[0040] SON, which encompasses solutions for network self-configuration and self-optimization, has been introduced to support deployment of system and performance optimization. MRO is one of SON functions. One of functions of MRO is to detect and enable correction of following problems: a connection failure due to intra-system or inter-system mobility; inter-system unnecessary handover such as a too early inter-system HO from NR to E-UTRAN with no RLF; inter-system HO ping-pong; or a PSCell change failure. MRO provides means to distinguish the above problems from NR coverage related problems and other problems unrelated to mobility. For detection of a sub-optimal successful mobility, MRO additionally enables observability of a successful HO due to intra-NR and inter-RAT mobility or a successful PSCell change. With introduction of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) as a new mobility procedure, the MRO functions for SON need to be further enhanced for better performance of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0041] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide solutions of communication for MRO for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) so as to overcome the above and other potential issues. In one aspect, a network device may transmit, to a terminal device, a configuration for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) . The terminal device may store information (also referred to as first information herein) of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) in a variable (also referred to as a first variable herein) for a RLF report or a variable (also referred to as a second variable herein) for a SHR. In this way, the terminal device may report the information of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) to a network (NW) via a RLF report or SHR, and the NW may adjust and optimize a configuration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) based on the reported  information.

[0042] In another aspect, a network device may transmit, to a terminal device, a configuration for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) . If a SCG failure happens, the terminal device may transmit, to the network device, information (also referred to as fifth information herein) of the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs in a SCG failure information message. In this way, the terminal device may report the information of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) to a NW via the SCG failure information message, and the NW may adjust and optimize a configuration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) based on the reported information.

[0043] In another aspect, a SN (i.e., a target SN) providing a target PSCell for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) may transmit failure information (also referred to as first failure information herein) of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) to a MN (i.e., a target MN) providing a target PCell for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . The MN may transmit second failure information of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) to a further MN (i.e., a source MN) providing a source PCell for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In this way, a source MN and a target MN may obtain CHO failure information early.

[0044] In another aspect, a MN (i.e., a target MN) providing a target PCell for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) may receive, from a further MN (i.e., a source MN) providing a source PCell for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) , mobility information (also referred to as third mobility information herein) of a PCell change from the source PCell to the target PCell. The MN may transmit the third mobility information to a SN (i.e., a target SN) providing a target PSCell for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In this way, a target MN may receive SN mobility information from a target SN. Thus, the target MN may correlate MN mobility information received from a source MN with the SN mobility information for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure.

[0045] Principles and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the figures.

[0047] FIG. 1 illustrates a schematic diagram of an example communication environment 100 in which embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. As shown in FIG. 1, the communication environment 100 may comprise a terminal device 110 and network devices 120, 130, 140 and 150. Each of the network devices 120, 130, 140 and 150 may provide one or more cells for serving one or more terminal devices. For convenience, a cell  121, a cell 131, a cell 141 and a cell 151 is shown as being provided by the network devices 120, 130, 140 and 150 respectively. The terminal device 110 is shown as being located in the cell 121 and served by the network device 120.

[0048] It is to be understood that the number of devices or cells in FIG. 1 is given for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitations to the present disclosure. The communication environment 100 may involve any suitable number of network devices and / or terminal devices and / or cells adapted for implementing implementations of the present disclosure.

[0049] The communications in the communication environment 100 may conform to any suitable standards including, but not limited to, global system for mobile communications (GSM) , long term evolution (LTE) , LTE-evolution, LTE-advanced (LTE-A) , new radio (NR) , wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) , code division multiple access (CDMA) , GSM EDGE radio access network (GERAN) , machine type communication (MTC) and the like. The embodiments of the present disclosure may be performed according to any generation communication protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Examples of the communication protocols include, but not limited to, the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, 5.5G, 5G-advanced networks, or the sixth generation (6G) networks.

[0050] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may establish a dual connection (i.e., simultaneous connection) with two network devices. For example, the network device 120 may serve as an MN (for convenience, also referred to as MN 120 below) , and the network device 130 may serve as a SN (for convenience, also referred to as SN 130 below) . Although only the cell 121 is shown, the MN 120 may provide multiple cells, and these cells may form a MCG for the terminal device 110. For example, the cell 121 is a primary cell (i.e., PCell) in the MCG. Although only the cell 131 is shown, the SN 130 may provide multiple cells, and these cells may form a SCG for the terminal device 110. For example, the cell 131 is a primary cell (i.e., PSCell) in the SCG.

