Abstract
Description
Cosmetic composition
[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition.
[0002] Known cosmetics containing pigment particles include makeup cosmetics such as makeup base, foundation, powder, blush, eye shadow, lipstick, eyeliner, and eyebrow pencil, and skin care cosmetics such as whitening cosmetics and UV care cosmetics.
[0003] Such cosmetics often contain pigment particles and oils. However, pigment particles that have not been surface-treated, especially pigment particles containing metal elements, can deteriorate other components of the cosmetics. For this reason, surface-treated pigment particles are often used.
[0004] For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a powder material for cosmetics that includes a powder for cosmetics that has been surface-treated with an ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin.
[0005] Furthermore, Patent Document 2 discloses a cosmetic powder that is surface-treated with an ester compound of isostearic acid and diglycerin.
[0006] International Publication No. 2022 / 030462 Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2023-007281
[0007] When surface-treated pigment particles are dispersed in oil and blended into cosmetics such as foundation, poor dispersibility can lead to uneven color due to the surface-treated pigment particles. Therefore, the surface-treated pigment particles are required to have excellent dispersibility in oil.
[0008] On the other hand, when a cosmetic product such as a foundation containing such pigment particles is applied to the skin, the pigment particles contained therein may re-adhere from the skin to a mask, clothing, etc. (the so-called "secondary adhesion problem"), which must be taken into consideration.
[0009] Therefore, it is necessary to achieve both the dispersibility of surface-treated pigment particles in oil and the secondary adhesion-resistance effect.
[0010] The present invention aims to improve the above-mentioned circumstances, and its object is to provide a cosmetic composition in which pigment particles are blended in an oil component, which improves the dispersibility of the pigment particles while also improving the secondary adhesion-resistant effect.
[0011] The present invention that achieves the above object is as follows.

[0013] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a cosmetic composition in which pigment particles are blended in an oil component, and which improves the dispersibility of the pigment particles while also improving the secondary adhesion-resistant effect.
[0014] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the preferred embodiments. However, the present invention is not limited to the following embodiments, and various modifications can be made within the scope of the present invention.
[0015] <<Cosmetic Composition>> The cosmetic composition of the present invention (hereinafter also simply referred to as "the composition of the present invention") is a cosmetic composition comprising the following components: (A) pigment particles that have been surface-treated with an ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin, (B) an oil component including at least one type of silicone oil, and (C) at least one of a silicone-based dispersant having an HLB value of 2.5 or more and 7.5 or less and an amodimethicone dispersant.
[0016] The composition of the present invention can achieve both the dispersibility of pigment particles in oil and the secondary adhesion-resisting effect.
[0017] In the present invention, the "secondary adhesion-free effect" refers to, in contrast to the above-mentioned "secondary adhesion problem," the effect that even when a cosmetic containing pigment particles is applied to the skin and the mask or clothing comes into contact with the mask or clothing, the pigment particles contained therein are less likely to adhere to the mask or clothing, preferably no adhesion at all. The secondary adhesion-free effect can be evaluated, for example, by the method shown in the examples described below.
[0018] The present inventors have found that when cosmetic compositions containing surface-treated pigment particles have been adjusted in order to improve the secondary adhesion-resistant effect, the dispersibility of the surface-treated pigment particles in oil tends to become relatively poor. In other words, it is not easy to achieve both the dispersibility of the pigment particles in oil and the secondary adhesion-resistant effect in cosmetic compositions containing pigment particles.
[0019] Therefore, through further intensive research, the present inventors have found that the secondary adhesion-resistant effect can be ensured by adjusting the dispersibility of pigment particles in oil to an appropriate level, rather than simply improving it. More specifically, in the composition of the present invention, by blending a specific dispersant in a specific oil together with pigment particles surface-treated with the ester compound of the present invention, it is possible to achieve both the dispersibility of pigment particles in oil and the secondary adhesion-resistant effect.
[0020] Here, "adequate dispersibility" refers to dispersibility to the extent that color unevenness does not occur when a composition containing pigment particles surface-treated with the ester compound according to the present invention is blended into a cosmetic product such as a foundation and used. Furthermore, "adequate dispersibility" can be comprehensively determined using indicators of both the dispersibility immediately after the composition is prepared and the dispersibility over time. More specifically, in the evaluation of dispersibility, if the dispersibility is good immediately after preparation and also good over time, it can be determined to have "adequate dispersibility." In contrast, if the dispersibility is good immediately after preparation but becomes poor over time, for example, it is not evaluated as having "adequate dispersibility."
[0021] However, through extensive research by the present inventors, it has been found that this correspondence between "adequate dispersibility" and the secondary adhesion-free effect is applicable to pigment particles surface-treated with the ester compound according to the present invention, but is not applicable to pigment particles surface-treated with other surface treatment agents (e.g., Comparative Examples 4 and 7).
