[0031] <First Invention> [System Configuration] As shown in Fig. 1, an information processing device 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a processing unit 10, a storage unit 12, an input unit 14, an output unit 16, and a communication unit 18. As shown in Fig. 2, the information processing device 100 may be connected to an external server or the like (not shown) via an information communication network 102 so as to be able to exchange information. Furthermore, the information processing device 100 may be configured as a single device (for example, a single computer) or may be configured by combining multiple devices (for example, multiple computers).
[0032] The processing unit 10 includes a means for performing arithmetic processing, such as a CPU. The processing unit 10 executes an information processing program stored in the storage unit 12 to realize processes such as image display, video display, and electronic game execution in the information processing device 100 of this embodiment. The storage unit 12 includes storage means such as a semiconductor memory or a memory card. The storage unit 12 is accessible and connected to the processing unit 10 and stores the information processing program and information necessary for the processing. The input unit 14 includes a means for inputting information. The input unit 14 includes, for example, a keyboard, a touch panel, buttons, etc. for receiving input from a user. The output unit 16 includes, for example, a user interface screen (UI) for receiving input information from a user and a means for outputting processing results in the information processing device 100. The output unit 16 includes, for example, a display for presenting images to the user. The communication unit 18 includes an interface for communicating information with an external server, etc., via the information communication network 102. Communication by the communication unit 18 may be wired or wireless.
[0033] Various information processing devices capable of executing an information processing program can be applied as the information processing device 100. For example, the information processing device 100 can be a stationary or portable game console, a stationary or portable personal computer (PC), a tablet computer, a smartphone, a mobile phone terminal, a PHS (Personal Handy-phone System) terminal, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a multi-function television receiver with an information processing function (a so-called smart TV), or the like.
[0034] The information communication network 102 is not limited to the Internet, but may be any network that can connect the information processing device 100 and other devices to each other so that they can communicate with each other. For example, the information communication network 102 may be a dedicated line, a public line (telephone line, mobile communication line, etc.), a wired LAN (Local Area Network), a wireless LAN, etc., or may be a combination of the Internet and these.
[0035] [Object Display Processing] Information processing provided by the information processing device 100 in this embodiment will be described below. First, object display processing for displaying still images of objects used in electronic games, etc. Through this processing, the information processing device 100 functions as object display means.
[0036] In this embodiment, the objects used in electronic games and the like are, for example, playing cards (hereinafter simply referred to as cards). However, the objects are not limited to cards, and can be medals, figures, characters, items, etc. Furthermore, the objects are not limited to those used in electronic games.
[0037] A predetermined number of cards are given to each player. For example, ten cards may be given to each player when the electronic game starts. Alternatively, a player may acquire cards when a predetermined condition in the electronic game is met, when a player purchases cards by paying a fee, or the like. However, the method of acquiring objects is not limited to these methods.
[0038] 3 shows an object display screen 200. When a player uses the input unit of the information processing device 100 to instruct display of the object display screen 200, an image of an object 204 is displayed on a screen 202 of a display, which is the output unit 16 of the information processing device 100, based on the 3D data of the object.
[0039] The image area in which the object 204 is displayed on the object display screen 200 includes a frame area 206, a main image area 208, and a character display area 210. The frame area 206 is an area that displays the frame of the card that is the object 204. The main image area 208 is an area that displays the character of the card that is the object 204, etc. FIG. 3 shows an example of a card for character A, and the main image area 208 displays character A and other designs. The character display area 210 is an area that displays character information related to the object 204. The character display area 210 displays information such as the character name, electronic game parameters related to the character (parameters used to progress the electronic game, such as hit points HP and magic points MP) and their values, and character characteristics.
[0040] A back button 212 may also be displayed on the object display screen 200. The user can return to a process prior to the display process of the object display screen 200 by selecting (for example, tapping) the button 212 on the object display screen 200.
[0041] 4 is a diagram illustrating a process for displaying the object display screen 200 based on the 3D data of the object. The 3D data of the object may be stored in advance in the storage unit 12 in association with the object owned by each player. The 3D data of the object 204 to be displayed is read from the storage unit 12, and the object 204 is arranged in three-dimensional space based on the 3D data. A camera 214 is also arranged in the three-dimensional space in which the object 204 is arranged. An image of the object 204 taken by the camera 214 is then displayed on the object display screen 200. By moving the camera 214, the object 204 can be enlarged, reduced, rotated, and moved and displayed on the object display screen 200.
[0042] For example, by moving the camera 214 relative to the object 204 in three-dimensional space, the object 204 can be displayed with its size changed, rotated, or moved, as shown in Figure 5. This allows the user to enjoy viewing the object (card) they own from various angles.
[0043] [Event Execution Processing] The event execution processing in the information processing device 100 will be described below with reference to the flowchart in Fig. 6. In this embodiment, the event is to play back a video related to the object 204.
[0044] In step S10, a process for receiving an instruction to start an event is performed. Through the process in this step, the information processing device 100 functions as an event start instruction means. The method for instructing to start an event may be, for example, a long press on the display area of the object 204 on the display screen 202 (touching the screen for a predetermined period of time). However, the method for instructing to start an event is not particularly limited. For example, an event start button may be displayed on the object display screen 200, and the start of the event may be instructed by tapping the event start button.
[0045] In step S12, an effect process indicating the start of an event is performed. The process in this step causes the information processing device 100 to function as an event start effect processing means. When the information processing device 100 receives an instruction to start an event in step S10, it performs the effect process.
[0046] In this embodiment, the effect processing involves display processing that illuminates the frame region 206 on the object display screen 200. For example, as shown by the arrow (dashed line) in FIG. 7 , light-emitting regions 220 are displayed in a circular pattern around the frame region 206 that surrounds the display region of the object 204, and illuminated in sequence. Alternatively, effect processing may be performed in which a light-emitting region 222 is displayed and illuminates in the region that was pressed and held in step S10. The light-emitting region 220 and the light-emitting region 222 may be erased after being displayed for a predetermined period of time. However, the effect processing is not particularly limited, and may be any processing that allows the user to know that an instruction to start an event has been received.
[0047] In step S14, a process for preparing for the event processing is performed. The process in this step causes the information processing device 100 to function as an event preparation means. First, a process is performed to reset the object display screen 200 to its initial state before the start of the event processing. In the initial state of the object display screen 200, it is preferable that a first image, which is an image of the object 204 displayed in the main image area 208 in the object display processing, and a second image, which is a video of the start portion of the video described below, match.
[0048] For example, in the object display process, the object display screen 200 shown in Fig. 3 is displayed as an initial state. At this time, if the initial image 300 of the video played in the event is an image as shown in Fig. 8, it is preferable to match the second image 302, which is a partial image obtained by cutting out a part of it, with the first image, which is the image displayed in the main image area 208 in the initial state shown in Fig. 3.
[0049] It is preferable that the first image, which is the image of object 204 displayed in main image area 208, and the second image, which is the video of the start of the video described below, match, but they do not need to match exactly and may be similar images. Here, similar images are images that are so similar that a person viewing the images cannot or has difficulty recognizing that the first image has been switched to the second image.
[0050] Furthermore, the back button 212 and other buttons displayed on the display screen 202 may be erased.
