[0001] The present invention relates to a combine harvester equipped with a tailpipe through which exhaust gases combusted by an engine flow.
[0002] A technology has been proposed in the past in which a tail pipe extending rearward is provided in the space formed between the threshing device and the hopper, and the tail pipe is fixed to a support member extending to the right from the right wall of the threshing device.
[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2019-208386
[0004] However, in the technology of Patent Document 1, the tailpipe is installed horizontally when viewed from the side, which means that rainwater may collect at the top of the tailpipe and dust, straw, etc. may accumulate. It has also been pointed out that the heat of the tailpipe caused by exhaust gas may cause the accumulated straw, etc. to ignite.
[0005] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to propose a combine harvester equipped with a tailpipe that can prevent rainwater from accumulating and prevent the accumulation of dust, straw, etc.
[0006] The present invention, which has solved the above-mentioned problems, is as follows: That is, the invention described in claim 1 is a combine harvester having a threshing device (4) for threshing and sorting grains provided on the left side of a body frame (1) on which an engine (E) is mounted, a control unit (5) provided on the right side of the threshing device (4), and a hopper (7) for storing sorted grains provided behind the control unit (5), characterized in that a tailpipe (37) is connected to the rear of a silencer (36) for reducing exhaust noise of exhaust gases burned by the engine (E), the tailpipe (37) extends linearly in the front-to-rear direction between the right wall of the threshing device (4) and the left wall of the hopper (7) in a plan view, and extends upward from the front end toward the rear in a side view, with the rear end of the tailpipe (37) located behind the rear wall of the hopper (7).
[0007] According to the first aspect of the present invention, it is possible to prevent rainwater from accumulating on the upper part of the tail pipe (37) and to prevent dust, straw chips, etc. from accumulating.
[0008] According to the invention of claim 2, in addition to the effect of the invention of claim 1, it is possible to further suppress the accumulation of rainwater and the accumulation of dust, straw, etc. on the upper part of the tail pipe (37), and also to prevent the intrusion of rainwater into the tail pipe (37).
[0009] According to the invention of claim 3, in addition to the effects of the invention of claim 1 or 2, it is possible to prevent rainwater from accumulating on the upper part of the exhaust pipe (35) and the silencer (36) and to prevent the accumulation of dust, straw, etc.
[0010] According to the invention of claim 4, in addition to the effect of the invention of claim 3, it is possible to further prevent exhaust gas discharged from the first extension tail pipe (50) from returning to the area around the operator in the operating section (5).
[0011] According to the fifth aspect of the present invention, in addition to the effect of the fourth aspect of the present invention, it is possible to prevent rainwater from entering the first extension tail pipe (50).

[0013] <Combine of First Embodiment> As shown in Figures 1 and 2, a general-purpose combine has a traveling device 2 consisting of a pair of left and right crawlers that travels on the soil surface on the underside of a body frame 1, a pre-harvesting processing device 3 that harvests stalks in the field on the front side of the body frame 1, a threshing device 4 that threshers and sorts the harvested stalks on the rear left side of the pre-harvesting processing device 3, and a control unit 5 on which an operator rides on on the rear right side of the pre-harvesting processing device 3.
[0014] An engine room 6 that houses the engine is provided below the control unit 5, and a hopper 7 that stores threshed and sorted rapeseed oil and other grains is provided behind the control unit 5.
[0015] The pre-harvest processing device 3 is composed of a raking device 3A that transports the stalks in the field to the rear while standing them up, a cutting blade device 3B that cuts the base of the stalks transported to the rear lower part of the raking device 3A, an auger device 3C that gathers the stalks transported to the rear of the raking device 3A to the left side, and a feeder house 3D that transports the gathered stalks to the threshing device 4.
[0016] The hopper 7 is composed of a tank portion 10 formed in a rectangular parallelepiped shape and a funnel portion 11 formed in an inverted pyramid shape below the tank portion 10. Two funnel portions 11 are provided side by side in the front-to-rear direction below the tank portion 10.
[0017] A plate-shaped closing member 12 supported so as to be slidable in the left-right direction is provided below the funnel portion 11, and a bag support 13 from which a grain bag is suspended is provided below the funnel portion 11. As a result, when grains are to be stored in the hopper 7, the closing member 12 is moved to the left to block the leakage opening of the funnel portion 11 and store the grains, and when the grains stored in the hopper 7 are to be discharged to the outside, after the grain bag is suspended from the bag support 13, the closing member 12 is moved to the right to open the leakage opening and discharge the grains into the grain bag.
[0018] 3 to 8, the front wall of the tank section 10 is fixed via stays 22 to a horizontal frame 21 that connects the upper parts of a pair of left and right vertical frames 20 in the left-right direction and extends upward from the machine frame 1 provided at the rear of the control section 5. The rear wall of the tank section 10 is fixed via stays 25 to a horizontal frame 24 that extends in the left-right direction and is provided at the top of a vertical frame 23 that extends upward from the machine frame 1. Furthermore, the left wall of the tank section 10 is supported by a grain lifting tube 26 that lifts grains threshed and sorted by the threshing device 4 into the tank section 10 of the hopper 7. This allows the tank section 10 to be firmly fixed in a predetermined position.
[0019] It is preferable that the left portion of the horizontal frame 24 is fixed to the right wall of the threshing device 4. This makes it possible to suppress deformation of the horizontal frame 24 and more firmly fix the tank portion 10 in a predetermined position.
[0020] A stay 27 is provided at the top of the grain lifting can 26 to support a precleaner 30 that removes floating particles from the air drawn into the engine E, and a stay 28 is provided in the middle of the grain lifting can 26 in the vertical direction to support a tail pipe 37, which will be described later.
[0021] The air that has passed through the precleaner 30 has impurities removed by a cleaner 31 provided at the rear of the control section 5, and is then drawn into the engine E where it is mixed with diesel fuel.
[0022] The exhaust gas burned by the engine E passes through an exhaust pipe 35, a silencer 36 connected to the rear of the exhaust pipe 35 to reduce exhaust noise, and a tail pipe 37 connected to the rear of the silencer 36, and is exhausted to the outside from the rear of the tail pipe 37.
[0023] In a side view, the exhaust pipe 35 extends from the front end portion upward toward the rear, which prevents dust, straw, and the like from accumulating on the upper portion of the exhaust pipe 35.
[0024] The silencer 36 is formed with a connecting pipe 36A extending forward from the front portion and a connecting pipe 36B extending rearward from the rear portion, thereby facilitating the connection between the rear portion of the exhaust pipe 35 and the front portion of the connecting pipe 36A, and the connection between the rear portion of the connecting pipe 36B and the front portion of the tail pipe 37.
[0025] In a side view, the silencer 36 is provided in a tilted position with its rear portion positioned higher than its front portion, and the connecting pipe 36A extends from its front end toward the rear, and the connecting pipe 36B extends from its front end toward the rear, thereby preventing dust, straw, etc. from accumulating on the silencer 36 and the connecting pipes 36A and 36B.
[0026] The outer diameter of the rear portion of the exhaust pipe 35 is smaller than the inner diameter of the front portion of the connecting pipe 36A, so that a portion of the rear portion of the exhaust pipe 35 overlaps a portion of the front portion of the connecting pipe 36A. This configuration allows the ejector effect to lower the temperature of exhaust gas discharged from the exhaust pipe 35 to the silencer 36 via the connecting pipe 36A. Furthermore, the outer diameter of the rear portion of the connecting pipe 36B is smaller than the inner diameter of the front portion of the tailpipe 37, so that a portion of the rear portion of the exhaust pipe 36B overlaps a portion of the front portion of the tailpipe 37. This configuration allows the ejector effect to lower the temperature of exhaust gas discharged from the silencer 36 to the tailpipe 37 via the connecting pipe 36B. Furthermore, any heavy materials such as water or pebbles that have entered the tailpipe 37 are expelled from the front of the tailpipe 37.
[0027] In a side view, the connection between the rear of the connecting pipe 36B and the front of the tail pipe 37 is located in front of the funnel portion 11 at the front of the hopper 7. This allows the tail pipe 37 to be easily removed from the connecting pipe 36B for maintenance by utilizing the space formed below the funnel portion 11.
[0028] In a side view, the tail pipe 37 is formed of a front portion 37A extending upward from the front end toward the rear, and an intermediate portion 37B and a rear portion 37C extending upward from the rear of the front portion 37A more gradually than the front portion 37A. This prevents rainwater from adhering to the upper portion of the tail pipe 37 and prevents dust, straw, and the like from accumulating.
[0029] In a side view, the rear portion of the rear side portion 37C extends rearward beyond the rear wall of the hopper 7. This prevents exhaust gas discharged from the rear side portion 37C from returning to the area around the operator of the control unit 5.
[0030] A heat-shielding cover (referred to as the "first cover" in the claims) 38 is provided above the middle portion 37B and the rear portion 37C, covering the left, upper, and right portions of the middle portion 37B and the rear portion 37C. This prevents dust, straw, and other particles from adhering to the middle portion 37B and the rear portion 37C. This also prevents grain bags loaded on the upper wall of the threshing device 4 from burning. The rear end of the heat-shielding cover 38 extends rearward beyond the rear end of the rear portion 37C of the tail pipe 37. This prevents rainwater from entering the tail pipe 37.
[0031] In a side view, the middle portion 37B is positioned below the upper wall of the threshing device 4. This makes it possible to further prevent the grain bags loaded on the upper wall of the threshing device 4 from burning.
[0032] In a side view, the intermediate portion 37B is positioned so as to overlap the funnel portion 11, i.e., below the tank portion 10, above the bag support 13, and below the upper wall of the threshing device 4. This prevents grains spilling out of the grain bag when the grains are discharged from adhering to the intermediate portion 37B.
[0033] In a plan view, the middle portion 37B and the rear portion 37C are arranged to extend linearly in the front-to-rear direction at a position offset toward the threshing device 4 in the space formed between the threshing device 4 and the hopper 7. Similarly, the front portion 37A is also arranged to extend linearly in the front-to-rear direction.
[0034] 7, a connecting member 40 provided at the front of the intermediate portion 37B is detachably fixed to the lower portion of the stay 28 by a fastening member such as a bolt, thereby allowing the intermediate portion 37B to be easily removed from the stay 28.
[0035] As shown in Figure 8, a connecting member 41 provided at the rear of the rear side portion 37C is detachably fixed to the left side of the horizontal frame 24 with a fastening member such as a bolt. This allows the rear side portion 37C to be easily removed from the horizontal frame 24. Furthermore, most of the heat from the rear side portion 37C heated by exhaust gas is released into the atmosphere via the horizontal frame 24, so the heat has little effect on the threshing device 4 or the hopper 7.
[0036] As shown in Figure 9, the stay 28 has a rib 28A extending in the front-to-rear direction on its left side, and a rib 28B extending in the left-to-right direction that connects the lifting tube 26 to the middle part of the rib 28A. This prevents deformation of the stay 28 and firmly fixes the front part of the middle part 37B. Furthermore, most of the heat in the middle part 37B, which has become very hot due to exhaust gases, is released into the atmosphere from the lifting tube 26, so there is no thermal impact on the threshing device 4 or hopper 7. Furthermore, because the grains pass through the lifting tube 26 in an extremely short time, there is no thermal impact on the grains.
[0037] 10 to 12 show a combine harvester according to a second embodiment. The same members as those in the combine harvester according to the first embodiment are designated by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will be omitted.
[0038] An extension tail pipe (referred to as a "first extension tail pipe" in the claims) 50 is connected to the rear of the rear side portion 37C of the tail pipe 37 of the combine harvester of the second embodiment. The extension tail pipe 50 is formed of a curved portion that extends rearward from the rear end of the rear side portion 37C and then bends approximately 90 degrees to the left, and an extension portion that extends leftward from the left portion of the curved portion, with the left portion of the extension portion being located near the left wall of the threshing device 4. This allows a large distance between the operator of the control unit 5 and the exhaust port of the extension portion of the extension tail pipe 50, preventing exhaust gases exhausted from the extension portion from returning to the area around the operator of the control unit 5. Note that Figures 10 to 12 illustrate a combine harvester in which, instead of the hopper 7, a grain tank 8 for storing grain and a discharge auger 9 for discharging grain stored in the grain tank 8 are provided behind the control unit 5.
[0039] The outer diameter of the rear portion of rear side portion 37C of tail pipe 37 is smaller than the inner diameter of the front portion of the curved portion of extended tail pipe 50, and a portion of the rear portion of rear side portion 37C of tail pipe 37 overlaps a portion of the front portion of the curved portion of extended tail pipe 50. This allows the ejector effect to lower the temperature of exhaust gases exhausted from rear side portion 37C to the curved portion of extended tail pipe 50.
[0040] A heat-shielding cover (referred to as a "second cover" in the claims) 51 is provided on the outside of the extension tail pipe 50 to cover the outer periphery of the extension tail pipe 50, and the left end of the heat-shielding cover 51 extends further left than the left end of the extension tail pipe 50. This prevents dust, straw, etc. from adhering to the extension tail pipe 50 and also prevents rainwater from entering the extension tail pipe 50. The longitudinal cross section of the heat-shielding cover 51 in the front-to-rear direction is formed in a hexagonal shape.
[0041] The lower part of the heat-shielding cover 51 is fixed to support members 52 extending rearward from the rear walls of a pair of left and right threshing devices 4, which are spaced a predetermined distance apart in the left-right direction. The heat-shielding cover 51 and the support members 52 are removably fixed together with fastening members such as bolts. This allows the heat-shielding cover 51 to be easily attached and detached to the outer periphery of the extension tail pipe 50.
[0042] As shown in Figure 13, instead of the heat-shielding cover 51, a heat-shielding cover 51A can be provided which covers the upper, rear and lower parts of the outer periphery of the extension tail pipe 50 and has an open front part facing the rear wall of the threshing device 4. This reduces the weight of the heat-shielding cover 51A and makes it easier to attach and detach the heat-shielding cover 51A to the outer periphery of the extension tail pipe 50.