[0051] The SN 130 may communicate with the terminal device 120 via a channel such as a wireless communication channel. Similarly, the MN 110 may also communicate with the terminal device 120 via a channel such as a wireless communication channel. The SN 130 may communicate with the MN 110 via a Xn interface.

[0052] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform a PCell change from the MN 120 to a further MN (e.g., the network device 140, also referred to as MN 140) and a PSCell change from the SN 130 to a further SN (e.g., the network device 150, also referred to as SN 150) simultaneously. This procedure is a CHO with candidate SCG (s) procedure. In this case, the MN 120 serves as a source MN, the MN 140 serves as a target MN, the SN 130 serves as a source SN, and the SN 150 serves as a target SN. For example, the cell 121 is a source PCell, the cell 141 is a target PCell, the cell 131 is a source PSCell, and the cell 151 is a target PSCell. It is to be understood that operations of the MN 140 and the SN 150 are similar as that described for the MN 120 and the SN 130, and thus are not repeated here for conciseness.

[0053] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may start evaluating execution conditions for candidate PCell (s) and candidate PSCell (s) simultaneously upon reception of a configuration of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may stop evaluating the execution conditions once a PCell change or a PSCell change is triggered. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may not execute the CHO with candidate SCG (s) until execution conditions for both a candidate PCell and a candidate PSCell associated with the candidate PCell are fulfilled. In other words, the terminal device 110 may execute a PCell change with PSCell addition / change when the execution conditions for both candidate PCell and the associated candidate PSCell are fulfilled.

[0054] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide solutions of communication for MRO for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) so as to provide SON enhancement for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) . The solutions will be described in connection with FIGs. 2 to 5 below.

[0055] EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF RLF REPORT AND SHR

[0056] Conventionally, UE stores information of CHO and reports to NW. However, the information of CHO does not contain information related to a CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0057] In view of this, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution of storing information of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) in a RLF report or SHR. The solution will be described in connection with FIG. 2 below. FIG. 2 illustrates a schematic diagram illustrating an example process 200 of communication according to embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 200 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 200 may involve the terminal device 110 and the network  device 120. In this example, the terminal device 110 is served by the network device 120.

[0058] As shown in FIG. 2, the network device 120 may transmit 210, to the terminal device 110, a configuration for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the configuration may indicate a set of candidate PCells and a set of execution conditions for a candidate PCell (e.g., each candidate PCell) in the set of candidate PCells. The configuration may also indicate a set of candidate PSCells and a set of execution conditions for a candidate PSCell (e.g., each candidate PSCell) in the set of candidate PSCells. A candidate PCell in the set of candidate PCells is associated with a candidate PSCell in the set of candidate PSCells.

[0059] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise a set of conditional reconfigurations. A conditional reconfiguration in the set of conditional reconfigurations may comprise information (e.g., an ID) of a candidate PCell and a candidate PSCell. In this way, the candidate PCell may be associated with the candidate PSCell. The conditional reconfiguration may also comprise information of a set of execution conditions for the candidate PCell and a set of execution conditions for the candidate PSCell. In some embodiments, each candidate PCell or PSCell may be associated with one or more execution conditions.

[0060] Continuing to refer to FIG. 2, the terminal device 110 may store 220 first information of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . The first information may be used for SON enhancement for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0061] With reference to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may store 221 the first information in a first variable (e.g., VarRLF-Report) for a RLF report. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 supports a RLF report for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) , the terminal device 110 may store the first information in the first variable for the RLF report.

[0062] With reference to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may store 222 the first information in a second variable (e.g., VarSuccessHO-Report) for a SHR. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 supports a SHR for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) , the terminal device 110 may store the first information in the second variable for the SHR.

[0063] In some embodiments, the first information may comprise an ID of a candidate PSCell in the set of candidate PSCells for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In other words,  the first information may comprise an ID of a candidate PSCell of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) (may also be called as a candidate PSCell associated with a candidate PCell) .

