[0172] S801, a transmitting device generates at least one sensing signal.

[0173] In the embodiment, the transmitting device may generate at least one sensing signal. The at least one sensing signal may include one sensing signal or multiple sensing signals. When the transmitting device generates multiple sensing signals, different sensing signals have different frequencies, or, at least two of the multiple sensing signals have a same frequency.

[0174] In this embodiment, each of the at least one sensing signal has a constant (fixed) amplitude, and the transmitting device may modulate at least one original signal with a first modulation scheme to obtain the at least one sensing signal. For example, the first modulation scheme is GFSK modulation or MSK modulation.

[0175] It should be noted that when there are multiple sensing signals, in an implementation, each of the multiple sensing signals may be generated by using the same modulation scheme.

[0176] S802, the transmitter determines a time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal according to a sensing task.

[0177] In the embodiment, the transmitting device may determine a time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal according to the sensing task. In an implementation, the sensing task is at least one of human movement detection, detection for a vital sign of a human, or human presence detection. In an implementation, the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal is inversely proportional to a frequency corresponding to the sensing task. For example, when the sensing task is respiration detection, 20Hz packet rate over one channel can be set.

[0178] In an implementation, a time gap between each two adjacent data frames for the at least one sensing signal is a fixed time gap. For example, when the at least one sensing signal is used for one sensing task (such as, respiration detection) , the time gap between each two adjacent data frames can be a fixed value corresponding to the sensing task.

[0179] S803, the transmitter transmits first information to a receiving device, and the receiving device receives the first information.

[0180] In the embodiment, the transmitting device transmits first information to a receiving device, where the first information is indicative of a first channel and the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal. Correspondingly, the receiving device receives the first information from the transmitting device.

[0181] In an implementation, an index of the first channel is predefined. In this case, the first information indicative of the first channel can include the index of the predefined first channel.

[0182] S804, the transmitting device transmits the at least one sensing signal to the receiving device over the first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal, and the receiving device receives the at least one sensing signal from the transmitting device over the first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal.

[0183] In the embodiment, there may be two scenarios, namely scenario 1 and scenario 2.

[0184] In scenario 1, the at least one sensing signal transmitted over the first channel can include different  sensing signals. That is to say, the sensing signal transmitted over the first channel may have different frequencies or other properties. In practical applications, even though in Bluetooth technology there are 80 channels, the transmitting device may be simply authorized to use certain channels, for example, one channel, and the rest 79 channels are not available. In order to perform different sensing tasks, different sensing signals for different sensing tasks may be transmitted over one channel. In an implementation, the sensing task is at least one of human movement detection, detection for a vital sign of a human, or human presence detection. Time gaps between each two adjacent data frames for different sensing signals are different. For example, a first sensing signal and a second sensing signal are transmitted over the same channel. The first sensing signal is used for detecting human respiration and a time gap △t1 between each two adjacent data frames for the first sensing signal is set to 5ms. The second sensing signal is used for human walking speed, and a time gap △t2 between each two adjacent data frames for the second sensing signal is set to 0.5ms. In this case, even though there is simply one available channel, various sensing tasks can also be implemented.

[0185] In scenario 2, the at least one sensing signal transmitted over the first channel includes one sensing signal. That is to say, the at least one sensing signal transmitted over the first channel is dedicated to perform one sensing task. In an implementation, the at least one sensing signal remains a constant frequency. In another optional implementation, the frequency of the at least one sensing signal may change dynamically, to reduce power consumption. Specifically, the time gap between adjacent data frames can also change accordingly. For example, the time gap between adjacent data frames may be relatively low initially, at this time, the sensing signal is transmitted at a higher frequency, such as 200Hz. When the receiving device receives the sensing signal, the receiving device may determine that a current sensing task does not need to be performed using the sensing signal at the high frequency according to a sensing result. The receiving device can feed back to the transmitting device to increase the time gap between adjacent data frames to reduce the overhead.

[0186] S805, the receiving device detects an envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal based on the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal.

[0187] S806, the receiving device determines a sensing result based on the envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal.

