Abstract
Description
[0001] Postoperative pants
[0002] The invention relates to postoperative trousers, in particular postoperative underpants for men, with a fold-out front part.
[0003] After surgery in the genital area or on a man's genitals, postoperative care is crucial for the healing process and success.
[0004] Postoperative care includes not only regular postoperative treatment and follow-up care by a physician, but also simply opening the pants to empty the bladder through the genital area. Repeatedly putting on and taking off underwear not only impairs the healing process, but in the case of catheters and catheter tubes in the genital area, it can lead to complications and pain when putting on and taking off underwear.
[0005] In hospitals, mesh underpants are often used for patients after surgery. These underpants are functionally very basic, offer little support, and are usually not washable and therefore not recyclable.
[0006] EP 3 155 912 A1 discloses underpants with a fly that are suitable for people with physical disabilities. These underpants have a flap with a grip strip that is arranged centrally on the underpants. The flap is detachably attached to the waistband of the trousers using Velcro strips. However, these underpants have the disadvantage that when the trousers are opened, the handle attached to the waistband exerts a pull on a front, central area of the waistband. This can not only cause the trousers to slip but can also cause chafing on the wearer's skin along the waistband. In addition, the underpants must always be opened for any catheter use. A removable men's briefs that can be easily removed while wearing outer clothing is known from US 5,535,452.The briefs consist of an elastic waistband with a front opening that can be closed with hook and eye fasteners; a stirrup section that surrounds the torso between the waistband and the leg opening; and a crotch stirrup between the leg openings; a front panel consisting of two layers of fabric that is permanently attached to one end of the crotch and removably fastened along the slanted side edges by slide fasteners.
[0007] SE 508 302 C2 discloses a trouser garment comprising a garment enclosing the wearer's pelvis, having a waist opening and at least one leg opening. A dividing line runs between the waist opening and the leg openings to separate one of the two side panels from a front or back panel. A hook-and-loop fastener strip attached to an inner edge of the front panel is attached at one end to a special felt strip on the outside of the edge section of the side panel overlapped by the front panel. The other end of the strip allows the front panel to be detached from the side panel.
[0008] The invention is therefore based on the object of providing postoperative trousers which avoid the disadvantages mentioned above.
[0009] It is a further object of the invention to provide postoperative pants which allow easy postoperative care or treatment of the wearer without removing the pants and which greatly reduces, if not completely prevents, any chafing.
[0010] It is a further object of the invention to provide postoperative pants which allow easy opening of the pants for emptying the bladder through the genital area of the wearer, especially in the presence of catheters and catheter tubes in the genital area of the wearer.
[0011] It is also an object of the invention to provide postoperative pants which are washable and thus reusable. This is achieved according to the invention with post-operative trousers comprising a waistband, a crotch area, a right side part, a left side part and an opening for post-operative treatment of the wearer, wherein the opening is located on a front side of the post-operative trousers and wherein the opening extends from the waistband into the crotch area and wherein the right side part and the left side part are arranged below the waistband and wherein the right side part and the left side part are each double-layered, wherein the trousers further have a fold-out front part for covering the opening, and wherein the fold-out front part is firmly connected to the trousers only in the crotch area, and is characterized in that the trousers have a right fastener for detachably connecting the fold-out front part to the right side part and a left fastener for detachably connecting the fold-out front part to the left side part.
[0012] For the purposes of this application, band-shaped or band means the elongated but limited-width form of a fabric or material.
[0013] Continuous in the sense of this application means that the fabric or material is uninterrupted, i.e., it is in one piece, but also that the fabric or material consists of two or more pieces that are firmly connected to one another, i.e., it is in multiple pieces.
[0014] The postoperative pants according to the invention have numerous advantages.
[0015] The waistband of the pants according to the invention is neither moved nor affected by opening the pants nor by wearing them, and therefore always fits snugly against the wearer's body. This advantageously prevents the pants from slipping, and any chafing is greatly reduced, if not completely eliminated.
[0016] Instead, any tensile forces when opening or wearing the postoperative pants according to the invention act only on the left and right side panels of the pants. Thus, the tensile forces are distributed across the side panels located on the sides of the pants, but not on the waistband. The side panels are therefore also double-layered, preferably triple-layered, to reinforce them, absorb any tensile forces on the pants, and relieve pressure on the waistband.
[0017] The postoperative pants according to the invention have two fasteners, a left and a right fastener. This has the advantage over a single fastener in that each fastener can be opened individually. Opening it individually not only requires less pulling force, but also allows for partial opening of the foldable front section. In many cases, a partial opening is perfectly sufficient for the wearer's postoperative care.
