Description

Massage module

[0001] The present invention relates to a massage module, and more particularly, to a massage module configured to effectively massage the muscles of a subject in a traction device.

[0002] Lumbago, a common symptom of lower back pain, is a disease inherent to humans, unlike other animals, who evolved to be bipedal. Approximately 80% of the population, regardless of age or gender, suffers from lumbago. Furthermore, in addition to the aforementioned lumbago, the widespread use of smartphones has led to a rise in cervical pain, also known as "straight neck" (or "turtle neck"), due to prolonged head-down posture. This spinal condition is particularly prevalent among workers who carry heavy loads, office workers who spend most of their time sitting in poor posture at a chair or computer, and housewives who spend long hours standing at the sink. The causes of these spinal conditions vary, including disc disease, ankylosing spondylitis, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, spondylolysis, internal disc herniation, acute and chronic lumbar sprains, straight neck, and turtle neck. However, most cases are accompanied by stiffness in the muscles that support the spine, and relaxing these muscles can significantly alleviate the condition.

[0003] Recently, various methods have been studied to effectively improve the aforementioned spinal conditions, one of which is spinal decompression physical therapy using spinal traction. The basic principles of spinal traction have long been practiced by chiropractors, osteopaths, and other properly trained health professionals. Both traction and decompression therapy are applied with the goal of relieving pain and promoting an optimal healing environment for disc bulges, degenerative discs, or herniated discs. Pain is relieved by creating negative pressure within the disc, which promotes shrinkage or repositioning of the herniated or bulging disc material and / or the creation of low pressure within the disc, which promotes the influx of healing nutrients and other substances into the disc. Additionally, spinal decompression is used to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or one or more compressed nerve roots passing through the spine. Decompression of spinal nerve components is a key component in the treatment of spinal disorders such as radiculopathy, myelopathy, and claudication. Spinal decompression therapy involves stretching the spine using traction or electrical devices, with the goal of relieving back pain.

[0004] However, if spinal decompression therapy is performed without sufficiently relaxing the spinal muscles, it can have the adverse effect of causing them to contract unexpectedly. This sudden contraction can actually lead to back injury. Therefore, prior to spinal decompression, research should be conducted on massage modules that effectively relax the muscles surrounding the spine, particularly those that effectively relax the deep muscles close to the spine.

[0030]

[0031] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a traction device utilizing a massage module according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the massage module.

[0032]

[0033] A massage module (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a driving part (100) that can move along a rail (R) and a massage module part (200) formed on the driving part (100) to press the back of a subject, and the massage module part (200) is configured such that a plurality of massage wheels form one wheel structure (210) in the width direction of the massage module part (1), and the wheel structures (210) are configured in pairs based on the width direction center of the module part.

[0034]

[0035] A massage module (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a driving unit (100) and a massage module unit (200).

[0036] The driving unit (100) is configured to move along a rail (R) and is configured to allow the massage module (1) to move toward the subject's waist. The driving unit (1000) may be configured with a rail connection unit that is directly connected to the rail (R) and a wheel unit that moves so that the height can be adjusted according to the height of the chin in a part other than the rail, but is not limited thereto.

[0037] If the driving unit (100) is described in more detail, the driving unit (100) may include a support plate (110), a driving wheel (120), a height adjustment wheel (130), and a support plate tilting unit (140). Referring to FIG. 2, the support plate (110) is a central component that supports the massage module unit (200) and to which other components are connected. The driving wheel (120) is configured to minimize the frictional force that the driving unit (100) that moves along the rail (R) receives from other structures. The height adjustment wheel (130) is a component used when the pressure applied to the subject is to be varied by adjusting the height of the massage module (1). The height of the massage module (1) is adjusted when the height adjustment wheel (130) goes over the ledges arranged on both sides of the width of the rail (R). The support plate tilting part (140) is configured to correspond to the fact that the angle between the two support plates (110) of Fig. 2 can be bent according to the movement of the height adjustment wheel (130). A height adjustment wheel (130) is formed at the end of the support plate tilting part (140), and the height adjustment wheel (130) tilts the support plate tilting part (140) according to the change in height, thereby changing the angle between the two support plates (110).

[0038] The massage module (200) is configured to pressurize the back of the subject and is composed of a pair of wheel structures (210). The wheel structures (210) may be formed as a pair symmetrically arranged around the rail (R) in the width direction of the module (200) perpendicular to the driving direction of the driving unit (100). The wheel structure (210) is characterized by having a plurality of massage wheels formed therein, as can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 3. The plurality of massage wheels may be formed to have different sizes depending on the size of the back muscles, which will be described in detail below.

[0039]

[0040] In a massage module (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention, the massage module part (200) may further include a gap adjustment part (300) configured to adjust the widthwise distance between the pair of wheel structures (210).

[0041]

[0042] Referring to Fig. 3, a massage module (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include a spacing adjustment unit (300). Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the massage module (1) taken in the width direction. The wheel structure (210) of the present invention can move in the width direction. This is to enable movement in the width direction to accommodate the differences in spine size and muscle size for each subject.

