Description

Oil-based cosmetic composition and water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic composition

[0001] The present invention relates to an oil-based cosmetic composition and a water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic composition.

[0002] To date, many oil-based or water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic compositions containing a film-forming agent have been reported.

[0003] For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic containing the following components (A), (B), (C), and (D): (A) 0.1 to 10 mass% of a non-volatile phenyl-modified silicone, (B) 0.01 to 30 mass% of an ester oil selected from pentaerythritol fatty acid esters and dipentaerythritol fatty acid esters that are liquid at 25°C, (C) 0.01 to 20 mass% of a film-forming agent, and (D) 1 to 20 mass% of a hydrophobically treated color pigment.

[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2020-186217

[0005] In cosmetics containing the above-mentioned film-forming agent and surface-treated pigment particles, although the incorporation of the film-forming agent ensures the water resistance of the cosmetics, there is a known problem that the surface-treated pigment particles bleed out from the film-forming agent due to oils such as sebum from the skin, i.e., poor oil resistance.

[0006] Furthermore, in such cosmetics, depending on the type of surface treatment of the pigment particles, the dispersibility in the oil and / or film-forming agent may be poor, which may result in uneven color.

[0007] The present invention aims to improve the above-mentioned circumstances, and its object is to provide an oil-based cosmetic composition and a water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic composition in which the dispersion of the surface-treated pigment particles contained therein is ensured while the bleeding of the pigment particles is suppressed (i.e., excellent oil resistance).

[0008] The present invention that achieves the above object is as follows.

[0009] <Aspect 1> An oil-based cosmetic composition or a water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic composition, comprising, as oil phase components: (A) surface-treated pigment particles, (B) a silicone film-forming agent, and (C) an oil component, wherein the surface-treated pigment particles have been surface-treated with an ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin, and the oil component comprises at least one of a volatile oil and a non-volatile oil. <Aspect 2> The composition according to Aspect 1, wherein the ester compound is at least one selected from the group consisting of diglyceryl tetraisostearate, diglyceryl triisostearate, caprylic / capric triglyceride, glyceryl dilaurate, glyceryl triisostearate, decaglyceryl monoisostearate, and decaglyceryl diisostearate. <Aspect 3> The composition according to Aspect 1 or 2, wherein the content of the silicone film-forming agent is 1.0 to 20 mass%. Aspect 4: The composition according to any one of Aspects 1 to 3, wherein, when the oil component includes the non-volatile oil component, the content ratio of the silicone film-forming agent to the non-volatile oil component (mass of the silicone film-forming agent / mass of the non-volatile oil component) is 0.6 or more. Aspect 5: The composition according to any one of Aspects 1 to 4, wherein the content of the surface-treated pigment particles is 0.5 to 20 mass%. Aspect 6: The composition according to any one of Aspects 1 to 5, wherein the silicone film-forming agent includes trimethylsiloxysilicate. Aspect 7: A cosmetic for eyelashes or eyebrows, comprising the composition according to any one of Aspects 1 to 6. Aspect 8: The cosmetic according to Aspect 7, which is a mascara and wherein the oil component includes a volatile oil component. Aspect 9: The cosmetic according to Aspect 8, wherein the content of the volatile oil component relative to the oil component is 80 mass% or more. Aspect 10: A foundation, comprising the composition according to any one of Aspects 1 to 6.

[0010] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an oil-based cosmetic composition and a water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic composition that have excellent oil resistance while ensuring the dispersibility of the surface-treated pigment particles that are blended therein.

[0011] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the preferred embodiments. However, the present invention is not limited to the following embodiments, and various modifications can be made within the scope of the present invention.

[0012] <<Composition of the Present Invention>> The composition of the present invention is an oil-based cosmetic composition or a water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic composition, which comprises, as oil phase components, (A) surface-treated pigment particles, (B) a silicone-based film-forming agent, and (C) an oil component, wherein the surface-treated pigment particles have been surface-treated with an ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin, and wherein the oil component comprises at least one of a volatile oil component and a non-volatile oil component.

[0013] In the present invention, the oil-based cosmetic composition refers to a cosmetic composition having a single oil phase. However, in the present invention, the oil-based cosmetic composition may contain a small or appropriate amount of water or aqueous components (for example, 5.0% by mass or less, 2.0% by mass or less, 1.0% by mass or less, 0.5% by mass or less, 0.1% by mass or less, 0.01% by mass or less, or 0.001% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the composition).

[0014] In the present invention, the oil phase component refers to a component that constitutes the oil phase, and when the composition of the present invention is a water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic composition, the oil phase component constitutes the external phase.