[0064] In some embodiments, the first information may comprise information (also referred to as second information herein) of an execution condition for the set of candidate PCells for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the second information may comprise a set of execution conditions associated with a candidate PCell (also referred to as a first candidate PCell herein) in the set of candidate PCells to trigger an execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the second information may comprise an execution condition (also referred to as a first execution condition herein) associated with the first candidate PCell that is fulfilled first in time. In some embodiments, the second information may comprise a time duration between a point of time (also referred to as a first point of time herein) in which the first execution condition is fulfilled and a point of time (also referred to as a second point of time herein) in which an execution condition (also referred to as a second execution condition herein) associated with the first candidate PCell that is fulfilled second in time. It is to be understood that the second information may comprise any combination of the above second information.

[0065] In some embodiments, the second information may be set in measurement results for neighboring cells (e.g., in an information element (IE) ‘measResultNeighCells’ ) , which is also included in the RLF report or SHR. In some embodiments, if a first neighboring cell associated with a first measurement result is the first candidate PCell in the set of candidate PCells, the terminal device 110 may store the second information in the first measurement result for the first neighboring cell. In some embodiments, if a first neighboring cell associated with a first measurement result is the candidate PSCell associated with the first candidate PCell, the terminal device 110 may store the second information in the first measurement result for the first neighboring cell.

[0066] In some embodiments, the first information may comprise information (also referred to as third information herein) of an execution condition for the set of candidate PSCells for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the third information may comprise a set of execution conditions associated with a candidate PSCell (also referred to as a first candidate PSCell herein) in the set of candidate PSCells. In some embodiments, the third information may comprise an execution condition (also referred to as a third execution condition herein) associated with the first candidate PSCell that is fulfilled first in  time. In some embodiments, the third information may comprise a time duration between a point of time (also referred to as a third point of time herein) in which the third execution condition is fulfilled and a point of time (also referred to as a fourth point of time herein) in which an execution condition (also referred to as a fourth execution condition herein) associated with the first candidate PSCell that is fulfilled second in time. It is to be understood that the third information may comprise any combination of the above third information.

[0067] In some embodiments, the third information may be set in measurement results for neighboring cells (e.g., in an IE ‘measResultNeighCells’ ) , which is also included in the RLF report or SHR. In some embodiments, if a second neighboring cell associated with a second measurement result is the first candidate PSCell in the set of candidate PSCells, the terminal device 110 may store the third information in the second measurement result for the second neighboring cell. In some embodiments, if a second neighboring cell associated with a second measurement result is the candidate PCell associated with the first candidate PSCell, the terminal device 110 may store the third information in the second measurement result for the second neighboring cell.

[0068] In some embodiments, the first information may comprise an ID of a target PSCell associated with a target PCell for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . For example, if the terminal device 110 executes a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) towards the target PCell, the terminal device 110 may cause the ID of the target PSCell to be included in the first information.

[0069] In some embodiments, the first information may comprise an indication that a handover type is the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0070] In some embodiments, the first information may comprise information (also referred to as fourth information herein) of a SCG failure. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine that the SCG failure happens when neither MCG nor SCG transmission is suspended and when one of the following conditions is fulfilled: upon detecting RLF for a SCG; upon detecting beam failure of a PSCell while a SCG is deactivated; upon reconfiguration with sync failure of a SCG; upon SCG configuration failure; upon integrity check failure indication from SCG lower layers concerning signaling radio bearer 3 (SRB3) .

[0071] In some embodiments, the fourth information may comprise an indication that a  reconfiguration with sync failure happens for SCG during execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the fourth information may comprise a set of available measurement results associated with a SCG, e.g., a set of available measurement results the terminal device 110 is configured to measure by a measurement configuration associated with the SCG. In some embodiments, the fourth information may comprise time information of the SCG failure, e.g., time elapsed since the last execution of a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration with a reconfiguration with sync for the SCG until the SCG failure. In some embodiments, the fourth information may comprise information of a random access (RA) procedure in a SCG, e.g., information about each of random access attempts of the RA procedure in the SCG. It is to be understood that the fourth information may comprise any combination of the above fourth information. It is also to be understood that the first information may comprise any combination of the above first information.

[0072] By storing information of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) in a variable for a RLF report or SHR, the information of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) may be reported to NW for SON enhancement.