[0188] In the embodiment, each of the at least one sensing signal transmitted has a constant amplitude. After receiving the at least one sensing signal, the receiving device can extract amplitude information of the received sensing signal, and can perform envelope detection. Related techniques in existing art for conducting such envelope  detection may be used here, details will be omitted for brevity.

[0189] In a traditional RSSI-based sensing method, RSSI is used to detect changes in the radio signal strength caused by specific movements. The receiving device needs to maintain a higher sampling rate or frequency to ensure accurate detection of micro movements (such as, hand gestures) . For example, if a person is waving his hand at a maximum frequency of 100 Hz, the receiving device would typically need to sample at a higher frequency, such as 200 Hz, to reliably detect and capture these signals. That is to say, the receiving device needs to continuously monitor changes in RSSI at a relatively high frequency, which may consume significant power and computational resources. If the receiving device cannot handle high-frequency signals, it may not be able to capture all the relevant changes in signal strength, resulting in missed or inaccurate detections. In comparison with the detection of RSSI, the envelope detection an envelope may be less power consuming since the frequency required for realizing the detection is relatively small.

[0190] Specific examples will be given in the following for the one first channel case.

[0191] FIG. 9 is a schematic diagram of sensing signal transmission over one Bluetooth channel according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 9, a sensing signal 90 with a frequency of f0 is transmitted over a first channel, and a time gap Δt between each two adjacent data frames for the sensing signal 90 is fixed. That is to say, for the sensing signal 90, a fixed channel and fixed time gap between two adjacent frames are maintained. Using a fixed time gap can simplify a signal processing required for analyzing a received signal, and can help with resource management in the communication system. It allows devices (both of the receiving device and the transmitting device) to allocate their resources efficiently, which can optimize the performance and energy consumption of the communication system. This manner is easy to implement, but may heavily affected by frequency selective fading.

[0192] FIG. 10 is a schematic diagram of an envelope of a received GFSK signal according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 10, the envelope of the received GFSK signal includes information of a target movement, such as human walking, or human respiration, etc. A GFSK signal transmitted by a transmitting device has a constant amplitude, and when the target within a range of a transmit-receive path between the transmitting device and a receiving device moves, movements of the target can be detected based on changes in the amplitude of the GFSK signal received by the receiving device. Therefore, by recovering the envelope, the sensing can be performed. In an implementation, the envelope of the received signal can be obtained by applying Hilbert transform.

[0193] FIG. 11 is a schematic diagram of an experiment result of human respiration sensing according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. A transmitting device transmits one GFSK signal over one Bluetooth channel to track human respiration. In the embodiment, a transmission frequency is 2490 MHz, the transmit signal power is 10 dBm, and a time gap Δt between each two adjacent data frames is equal to 0.002 seconds. As shown in FIG. 11, Hilbert transform is performed on the received GFSK signal, to obtain an envelope of the received GFSK signal. Target movements typically result in variations in the amplitude of the envelope. The envelope of the received GFSK signal can be then used for further analysis.

[0194] For the above scenario 1, the at least one sensing signal includes different sensing signals. The receiving device may extract an envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal. For each sensing signal, an individual envelope of the received signal can be obtained for further analysis. For the specific principle for obtaining each envelope and obtaining the sensing result, reference can be made to relevant description in scenario 1, which will not be repeated here.

[0195] In an implementation, the receiving device may monitor the envelope over time and analyze significant changes or deviations from the baseline. The envelope may be compared with a threshold value for detecting human movements. The threshold may be predefined to distinguish between movement and non-movement periods for the sensing task. The threshold value can be based on the amplitude range or rate of change in the envelope signal. The receiving device can detect variations in the amplitude of the envelope resulted by target movements by comparing the envelope signal against the defined movement threshold.

[0196] In an implementation, the receiving device may perform frequency demodulation before extracting the envelope. Frequency demodulation is a process that converts a modulated carrier signal into a baseband signal, where the envelope is more easily detectable. Related techniques in existing art for conducting such frequency demodulation may be used here, details will be omitted for brevity.