[0015] The composition of the present invention can suppress bleeding of the surface-treated pigment particles contained therein while ensuring the dispersibility of the pigment particles, i.e., has excellent oil resistance. Without being limited by theory, this is thought to be due to the following reasons.

[0016] When a cosmetic composition containing surface-treated pigment particles, a silicone-based film-forming agent, and an oil is applied to an object (e.g., skin, eyelashes, etc.), after volatilization of volatile components in the composition (e.g., volatile oils, water, etc.), a film of oil phase components formed by the silicone-based film-forming agent is formed on the surface of the object, and the surface-treated pigment particles are thought to be trapped within the film. In this case, in order to improve the dispersibility of the surface-treated pigment particles in the silicone-based film-forming agent, for example, it is conceivable to use pigment particles surface-treated with a silicone-based surface-treating agent that is thought to be compatible with the silicone-based film-forming agent. However, through extensive research by the present inventors, it has been found that while the use of pigment particles surface-treated with a silicone-based surface-treating agent can improve the dispersibility of the pigment particles in the silicone-based film-forming agent, when the coating thus obtained comes into contact with oils such as sebum on the skin, the pigment particles tend to bleed out of the silicone-based film-forming agent.

[0017] As described above, it has not been easy to simultaneously improve the dispersibility of surface-treated pigment particles and suppress bleeding of the surface-treated pigment particles.

[0018] Therefore, through further intensive research by the present inventors, it was found that, rather than simply improving the dispersibility of surface-treated pigment particles in a silicone-based film-forming agent, it is possible to suppress bleeding of the surface-treated pigment particles from the silicone-based film-forming agent by adjusting the dispersibility to an appropriate level. More specifically, by deliberately selecting pigment particles that have been treated with a specific surface treatment agent other than a silicone-based one for the silicone-based film-forming agent, it was possible to suppress bleeding of the pigment particles from the silicone-based film-forming agent while ensuring a certain degree of dispersibility.

[0019] In other words, by using pigment particles treated with a specific surface treatment agent in combination with a silicone-based film-forming agent, the present inventors were able to obtain a composition of the present invention that exhibits excellent oil resistance while ensuring the dispersibility of the surface-treated pigment particles.

[0020] The components of the composition of the present invention are described in detail below.

[0021] (A) Surface-treated pigment particles The composition of the present invention contains surface-treated pigment particles as an oil phase component. The surface-treated pigment particles used in the present invention are surface-treated with an ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin. Here, the ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin is also simply referred to as the "ester compound of the present invention."

[0022] In the composition of the present invention, the content of the surface-treated pigment particles is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, 0.5% by mass or more, 1.0% by mass or more, 1.5% by mass or more, 2.0% by mass or more, 2.5% by mass or more, 3.0% by mass or more, 3.5% by mass or more, 4.0% by mass or more, 4.5% by mass or more, or 5.0% by mass or more, relative to the entire composition, and may be 20% by mass or less, 18% by mass or less, 16% by mass or less, 14% by mass or less, 12% by mass or less, 10% by mass or less, 8.0% by mass or less, or 6.0% by mass or less.

[0027] The method for surface treatment of pigment particles using the ester compound according to the present invention is not particularly limited, and for example, the "Method for producing a powder material for cosmetics" disclosed in WO 2022 / 030462 may be referred to as appropriate.

[0028] In the present invention, any pigment particles can be used for the surface treatment, regardless of their shape (spherical, rod-like, needle-like, plate-like, irregular, scaly, spindle-like, etc.), particle size (aerosol-like, fine particles, pigment-grade, etc.), or particle structure (porous, non-porous, etc.). Examples of pigment particles that can be used for the surface treatment include, but are not limited to, inorganic pigment powders (including natural mineral pigments or synthetic inorganic pigments, etc.), organic dyes, and organic pigment particles.

[0034] <(B) Silicone-Based Film-Forming Agent> The composition of the present invention contains a silicone-based film-forming agent as an oil phase component.

[0035] In the present invention, the term "silicone-based film-forming agent" refers to a film-forming agent containing silicone as the main component, and therefore refers to, for example, a film-forming agent that is a polymer having a silicone moiety in the main chain or a graft polymer containing a silicone moiety. However, it does not intend, for example, a film-forming agent of a polysaccharide in which silicone groups have been introduced only as side chains or terminal groups (such as silicone-modified pullulan).