[0051] After the object display screen 200 is returned to its initial state before the start of the event processing, a process is performed to erase the image displayed in the main image area 208 of the object display screen 200. For example, after the object display screen 200 shown in Fig. 3 is displayed in its initial state, the image displayed in the main image area 208 of the object display screen 200 is erased as shown in Fig. 9. This process is performed to prevent overlapping of images displayed in the main image area 208 during playback of the video in the event, which is started in step S16 below.
[0052] In step S16, an initial setting process for the event is performed. The process in this step causes the information processing device 100 to function as a part of the event execution means. In this step, the event process is started. In this embodiment, the process of playing back a video related to the object is started.
[0053] In this process, a second image 302 included in the initial screen of the video is displayed in the main image area 208 of the object display screen 200. For example, after erasing the image in the main image area 208 as shown in Fig. 9, the second image 302 shown in Fig. 8 is displayed in the main image area 208. This results in a display similar to the object display screen 200 shown in Fig. 3. It is preferable to keep the time from erasing the main image area 208 in step S14 to displaying the second image 302 in step S16 as short as possible. This makes it possible to switch from a still image to a video without causing discomfort to people viewing the display screen 202.
[0054] In step S18, a frame zoom-out process and a video display area size-up process are performed. The processes in this step cause the information processing device 100 to function as part of an event execution means. Here, a zoom-out process is performed to gradually expand the frame area 206 of the object display screen 200 outward from the display screen 202, and a size-up process is performed to expand the area in which the video is displayed in accordance with the expansion of the frame area 206. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 10 , the frame area 206 is expanded on the display screen 202 to expand the main image area 208, and the display area 304 of the initial video image 300 displayed within the main image area 208 is also expanded accordingly. This creates a visual effect in which the display area 304 of the initial video image 300 is expanding together with the frame area 206 on the display screen 202. It is preferable to also expand the character display area 210 simultaneously with the expansion of the frame area 206.
[0055] 11 , the frame region 206 and the character display region 210 are zoomed out completely from the display screen 202, and the display region 304 of the initial image 300 of the video is expanded to fill the entire display screen 202. As a result, the frame region 206 and the character display region 210 fade out from the display screen 202.
[0056] In this embodiment, the video display area 304 is expanded to cover the entire display screen 202, but the display range may be limited to a portion of the display screen 202, and zoom-out processing of the frame area 206 and character display area 210 and size-up processing of the video display area 304 may be applied to that display range.
[0057] By combining the processing in steps S16 and S18, a smooth transition can be achieved from the display of a still image of object 204 based on 3D data to the display of the initial screen of video playback in the event without causing any discomfort to the viewer.
[0058] In step S20, a video playback process is performed. Through the process in this step, the information processing device 100 functions as a video playback means as part of an event execution means. After the initial image 300 of the video is displayed through the processes up to step S18, the video related to the object 204 is played by successively changing the images displayed on the display screen 202, as shown in FIG. 12 .
[0059] It is preferable that the video related to the object 204 is a video in which the viewer enters the card of the object 204 and moves through three-dimensional space. In this way, by playing the video related to the object 204, the viewer who owns the object 204 can enjoy being immersed in the worldview related to the object 204.
[0060] In step S22, the size of the video display area is reduced and the frame is zoomed in. Through the processing in this step, the information processing device 100 functions as an event end preparation means as part of the event execution means. In preparation for ending the playback of the video in step S20, the size of the video display area is reduced and the frame is zoomed in.
[0061] Conversely to the process of step S18, a size-down process is performed in which display area 304, which displays the moving image, is reduced toward the inside of display screen 202, and a zoom-in process is performed in which frame area 206 is displayed and gradually reduced in accordance with the reduction of display area 304. Specifically, inversely to the process shown in FIG. 10 , frame area 206 is displayed as if zooming in from outside display screen 202, and frame area 206 is gradually reduced to narrow main image area 208, and accordingly, display area 304 of the moving image displayed within main image area 208 is also reduced. This produces a visual effect in which display area 304 of initial moving image 300 is reduced together with frame area 206 on display screen 202. Note that it is preferable to reduce character display area 210 simultaneously with the reduction of frame area 206. Finally, the moving image display area size-down process and frame zoom-in process are performed so that main image area 208 has the same size as object display screen 200 displayed in step S16.
[0062] At this time, it is preferable that the final image (third image) of the video displayed in main image area 208 be an image that matches second image 302 on the initial screen of the video shown in Fig. 8, i.e., an image that matches or is similar to the first image displayed in the object display process. As a result, the screen displayed on display screen 202 at the end of video playback will be in a state in which second image 302 at the start of video playback is displayed in main image area 208 surrounded by frame area 206, as shown in Fig. 3. Note that a back button 212 or the like may be displayed on display screen 202.
[0063] This allows the image to be switched from a moving image to a still image without giving the viewer a sense of incongruity when switching to a still image of the object 204, which will be described later.
[0064] In step S24, post-event processing is performed. Through the processing in this step, information processing device 100 functions as post-event processing means. In information processing device 100, as shown in FIG. 9, image deletion processing is performed when the video displayed in main image area 208 ends.
[0065] In step S26, processing is performed to display a still image of object 204. Through the processing in this step, information processing device 100 functions as object display means. The processing in this step is similar to the object display processing described above, and therefore a description thereof will be omitted. It is preferable to keep the time from erasing main image area 208 in step S24 to displaying the first image in main image area 208 in step S26 as short as possible. This allows switching from a moving image to a still image without causing discomfort to a person viewing display screen 202.
[0066] In addition, in this embodiment, the event is the playback of a video related to the object 204, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, as shown in Fig. 13, a display object such as a character may be arranged in a three-dimensional space, and a camera 214 may be freely moved within the three-dimensional space, and an image captured by the camera 214 may be displayed on the display screen 202.
[0067] As described above, according to this embodiment, it is possible to provide a variety of presentations relating to objects without giving viewers a sense of incongruity.
[0068] <Second Invention> As shown in Fig. 14, a card trading system 400 according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a server 402 and a user terminal 404. In this embodiment, a first user uses user terminal 404a, and a second user uses user terminal 404b. Server 402 and user terminal 404 are connected to each other via an information communication network 408 such as the Internet so that they can exchange information with each other.
[0069] The information and communication network 408 is not limited to the Internet, but may be any network that can communicatively connect the server 402 and the user terminal 404 to each other. For example, the information and communication network 408 may be a dedicated line, a public line (telephone line, mobile communication line, etc.), a wired LAN (Local Area Network), a wireless LAN, etc., or may be a combination of the Internet and these.
[0070] The server 402 receives information on the cards to be exchanged from the user terminal 404a used by the first user and the user terminal 404b used by the second user, and performs processing for the exchange of the cards.
[0071] As shown in FIG. 15 , the server 402 includes a processing unit 50, a memory unit 52, an input unit 54, an output unit 56, and a communication unit 58. The processing unit 50 includes a means for performing arithmetic processing, such as a CPU. The processing unit 50 executes a server program stored in the memory unit 52 to interconnect multiple user terminals 404 in the card trading system 400 of this embodiment and perform card exchange processing. The memory unit 52 includes storage means, such as a semiconductor memory, a hard disk, or a memory card. The memory unit 52 is accessible to the processing unit 50 and stores the server program and information necessary for the processing. The input unit 54 includes a means for inputting information. The input unit 54 includes, for example, a keyboard, a touch panel, buttons, etc., for receiving input from an administrator. The output unit 56 includes a means for outputting processing results from the server 402, such as a user interface screen (UI) for receiving input information from the administrator. The output unit 56 includes, for example, a display for presenting images to the administrator. The communication unit 58 includes an interface for communicating information with the user terminal 404 via the information communication network 408. The communication by the communication unit 58 may be wired or wireless.