[0073] Alternatively or additionally, information of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) may be reported to NW via a SHR by a setting of a triggering condition for the SHR. In some embodiments, if a reconfiguration with sync for a SCG fails during execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) , the terminal device 110 may generate the SHR. For example, the terminal device 110 may perform an execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) , and then perform a SHR determination procedure. During the SHR determination procedure, the terminal device 110 may determine to store the successful handover information and then determine content of the SHR (e.g., VarSuccessHO-Report) if the following condition is met: a reconfiguration with sync for the SCG fails during execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0074] As shown in FIG. 2, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive 230, from the network device 120, an indication that the terminal device 110 generates the SHR upon failure of the reconfiguration with sync for the SCG during the execution of the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive the indication in a SHR configuration (e.g., successHO-Config) from the network device 120. It is to be understood that the indication is optional.

[0075] With reference to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine 240 that the reconfiguration with sync for the SCG fails during the execution of the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In this case, the terminal device 110 may generate 250 the SHR. That is, the terminal device 110 may determine to store successful handover information and determine content of the SHR.

[0076] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the content of the SHR based on a conventional solution. Based on reception of the SHR, the network device 120 may determine information that a reconfiguration with sync for a SCG fails during execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) , and use the information e.g., for optimization of a configuration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0077] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the content of the SHR by storing the first information for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) in a variable for the SHR as described in the step 222. In this way, the network device 120 may obtain the first information of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) , e.g., for optimization of a configuration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0078] With the process 200, a terminal device may report information of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) to NW via a RLF report or SHR. The NW may adjust and optimize a configuration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) based on the reported information.

[0079] It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 2 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. More or less steps may also be feasible. The embodiments described in connection with FIG. 2 may be carried out separately or in any suitable combinations.

[0080] EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF SCG FAILURE INFORMATION

[0081] Conventionally, UE reports SCG failure information by a SCG failure information message, but does not report a SCG failure during a CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0082] In view of this, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution of reporting information of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) in a SCG failure information message. The solution will be described in connection with FIG. 3 below. FIG. 3 illustrates a schematic diagram illustrating another example process 300 of communication according to embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 300 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 300 may involve the terminal device 110 and the network device 120. In this example, the terminal device 110 is served by the  network device 120.

[0083] As shown in FIG. 3, the network device 120 may transmit 310, to the terminal device 110, a configuration for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0084] In some embodiments, the configuration may comprise a set of conditional reconfigurations.

[0085] Continuing to refer to FIG. 3, the terminal device 110 may determine 320 that a SCG failure happens. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine that the SCG failure happens when neither MCG nor SCG transmission is suspended and when one of the following conditions is fulfilled: upon detecting RLF for a SCG; upon detecting beam failure of a PSCell while a SCG is deactivated; upon reconfiguration with sync failure of a SCG; upon SCG configuration failure; upon integrity check failure indication from SCG lower layers concerning SRB3.

[0086] With reference to FIG. 3, upon SCG failure, the terminal device 110 may transmit 330, to the network device 120, information (also referred to as fifth information herein) of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) in a SCG failure information message. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 supports a transmission of SCG failure information for MRO for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) , the terminal device 110 may transmit the fifth information, e.g., by causing the fifth information to be included in the SCG failure information message.

[0087] In some embodiments, the fifth information may comprise information (also referred to as sixth information herein) of an execution condition for the set of candidate PCells for  the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the sixth information may comprise a set of execution conditions associated with a candidate PCell (also referred to as a second candidate PCell herein) in the set of candidate PCells. In some embodiments, the sixth information may comprise an execution condition (also referred to as a fifth execution condition herein) associated with the second candidate PCell that is fulfilled first in time. In some embodiments, the sixth information may comprise a time duration between a point of time (also referred to as a fifth point of time herein) in which the fifth execution condition is fulfilled and a point of time (also referred to as a sixth point of time herein) in which an execution condition (also referred to as a sixth execution condition herein) associated with the second candidate PCell that is fulfilled second in time. It is to be understood that the sixth information may comprise any combination of the above sixth information.

[0088] In some embodiments, the sixth information may be set in measurement results for neighboring cells (e.g., in an IE ‘measResultNeighCells’ ) , which is also included in the SCG failure information message. In some embodiments, if a third neighboring cell associated with a third measurement result is the second candidate PCell in the set of candidate PCells, the terminal device 110 may store the sixth information in the third measurement result for the third neighboring cell. In some embodiments, if a fourth neighboring cell associated with a fourth measurement result is the candidate PSCell associated with the second candidate PCell, the terminal device 110 may store the sixth information in the fourth measurement result for the fourth neighboring cell.