[0043]

[0044] In a massage module (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention, the wheel structure (210) may include a first wheel (211) formed closest to the widthwise center and having the smallest wheel size, a second wheel (212) formed farthest from the widthwise center and having the middle wheel size, and a third wheel (213) formed between the first wheel and the second wheel and having the largest wheel size.

[0045]

[0046] The wheel structure (210) of the massage module according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a first wheel (211), a second wheel (212), and a third wheel (213). Referring to Fig. 3, among these, the first wheel (211) is formed to have the smallest size, the third wheel (213) is formed to have the largest size, and the second wheel (212) is formed to have an intermediate size.

[0047] The first wheel (211) is formed closest to the center of the width direction of the massage module (100). Therefore, the first wheel (211) is positioned closest to the spine, and is positioned so as to stimulate the deep muscles located very close to the spine. Accordingly, the first wheel (211) is formed to be as small as possible to effectively relax the deep muscles.

[0048] The second wheel (212) is configured to massage the outer part of the waist and is positioned furthest from the center in the width direction. Since the second wheel (212) is positioned on the outer part of the waist of the subject, it is formed to be of medium size.

[0049] The third wheel (213) is positioned between the first wheel (211) and the second wheel (212) to apply pressure to the trapezius and erector spinae muscles, which are the largest muscles in the back. Therefore, the third wheel (213) is formed to be the largest in size because it must massage the largest muscles.

[0050]

[0051] In a massage module (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention, the massage module part (200) may further include a wheel tilting part (400) that allows the first wheel (211) to move upward or downward by tilting the wheel structure (210) in the width direction.

[0052]

[0053] Referring to FIG. 3, a massage module (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include a wheel tilting unit (400). The wheel tilting unit (400) is configured to allow the first wheel (211) to move upward or downward. Due to the configuration of the wheel tilting unit (400), the deep muscle stimulation function of the first wheel (211) is further enhanced. The wheel tilting unit (400) enables the wheel structure (210) to tilt in the width direction, thereby enabling the first wheel (211) to move up and down.

[0054]

[0055] The wheel tilting part (400) of the massage module (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a first tilting member (410) that causes upward or downward movement of the first wheel (211) and a second tilting member (420) that causes upward or downward movement of the third wheel (213).

[0056]

[0057] Referring to FIG. 3, the wheel tilting part (400) of the massage module (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a first tilting member (410) and a second tilting member (420).

[0058] The first tilting member (410) is configured to cause upward or downward movement of the first wheel (211). Referring to FIG. 3 as an example, the first tilting member (410) can be coupled to the lower portion of the support plate (110) corresponding to the first wheel (211). Accordingly, as one end of the support plate (110) moves up and down due to the movement of the first tilting member (410), upward or downward movement of the first wheel (211) can be created.

[0059] The second tilting member (420) is configured to cause upward or downward movement of the third wheel (213). Referring to Fig. 3 as an example, the second tilting member (420) can be coupled to the lower portion of the support plate (110) corresponding to the third wheel (213). Accordingly, the movement of the second tilting member (410) causes the other end of the support plate (110) to move up and down, thereby causing upward or downward movement of the third wheel (213).

[0060]

[0061] The maximum tilting amount of the first tilting member (410) may vary depending on the height ratio of the second wheel (212) and the first wheel (211) of the present invention. For example, the maximum height of the first wheel (211) should be set to be 10% to 20% higher than the height of the second wheel (212), so that the first wheel (211) can efficiently stimulate deep muscles. The height of the first wheel (211) may be formed to be 0.8 to 0.9 times the height of the second wheel (212). When the height of the first wheel (211) is formed to be less than 0.8 times that of the second wheel (212), when the first tilting member (410) operates to move the support plate (110) to pressurize the deep muscles of the first wheel (211), the position of the third wheel (213) may be excessively lowered as a reaction, thereby reducing the massage efficiency. In addition, when the height of the first wheel (211) is formed to be more than 0.9 times that of the second wheel (212), the force with which the second wheel (212) presses large muscles such as the erector spinae may be weakened due to the first wheel (211). When the height of the first wheel (211) is formed to be 0.8 times higher than the height of the second wheel (212), the height to which the first wheel (211) can rise due to the maximum rise of the first tilting member (410) is limited to be formed to be 1.1 times higher than the height of the second wheel (212), which is to prevent the third wheel (213) from being excluded from the massage function due to being too low. In addition, when the height of the first wheel (211) is formed to be 0.9 times higher than the height of the second wheel (212), the height to which the first wheel (211) can rise due to the maximum rise of the first tilting member (410) is limited to be formed to be 1.2 times higher than the height of the second wheel (212), which is also to prevent the third wheel (213) from being excluded from the massage function due to being too low.

[0062]

[0063] Although the present invention has been described in detail through specific examples, this is intended to specifically explain the present invention, and the present invention is not limited thereto, and it will be apparent that modifications and improvements can be made by those skilled in the art within the technical spirit of the present invention.

[0064] All simple modifications or changes of the present invention fall within the scope of the present invention, and the specific protection scope of the present invention will be made clear by the appended claims.