[0072] The user terminal 404 is a terminal used by a user who exchanges cards. As shown in FIG. 16 , the user terminal 404 includes a processing unit 60, a memory unit 62, an input unit 64, an output unit 66, and a communication unit 68. The processing unit 60 includes a means for performing arithmetic processing, such as a CPU. The processing unit 60 executes a user terminal program included in an application stored in the memory unit 62, thereby realizing the function of the user terminal in the card trading system 400 of this embodiment. The memory unit 62 includes storage means, such as a semiconductor memory, a hard disk, or a memory card. The memory unit 62 is accessible and connected to the processing unit 60 and stores the user terminal program and information necessary for its processing. The input unit 64 includes a means for inputting information. The input unit 64 includes, for example, a keyboard, a touch panel, buttons, etc., for receiving input from the user. The output unit 66 includes a means for outputting information necessary for processing on the user terminal 404, such as a screen for receiving input information from the user or a display for displaying image information, such as a user interface screen (UI). The communication unit 68 includes an interface for communicating information with the server 402 via the information communication network 408. The communication by the communication unit 68 may be wired or wireless.
[0073] The user terminal 404 can be any of a variety of information processing devices capable of executing programs for providing the services of the card trading system 400. For example, the user terminal 404 can be a dedicated stationary or portable device, a personal computer (PC), a tablet computer, a smartphone, a mobile phone terminal, a PHS (Personal Handy-phone System) terminal, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a multi-function television receiver with information processing capabilities (so-called smart TV), or the like.
[0074] The user terminal 404 can be realized by installing an application provided by the server 402 or the like in advance on an information processing device. Each user operates the user terminal 404 to start the application, and performs processing for exchanging cards via the server 402.
[0075] [Card Database] In this embodiment, cards handled as electronic data are subject to exchange (trade). Cards can be acquired by completing a purchase procedure from user terminal 404 to server 402.
[0076] A plurality of cards are associated with a card pack that is treated as electronic data, and by performing a process of opening the card pack, the card associated with the card pack is given to the user.
[0077] The method for acquiring card packs is not particularly limited, and may be such that users can acquire them free of charge as a reward in an electronic game or the like, or may acquire them for a fee by paying some kind of compensation, such as a charge. For example, card packs may be purchased from an online shop. Furthermore, card packs may be awarded through a random lottery, free of charge or for a fee. Furthermore, card packs may be awarded by joining a fan club, for example. Furthermore, card packs may be awarded by participating in a predetermined SNS event, for example. However, the method for acquiring card packs is not limited to these methods, and any method may be used.
[0078] Information on cards owned by each user is stored as a card database in the storage unit 52. Note that the card database does not necessarily have to be stored in the storage unit 52, but may be stored in a storage medium accessible from the server 402 and the user terminal 404.
[0079] As shown in the example of Figure 17, the card database stores user IDs, card IDs, card types, rarity, attributes, image data, expansions, and effects in association with each other. A user ID is an identifier uniquely assigned to each user. In the card database, a user ID is used to identify the user who owns a card. A card ID is an identifier uniquely assigned to each type of card. A card type is an identifier uniquely assigned to each type of card. The card type can be, for example, the name of the card. Rarity is information indicating the rarity of a card.
[0080] The rarity of a card refers to the probability that a user can obtain the card when opening a card pack. In other words, cards with high rarity have a low probability of appearing, while cards with low rarity have a high probability of appearing. In this embodiment, an example will be described in which cards are numbered R1 to R4 in order of decreasing rarity.
[0081] The attribute is information indicating the attribute of the card, such as a normal card or a special card. For example, the attribute of a card that can be obtained from a normal card pack is "normal," and the attribute of a card that can only be obtained through a special project (promotion) is "PROMO." The image data is data used when displaying the image of the card.
[0082] An expansion is information that indicates the series of card packs used to acquire cards and their variations within the series. Card packs are released in various series, and an expansion is information about the acquisition path of a card, specifying which series and which variation of a card pack each card was acquired from. The card database expansion stores information about the number of cards acquired by each user, in which series and in which expansion.
[0083] For example, as shown in FIG. 18, a Series A card pack is released in a first project (A-PROMOTION), and a Series Bx card pack is released in a second project (B-PROMOTION). Furthermore, multiple expansions may be released in Series A. For example, in Series A, a card pack for the initial expansion Ax1 is released in January, and a card pack for the additional expansion Ax2 is released in May. Also, for example, following Series A, an initial expansion Bx1 is released in October as a new Series B card pack.
[0084] In this embodiment, card exchange is restricted depending on the release date of each expansion, the promotion, and the rarity of the cards, and a period during which exchange is not possible is set. For example, cards acquired from a card pack of an expansion are not exchangeable for a predetermined period from the start of the expansion's release. The predetermined period may be, for example, three months. Furthermore, cards that can only be acquired through a special promotion (card with the attribute "PROMO") are not exchangeable until the promotion ends. Furthermore, for example, cards of a predetermined rarity acquired from a card pack of an expansion may be not exchangeable for a predetermined period from the start of the expansion's release depending on the card's rarity.
[0085] In the example of FIG. 18 , expansion Ax1 of series Ax is released in January, and all cards acquired from expansion Ax1 are ineligible for exchange for three months thereafter. Three months later, in April, exchange of cards acquired from expansion Ax1 with a rarity of R4 or higher is permitted. Three months later, in July, exchange of cards acquired from expansion Ax1 with a rarity of R4 to R1 is permitted. Furthermore, expansion Ax2 of series Ax is released in May, and all cards acquired from expansion Ax2 are ineligible for exchange for three months thereafter. Three months later, in August, exchange of cards acquired from expansion Ax2 with a rarity of R4 or higher is permitted. Three months later, in November, exchange of cards acquired from expansion Ax2 with a rarity of R4 to R1 is permitted.
[0086] In addition, cards acquired through a special promotion in Series A (cards with the attribute "PROMO") will not be exchangeable until the end of September when the promotion ends, and will be eligible for exchange from October when the promotion ends.
[0087] An effect is a function that imparts a special effect to a card. For example, the special effect may be a function that superimposes a special effect image on the card image, or a function that displays the card image in the form of a hologram. However, the effect is not particularly limited, and may be any effect that imparts some effect to the card. Effects can be imparted to each type of card. By consuming an effect, a user can impart the effect to a card of the type associated with the effect. For example, as shown in FIG. 19 , an effect 502 can be imparted to a card 500 whose type is "Card A." The type of effect may differ depending on the combination of card type and expansion.
[0088] The effect may be acquired when a predetermined condition is met. For example, if one user owns multiple cards of the same type and expansion combination, the effect for that type and expansion combination may be acquired by consuming the cards. As a specific example, if one user owns five "cards A" obtained in expansion "Ax1," the effect that can be used for the "cards A" obtained in expansion "Ax1" may be acquired by consuming three of the "cards A."
