AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing bonding methods for cardboard parts using liquid glue result in imprecise and non-airtight seals, leading to issues such as cracks and insect infestation, particularly in pasta packaging, due to the shifting and slipping of liquid glue.

Method used

A device using a dry glue bead that is melted by ultrasonic vibrations to bond cardboard parts, ensuring precise and airtight seals by applying ultrasonic energy to liquefy the glue during the joining process.

Benefits of technology

The solution provides fast, homogeneous, and strong closures with improved airtightness and resistance to loads, extending the shelf life of packaged food and preventing insect infestation.

Description

[0001] CARDBOARD CONTAINER CLOSING DEVICE.

[0002] Field of the invention.

[0003] The invention relates to a device capable of performing gluing in cartons or cardboard packages with extreme precision and airtightness.

[0004] State of the art.

[0005] Currently the bonding between the cardboard parts takes places with liquid glue, which, while still fresh, is distributed between the cardboard parts to be joined of a case or any other cardboard package. Glue in liquid form when gluing, however, has several disadvantages: it can shift, it slips between the parts to be joined and therefore does not guarantee nor a perfectly airtight closure nor a precision in bonding. This can cause several disadvantages, especially for pasta packaging cardboard containers, where even small cracks between the glued parts can lead to the formation of moths an / or insects inside the package. Document DE 9313077 U1 is known, in which layers of cardboard are welded into a compression ring and a tool with ultrasound, but not is used a layer of glue dry properly arranged and headed with ultrasound to carry out bonding.

[0006] Summary of the invention.

[0007] The object of the invention is a device capable of eliminating the disadvantages mentioned, realizing a gluing of the cardboard prats with solid-state glue, dissolved exclusively during the phase of jointing the cardboard parts. The purpose of this result is to construct a container that is less complex than known ones and has additional advantages: the cardboard parts are joined with extreme precision, avoiding cracks or gaps where insects can lay eggs. There is thus a longer shelf life for food and a tightness to containment of package fluids. The device subject of the invention is then extremely fast in making gluing, ensure homogeneity and strength of the closures made, and is adaptable to different forms of making cardboard packages or cases. The invention involves at least one sheet of cardboard on which a glue bead is placed to join different parts, with the glue left to dry and a sonotrode capable to dissolving with ultrasonic vibrations the glue being bounded between the parts. A cardboard is then made with dry glue an a string or stiches to be joined, which with the overlapping of the parts to be joined made with pliers and with use of the sonotrode that through ultrasound makes the bead of partly liquefied glue, allowing bonding between the parts. Spreading of glue and areas where the glue is not present are thus avoided with greater presence of glue in the rows where the glue head is placed, with constant width and greater tightness to loads, making the most-load resistance case of package. These and other purposes and advantages of the present invention will be more evident from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment but not exclusive, with reference to the enclosed drawings where the invention is illustrated in a merely indicative view and so not limiting. Brief description of the drawings.

[0008] Figure 1 is perspective view of a cardboard sheet with dry glue bead placeable on the parts to be closed. Figure 2 is perspective view of a cardboard case closed with a sonotrode. Detailed description.

[0009] The cardboard container closing device includes at least one cardboard sheet (1 ) on which a dry glue bead (2) is placeable at the cardboard parts to be joined and a sonotrode (3) with press (4) having jaws (5) arranged between the cardboard parts to be jointed and around the sonotrode (3), where ignition of the sonotrode (3) with the ultrasonic vibrations melts again the dry glue bead (2), allowing the parts to bond together. A new and original type of bonding between cardboard parts is thus realized, with extreme bonding precision and fluid-tight sealing. The invention thus enables the creating of cases, containers, packages in cardboard with extremely fast gluing. In fact one does not have to wait for the glue to dry while gluing the cardboard parts, but with the use of ultrasound, the dry glued bead 2 softens, allowing the parts to be joined together quickly. The cardboard parts to be joined can then be placed in dryers to accelerate the drying of the glue bead 2. With this type of bonding between cardboard parts, cardboard packages of any shape, even complex ones, can also be obtained, in a short time, in as, by arranging along lines or points the different parts to be joined, the use of a sonotrode 3 allows the parts to be joined together in a short time, joining the parts sequentially. The sealed seal then extends the shelf life and, consequently, the expiration of the product contained in the case or any cardboard package finding with the invention. The invention is possible of a lot of changing and variations all covered by the present invented object. All the parts can be replaced with other technically equivalent without exit for the field of the protection of claims.