[0022] In addition, in the above-mentioned Patent Documents 1 and 2, it has been discovered that pigment particles are surface-treated with the ester compound according to the present invention in order to improve the dispersibility of the surface-treated pigment particles in oil. However, there is no idea of improving the secondary adhesion-resistant effect of cosmetic compositions such as foundations containing pigment particles. Naturally, Patent Documents 1 and 2 do not focus on achieving both the dispersibility of pigment particles in oil and the secondary adhesion-resistant effect.
[0023] The composition of the present invention contains pigment particles surface-treated with the ester compound of the present invention (component (A)), an oil component containing at least one type of silicone oil (component (B)), and at least one type of silicone-based dispersant and amodimethicone dispersant having an HLB value of 2.5 or more and 7.5 or less (component (C)). These components are described in detail below.

That is, the dispersant of the present invention may be a silicone-based dispersant having an HLB value of 2.5 to 7.5, or may be an amodimethicone dispersant. By using the dispersant of the present invention, pigment particles surface-treated with the ester compound of the present invention can be dispersed in the above-mentioned oil, and further suitable dispersibility can be imparted. In addition, in the present invention, a "silicone-based dispersant" refers to a dispersant having a structure in which a hydrophilic substituent is introduced into a portion of a silicone having a siloxane bond in its main skeleton.
[0045] Here, the "HLB (Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Balance) value" is a value generally indicating the affinity of a surfactant to water and oil, and is a parameter known as the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance, which can be defined, for example, by the Griffin method. However, in the case of surfactants (including dispersants) having an oxypropylene structure, the HLB value can be defined by the Kawakami method.
[0046] More specifically, the HLB value of the dispersant according to the present invention may be 2.5 or more, 2.6 or more, 2.7 or more, 2.8 or more, 2.9 or more, 3.0 or more, 3.1 or more, 3.2 or more, 3.3 or more, 3.4 or more, 3.5 or more, 3.6 or more, 3.7 or more, 3.8 or more, 3.9 or more, 4.0 or more, 4.1 or more, 4.2 or more, 4.3 or more, 4.4 or more, 4.5 or more, 4.6 or more, 4.7 or more, 4.8 or more, 4.9 or more, or 5.0 or more, and may be 7.5 or less, 7.4 or less, 7.3 or less, 7.2 or less, 7.1 or less, or 5.0 or more. or less, 7.0 or less, 6.9 or less, 6.8 or less, 6.7 or less, 6.6 or less, 6.5 or less, 6.4 or less, 6.3 or less, 6.2 or less, 6.1 or less, 6.0 or less, 5.9 or less, 5.8 or less, 5.7 or less, 5.6 or less, 5.5 or less, 5.4 or less, 5.3 or less, 5.2 or less, 5.1 or less, 5.0 or less, 4.9 or less, 4.8 or less, 4.7 or less, 4.6 or less, 4.5 or less, 4.4 or less, 4.3 or less, 4.2 or less, 4.1 or less, 4.0 or less, 3.8 or less, 3.7 or less, 3.6 or less, or 3.5 or less.
[0047] The amodimethicone dispersant is also called an aminoethylaminopropylmethylsiloxane-dimethylsiloxane copolymer dispersant, and for example, a compound represented by the following formula (1) is preferably used:

Furthermore, examples of polyether alkyl-co-modified silicones include, but are not limited to, cetyl PEG / PPG-10 / 1 dimethicone (HLB value: 3.5 or 5.0) and lauryl PEG-9 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone (HLB value: 2.8). According to one embodiment of the present invention, the polyether alkyl-co-modified silicone may be cetyl PEG / PPG-10 / 1 dimethicone. Cetyl PEG / PPG-10 / 1 dimethicone may have different HLB values due to structural differences, i.e., cetyl PEG / PPG-10 / 1 dimethicone may have an HLB value of 3.5 or an HLB value of 5.0.

[0080] The present invention will be described in more detail below with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited to these. In the following, unless otherwise specified, the contents are expressed in mass %.
[0081] Examples and Comparative Examples Water-in-oil emulsion cosmetics of Examples and Comparative Examples were prepared according to the formulations shown in Table 1 below, and the dispersibility immediately after preparation, dispersibility over time, and secondary adhesion prevention effect of each obtained cosmetic were evaluated according to the following criteria. The results are shown in Table 1.
[0082] Dispersibility Immediately After Preparation The dispersibility of the cosmetics obtained in the Examples and Comparative Examples immediately after preparation was evaluated by visual inspection. The evaluation criteria are as follows: "A": No color unevenness was observed on the liquid surface; "B": Almost no color unevenness was observed on the liquid surface; "C": Color unevenness was observed on about half of the liquid surface; "D": Color unevenness was observed on more than half of the liquid surface.