[0089] However, the method of obtaining an effect is not limited to this, and an effect may be obtained when other conditions are met. For example, when a card is obtained by opening a card pack, an effect that can be used on the card may be randomly granted. Furthermore, when an electronic game is played using a card, an effect that can be used on the card may be granted when a predetermined condition in the electronic game is met.
[0090] [User Database] In the card trading system 400, information about users is stored as a user database in the storage unit 52. Note that the user database does not necessarily have to be stored in the storage unit 52, but may be stored in a storage medium accessible from the server 402 and the user terminal 404.
[0091] As shown in FIG. 20, the user database stores user IDs, user names, passwords, friend information, trade status, and total blocks in association with each other. As described above, the user ID is an identifier uniquely assigned to each user. The user name is the name used by the user. The password is information used as authentication information when the user logs in to the card trading system 400.
[0092] The friend information is information that indicates other users who have a friend relationship with the user. The friend information stores the user IDs of other users who have a friend relationship with the user. In this embodiment, the conditions for users to become friends with each other are not particularly limited, and it is sufficient that the users can become friends when some conditions are met.
[0093] The trade status is information indicating whether the user is currently in a card exchange session. In this embodiment, the user is restricted from participating in multiple card exchange sessions at one time. Therefore, if the user is currently in a card exchange session, the trade status is set to "in trade," and if the user is not in a session, the trade status is set to "not trading."
[0094] The overall block is information indicating whether a block state is set so that cards cannot be exchanged. A user who does not wish to exchange cards in the card trading system 400 can block card exchanges by setting the overall block. The overall block setting can be set as appropriate on a user setting screen, etc.
[0095] 21, a card trading process for exchanging cards between users in the card trading system 400 will be described. The process for exchanging cards via the server 402 will be described below, in which a first user (user X) uses the user terminal 404a and a second user (user Y) uses the user terminal 404b.
[0096] It is assumed that both the first user and the second user are already logged in to the card trading system 400. In the logged-in state, the user terminal 404a and the user terminal 404b are able to obtain information from the card database and the user database stored in the storage unit 52 of the server 402.
[0097] In step S30, the first user selects a user with whom to exchange cards and a first card with which to exchange cards. The first user is the user who proposes the card exchange. Through the processing in this step, the user terminal 404a functions as a first card selection means.
[0098] The first user starts trading cards in the card trading system 400 by operating the user terminal 404a. First, the first user selects a user with whom to trade cards. In this embodiment, only users who are friends with the first user can be selected as card exchange partners. Note that if the first user does not have any friends registered, the first user may be prompted to register a friend.
[0099] The user terminal 404a acquires information about users who are associated as friends with the user ID of the first user from the user database. As shown in FIG. 22 , the user terminal 404a displays a user selection screen 510 on the output unit 66. The user selection screen 510 displays a user selection section 512 for selecting each user who is friends with the first user as a trading partner.
[0100] The user selection section 512 includes a user icon 512a, a username display section 512b, and a trade selection section 512c. The user icon 512a displays an icon image registered in advance for each user. The username display section 512b displays the usernames of users who are friends with the first user. The trade selection section 512c displays a button that is selected (clicked, tapped, etc.) when selecting a partner for exchanging cards.
[0101] Depending on the trade status in the user database, it is preferable to exclude users whose trade status is "in trading" from the user selection section 512 of the user selection screen 510, and display only users whose trade status is "not trading" in the user selection section 512. For example, since the trade status of "User Z" with user ID "U03" is "in trading," he is not displayed in the user selection section 512 even if he is in a friend relationship with the first user "User X."
[0102] In addition, it is preferable to display the trade selection section 512d in an unselectable state for users for whom an overall block has been set, depending on the registered contents of the overall block in the user database. For example, since an overall block has been set for "User V" with the user ID "U05," the user is displayed in the user selection section 512, but the trade selection section 512d is displayed in an unselectable state (indicated by a dashed line in FIG. 22).
[0103] The first user selects a user with whom to exchange cards by selecting the trade selection section 512c in the user selection section 512 of the user with whom to exchange cards. In this embodiment, the description will be given assuming that the second user is selected as the user with whom to exchange cards.
[0104] The first user operates the user terminal 404a to select a card to be exchanged in the card trading system 400 as the first card.
[0105] The user terminal 404a obtains information about the card associated with the user ID of the first user from the card database. As shown in Fig. 23, the user terminal 404a displays a card selection screen 520 on the output unit 66. The card selection screen 520 includes a card selection section 522, an explanation area 524, a search input area 528, a confirmation button 530, and a back button 532.
[0106] The card selection section 522 is an area where the first user selects a first card. The card selection section 522 is displayed for each type of card based on image data of cards owned by the first user. The first user selects the first card to be exchanged by selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the card selection section 522 that displays the card they want to exchange. Note that the selection can be canceled by selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the selected card selection section 522 again.
[0107] Furthermore, the card selection section 522 displays a remaining card count display area 522a and an effect display area 522b. The remaining card count display area 522a displays the number of cards owned that are displayed in the card selection section 522. By checking the remaining card count display area 522a, the first user can confirm the current number of cards owned and then decide whether or not to select the card as a target for exchange. The effect display area 522b is displayed when an effect can be applied to the card displayed in the card selection section 522. The current number of cards owned and whether or not an effect is possible can be read from the card database.
[0108] It is preferable that non-exchangeable cards owned by the first user are displayed in a manner that allows them to be distinguished from the card selection section 522 for exchangeable cards, as shown as card selection section 534 in Fig. 23. A distinguishable manner includes, for example, displaying the card selection section 522 for exchangeable cards and the card selection section 534 for non-exchangeable cards with different brightness, colors, shapes, etc. Cards displayed as non-exchangeable card selection section 534 are processed so that they cannot be selected as the first card on the card selection screen 520.
[0109] Information regarding the exchange of cards is displayed in the explanation area 524. For example, in this embodiment, only cards of the same rarity can be exchanged, so an explanation such as "You will receive a card of the same rarity as the card you are sending" is displayed in the explanation area 524. Furthermore, when exchanging cards with effects applied, only cards of the same rarity and with effects applied can be exchanged, so an explanation such as "You will receive a card of the same rarity with an effect applied" is displayed in the explanation area 524.
[0110] The search input area 528 is an area for searching for cards. By entering search information about a card in the search input area 528, only cards owned by the first user that match or are related to the search information are displayed on the card selection screen 520. The search information may be, for example, card type (card name), rarity value, attributes, expansion, presence or absence of effects, etc.
[0111] Confirm button 530 is a button selected when deciding to exchange a card selected on card selection screen 520. When the first user selects (clicks, taps, etc.) confirm button 530 while selecting card selection section 522 displaying the card to be exchanged, the card corresponding to the selected card selection section 522 is set as the card to be exchanged.
[0112] The back button 532 is a button for returning to the previous screen from the card selection screen 520. If the first user wants to end the trade without selecting a card, the first user ends the trade by selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the back button 532.
[0113] FIG. 24 shows the card selection screen 520 when a card of the card type "Card B" (top center row) is selected as the first card to be exchanged. When a card is selected as the first card, the card is displayed as a card selection section 536. It is preferable that the card selection section 536 be displayed in a manner that allows it to be distinguished from the card selection sections 522 of the other cards that have not been selected. In FIG. 24, the card selection section 536 is displayed with shading, showing a display manner that is different from the other card selection sections 522. A distinguishable manner includes, for example, displaying the card selection section 536 of the first card and the card selection sections 522 of the other cards with different brightness, different colors, different shapes, etc.
