Abstract
Description
[0001] NEWBORN URINE GATHERING AND COLLECTION BAG
[0002] Technical field of the invention
[0003] The invention relates to a neonatal urine collection bag designed to take urine samples from female newborns and infants.
[0004] State of the Art
[0005] It is very difficult to take a urine sample in newborns (0-28 days) and infants of female gender. The female baby urine sample collection device used in clinical areas cannot fulfil its function. The use of these urine collection bags creates difficulties for both mothers and healthcare professionals. Urine sample collection bags, which are the product of the same production of various brands, are used to collect the desired urine sample in newborns and babies of female gender. However, these products cannot provide sufficient adhesion to the baby's mons pubis, labia majora and perineum. The same product with different brands may be left in clinics for a long time or used with a diaper, causing the adhesives to fail to hold and slip. This slipping situation is far from the desired sterility in terms of hygiene, and problems such as leaks of the urine to be collected into the external environment may occur before it can be put into the bag.
[0006] In urine collection bags, the urine collection bag stuck to the skin inside the diaper irritates the skin and at the same time, the bag becomes contaminated when the baby defecates. Although the bags used for male babies in clinics are functional, these bags used for female babies cannot be used fully, so the mother and healthcare staff tie a clean plastic bag under the baby and the urine accumulated in the bag is drawn with a syringe and the urine is transferred to the sample container. At the same time, it is inevitable for the baby's skin to be irritated and then to develop acidic urine and diaper rash. On the other hand, the efforts of the mother and healthcare personnel to take a urine sample may take hours or even days. Failure to collect urine samples in the expected time and various leakage problems both disrupt the treatment process and cause difficulties in the urine collection process.
[0007] Although various suggestions and applications have been developed regarding the newborn urine collection bags in the state of the art, these developments are not sufficient. Some applications for inventions developed for this purpose are given below.
[0008] Patent document no “CN216823503U” in the state of the art is reviewed. The invention that is the subject of the application relates to a bag for collecting female baby urine samples. The aim here is to effectively collect the urine from a newborn female baby and to provide a female baby urine sample collection bag with a simple structure. Female baby urine sample collection bag consisting of a urine collection bag body is divided into the urine gathering part, pressing part and collection part respectively from top to bottom, and the urine gathering part and the pressing part are separated by a self-sealing strip, and the pressing part and the collection part are separated by a dividing strip. A large number of holes through which the liquid passes are opened equally in the dividing strip, allowing the liquid to pass through the pressing part, the collection part and the passage hole. There is an absorbent cotton pad in the urine gathering part. A urine inlet is opened in the front part of the urine gathering part, the urine inlet reaches the absorbent cotton and an adhesive layer forms around the urine inlet. There is a protective film layer in the urine gathering part that can cover the urine inlet and adhesive layer, and a urine outlet at the lower end of the collecting part. There is also a connection piece at the upper end of the urine gathering part and a hanging hole in the connection part. While it is similar to the standard glued plastic urine collection bag, the only difference is that the bottom end of the bag is longer and there is a part that shows the urine level. It does not contain a structure consisting of layers in a complex structure.
[0009] Patent document no “CN209172361 II” in the state of the art is reviewed. The utility model discloses a urine retention bag for a female baby. A urine collection hole is formed in the front side of the urine bag and the outer surface of the front side of the urine bag is pasted with a pasting layer around the urine collecting hole. The inner edge of the lower end of the urine collecting hole is integrally connected with a protruding part which protrudes outwards and is correspondingly located at the perineum position of a baby. The outer surface of the protruding part is a sticky surface, and the front inner part of the wall of the bladder is inside the urine collection hole. An absorbent cotton layer is applied around it. There is an absorbent cotton surface on the edges to prevent the urine coming from the urethra from flowing out of the bag while passing through the labia majora. After the urine is collected, there is also a rod to narrow the existing opening by pulling the urine collection area, that is, the area attached to the labia majora, and removing it from the baby. It has deficiencies and risks in terms of skin irritation and the possibility of hand contamination due to its ability to stick to the diaper.
[0010] Patent document no “CN214907339U” in the state of the art is reviewed. The invention that is the subject to the application includes descriptions of a collection bag for female baby urine samples. It comprises a urine collection bag and a urine collection port on the urine collection bag. The urine collection port is placed in a circle of anti-pollution cotton around the urinary opening, considering the outline of the girl's urethral opening, the surface of the anti-pollution cotton is equipped with an adhesive layer, and the adhesive layer is equipped with a sealing label. In addition, the sampling part is located at the lower end of the urine collection bag, the sampling bag is provided with a liquid absorbent cotton, and the liquid absorbent cotton extends from the urine collection bag. The sampling bag is connected to the urine collection bag. The annular anti-fouling cotton in the urine bag is fixedly attached, and there is a sampling port at the lower end of the sampling bag. There is a scale line on the sampling bag. In addition, a valve is added to the sampling port, and the anti-fouling cotton and liquid absorbent cotton are both composed of medical absorbent cotton. There is a urine outlet opening in the urine collection bag and there is a stopper in the urine outlet opening. Here, the feature of taking a urine sample with the additional plastic area at the end is included, while using it continuously for female babies who lie down for a long time. It is also used by sticking it to the urethral area.
[0011] In the state of the art, urine collection bags for girls, newborns or babies are used for urine collection, and urine collection bags with different collection chamber structures and glued urine collection bags are used in a way that poses the risk of contamination. These techniques may cause problems with hygiene and other irritations on newborns and babies.
[0012] As a result, due to the negativities described above and the inadequacy of existing solutions on the subject, it has become necessary to make a development in the relevant technical field.
[0013] The aim of the invention
[0014] The most important aim of the invention is to collect urine in a sterile manner by using pads in the baby's diaper or underwear while collecting urine in newborn female babies, preventing skin irritation and increasing the comfort area of the newborn.
[0015] Another aim of the invention is to collect the urine filled into the urine collection area in a transparent and plastic structure and to eliminate the risk of manual contamination while transferring the urine sample from this part to the collection container by means of having no need to make any contact with the pad-shaped urine collection bag when the urine collection bag is separated from the body.
[0016] Another aim of the invention is to eliminate the risk of contamination that may occur due to the mixing of different bodily wastes accumulated in the urine collection bag by means of the different layers in the pad part of the urine collection bag.
[0017] Another aim of the invention is to reduce the odour of the urine accumulated in the urine collection part with the negative ion strip located in the negative ion layer.
[0018] Another aim of the invention is to prevent the vulva area of the newborn baby from sweating and developing diaper rash by using pads.
[0019] Another aim of the invention is to easily transfer the collected urine to the urine container by means of the pull strings on both sides of the urine collection bag, during the emptying phase after the urine collection bag is full.
[0020] The structural and characteristic features of the invention and all its advantages will be understood more clearly by the figures given below and the detailed description written with reference to these figures. For this reason, the evaluation should be made by taking these figures and detailed description into consideration.

[0031] Description of the Invention
[0032] The invention relates to a neonatal urine collection bag designed to collect urine samples from female newborns and infants.
[0033] The urine collection bag (1) comprises the bottom surface that adheres to the diaper (2), the layered pad part (3), the plastic transparent cover (4), the drawstrings (5), the urine discharge part (6) and the pressing part (7).
[0034] There is a bottom surface (2) at the bottom of the urine collection bag (1), which is used to collect urine samples in female newborns and babies, and which can stick to the baby's diaper or underwear, thus eliminating the risks of urine leaking out. The bottom surface adhering to diaper (2) is the layer made of vegetable resin and comprises a natural adhesive strip that adheres to the diaper. The bottom surface adhering to diaper (2) is adhered to the baby diaper or cotton underwear in a way that completely covers these surfaces and ensures that the urine collection bag (1 ) is completely fixed and does not move. By means of this part, the urine collection bag (1 ) performs its function by being positioned stably during the process of collecting the urine sample of a female newborn or infant.
[0035] The urine collection bag (1 ) has a layered pad part (3) consisting of seven layers created for separate purposes such as providing a cottony texture and preventing leaks, odour and contamination possibilities. In the layered pad part (3), there are different layers which are the layer that provides an ultra-smooth surface and natural and cottony texture; the layer comprising the negative ion strip in the negative ion layer which ensures that the urine odour is minimised; special protection layer that prevents leakage and allows air passage; natural absorbent layer made of cellulose (wood pulp), which absorbs urine and prevents it from accumulating on the surface; the layer where the urine accumulates; and the air-permeable layer, which comprises the barrier that allows clean air flow while trapping the smell of urine.
[0036] There is a plastic transparent cover (4) that covers the entire urine collection bag (1 ). Here, while the urine collection bag (1 ) is removed from the newborn female baby, the urine inside is accumulated in the single-layer transparent plastic cover (4) on the pad, instead of splashing onto the hand during the pulling force created by pulling the drawstrings (5). By reducing manual contamination to zero, the transparent plastic cover (4) covers the entire pad at the end of the process, and by pulling the two drawstrings (5) on both sides and shrinking the entire pad, the urine is poured into the urine sample collection container.
[0037] The part that allows the urine collected in the urine collection bag (1 ) to be transferred to the urine collection container is the urine discharge part (6). Pressing the urine collection bag (1 ) as a result of the tightening of the drawstrings (5) and the indirect discharge of the urine collected in the transparent plastic case (4) without manual contact as a result of this pressing is provided by the urine discharge part (6).
[0038] During the discharge of urine by pulling the drawstrings (5), these drawstrings (5) are pulled up to the pressing part (7). By means of the drawstrings (5) pulled up to the pressing part (7), the urine collected in the transparent plastic cover (4) in the urine collection bag (1 ) is transferred from the urine discharge part (6) to the urine sample collection container.