[0083] The less (or less) "color unevenness" on the liquid surface, the better the dispersibility. The same applies to the "dispersibility over time" below.
[0084] <<Dispersibility over Time>> A rolling test was carried out to evaluate the dispersibility over time of each of the cosmetics obtained in the Examples and Comparative Examples.
[0085] More specifically, in the rolling test, each prepared cosmetic was filled into a cylindrical container and subjected to a rolling tester at room temperature at a speed of 45 rpm for 4 hours, and changes in the state of the cosmetic were observed. The evaluation criteria are as follows: "A": No change in the appearance of the cosmetic was observed; "B": A slight color change was observed in the cosmetic, but this did not interfere with use; "C": A color change was observed in the cosmetic, to the extent that it interfered with use; "D": A significant color change and aggregation was observed in the cosmetic, to the extent that it was difficult to use.
[0086] <Secondary Adhesion Resistance Effect> 5 mg of each of the cosmetics obtained in the Examples and Comparative Examples was applied to artificial leather and left to stand at 37°C for 5 minutes. Next, the applied area was tapped twice onto filter paper using a tapping tester to transfer the cosmetic. The amount of each cosmetic transferred to the filter paper was visually evaluated according to the following criteria: "A": No transfer to the filter paper was observed; "B": Almost no transfer to the filter paper was observed; "C": Light transfer to the filter paper was observed; "D": Heavy transfer to the filter paper was observed.
[0087]
[0088]
[0089] As is clear from the results in Table 1, all of the cosmetics of Examples 1 to 4 had good dispersibility (both immediately after application and over time) and also had a high secondary adhesion-resistant effect. In other words, it was suggested that the cosmetics of Examples 1 to 7 were able to achieve both the dispersibility of the surface-treated pigment particles in oil and the secondary adhesion-resistant effect.
[0090] In contrast, in the cosmetics of Comparative Examples 1 and 2, pigment particles that had been surface-treated with polyglyceryl-2 tetraisostearate (a type of ester compound of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms and glycerin), as in Examples 1 to 3, were used, but it was found that the surface-treated pigment particles were unable to achieve both the dispersibility in oil and the secondary adhesion-resistant effect.
[0091] More specifically, the cosmetic of Comparative Example 1 had good dispersibility immediately after preparation, but its dispersibility deteriorated over time, and the secondary adhesion prevention effect was also poor. This result is presumably due to the use of a silicone-based dispersant with an HLB value of 2.0 in the cosmetic of Comparative Example 1.
[0092] Furthermore, in the cosmetic of Comparative Example 2, the blended amount of dispersant was increased, but the same tendency as in Comparative Example 1 was obtained. That is, in the cosmetic of Comparative Example 2, dispersibility was good immediately after preparation, but dispersibility deteriorated over time, and the secondary adhesion resistance effect was also poor. It is presumed that this result is due to the use of a silicone-based dispersant with an HLB value of 2.0 in the cosmetic of Comparative Example 2.
[0093] On the other hand, in the cosmetic of Comparative Example 3, no dispersant was used, and as a result, although the secondary adhesion prevention effect was high, it was found that the dispersibility immediately after preparation and the dispersibility over time were poor.
[0094] The cosmetic of Comparative Example 4 contained the same oil and dispersant as in Example 1, but contained pigment particles that had been surface-treated with a different surface treatment agent than in Example 1. As a result, it was found that the dispersibility immediately after preparation and the dispersibility over time were good, but the secondary adhesion-resistance effect was poor.
[0095] The cosmetics of Comparative Examples 5 and 6 contained the same oil and dispersant as those in Example 1, but contained pigment particles that had been surface-treated with a different surface treatment agent than those in Example 1. As a result, the dispersibility immediately after preparation and the dispersibility over time were poor, and therefore the secondary adhesion-resistant effect could not be evaluated.
[0096] The cosmetic of Comparative Example 7 contained the same oil as in Example 1, but contained pigment particles that had been surface-treated with a different surface treatment agent and a different dispersant than in Example 1. It was found that the cosmetic had good dispersibility immediately after preparation, but that the dispersibility over time and the secondary adhesion-resistant effect were inferior.
[0097] In the cosmetic of Comparative Example 8, isostearic acid (non-silicone dispersant) with an HLB value of 4.3 was used as the dispersant, but the dispersibility immediately after preparation and over time was poor, and therefore the secondary adhesion-resistant effect could not be evaluated.
[0098] <Formulation Examples> Formulation examples of the composition of the present invention are given below, but the present invention is not limited to the following formulation examples.