[0114] When the card selection section 522 of the card to be exchanged is selected and the confirmation button 530 is selected, the card is selected as the first card to be exchanged. In this embodiment, the explanation will be given assuming that "Card B" has been selected as the first card.
[0115] If an effect can be applied to the card, the process proceeds to a selection process for whether or not to propose an exchange with the effect applied. In this case, the process transitions to an effect selection screen 540 as shown in Figure 25. Figure 25 shows an example of the effect selection screen 540 when "Card B" is selected as the first card by the first user "User X."
[0116] The effect selection screen 540 includes a card display area 542 , an effect display area 544 , an effect number display area 546 , a settings button 548 , an end button 550 , and a language button 552 .
[0117] The card display area 542 displays an image of the first card selected on the card selection screen 520. The first user can confirm which card he or she has selected as the first card by looking at the image of the card displayed in the card display area 542.
[0118] The effect display area 544 displays images of effects that can be applied to the selected first card. The user terminal 404a references the card database to read out the types of effects that can be applied to the selected first card and the number of effects that can be applied. The effect display area 544 then displays an image based on image data of an effect that corresponds to the type of effect that has been read out. The effect possession count display area 546 also displays the number of effects that are displayed in the corresponding effect display area 544. Note that the effect display area 544 and the effect possession count display area 546 may be configured to be displayed only when an effect is available for the card selected as the first card.
[0119] The first user can check the effect display area 544 and the effect possession count display area 546 to see what kind of effect can be imparted to the selected first card and how many of those effects he or she possesses, and then decide whether or not to impart the effect.
[0120] The setting button 548 is a button used when selecting an effect and setting a state in which an effect is applied or a state in which no effect is applied. By selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the setting button 548, the first card is set to a state in which an effect is applied or a state in which no effect is applied. The exit button 550 is a button for returning to the screen before transition from the effect selection screen 540. When the first user selects (clicking, tapping, etc.) the exit button 550, the processing returns to the screen immediately before transition to the effect selection screen 540.
[0121] It should be noted that another language may be selected by selecting the language button 552. In this case, the card display area 542 displays the image of the card in the selected language.
[0122] Fig. 26 shows a state in which an effect has been selected by the first user on the effect selection screen 540. Fig. 26 shows an example of the effect selection screen 540 when an effect displayed in the effect display area 544 on the right edge has been selected.
[0123] The first user can select an effect to be applied by selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the effect display area 544 in which the effect they want to apply is displayed. When an effect is selected, an image of the card with the selected effect applied is displayed in the card display area 542. This allows the first user to check the card with the effect applied and then decide whether to apply the effect to the first card and propose an exchange.
[0124] The selection can be cancelled by reselecting (by clicking, tapping, etc.) the selected effect display area 544. Also, if another effect display area 544 is selected while an effect display area 544 is selected, the previously selected effect is cancelled and the newly selected effect is applied.
[0125] A selection mark 554 may be displayed in the effect display area 544 that displays the selected effect. Information about the selected effect, such as the name of the effect, may be displayed in the effect explanation area 556.
[0126] In this way, by selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the setting button 548 with the effect applied, it is possible to propose a card exchange with the effect applied. In this embodiment, the explanation will be given assuming that the effect is applied to "Card B" selected as the first card.
[0127] In this embodiment, if an effect is applied to a card, the second user who is the exchange partner must also apply an effect to the selected card. In other words, when an effect is applied, only cards with the effect applied to each other will be eligible for exchange.
[0128] Next, if the first user owns cards of multiple expansions for the card selected as the first card, the process proceeds to selecting which expansion card to exchange. In this case, the process transitions to an expansion selection screen 560 as shown in Figure 27. Figure 27 shows an example of the expansion selection screen 560 when "Card B" is selected as the first card by the first user "User X."
[0129] The expansion selection screen 560 includes a card display area 562 , an explanation area 564 , an expansion selection area 566 , a selection mark 568 , a setting button 570 , and an end button 572 .
[0130] An image of the selected first card is displayed in the card display area 562. The first user can confirm which card he or she has selected as the first card by looking at the image of the card displayed in the card display area 562.
[0131] An explanation regarding the selection of an expansion is displayed in the explanation area 564. For example, an explanation such as "Please select which expansion you would like to give to your opponent" may be displayed. Also, for example, if the expansion of your own card does not decrease even when you select an expansion, an explanation such as "The expansion of your card will not decrease" may be displayed.
[0132] The expansion selection area 566 is an area for selecting an expansion to be given to the other party. The expansion selection area 566 displays expansion selection buttons for selecting one of all expansions associated with the user ID of the first user for the type of the currently selected first card by referring to the card database.
[0133] When "Card B" is selected as the first card by a first user "User X," in the example card database shown in FIG. 17, the first user owns "Card B" for "Expansion Ax1," "Expansion Ax2," and "Expansion Bx1." Therefore, on the expansion selection screen 560 of FIG. 27, an expansion selection button 566a for "Expansion Ax1," an expansion selection button 566b for "Expansion Ax2," and an expansion selection button 566c for "Expansion Bx1" are displayed. It is preferable to display the expansion selection buttons 566a to 566c on the expansion selection screen 560 in chronological order, starting from the top left and proceeding in order of the oldest expansion.
[0134] The first user selects (by clicking, tapping, or the like) one of the expansion selection buttons 566a-566c to select the expansion of the card to be given to the second user, with whom the card will be exchanged. It is preferable to display a selection mark 568 on the expansion selection button 566a-566c of the selected expansion. Displaying the selection mark 568 makes it easy to understand which expansion is selected. If a different expansion is selected while one of the expansions is selected, the selected expansion is canceled and the newly selected expansion becomes the currently selected expansion. Note that the expansion that was released the oldest may be automatically selected as a default setting.
[0135] The setting button 570 is a button used when setting an expansion. By selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the setting button 570, the expansion selected in the expansion selection area 566 is set as the expansion of the first card to be exchanged. The exit button 572 is a button for returning to the screen before transition from the expansion selection screen 560. When the first user selects (clicking, tapping, etc.) the exit button 572, the processing returns to the screen immediately before transition to the expansion selection screen 560. In this embodiment, the description will be given assuming that "Expansion Ax1" held by the first user has been selected for "Card B" selected as the first card.
[0136] A confirmation screen may be displayed that allows the user to confirm information about the card selected in the selection process. Also, the user may be allowed to return to the selection of the user with whom to exchange, the selection of the first card to be exchanged, the selection of the effect, and the selection of the expansion, and redo the selection.
[0137] As described above, the selection process for the exchange partner, the first card to be exchanged, the effect to be imparted, and the card expansion is performed. When the selection process is completed, the user terminal 404a transmits to the server 402, in association with the user ID of the first user, the user ID of the user to be exchanged, the card type and card ID of the first card to be exchanged, whether an effect is imparted and the type of effect to be imparted, and information indicating the card expansion.
[0138] If the card has other attributes such as language, a process for selecting those attributes may be provided. For example, if there are language attributes such as Japanese cards and English cards, it may be possible to select which card with which attribute to use as the first card to be exchanged.
[0139] In step S32, a receiving process for the user and the first card is performed. Through the process in this step, the server 402 functions as a first card receiving means. The server 402 receives the information transmitted from the user terminal 404a in step S30. As a result, the server 402 receives, in association with the user ID of the first user, the user ID of the user with whom the card is to be exchanged, the card type and card ID of the first card to be exchanged, whether or not an effect is applied and the type of effect to be applied, and information indicating the card's expansion.
[0140] 28, the server 402 assigns a unique trade ID to the trade, and stores the received information associated with the trade ID as a trade database in the storage unit 52. The server 402 also stores the date and time when the trade request was received from the user terminal 404a as the trade start date and time, associated with the trade ID.
[0141] In this embodiment, the trade database stores a trade ID "T01," a first user ID "U01," a first user name "User X," a second user ID "U02," a second user name "User Y," a first card ID "C002," a first card type "Card B," an effect "Applied," and an expansion Ax1, all in association with each other. Additionally, the start date and time of the trade, "2024 / 1 / 1 12:00," is also stored in association with each other.
[0142] Furthermore, server 402 references the user ID of the user with whom the card is to be exchanged, and transmits information about the first card to be exchanged to user terminal 404 used by that user. In this embodiment, server 402 transmits to user terminal 404b used by a second user the trade ID, the username and user ID of the first user, the card type and card ID of the first card to be exchanged, whether or not an effect is applied and the type of effect to be applied, and information indicating the card's expansion.
[0143] In step S34, information about the first card is received by the user terminal 404b of the second user. Through the processing in this step, the user terminal 404b used by the second user functions as first card receiving means. The user terminal 404b of the second user receives the information transmitted from the server 402 in step S32. As a result, the user terminal 404b accepts, in association with the user ID of the first user, information indicating the user ID of the user with whom the card will be exchanged, the card type and card ID of the first card to be exchanged, whether or not an effect is applied and the type of effect to be applied, the card expansion, and the start date and time of the trade.
[0144] The user terminal 404b displays information indicating that a trade proposal has been made to the second user. For example, as shown in FIG. 29 , a trade proposal screen 580 is displayed on the output unit 66 of the user terminal 404b.
[0145] As shown in FIG. 29, the trade proposal screen 580 includes a trade image area 582, a remaining trade time display area 584, a trade partner display area 586, a confirmation button 588, and an end button 590.
[0146] The trade image area 582 is an area that displays an image that illustrates the card trade. The remaining trade time display area 584 is an area that displays the time remaining until the deadline for the second user, who is the other party to the card exchange, to respond whether or not to accept the exchange. The trade deadline is set, for example, to a predetermined time from the trade start date and time set in step S32. The predetermined time can be, for example, three days from the trade start date and time.
[0147] The trade partner display area 586 is an area where information about the user who proposed the trade is displayed. For example, the trade partner display area 586 displays the username of the first user, such as "User X," along with the explanation, "You have received a trade request."
[0148] The confirmation button 588 is a button for confirming the details of the proposed trade. When the second user selects (e.g., clicks or taps) the confirmation button 588, the process proceeds to displaying a trade confirmation screen 600, which allows the user to confirm the details of the trade proposed by the first user. The exit button 590 is a button for returning from the trade proposal screen 580 to the screen prior to the transition. When the second user selects (e.g., clicks or taps) the exit button 590, the process returns to the screen immediately prior to the transition to the trade proposal screen 580.
[0149] In step S36, the user terminal 404b of the second user accepts or rejects the trade with the first card and selects the card to be exchanged. Through the processing in this step, the user terminal 404b used by the second user functions as a trade acceptance / rejection selection means and a second card selection means.
[0150] In step S34, when the confirmation button 588 is selected, a trade confirmation screen 600 is displayed on the output unit 66 of the user terminal 404b. As shown in FIG. 30 , the trade confirmation screen 600 includes a trade partner display area 602, a card display area 604, a remaining trade time display area 606, a trade reject button 608, a trade accept button 610, and an end button 612.
[0151] The trade partner display area 602 displays information about the user who proposed the trade. For example, the trade partner display area 586 displays the username of the first user, such as "User X." The card display area 604 is an area that displays information about the first card that the first user is proposing to trade. For example, an image of the first card is displayed in the card display area 604. If an effect is applied to the first card, it is preferable to display an image of the first card with an image of the effect superimposed in the card display area 604. It is also preferable to display information about the expansion of the first card in the card display area 604.
[0152] Furthermore, when the card database is referenced and the combination of the first card type and expansion corresponds to a combination of a card type and expansion that the second user does not currently own, a NEW mark 604a may be displayed in the card display area 604. This allows the second user to easily understand by checking the trade confirmation screen 600 that the combination of the first card type and expansion proposed for exchange by the first user is a combination of a card type and expansion that the second user does not currently own.
[0153] The remaining trade time display area 606 displays the time remaining until the deadline for the second user, who is the other party to the card exchange, to respond as to whether or not to accept the exchange. The remaining trade time display area 606 is displayed in the same manner as the remaining trade time display area 584 on the trade proposal screen 580.
[0154] The trade reject button 608 is a button that is selected when the second user wishes to reject the card exchange. The second user can reject the card exchange by selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the trade reject button 608. When the trade reject button 608 is selected, the user terminal 404b transmits to the server 402 the trade ID and information indicating that the card exchange has been rejected.
[0155] The trade accept button 610 is a button that is selected when accepting the exchange of cards. The second user can accept the exchange of cards by selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the trade accept button 610. When the trade accept button 610 is selected, the user terminal 404b proceeds to a process in which the second user selects a second card to be exchanged.
[0156] The exit button 612 is a button for returning to the screen prior to transition from the trade confirmation screen 600. When the second user selects (clicks, taps, etc.) the exit button 612, the processing returns to the screen immediately prior to transition to the trade confirmation screen 600.
[0157] When the trade accept button 610 is selected, the second user selects a card to be exchanged from the cards owned by the second user as the second card. The user terminal 404b acquires information about the card associated with the second user's user ID from the card database. The user terminal 404b displays a screen similar to the card selection screen 520 shown in FIG. 23 based on the acquired information about the card owned by the second user.
[0158] In this embodiment, since only cards of the same rarity as the first card can be exchanged, it is preferable to display only cards of the same rarity as the first card among those owned by the second user in the card selection section 522. At this time, the explanation area 524 displays an explanation indicating the conditions of the trade, such as "Please send me a card of the same rarity." If the second user does not own a card of the same rarity as the first card, a message to that effect is displayed, and the screen is forcibly returned to the previous screen.
[0159] Furthermore, in this embodiment, if an effect is applied to the first card, the second card cannot be traded unless an effect is also applied to the first card. Therefore, it is preferable that only cards owned by the second user that can have effects applied are displayed in the card selection section 522. At this time, the explanation area 524 displays an explanation indicating the conditions of the trade, such as "Please choose from cards with effects." If the second user does not own a card of the same rarity as the first card and that also has an effect, a message to that effect is displayed, and the screen is forcibly returned to the previous screen.
[0160] The second user selects a card to be exchanged for the first card as the second card on the card selection screen 520 displayed on the user terminal 404b. When the card selection section 522 of the card to be exchanged is selected and the confirmation button 530 is selected, the card is selected as the second card to be exchanged. The selection process of the second card by the second user on the card selection screen 520 can be performed in the same manner as the selection process of the first card by the first user in step S30.