[0089] In some embodiments, the fifth information may comprise an ID of a target PCell associated with a target PSCell for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . For example, if the terminal device 110 executes a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) towards the target PCell, the terminal device 110 may cause the ID of the target PSCell to be included in the fifth information.

[0090] In some embodiments, the fifth information may comprise an indication that a reconfiguration with sync failure for SCG happens during execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0091] In some embodiments, the fifth information may comprise a time duration between a successful completion of a reconfiguration with sync for MCG and a failure of a reconfiguration with sync for SCG. It is to be understood that the fifth information may comprise any combination of the above fifth information.

[0092] With the process 300, a terminal device may report, to NW, SCG failure information comprising information of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) . The NW may adjust and optimize a configuration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) based on the reported information.

[0093] It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 3 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. More or less steps may also be feasible. The embodiments described in connection with FIG. 3 may be carried out separately or in any suitable combinations.

[0094] EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF NW ENHANCEMENT

[0095] During execution of a conditional reconfiguration for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) , a CHO may fail but a conditional PSCell addition or change (CPAC) may be successful, i.e., a target SN may have detected a successful access of UE. However, a target MN and a source MN is not aware of the failure of CHO.

[0096] In view of this, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution of communication among network devices. The solution will be described in connection with FIG. 4 below. FIG. 4 illustrates a schematic diagram illustrating still another example process 400 of communication according to embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 400 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 400 may involve the terminal device 110 and the network devices 120, 140 and 150. In this example, the terminal device 110 is configured with a CHO with candidate SCG (s) . The network device 120 is a source MN, the network device 130 is a source SN, the network device 140 is a target MN, and the network device 150 is a target SN. The cell 121 is a source PCell, the cell 131 is a source PSCell, the cell 141 is a target PCell and the cell 151 is a target PSCell.

[0097] As shown in FIG. 4, the terminal device 110 may determine 410 that an execution of a conditional reconfiguration for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) can be triggered. For example, when execution conditions for a candidate PCell (e.g., the cell 141) and a candidate PSCell (e.g., the cell 151) in the conditional reconfiguration are fulfilled simultaneously, the terminal device 110 may determine that the execution of the conditional reconfiguration can be triggered.

[0098] Then the terminal device 110 may execute the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . With reference to FIG. 4, the terminal device 110 may  perform 420 a RA procedure towards the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) . Upon access to the network device 140, the terminal device 110 may transmit 421, to the network device 140, a RRC reconfiguration complete message comprising a SN RRC reconfiguration complete message. The terminal device 110 may also perform 430 a RA procedure towards the network device 150 (i.e., target SN) . It is assumed that the terminal device 110 successfully accesses to the network device 150.

[0099] As shown in FIG. 4, the network device 150 (i.e., target SN) may determine or detect 440 that a failure happens during the execution of the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . For example, after the terminal device 110 successfully accesses to the network device 150, the network device 150 (i.e., target SN) does not receive the SN RRC reconfiguration complete message forwarded by the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) . In this case, the network device 150 may determine that CHO fails but a conditional PSCell addition (CPA) or conditional PSCell change (CPC) is successful. That is, a failure happens during the execution of the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0100] Continuing to refer to FIG. 4, the network device 150 (i.e., target SN) may transmit 450 failure information (also referred to as first failure information herein) of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) to the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) . Upon reception of the first failure information, the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) may consider that a failure of a reconfiguration with sync for a MCG happens during the execution of the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In addition, the network device 140 may trigger conditional PSCell change cancel to other candidate SNs by sending a conditional PSCell change cancel message to other candidate SNs.

[0101] In some embodiments, the first failure information may comprise mobility information (also referred to as first mobility information herein) associated with a PCell change to the target PCell (i.e., the cell 141) in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . The first mobility information may also be called as MN mobility information or mobility information. In some embodiments, the mobility information may be a bit string of 32 bits, which indicates information related to the PCell change (i.e., handover) .

[0102] In some embodiments, the first failure information may comprise mobility information (also referred to as second mobility information herein) associated with a PSCell change to the target PSCell (i.e., the cell 151) in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . The  second mobility information may also be called as SN mobility information. In some embodiments, the second mobility information may be a bit string of 32 bits, which indicates information related to the PSCell change or addition.

[0103] In some embodiments, the first failure information may comprise an ID of the target PSCell, i.e., an ID of a target candidate PSCell associated with a target candidate PCell of the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0104] In some embodiments, the first failure information may comprise an ID of the terminal device 110 for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the ID of the terminal device 110 may comprise a cell-radio network temporary identity (C-RNTI) of the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the ID of the terminal device 110 may comprise a MN UE ID such as a M-NG-RAN node UE XnAP ID. In some embodiments, the ID of the terminal device 110 may comprise a SN UE ID such as a S-NG-RAN node UE XnAP ID. It is to be understood that the first failure information may comprise any combination of the above first failure information.

[0105] Continuing to refer to FIG. 4, the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) may transmit 460 another failure information (also referred to as second failure information herein) of the CHO with candidate SCG (s) to the network device 120 (i.e., source MN) . Upon reception of the second failure information, the network device 120 (i.e., source MN) may consider that a failure of a reconfiguration with sync for a MCG happens during the execution of the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In addition, the network device 120 may trigger HO cancel or CHO cancel to other candidate MNs by sending a handover cancel or conditional handover cancel message to other candidate MNs.

[0106] In some embodiments, the second failure information may comprise the first mobility information associated with the PCell change to the target PCell (i.e., the cell 141) in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the second failure information may comprise the second mobility information associated with the PSCell change to the target PSCell (i.e., the cell 151) in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0107] In some embodiments, the second failure information may comprise an ID of the target PCell, i.e., ID of the failed target PCell of the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) .

[0108] In some embodiments, the second failure information may comprise an ID of the terminal device 110 for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the ID of  the terminal device 110 may comprise the C-RNTI of the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the ID of the terminal device 110 may comprise a source UE ID such as a source NG-RAN node UE XnAP ID. In some embodiments, the ID of the terminal device 110 may comprise a target UE ID such as a target NG-RAN node UE XnAP ID. It is to be understood that the second failure information may comprise any combination of the above second failure information.

[0109] With the process 400, upon detection that CHO fails during execution of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) , a target SN may indicate the CHO failure to a target MN. Then the target MN and a source MN may get CHO failure information early.

[0110] It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 4 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. More or less steps may also be feasible. The embodiments described in connection with FIG. 4 may be carried out separately or in any suitable combinations.

[0111] EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF MOBILITY INFORMATION CORRELATION

[0112] In some scenarios, mobility information is transmitted to a target MN to indicate information of a handover procedure. SN mobility information is transmitted to the target MN to indicate information of PSCell change or addition procedure. For a CHO with candidate SCG (s) , a target MN may receive mobility information from a source MN and SN mobility information from a target SN. However, it is still unclear how to use the two information.

[0113] In view of this, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution of correlating the mobility information and the SN mobility information. The solution will be described in connection with FIG. 5 below. FIG. 5 illustrates a schematic diagram illustrating yet another example process 500 of communication according to embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 500 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 500 may involve the network devices 120, 140 and 150. In this example, the network device 120 is a source MN, the network device 130 is a source SN, the network device 140 is a target MN (also referred to as a candidate MN here) , and the network device 150 is a target SN (also referred to as a candidate SN here) . The cell 121 is a source PCell, the cell 131 is a source PSCell, the cell 141 is a target PCell (also referred to as a candidate PCell here) and the cell 151 is a target PSCell (also referred to as a candidate PSCell here) .

[0114] As shown in FIG. 5, for a CHO with candidate SCG (s) , the network device 120 (i.e., source MN) may transmit 510, to the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) , a handover request message comprising mobility information (also referred to as third mobility information herein) of a PCell change from a source PCell to a target PCell in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, a value of the mobility information may be a bit string of 32 bits, which indicates information related to the handover.

[0115] Continuing to refer to FIG. 5, the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) may transmit 520 the third mobility information to the network device 150 (i.e., target SN) . In some embodiments, the network device 140 may transmit a SN addition request message comprising the third mobility information to the network device 150. In some embodiments, upon reception of the third mobility information, the network device 150 may store the third mobility information.

[0116] As shown in FIG. 5, the network device 150 (i.e., target SN) may transmit 530, to the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) , mobility information (also referred to as fourth mobility information or SN mobility information herein) of a PSCell change to the target PSCell in the CHO with candidate SCG (s) . In some embodiments, the network device 150 may transmit a SN addition request acknowledge message comprising the SN mobility information (i.e., the fourth mobility information) to the network device 140. In some embodiments, a value of the SN mobility information may be a bit string of 32 bits, which indicates information related to PSCell change or addition.

[0117] With reference to FIG. 5, upon reception of the fourth mobility information, the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) may correlate 540 the third mobility information with the fourth mobility information, i.e., correlate the mobility information with the SN mobility information.

[0118] Continuing to refer to FIG. 5, the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) may transmit 550 the fourth mobility information to the network device 120 (i.e., source MN) . In some embodiments, the network device 140 may transmit a handover request acknowledge message comprising the SN mobility information. In some embodiments, upon reception of the SN mobility information, the network device 120 may store the SN mobility information.

[0119] As shown in FIG. 5, the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) may determine 560 that a mobility report is received. In some embodiments, the network device 140 may  receive the mobility report associated with the CHO with candidate SCG (s) from a terminal device. In some embodiments, the network device 140 may receive the mobility report from another network device.

[0120] In some embodiments, the mobility report may comprise a SHR. In some embodiments, the mobility report may comprise a successful PSCell change or addition report (SPR) . In some embodiments, the mobility report may comprise a RLF report. In some embodiments, the mobility report may comprise a SCG failure information message.

[0121] With reference to FIG. 5, in some embodiments, the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) may transmit 570 mobility information (also referred to as fifth mobility information herein) to the network device 150 (i.e., target SN) . In some embodiments, the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) may also transmit 580 the fifth mobility information to the network device 120 (i.e., source MN) .

[0122] In some embodiments, the fifth mobility information may comprise the mobility report. In some embodiments, the fifth mobility information may comprise the third mobility information of the PCell change associated with the mobility report, i.e., mobility information. In some embodiments, the fifth mobility information may comprise the fourth mobility information of the PSCell change associated with the mobility report, i.e., SN mobility information.

[0123] In some embodiments, the network device 140 may transmit the fifth mobility information by a SCG failure information report message. In some embodiments, the network device 140 may transmit the fifth mobility information by an access and mobility indication message. In some embodiments, the network device 140 may transmit the fifth mobility information by a failure indication message. It is to be understood that any other suitable messages may also be feasible.

[0127] EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF METHODS

[0128] Accordingly, embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods of communication implemented at a terminal device and a MN. These methods will be described below with reference to FIGs. 6 to 9.

[0129] FIG. 6 illustrates an example method 600 of communication implemented at a terminal device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the method 600 may be performed at the terminal device 110 as shown in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the method 600 may include additional blocks not shown and / or may omit some blocks as shown, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard. It is assumed that the terminal device 110 is served by the network device 120.

[0130] As shown in FIG. 6, at block 610, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a configuration for a CHO with a set of candidate SCGs.

[0131] At block 620, the terminal device 110 may store first information of the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs in a first variable for a RLF report or a second variable for a SHR.

[0132] In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 supports the RLF report for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs, the terminal device 110 may store the first information in the first variable for the RLF report. In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 supports the SHR for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs, the terminal device 110 may store the first information in the second variable for the SHR.

[0133] In some embodiments, the first information may comprise at least one of the following: an ID of a candidate PSCell in a set of candidate PSCells for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs; second information of an execution condition for a set of candidate PCells for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs; third information of an execution condition for the set of candidate PSCells; an ID of a target PSCell associated with a target PCell for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs; an indication that a handover type is the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs; or fourth information of a SCG failure.

[0134] In some embodiments, the second information may comprise at least one of the following: a set of execution conditions associated with a first candidate PCell in the set of candidate PCells; a first execution condition associated with the first candidate PCell that is fulfilled first in time; or a time duration between a first point of time in which the first  execution condition is fulfilled and a second point of time in which a second execution condition associated with the first candidate PCell that is fulfilled second in time.

[0135] In some embodiments, the third information may comprise at least one of the following: a set of execution conditions associated with a first candidate PSCell in the set of candidate PSCells; a third execution condition associated with the first candidate PSCell that is fulfilled first in time; or a time duration between a third point of time in which the third execution condition is fulfilled and a fourth point of time in which a fourth execution condition associated with the first candidate PSCell that is fulfilled second in time.

[0136] In some embodiments, if a first neighboring cell associated with a first measurement result is a candidate PCell in the set of candidate PCells or a candidate PSCell associated with the candidate PCell, the terminal device 110 may store the second information in the first measurement result for the first neighboring cell. In some embodiments, if a second neighboring cell associated with a second measurement result is a candidate PSCell in the set of candidate PCells or a candidate PCell associated with the candidate PSCell, the terminal device 110 may store the third information in the second measurement result for the second neighboring cell.

[0137] In some embodiments, the fourth information may comprise at least one of the following: an indication that a reconfiguration with sync failure happens during execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs; a set of available measurement results associated with a SCG; time information of the SCG failure; or information of a random access procedure in a SCG.

[0138] In some embodiments, if a reconfiguration with sync for a SCG fails during execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs, the terminal device 110 may generate the SHR.

[0139] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, an indication that the terminal device generates the SHR upon failure of the reconfiguration with sync for the SCG during the execution of the conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs. Based on reception of the indication, the terminal device 110 may generate the SHR when a reconfiguration with sync for a SCG fails during execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs.

[0140] With the method 600, a terminal device may report information of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) to a NW) via a RLF report or SHR, and the NW may adjust and optimize  a configuration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) based on the reported information.

[0141] FIG. 7 illustrates another example method 700 of communication implemented at a terminal device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the method 700 may be performed at the terminal device 110 as shown in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the method 700 may include additional blocks not shown and / or may omit some blocks as shown, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard. It is assumed that the terminal device 110 is served by the network device 120.

[0142] As shown in FIG. 7, at block 710, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a configuration for a CHO with a set of candidate SCGs.

[0143] At block 720, the terminal device 110 may determine that a SCG failure happens.

[0144] At block 730, the terminal device 110 may transmit, to the network device 120, fifth information of the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs in a SCG failure information message.

[0145] In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 supports a transmission of SCG failure information for MRO for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs, the terminal device 110 may transmit the fifth information.

[0146] In some embodiments, the fifth information may comprise at least one of the following: sixth information of an execution condition for a set of candidate PCells for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs; an ID of a target PCell associated with a target PSCell for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs; an indication that a reconfiguration with sync failure happens during execution of a conditional reconfiguration for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs; or a time duration between a successful completion of a reconfiguration with sync for a MCG and a failure of a reconfiguration with sync for a SCG.

[0147] In some embodiments, the sixth information may comprise at least one of the following: a set of execution conditions associated with a second candidate PCell in the set of candidate PCells; a fifth execution condition associated with the second candidate PCell that is fulfilled first in time; or a time duration between a fifth point of time in which the fifth execution condition is fulfilled and a sixth point of time in which a sixth execution condition associated with the second candidate PCell that is fulfilled second in time.

[0148] With the method 700, a terminal device may report information of a CHO with candidate SCG (s) to a NW) via a SCG failure information message, and the NW may adjust and optimize a configuration for the CHO with candidate SCG (s) based on the reported  information.

[0149] FIG. 8 illustrates an example method 800 of communication implemented at a MN in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the method 800 may be performed at any of network devices serving as a target MN as shown in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the method 800 may include additional blocks not shown and / or may omit some blocks as shown, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard. It is assumed that a PCell of the terminal device 110 is changed from the cell 121 to the cell 141, and a PSCell of the terminal device 110 is changed from the cell 131 to the cell 151. In this case, the network device 120 providing a source PCell is a source MN, the network device 140 providing a target PCell is a target MN, the network device 130 providing a source PSCell is a source SN, and the network device 150 providing a target PSCell is a target SN.

[0156] FIG. 9 illustrates another example method 900 of communication implemented at a MN in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the method 900 may be performed at any of network devices serving as a target MN as shown in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the method 900 may include additional blocks not shown and / or may omit some blocks as shown, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0157] As shown in FIG. 9, at block 910, the network device 140 (i.e., target MN) may receive, from the network device 120 (i.e., a further MN providing a source PCell for a CHO with a set of candidate SCGs) , third mobility information of a PCell change from a source PCell to a target PCell in the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs.

[0158] at block 920, the network device 140 may transmit the third mobility information to the network device 150 (i.e., a SN providing a target PSCell for the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs) .

[0159] In some embodiments, the network device 140 may receive, from the network device 150, fourth mobility information of a PSCell change to the target PSCell in the CHO with the set of candidate SCGs. In some embodiments, the network device 140 may correlate the third mobility information with the fourth mobility information. In some embodiments, the network device 140 may transmit the fourth mobility information to the network device 120. In some embodiments, if a mobility report is received, the network device 140 may transmit fifth mobility information to the network device 150 or the network device 120.