[0197] In the embodiment, a transmitting device generates at least one sensing signal, determines a time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal according to a sensing task, transmits to a receiving device first information indicative of a first channel and the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal, and transmits the at least one sensing signal to the receiving device over the first channel corresponding to the at least one sensing signal. The receiving device detects an envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal based on the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal, and determines a sensing result based on the envelope of each of  the at least one sensing signal. In the embodiment, one first channel is used for the transmission, thus reducing the implementation cost of the communication system and improving the compatibility of the device-free sensing method in various conditions. The use of a single channel and a predefined time gap information can make the method more flexible and adaptable to different sensing tasks and environments. It can also enable real-time adjustments to a sampling rate or other parameters based on changing conditions.

[0198] FIG. 12 is a schematic flowchart of still another data processing method according to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure. The method can be applied to a Bluetooth communication or other wireless communication, which is not limited here. In this embodiment, an example is taken where the at least one first channel includes multiple first channels, the at least one sensing signals include multiple sensing signals corresponding to the multiple first channels one-by-one, and a transmitting device modulates at least one original signal with a first modulation scheme to obtain at least one sensing signal with a constant amplitude.

[0199] This method includes the following steps.

[0200] S1201, a transmitting device generates multiple sensing signals.

[0201] In this embodiment, the transmitting device generates at least one sensing signal, and the at least one sensing signal includes multiple sensing signals. The multiple sensing signals may have different frequencies, or, at least two of the multiple sensing signals have the same frequency. The multiple sensing signals can be used for the same sensing task or for different sensing tasks. Flexibility to adapt to varying environmental conditions is improved. Here the multiple sensing signals may be the same sensing signal repeatedly transmitted over multiple first channels, or may be different sensing signals (e.g., some of them have different frequencies or all of them have different frequencies from each other) .

[0202] In this embodiment, each of the multiple sensing signal has a constant amplitude, and the transmitting device may modulate at least one original signal with a first modulation scheme to obtain the at least one sensing signal. For example, the first modulation scheme is GFSK modulation or MSK modulation.

[0203] S1202, the transmitter determines a time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the multiple sensing signals according to a sensing task.

[0204] In the embodiment, the transmitting device may determine a time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the multiple sensing signal according to the sensing task. In an implementation, the sensing task is at least one of human movement detection, detection for a vital sign of a human, or human presence detection. In an implementation, the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal is inversely proportional to a frequency corresponding to the sensing task. For example, when the sensing task is respiration detection, 20Hz packet rate over one channel can be set.

[0205] In an implementation, the time gap between each two adjacent data frames for a respective sensing signal of the multiple sensing signals is a fixed time gap, and time gaps between each two adjacent data frames for different sensing signals are same. By having the same time gaps between data frames for different sensing signals, interference from other sources can be effectively mitigated. The fixed time gap allows the receiving device to distinguish between the transmitted sensing signals and other ambient signals, reducing the chance of misinterpretation or confusion. A fixed time gap between data frames simplifies the receiving device’s data processing process, and the fixed time gap assists in accurate signal reconstruction at the receiving device end. When reconstructing the received signals, the fixed time gap enables precise alignment and interpolation between data frames, leading to better quality and fidelity in the reconstructed signal.

[0206] S1203, the transmitter determines multiple first channels according to the time gap between the each adjacent data frames for different sensing signals.

[0207] In an implementation, the multiple sensing signals are transmitted over the multiple first channels corresponding to the multiple sensing signals respectively in a time division multiplexing manner, in order to satisfy such requirement, the number of the multiple first channels each carrying a sensing signal would be determined based on the time gap between two adjacent data frames.

[0208] In this embodiment, the transmitting device may further determine the number of the multiple first channel according to the time gap between the each adjacent data frames for different sensing signals and at least one of channel conditions of candidate channels or a sensing requirement. Here the candidate channel may refer to an available channel whose channel condition is good enough (qualified) for transmitting a sensing signal. The sensing requirement may include performance requirement of the sensing process, the more channel used, the better performance will be achieved.

[0209] For example, when it is determined, according to the time gaps between the each two adjacent data frames for different sensing signals, that five first channels could be used, however, there are simply three first channels available, then the number of the multiple first channels used may be three. For another example, as described above, if the sensing requirement is not very high, even if three channels are available, it is still possible to simply use some of them for sensing.

[0210] For another example, the transmitting device may select a unique first channel for every sensing signal, which ensures that each sensing signal is allocated its dedicated channel. By selecting multiple first channels corresponding to the multiple sensing signals one-by-one, the transmitting device optimizes the utilization of available channels while addressing the individual requirements of each sensing signal. This method allows for better adaptability to channel variations.

[0211] In an implementation, the transmitting device may employ techniques such as channel estimation or signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) measurements to assess the channel conditions of candidate channels. This information can be obtained by analyzing received pilot signals or by periodically probing the channels, which is not limited here.

[0212] In an implementation, the transmitting device takes into account the specific requirements of the sensing task. This may include considerations such as coverage area, data rate, latency, reliability, or other application-specific constraints that influence the choice of channels.

[0213] In an implementation, the transmitting device may utilize a decision-making algorithm to determine the  multiple first channels. This algorithm may involve a combination of factors, including the measured channel conditions, an assigned priority weight, and any predefined rules or policies set by a system design.

[0214] When the multiple first channels are determined, the transmitting device allocates the respective sensing signals to their corresponding channels. This allocation may consider factors such as available bandwidth, channel capacity, and the desired distribution of sensing signals across channels.

[0215] S1204, the transmitter transmits first information to a receiving device, and the receiving device receives the first information.

[0216] Here the first information is indicative of the multiple first channels and the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the multiple sensing signals.

[0217] In an implementation, indices of the multiple first channels are predefined. The first information indicative of the multiple first channels can include indices of the predefined first channels.

[0218] By including the indices in the first information, the receiving device can properly associate each sensing signal with its corresponding predefined first channel.

[0219] S1205, the transmitting device transmits the multiple sensing signals to the receiving device over the first channels, and the receiving device receives the multiple sensing signals from the transmitting device over the multiple first channels.

[0220] Here the first channels correspond to the multiple sensing signals one-by-one. In this case, each predefined first channel corresponds to one specific sensing signal. The receiving device may monitor each of the predefined multiple first channels to receive each sensing signal one-by-one.

[0221] In an implementation, the transmitting device transmits the multiple sensing signals to the receiving device over the multiple first channels corresponding to the multiple sensing signals respectively in a time division multiplexing (TDM) manner. In the TDM manner, the multiple sensing signals are divided into fixed time slots, and each signal is transmitted during its assigned time slot. The receiving device then extracts the individual signals from the composite signal using their respective time slots. By using TDM, the system can transmit multiple sensing signals over the same physical medium, which can help reducing the cost and complexity of the communication system.

[0222] FIG. 13 is a schematic diagram of sensing signal transmission over two Bluetooth channels according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 13, a sensing signal 131 is transmitted over a Channel 0 and has a frequency of f0, and a sensing signal 132 is transmitted over a Channel 1 and has a frequency f1. Time  gaps Δt between each two adjacent data frames for the sensing signal 131 and the sensing signal 132 are the same. The receiving device would need to listen on each of the predefined multiple first channels (e.g., sequentially) to receive each sensing signal one-by-one. The receiving device would need to listen on Channel 0 to receive the sensing signal 131 and on Channel 1 to receive the sensing signal 132. By maintaining the same time gaps between the data frames of each sensing signal, the receiving device can synchronize its reception and processing accordingly. By utilizing two different channels, the system takes advantage of the fact that fading and interference can affect different frequencies differently. If one channel experiences fading or interference, there is a chance that the other channel may remain relatively unaffected. This increases the likelihood of successful reception for the multiple sensing signals. Since two fixed channels and a fixed time gap between adjacent frames at each channel are maintained, simple frequency diversity gain can be achieved with this method.