[0161] If an effect needs to be applied to a card, the screen transitions to an effect selection screen 540, as in Fig. 25. The second user performs a process of applying an effect to the second card selected on the effect selection screen 540. The process of applying an effect to the second card on the effect selection screen 540 can be performed in the same manner as the process of applying an effect to the first card in step S30.
[0162] Furthermore, if the second user owns cards of multiple expansions for the card selected as the second card, the process proceeds to selecting which expansion card to exchange. In this case, similar to FIG. 27 , the process transitions to an expansion selection screen 560. An expansion selection area 566 of the expansion selection screen 560 displays expansion selection buttons for all expansions owned by the second user for the card selected as the second card. The second user selects an expansion for the second card to be exchanged on the expansion selection screen 560. The selection process for the expansion of the second card on the expansion selection screen 560 can be performed in the same manner as the selection process for the expansion of the first card in step S30.
[0163] A confirmation screen may be displayed that allows the user to confirm information about the card selected in the selection process. Also, the user may be allowed to return to the selection of the user with whom to exchange, the selection of the second card to be exchanged, the selection of the effect, and the selection of the expansion, and redo the selection.
[0164] As described above, the selection process for the second card to be exchanged, the effect to be applied, and the card expansion is performed. When the selection process is completed, the user terminal 404b transmits to the server 402, in association with the user ID of the second user, the trade ID, the user ID of the first user with whom the card will be exchanged, the card type and card ID of the second card to be exchanged, whether or not an effect is applied and the type of effect to be applied, and information indicating the card expansion.
[0165] If the card has other attributes such as language, a process for selecting those attributes may be provided. For example, if there are language attributes such as Japanese cards and English cards, it may be possible to select which card with which attribute to use as the first card to be exchanged.
[0166] In addition, during the period when the first user is waiting for a response from the second user, the user terminal 404a used by the first user may be configured to display a standby screen indicating that the first user is waiting for a response from the second user, who is the exchange partner.
[0167] In step S38, a process for receiving the second card is performed. Through the process in this step, the server 402 functions as a second card accepting unit. The server 402 receives the information transmitted from the user terminal 404b in step S36.
[0168] If the trade is rejected by the second user in step S36, the server 402 receives information indicating that the trade has been rejected along with the trade ID. In this case, as shown in Figure 31, the "Acceptance or Rejection by Exchange Partner" field for the trade proposal stored in the trade database in step S32 in association with the received trade ID is set to "Rejected." Furthermore, the server 402 transmits information indicating that the trade has been rejected to the user terminal 404a used by the first user.
[0169] Furthermore, if no acceptance or rejection response is received from the second user by the deadline for the second user to respond as to whether or not to accept the exchange, the trade will be deemed unsuccessful and will be handled in the same manner as if the trade had been rejected.
[0170] In step S36, if the second user accepts the trade, the server 402 accepts, in association with the user ID of the second user, the trade ID, the user ID of the first user with whom the card will be exchanged, the card type and card ID of the second card to be exchanged, whether or not an effect is applied and the type of effect to be applied, and information indicating the card expansion.
[0171] As shown in FIG. 32 , the server 402 stores the received information in the storage unit 52 as a trade database in association with the received trade ID. First, the "Acceptance or Rejection by Exchange Partner" field for the trade proposal stored in the trade database in step S32 in association with the received trade ID is set to "Accepted." Furthermore, the server 402 newly stores the trade ID, the user ID and user name of the first user, the user ID and user name of the second user, the card type and card ID of the second card to be exchanged, whether or not an effect is applied and the type of effect applied, and information indicating the card expansion. The server 402 also stores the date and time when the trade acceptance from the user terminal 404b was accepted as the trade acceptance date and time in association with the trade ID.
[0172] In this embodiment, the trade database stores a trade ID "T01," a first user ID "U01," a first user name "User X," a second user ID "U02," a second user name "User Y," a second card ID "C003," a second card type "Card C," an effect "Add," and an "Expansion Ax1" in association with each other. Additionally, the trade acceptance date and time "2024 / 1 / 2 13:20" is stored in association with each other.
[0173] Furthermore, the server 402 references the user ID of the first user and transmits information about the second card to be exchanged to the user terminal 404a used by the first user. The server 402 transmits to the user terminal 404a used by the first user the trade ID, the username and user ID of the second user, the card type and card ID of the second card to be exchanged, whether or not an effect is applied and the type of effect, and information indicating the card expansion.
[0174] In step S40, the information on the second card is received by the user terminal 404a of the first user. Through the processing in this step, the user terminal 404a used by the first user functions as a second card receiving means. The user terminal 404a of the first user receives the information transmitted from the server 402 in step S38.
[0175] If the trade is rejected by the second user, the user terminal 404a receives information indicating that the trade has been rejected from the server 402. The user terminal 404a displays a screen indicating that the trade has been rejected on the output unit 66, and ends the trade.
[0176] If the second user accepts the trade, the user terminal 404a receives the trade ID, the username and user ID of the second user, the card type and card ID of the second card to be exchanged, whether or not an effect is applied and the type of effect to be applied, and information indicating the card's expansion.
[0177] The user terminal 404a displays information indicating that the trade has been accepted to the first user. For example, a trade proposal screen 580 is displayed on the output unit 66 of the user terminal 404a. As shown in FIG. 29 , the trade proposal screen 580 includes a trade image area 582, a remaining trade time display area 584, a trade partner display area 586, a confirmation button 588, and an end button 590.
[0178] The trade image area 582 is an area that displays an image that illustrates the trading of cards. The remaining trade time display area 584 is an area that displays the time remaining until the deadline for the first user to respond as to whether or not to accept the exchange. The trade deadline is set, for example, to a predetermined time from the trade acceptance date and time set in step S38. The predetermined time can be, for example, three days from the trade acceptance date and time.
[0179] Information about the user who proposed the trade is displayed in the trade partner display area 586. For example, the trade partner display area 586 displays the username of the second user, such as "User Y," along with the explanation, "Your reply has arrived."
[0180] The confirmation button 588 is a button for confirming the details of the proposed trade. When the first user selects (e.g., clicks or taps) the confirmation button 588, the process proceeds to displaying a trade confirmation screen 620, which allows the first user to confirm the details of the trade proposed by the second user. The exit button 590 is a button for returning from the trade proposal screen 580 to the screen before transition. When the first user selects (e.g., clicks or taps) the exit button 590, the process returns to the screen immediately before transitioning to the trade proposal screen 580.
[0181] In step S42, the user terminal 404a of the first user performs a selection process to accept or reject the trade with the second card. Through the process in this step, the user terminal 404a used by the first user functions as a trade acceptance / rejection selection means.
[0182] In step S40, when the confirmation button 588 is selected, a trade confirmation screen 620 is displayed on the output unit 66 of the user terminal 404a. As shown in FIG. 33 , the trade confirmation screen 620 includes a trade partner display area 622, a second card display area 624, a first card display area 626, a remaining trade time display area 628, a trade reject button 630, a trade accept button 632, and an end button 634.
[0183] The trade partner display area 622 displays information about the second user. For example, the trade partner display area 622 displays the username of the second user, such as "User Y." The second card display area 624 is an area that displays information about the second card proposed for exchange by the second user. For example, an image of the second card is displayed in the second card display area 624. If an effect is applied to the second card, it is preferable to display an image of the second card with an image of the effect superimposed in the second card display area 624. It is also preferable to display information about the expansion of the second card in the second card display area 624.