[0036] Therefore, in the present invention, the silicone-based film-forming agent may include, for example, at least one selected from the group consisting of trimethylsiloxysilicate, fluorine-modified alkyldimethylsiloxysilicate, (trimethylsiloxysilicate / dimethiconol) crosspolymer, (alkyl acrylate / dimethicone) copolymer, and polymethylsilsesquioxane.

[0037] In the composition of the present invention, the content of the silicone-based film-forming agent is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, 1.0 mass% or more, 1.5 mass% or more, 2.0 mass% or more, 2.5 mass% or more, 3.0 mass% or more, 3.5 mass% or more, 4.0 mass% or more, 4.5 mass% or more, or 5.0 mass% or more, relative to the entire composition, and may be 20 mass% or less, 18 mass% or less, 16 mass% or less, 14 mass% or less, 12 mass% or less, 10 mass% or less, 8.0 mass% or less, or 6.0 mass% or less.

[0038] Furthermore, in the composition of the present invention, the content ratio of the silicone film-forming agent to the surface-treated pigment particles (mass of silicone film-forming agent / mass of surface-treated pigment particles) is not particularly limited and may be, for example, 0.5 or more, 0.6 or more, 0.7 or more, 0.8 or more, 0.9 or more, or 1.0 or more, and may be 5.0 or less, 4.5 or less, 4.0 or less, 3.0 or less, 2.0 or less, or 1.0 or less.

[0039] Furthermore, in the composition of the present invention, the content of the silicone film-forming agent relative to 100 parts by mass of the oil phase component may be, for example, 2.0 parts by mass or more, 3.0 parts by mass or more, 4.0 parts by mass or more, or 5.0 parts by mass or more, and may be 20 parts by mass or less, 15 parts by mass or less, 10 parts by mass or less, or 8.0 parts by mass or less.

[0040] Furthermore, in the composition of the present invention, the content of the silicone film-forming agent relative to 100 parts by mass of the oil phase components after excluding volatile components may be, for example, 5.0 parts by mass or more, 8.0 parts by mass or more, 10 parts by mass or more, 11 parts by mass or more, 12 parts by mass or more, 13 parts by mass or more, 14 parts by mass or more, 15 parts by mass or more, 16 parts by mass or more, 17 parts by mass or more, 18 parts by mass or more, 19 parts by mass or more, 20 parts by mass or more, or 21 parts by mass or more, and may be 30 parts by mass or less, 25 parts by mass or less, or 22 parts by mass or less. Here, volatile components refer to, for example, volatile oils, water, etc., when these components are included.

[0041] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the silicone-based film-forming agent preferably comprises trimethylsiloxysilicate.

[0042] In the present invention, the weight-average molecular weight of trimethylsiloxysilicate is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, 5,000 or more, 7,000 or more, or 10,000 or more, or 50,000 or less. For example, from the viewpoint of imparting a longer-lasting cosmetic effect to eyelashes and eyeliners, trimethylsiloxysilicate having a weight-average molecular weight of 5,000 or more is preferred. The weight-average molecular weight is a polystyrene-equivalent value measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC).

[0043] The trimethylsiloxysilicate may be one produced by a known method, or a commercially available product.

[0044] <Oil> The composition of the present invention contains an oil as an oil phase component.

[0045] In the present invention, the term "oil" refers to an oily medium, but does not include functional oil phase components such as film-forming agents, gelling agents, and surfactants.

[0047] In the present invention, the oil may comprise at least one of a volatile oil and a non-volatile oil. Of course, in the composition of the present invention, the oil may comprise only a volatile oil, only a non-volatile oil, or a mixture of a volatile oil and a non-volatile oil.

[0048] In the present invention, "volatile" oil means oil having a boiling point of 260°C or less at normal pressure (1 atmosphere). Correspondingly, in the present invention, "non-volatile" oil means oil having a boiling point of more than 260°C at normal pressure (1 atmosphere).

[0049] In the present invention, the volatile oil is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include, but are not limited to, volatile hydrocarbon oils and volatile silicone oils.

The IOB value of the polar oil according to the present invention may be 0.50 or less, 0.45 or less, or 0.40 or less. The IOB value is an abbreviation for Inorganic / Organic Balance (inorganic / organic ratio), and is a value that represents the ratio of the inorganic value to the organic value, and serves as an index of the degree of polarity of an organic compound. Specifically, the IOB value is expressed as IOB value = inorganic value / organic value. The "inorganic value" and "organic value" are set according to the type of atom or functional group, such as 20 for one carbon atom in a molecule and 100 for one hydroxyl group. The IOB value of an organic compound can be calculated by integrating the "inorganic values" and "organic values" of all atoms and functional groups in the organic compound (see, for example, "Organic Conceptual Diagram - Fundamentals and Applications" by Yoshio Koda, pp. 11-17, Sankyo Publishing, 1984).

[0057] Specific examples of ester oils that can be used as polar oils in the present invention include isodecyl neopentanoate, tripropylene glycol dineopentanoate, isononyl isononanoate, isopropyl myristate, cetyl octanoate, octyldodecyl myristate, isopropyl palmitate, butyl stearate, hexyl laurate, myristyl myristate, decyl oleate, hexyldecyl dimethyloctanoate, cetyl lactate, myristyl lactate, lanolin acetate, isocetyl stearate, isocetyl isostearate, cholesteryl 12-hydroxystearate, cetyl ethylhexanoate, ethylene glycol di-2-ethylhexanoate, dipentaerythritol fatty acid esters, N-alkyl glycol monoisostearate, neopentyl glycol dicaprate, diisostearyl malate, glycerin di-2-heptylundecanoate, trimethylolpropane tri-2-ethylhexanoate, and trimethylolpropane triisostearate. [0060] Examples of semi-solid oils include, but are not limited to, petrolatum, lanolin, shea butter, vegetable oils such as partially hydrogenated coconut oil, partially hydrogenated jojoba oil, bisdiglyceryl polyacyladipate-2, pentaerythrityl tetra(behenate / benzoate / ethylhexanoate), macadamia nut oil polyglyceryl-6-esters behenate, phytosteryl / behenyl dimer dilinoleate, and dipentaerythritol hexaoxystearate.

[0061] In the composition of the present invention, when the oil component contains a non-volatile oil, the content ratio of the silicone film-forming agent to the non-volatile oil (mass of silicone film-forming agent / mass of non-volatile oil) is not particularly limited and may be, for example, 0.6 or more, 0.7 or more, 0.8 or more, 0.9 or more, or 1.0 or more. Here, since the composition of the present invention does not need to contain a non-volatile oil, there is no particular upper limit to the value of this content ratio.

[0062] In the present invention, whether or not the oil component contains a volatile oil may be appropriately adjusted based on the purpose and use of the composition. [0091] Examples 1 to 6 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 Oil-based cosmetic compositions of Examples 1 to 6 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 were prepared based on the formulations in Table 1. For each of the prepared compositions, oil resistance and dispersibility of pigment particles were evaluated according to the following criteria, and the results are shown in Table 1.

[0092] <Evaluation of Oil Resistance> The compositions obtained in the Examples and Comparative Examples were evaluated using the following tapping test. The evaluation criteria are as follows: "Tapping test" A sample was placed on a white artificial leather (4 cm 2 ) at 4 mg / cm 2 The artificial leather is then bent with the coated surface facing inward and left at room temperature for 60 minutes. The coated surface is then attached to a tapping tester with the coated surface facing outward, and the test piece is tapped 30 times against a filter paper soaked in olive oil (N=3). The secondary adhesion-free effect was visually evaluated based on the degree of adhesion of the sample to the filter paper after tapping. "Evaluation criteria" A: Almost no adhesion is observed; B: Slight adhesion is observed, but at a satisfactory level; C: Unacceptable adhesion is observed.

[0093] <Evaluation of Dispersibility of Pigment Particles> The dispersibility of black iron oxide was evaluated by the following method using the black iron oxide and hydrogenated polyisobutene described in the Examples and Comparative Examples. The evaluation criteria are as follows: "Pigment Dispersibility Evaluation Test" 300 g of hydrogenated polyisobutene and 50 g of surface-treated or untreated black iron oxide were mixed in a homomixer at room temperature (5,000 rpm for 5 minutes), and the resulting dispersion was evaluated visually. A: A uniform dispersion without agglomerates was obtained. B: A dispersion containing small agglomerates was obtained. C: A dispersion containing large agglomerates was obtained.

[0094]

[0095] As is clear from Table 1, it was found that all of the compositions of Examples 1 to 6 had good dispersibility of pigment particles and excellent oil resistance.

[0096] In contrast, the compositions of Comparative Examples 1 and 4 had good dispersibility of pigment particles, but were found to have poor oil resistance.

[0097] Furthermore, the compositions of Comparative Examples 2 and 3 were found to have good oil resistance but poor pigment particle dispersibility.

[0098] Examples 7 to 14 Oil-based cosmetic compositions of Examples 7 to 14 were prepared based on the formulations in Table 2, and the oil resistance and dispersibility of pigment particles were evaluated in the same manner as above. The evaluation results are shown in Table 2.