[0018] Another advantage of the invention is that the pants can be easily opened to empty the bladder through the genitals. The hinged front panel allows for easy opening of the pants, and the front panel doesn't need to be held in place, as it is firmly attached to the pants in the crotch area.
[0019] Preferably, the foldable front panel and the opening for post-operative treatment of the wearer are each located centrally on the front of the pants. Since surgical procedures are usually performed on or around the genitals, which are located in the center of the body, a centrally located opening for post-operative treatment on the front has proven advantageous. The opening for post-operative treatment extends lengthwise from the waistband to the crotch area. In terms of width, the opening for post-operative treatment usually extends across the entire genital area of the wearer. It is preferred that the foldable front panel be made of one piece.
[0020] Each closure preferably has two mutually associated closure parts. Preferably, the right closure has a first closure part and a second closure part, and the left closure has a first closure part and a second closure part, wherein the first closure part and the second closure part of the right closure are associated with each other, and the first closure part and the second closure part of the left closure are associated with each other.
[0021] Preferably, the first closure part of the right closure and the first closure part of the left closure are arranged on the hinged front part, and the second closure part of the right closure is arranged on the right side part, and the second closure part of the left closure is arranged on the left side part. It is preferred that the first closure part of the right closure and the first closure part of the left closure are arranged on an inner side of the hinged front part facing the wearer's body.
[0022] In this embodiment, it is preferred that the second fastening part of the right fastener be arranged only on the right side part, and the second fastening part of the left fastener be arranged only on the left side part. In other words, the second fastening part of the right fastener and the second fastening part of the left fastener are not arranged on the waistband, but exclusively on the right side part and the left side part, respectively. This arrangement advantageously ensures that the waistband is free from any tensile forces, in particular from tensile forces when opening and unfolding the fold-out front part, and the trousers therefore cannot slip when opened.
[0023] The foldable front part can basically take any shape as long as it covers the opening for post-operative treatment. Preferably, the foldable front part is shaped such that the foldable front part has a right extension surface and a left extension surface, wherein the right extension surface lies on at least part of the right side part and the left extension surface lies on at least part of the left side part. The right extension surface and the left extension surface are therefore located in an upper region of the foldable front part near the waistband and are preferably designed symmetrically to one another. In further preferred embodiments, the right extension surface and the left extension surface each also lie on at least part of the waistband.
[0024] Preferably, the first closure part of the right closure is arranged on the right extension surface of the front part, and the first closure part of the left closure is arranged on the left extension surface of the front part. It is preferred that the first closure part of the right closure is arranged on an inner side of the right extension surface of the front part facing the wearer's body, and the first closure part of the left closure is arranged on an inner side of the left extension surface of the front part facing the wearer's body.
[0025] Preferably, the second closure part of the right closure is arranged on the right side part and on the waistband, and the second closure part of the left closure is arranged on the left side part and the waistband. In other words, the second closure part of the right closure or the left closure is arranged not only on the respective side part, but also on a section of the waistband.
[0026] Preferably, the right and left fasteners are each designed as adjustable fasteners; more preferably, the right and left fasteners are each designed as continuously adjustable fasteners. Preferably, the adjustable fastener is a hook-and-eye fastener. Preferably, the continuously adjustable fastener is a hook-and-loop fastener.
[0027] Preferably, the right fastener and the left fastener are each designed as a hook-and-loop fastener, a snap fastener, or a hook-and-eye fastener, more preferably as a hook-and-loop fastener or a hook-and-eye fastener, and most preferably as a hook-and-loop fastener. Preferably, the adjustable fastener is designed as a hook-and-loop fastener, a snap fastener, or a hook-and-eye fastener, more preferably as a hook-and-loop fastener or a hook-and-eye fastener, most preferably as a hook-and-loop fastener.
[0028] The hook and eye tape fastener preferably has two or three rows of hooks and eyes, more preferably three rows of hooks and eyes.
[0029] The pants according to the invention can be made from any textile material or combination of textile materials, as long as the textile material is also washable, especially in a washing machine. The textile material can be cotton, for example, but can also contain portions of, for example, elastane, polyamide, and / or nylon. Preferably, the waistband comprises an elastic material; more preferably, the waistband is made of an elastic material. The elastic material ensures that the pants cannot slip on the wearer's body when worn. The elastic material includes, for example, elastane.
[0030] Preferably, the right side panel and the left side panel are formed as a single, one-piece side panel, which extends partially circumferentially from the back of the postoperative pants on both sides to the opening on the front of the postoperative pants. Such a single, one-piece side panel increases the stability of the side panels and advantageously diverts any tensile forces that may occur toward the back of the pants.