[0184] Furthermore, when the card database is referenced and the combination of the second card type and expansion is a combination of a card type and expansion that the first user does not currently own, a NEW mark 624a may be displayed in the second card display area 624. This allows the first user to easily understand by checking the trade confirmation screen 620 that the combination of the second card type and expansion proposed for exchange by the second user is a combination of a card type and expansion that the first user does not currently own.
[0185] The first card display area 626 is an area that displays information about the first card selected by the first user. For example, an image of the first card is displayed in the first card display area 626. If an effect is applied to the first card, it is preferable to display an image of the first card with an image of the effect superimposed in the first card display area 626. It is also preferable to display information about the expansion of the first card in the first card display area 626.
[0186] The remaining trade time display area 628 is an area that displays the time remaining until the deadline for the first user to respond as to whether or not to accept the exchange.
[0187] The trade reject button 630 is a button that is selected when the first user wishes to reject the exchange of cards. The first user can reject the exchange of cards by selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the trade reject button 630. When the trade reject button 630 is selected, the user terminal 404a transmits to the server 402 the trade ID and information indicating that the card exchange has been rejected.
[0188] The trade accept button 632 is a button that is selected when accepting the card exchange. The first user can accept the card exchange by selecting (clicking, tapping, etc.) the trade accept button 632. When the trade accept button 632 is selected, the user terminal 404a transmits to the server 402 the trade ID and information indicating that the card exchange has been accepted.
[0189] Note that when the trade accept button 632 is selected, a process may be performed to further confirm acceptance of the trade. For example, a process may be performed to display an explanation such as "Confirm the trade and exchange the cards between the players? (You cannot undo a trade before it is made)" and have the first user confirm the decision.
[0190] The exit button 634 is a button for returning to the screen prior to transition from the trade confirmation screen 620. When the first user selects (clicks, taps, etc.) the exit button 634, the processing returns to the screen immediately prior to transition to the trade confirmation screen 620.
[0191] In step S44, a process of receiving the acceptance or rejection of the second card is performed. Through the process in this step, the server 402 functions as a second card acceptance rejection receiving unit. The server 402 receives the information transmitted from the user terminal 404a in step S42.
[0192] If the trade is rejected by the first user in step S42, the server 402 receives information indicating that the trade has been rejected along with the trade ID. In this case, as shown in Figure 34, the "Acceptance or Rejection by Exchange Partner" field for the trade proposal stored in the trade database in step S38 in association with the received trade ID is set to "Rejected." Furthermore, the server 402 transmits information indicating that the trade has been rejected to the user terminal 404b used by the second user.
[0193] Furthermore, if no acceptance or rejection response is received from the first user by the deadline for the first user to respond as to whether or not to accept the exchange, the trade will be deemed unsuccessful and will be handled in the same manner as if the trade had been rejected.
[0194] If the trade is accepted by the second user in step S42, the server 402 sets the "Acceptance or Rejection by Exchange Partner" item for the trade proposal stored in the trade database in step S38 to "Accepted," as shown in Figure 35. Furthermore, the server 402 transmits information indicating that the trade has been accepted to the user terminal 404b used by the second user.
[0195] In step S46, the first user performs a process of acquiring a second card in association with the exchange. Through the process in this step, the user terminal 404a used by the first user functions as a second card acquisition unit.
[0196] In step S42, when the trade is accepted by the first user, the user terminal 404a displays a card exchange screen 640 on the output unit 66. As shown in FIG. 36 , the card exchange screen 640 includes an explanation area 642, a sending card display area 644, and an end button 646.
[0197] The explanation area 642 is an area that explains the operations for sending the first card and obtaining the second card. For example, the explanation area 642 displays an explanation such as "Swipe the card to send it to the other person."
[0198] The sending card display area 644 is an area where information about a card to be sent to the other party is displayed. For example, the sending card display area 644 displays an image of a first card that the first user will exchange with the second user.
[0199] When the first user swipes the image of the card displayed in the sending card display area 644, a process to acquire a second card is performed. When the first user swipes the image of the first card displayed in the sending card display area 644, the image of the first card is erased, and an image of the second card to be exchanged is displayed on the card exchange screen 640, as shown in Fig. 37. In addition, information indicating that the first user has executed the process to acquire the second card is transmitted from the user terminal 404a to the server 402.
[0200] The exit button 646 is a button for returning to the screen before transition from the card exchange screen 640. When the first user selects (clicks, taps, etc.) the exit button 646, the processing returns to the screen immediately before transition to the card exchange screen 640.
[0201] In step S48, the second user performs a process of acquiring the first card associated with the exchange. Through the process in this step, the user terminal 404b used by the second user functions as a first card acquisition unit.
[0202] In step S44, when the server 402 transmits information indicating that the first user has accepted the trade to the user terminal 404b used by the second user, the user terminal 404b receives the information. When the information indicating that the first user has accepted the trade is transmitted to the user terminal 404b, the output unit 66 displays a card exchange screen 640. The card exchange screen 640, similar to that shown in FIG. 36 , includes an explanation area 642, a sending card display area 644, and an end button 646.
[0203] The explanation area 642 is an area that explains the operations for sending the second card and acquiring the first card. For example, the explanation area 642 displays an explanation such as "Swipe the card to send it to the other party." The sending card display area 644 displays, for example, an image of the second card that the second user will exchange with the first user. When the second user swipes the image of the card displayed in the sending card display area 644, a process for acquiring the first card is performed. When the second user swipes the image of the second card displayed in the sending card display area 644, the image of the second card is erased, and an image of the first card to be exchanged is displayed on the card exchange screen 640. In addition, information indicating that the second user has executed the process for acquiring the first card is transmitted from the user terminal 404b to the server 402.
[0204] In step S50, post-processing is performed in association with the exchange of the first card and the second card. Through the processing in this step, the server 402 functions as a post-processing unit.
[0205] In step S46, when the first user executes the process of acquiring a second card, the server 402 receives information indicating that the first user has executed the process of acquiring a second card. The server 402 reduces, by one, the number of expansions owned that have been exchanged for the second card associated with the user ID of the second user in the card database. The server 402 also increases, by one, the number of expansions owned that have been exchanged for the type of card corresponding to the second card acquired from the second user, associated with the user ID of the first user in the card database. At this time, if an effect is applied to the exchanged second card, the server 402 reduces by one the number of effects for the second card associated with the user ID of the second user, and increases by one the number of effects for the type of card corresponding to the second card, associated with the user ID of the first user.
[0206] In step S48, when the second user executes the process of acquiring the first card, the server 402 receives information indicating that the second user has executed the process of acquiring the first card. The server 402 decreases, by one, the number of expansions owned that have been exchanged for the first card associated with the user ID of the first user in the card database. The server 402 also increases, by one, the number of expansions owned that have been exchanged for the type of card corresponding to the first card acquired from the first user, associated with the user ID of the second user in the card database. At this time, if the exchanged first card has an effect, the server 402 decreases, by one, the number of effects for the first card associated with the user ID of the first user, and increases, by one, the number of effects for the type of card corresponding to the first card, associated with the user ID of the second user.
[0207] It should be noted that the process of acquiring the second card by the first user in step S46 and the process of acquiring the first card by the second user in step S48 do not need to be performed simultaneously.