[0223] FIG. 14 is a schematic diagram of sensing signal transmission over multiple Bluetooth channels according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 14, a sensing signal 141 is transmitted over a Channel 0 and has a frequency of f0, a sensing signal 142 is transmitted over a Channel 1 and has a frequency f1, and a sensing signal 143 is transmitted over a Channel N and has a frequency fN. Time gaps Δt between each two adjacent data frames for all sensing signals are the same. The receiving device would need to listen on each of the predefined multiple first channels sequentially to receive each sensing signal one-by-one. This method aligns with the need for higher temporal resolution for higher-frequency components in tasks such as sensing movement or respiration. By reducing the time gap between frames for higher-frequency sensing signals, the system can capture more frequent samples, allowing for better resolution and accuracy in capturing fast-changing phenomena. Hence, a larger time gap between frames can be used without sacrificing the accuracy of the sensed data. By maintaining N fixed channels and fixed time gap between frames at each channel, the method achieves both frequency diversity gain and appropriate temporal resolution for sensing movement or respiration. It should be noted that even though transmission over more first channels can achieve frequency diversity gain, but time gap cannot be too big for sensing of movement or respiration. That is to say, the time gap needs to be set according to the sensing task.

[0224] It should be noted that, the receiving device needs to be aware of the order in which the multiple sensing signals are transmitted and which predefined first channel corresponds to each sensing signal. This information may be communicated to the receiving device through the first information, as discussed above.

[0225] S1206, the receiving device detects an envelope of each of the multiple sensing signal based on the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal.

[0226] S1207, the receiving device determines a sensing result based on the envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal.

[0227] In the embodiment, multiple sensing signals are transmitted over the multiple first channels, the receiving device receives the multiple sensing signals. The receiving device may detect an envelope for each of the multiple sensing signals over the multiple first channels, combine the envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal to form a combined envelope, and perform a preset transform algorithm on the combined envelop to obtain the sensing result. For the specific method for obtaining an envelope for each sensing signal, reference can be made to the method in the case of one first channel, which will not be repeated here.

[0228] The receiving device can perform the preset transform algorithm on the combined envelop to obtain the sensing result, where the preset transform algorithm may include Fourier transforms, wavelet transforms, Hilbert transforms, or other mathematical techniques that can analyze the combined envelope to extract relevant information. In an implementation, the receiving device may normalize each envelope and then combine the normalized envelopes.

[0229] In an implementation, before generation the at least one sensing signal, the transmitting device may determine a sensing mode. In an optional implementation, the sensing mode can include a single channel mode (in which the transmitting device performs transmission over one channel) and a multiple channel mode (in which the transmitting device performs transmission over multiple channels) . For example, the transmitting device can determine the sensing mode according to at least one of the following: a sensing requirement of a current sensing task, a channel condition, an available bandwidth for transmission, power consumption, or system capability. For example, the transmitting device may analyze sensing requirements of the sensing task at hand. If the sensing task demands simultaneous transmission and reception of multiple sensing signals, the transmitting device may determine the multiple channel mode as the sensing mode to be operated.

[0230] For another example, the transmitting device may consider the available bandwidth for transmission. If the bandwidth is sufficient to accommodate multiple sensing signals simultaneously, the multiple channel mode can be selected. If there is limited bandwidth or congestion, the single channel mode may be preferred to avoid interference or performance degradation.

[0231] For still another example, the transmitting device may consider capabilities of the entire communication system, including the receiving device and any additional processing units. If the receiving device or downlink processing units can handle multiple channels efficiently, the multiple channel mode can be employed. Conversely, if the communication system is better suited for processing one sensing signal at a time, the single channel mode can  be selected.

[0232] In the embodiment, a transmitting device generates multiple sensing signals, determines a time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the multiple sensing signals according to a sensing task, determines multiple first channels according to the time gap between the each adjacent data frames for different sensing signals, and the transmitting device transmits to a receiving device first information which is indicative of at least one first channel and the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal; and the transmitting device transmits the multiple sensing signals to the receiving device over the first channels which correspond to the multiple sensing signals one-by-one. The receiving device detects an envelope of each of the multiple sensing signal based on the time gap between the each two adjacent data frames for each of the at least one sensing signal, and determines a sensing result based on the envelope of each of the at least one sensing signal. By maintaining multiple first channels and fixed time gap between frames at each channel, frequency diversity gain can be achieved, and the accuracy of sensing result determination can be enhanced.

[0233] Next, embodiments of products related to the wireless communication methods will be described.