[0031] The postoperative pants preferably have at least one opening for drainage tubes, preferably two openings for drainage tubes. This advantageously allows one or more drainage tubes to be inserted or removed from the pants without having to remove the pants or open the fold-out front panel.
[0032] Preferably, the at least one opening for drainage tubes is arranged on the left side panel and / or on the right side panel; preferably, two openings for drainage tubes are arranged on the right side panel and / or on the left side panel. It is preferred that the one or two openings for drainage tubes are located near the right groin area and / or near the left groin area.
[0033] Preferably, the postoperative trousers further comprise two legs. It is preferred that the legs are firmly connected to the respective side panels.
[0034] Preferably, the postoperative pants further comprise one or two handles. The handle(s) are preferably arranged on an outer side of the foldable front part, more preferably on an outer side of the right extension area and / or the left extension area of the front part. The handles are preferably designed as tabs.
[0035] Preferably, the postoperative pants are underpants.
[0036] Preferably, the postoperative pants are made by circular knitting or by sewing; more preferably, the postoperative pants are made by circular knitting. Circular knitting and circular knitting machines are known in the art.
[0037] Further details, features and advantages of the subject matter of the invention emerge from the following description of the associated figures, in which preferred embodiments of the invention are shown by way of example.
[0038] Figure 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the postoperative pants according to the invention with the front part folded out, and
[0039] Figure 2 is a perspective view of the embodiment of Figure 1 with a detachably connected front part.
[0040] In an exemplary embodiment of the invention, Figures 1 and 2 show post-operative trousers (1) comprising a waistband (7), a crotch region (6), a right side part (9a), a left side part (9b), and an opening (5) for post-operative treatment of the wearer. The opening (5) is located on a front side (2) of the trousers (1), and the opening (5) extends from the waistband (7) into the crotch region (6). The right side part (9a) and the left side part (9b) are each double-layered. They are arranged directly beneath the waistband (7) and are firmly connected thereto. The trousers (1) further comprise a fold-out front part (4) for covering the opening (5). The fold-out front part (4) is firmly connected to the trousers (1) along a crotch seam (6a) only in the crotch region (6), as can be seen in particular from Figure 1.
[0041] The trousers (1) also have a right fastener (13) for detachably connecting the foldable front part (4) to the right side part (9a) and a left fastener (14) for detachably connecting the foldable front part (4) to the left side part (9b).
[0042] The trousers (1) further comprise a right trouser leg (11a) and a left trouser leg (11b). The right side part (9a) and the left side part (9b) are each arranged between the waistband (7) and the right trouser leg (11a) and the left trouser leg (11b), respectively, and are firmly connected to one another by means of seams.
[0043] In this example, the right side part (9a) and the left side part (9b) are designed as a one-piece, double-layered, band-shaped side part (9a, 9b), which runs partially circumferentially from a back side (3) of the trousers (1) on both sides to the opening (5) on the front side (2). The lower edges of the right side part (9a) and the left side part (9b) each run in an arc, starting from the crotch area (6), over the respective right groin area (10a) or left groin area (10b) of the trousers (1). The right groin area (10a) and left groin area (10b) refer to the area of the trousers (1) which, when the trousers (1) are worn, lies on the right groin area or left groin area of the wearer.
[0044] The hinged front part (4) is shaped such that the hinged front part (4) has a right extension surface (4a) and a left extension surface (4b), wherein the right extension surface (4a) lies on at least part of the right side part (9a) and the left extension surface (4b) lies on at least part of the left side part (9b). The right extension surface (4a) and a left extension surface (4b) are part of the hinged front part (4), which is formed in one piece.
[0045] The first closure part (13a) of the right closure (13) is arranged on the inner side of the right extension surface (4a) of the front part (2) facing the wearer's body, and the first closure part (14a) of the left closure (14) is arranged on the inner side of the left extension surface (4b) of the front part (2) facing the wearer's body. The second closure part (13b) of the right closure (13) is arranged on the right side part (9a), and the second closure part (14b) of the left closure (14) is arranged on the left side part (9b).
[0046] In this example, the first closure part (13a) of the right closure (13) and the first closure part (14a) of the left closure (14) are each designed as a loop fastener of a hook-and-loop fastener. In contrast, the second closure part (13b) of the right closure (13) and the second closure part (14b) of the left closure (14) are each designed as a hook-and-loop fastener. This design allows the fold-out front part (4) to be seamlessly attached to the two side parts (9a, 9b). List of reference symbols:
