Abstract
Description
[0001] WOUND CARE DISPENSER SYSTEM
[0002] Field
[0003] The technology pertains to the field of medical devices, specifically those designed for wound care management, such as dispensers and applicators for wound dressing. It is particularly relevant to emergency medical equipment used in tactical environments such as military operations, search and rescue missions, pre-hospital and other high- stress situations requiring rapid and efficient wound treatment.
[0004] The field of emergency medical care, particularly in tactical or combat situations, has long relied on traditional bandages and wound care materials. These materials, while effective in many cases, present several challenges and limitations.
[0005] One of the primary issues is the bulkiness of traditional bandages. These bandages often require significant space in medical kits, bags, or pockets, making them cumbersome to carry and potentially hindering efficient packing. This bulkiness also extends to the supply chain, where the transport and storage of large quantities of bandages can be logistically challenging.
[0006] Additionally, traditional bandages can be difficult to apply correctly, particularly in high- stress situations or when the user is wearing gloves or has limited dexterity.
[0007] Opening the packaging of traditional bandages can also be a challenge. Many bandages are vacuum-packed for sterility, and opening these packages can be difficult and time-consuming, particularly in emergency situations.
[0008] Furthermore, traditional bandages are prone to contamination from the environment. They can absorb moisture, mud, and dirt, which can increase the risk of infection when applied to a wound. In summary, the prior art in the field of emergency wound care presents several challenges, including bulkiness, difficulty of use, risk of contamination, and other issues related to wound packing materials. These challenges highlight the need for improved solutions in this field.

The wound care material 16 may be an absorption gauze, which packs the wound cavity, absorbs blood, promotes clotting, and is readily deployable from the applicator for rapid application. The absorption gauze may be woven or non-woven. Other examples of wound care material 16 include fixation bandages (such as adhesive bandages or plastic film), hemostatic dressings (which primarily serve an absorption function), pressure bandages (such as Israeli bandages or emergency bandages, which may be used for absorption or fixation functions), compression bandages, and elastic bandages (which primarily provide fixation and support). Plastic film serves as a fixation bandage that seals and protects the wound from external contaminants, enabling a lightweight and compact solution for wound sealing, a barrier against environmental contaminants, and a flexible and conformable seal that adapts to various wound shapes and locations. Elastic bandages provide compression and support to injured areas while helping to secure absorption materials in place.
[0090] 1.1.1 .4. Holding Assembly Engagement Element

The detachable nature of the cap 3 allows for refilling or replacement of the wound care material 16 within the housing chamber 1 . The cap 3 may include a lug 33.
[0095] 1.1.1.5.1. Lug
[0096] The cap 3 may include a lug 33. The lug 33 may be configured to removably attach the cap 3 to the housing chamber 1 . The lug 33 may be configured to engage with the wound care material 16, for example by extending into a central opening of a wound care material 16 roll, to provide support and / or facilitate rotation of the wound care material 16 during dispensing. The lug 33 may be configured to serve multiple functions simultaneously. In some instances, the lug 33 is configured to allow rotational movement of the wound care material 16 and secure it within the housing chamber 1 . The lug 33 may be inwardly extended from the cap 3. In some instances, the lug 33 may be operably connected to the ejection mechanism 30 to facilitate the rotational movement and advancement of the wound care material 16 through the ejection slit 2.
[0097] 1.1.2. Holding Assembly
[0098] The dispenser system 100 includes a holding assembly 20. The holding assembly 20 allows for attachment of the dispenser 10 to an external surface, ensuring quick access when needed. It removably attaches the dispenser 10 to an external surface and organizes the dispenser 10 on the external surface. This removable attachment provides great versatility: it enables the user to treat wounds with both hands free when the dispenser 10 remains attached, or alternatively, allows the user to detach the dispenser 10 for hand-held operation when more precise control is needed. The removable nature of the attachment also permits users to interchange different dispensers containing various wound care materials based on specific treatment needs or to replace depleted dispensers with fresh ones. This flexibility accommodates diverse tactical and emergency scenarios, allowing the caregiver to adapt their approach depending on the nature of the wound, environmental conditions, and available assistance.
[0099] The holding assembly 20 may be attached to external surface such as combat vests, belts, bags, or body armor. It may be removably attached to the external surface, such as through a surface engagement element. Alternatively, the holding assembly 20 may be permanently attached to the external surface, for example, it may be glued or sewn to the external surface. Surface engagement element secures the holding assembly 20 to various types of external surfaces, including vests, body armor, belts, pouches, and bags. It ensures that the dispenser 10 is readily accessible in a variety of tactical situations and contributes to the rapid access and deployment capabilities of the dispenser 10. The design and type of surface engagement element may vary to accommodate different types of external surfaces and to provide secure attachment in demanding conditions.
[0100] The holding assembly 20 may be configured to engage with the dispenser 10 in various positions and orientations. In some embodiments, the holding assembly 20 may wrap circumferentially around the dispenser 10 body, such as when elastic cords are used. In other embodiments, the holding assembly 20 may engage with only portions of the dispenser 10 body, such as when clip-type structures are employed. Alternatively, the holding assembly 20 may engage with specific features of the dispenser 10, such as recesses, grooves, or protrusions designed for secure attachment. The holding assembly 20 may block the ejection slit 2 when engaged with the dispenser 10. For example, the holding assembly 20 and the dispenser 10 may be configured such that the dispenser 10 is rotatable relative to the holding assembly 20 between a first position in which the ejection slit 2 is blocked and a second position in which the ejection slit 2 is accessible. The holding assembly 20 may be configured to automatically block the ejection slit 2 when engaged with the dispenser 10. It may comprise a blocking member positioned to align with the ejection slit 2 when the dispenser 10 is engaged with the holding assembly 20. This blocking member may be the dispenser engagement element 21 , or it may be a protrusion extending inwardly from the holding assembly 20. In some instances, the blocking member may form a moisture-resistant seal around the ejection slit 2.
[0101] The holding assembly 20 is configured to removably attach the dispenser 10 to an external surface. It may be made of plastic, textile, metal, or waxed cardboard / paper, or it may include different materials. The holding assembly 20 may be designed to accommodate both cylindrical and square applicators, allowing multiple applicators to fit on the holding assembly 20. It may be an elastic cord, a clip, a holder or a holster, or a hook-and-loop fastener. For example, it may be a flexible member such as an elastic cord, strap, bungee cord, or rubber band; hook-and-loop fasteners such as Velcro straps; buckles; snap fasteners; magnetic elements; or adhesive elements. It may comprise at least one deformable arm, such as two deformable arms, arranged to engage the dispenser 10. The holding assembly 20 may hold multiple dispensers 10 or just one. The holding assembly 20 includes a dispenser engagement element 21. The holding assembly 20 may include a surface engagement element. In some instances, the holding assembly 20 may include a retention mechanism, and a release mechanism. The retention mechanism keeps the dispenser 10 securely in place until needed, and the release mechanism allows for rapid detachment of the dispenser 10 when needed. The specific design of the retention mechanism and release mechanism may vary depending on the design of the holding assembly 20 and the type of applicator being used.
[0102] 1 .1 .2.1 . Dispenser Engagement Element
[0103] The holding assembly 20 includes a dispenser engagement element 21 . The dispenser engagement element 21 secures a dispenser 10 to a holding assembly 20 and is configured to detachably engage with the dispenser 10. Examples of dispenser engagement element 21 include flexible members, such as an elastic cord, an elastic strap, a bungee cord, or a rubber band; hook-and-loop fasteners, such as velcro straps; buckles, such as adjustable buckles and quick-release buckles; snap fasteners, such as press snaps and spring snaps; magnetic elements, such as magnets and magnetic strips; or adhesive elements, such as adhesive pads and adhesive strips. In some instances, the dispenser engagement element 21 may comprises at least one deformable arm, such as two deformable arms, arranged to engage the dispenser 10. The dispenser engagement element 21 may be tensioned to securely hold the dispenser 10 in place. The dispenser engagement element 21 may be configured to interact with the dispenser 10 at various locations and orientations. The dispenser engagement element 21 may engage with the dispenser 10 at least partially at the first end portion and at least partially at the second end portion of the dispenser 10, and / or at various positions along the lateral surfaces of the dispenser 10. The dispenser engagement element 21 may be positioned to wrap circumferentially around the dispenser 10. The dispenser engagement element 21 may provide additional functional benefits beyond simply securing the dispenser 10, such as maintaining component integrity. For example, the dispenser engagement element 21 may comprise elastic cords or similar flexible members that engage with channels positioned at the cap 3 and at the bottom end portion of the housing chamber 1 . These cords may wrap circumferentially around the dispenser 10 to securely hold the dispenser 10 in place and may apply tension that helps maintain the cap 3 in its sealed position on the housing chamber 1 . This multi-functionality may be especially valuable in tactical scenarios where equipment may be subjected to vigorous movement, impact, or challenging environmental conditions. The dispenser engagement element 21 may engage with the dispenser 10 through the holding assembly engagement element 11. For example, the dispenser engagement element 21 and the holding assembly engagement element 11 may engage through a tab and a slot, a pin and a groove, or a protrusion and a recess, or any other complementary engagement mechanisms that provide removable connection functionality as would be appreciated by a person skilled in the art.
[0104] The holding assembly 20 itself may be the dispenser engagement element 21. The dispenser engagement element 21 may be elastic cords, such as bungee cords or rubber bands. When engaged with the dispenser 10, the dispenser engagement element 21 may partially cover the ejection slit 2, may not block the ejection slit 2, may have an opening aligned with the ejection slit 2, or may redirect the ejection slit 2.
[0105] In some instances, the holding assembly 20 may itself serve as a dispenser engagement element 21 . For example, the holding assembly 20 may be one or more flexible members, positioned to wrap circumferentially around the dispenser 10. In some instances, the dispenser engagement element 21 may also function as a surface engagement element, providing dual functionality within the holding assembly 20. For example, when the holding assembly 20 comprises elastic cords, the same cords that engage with the dispenser 10 may extend beyond the dispenser 10 to attach to an external surface, such as clothing, equipment, or gear. This dual-purpose configuration minimizes components while maximizing functionality, allowing for secure attachment of the dispenser 10 to various surfaces without requiring additional attachment mechanisms. The integrated approach provides a streamlined solution that maintains accessibility of the wound care material 16 while ensuring the dispenser 10 remains securely attached during tactical operations or emergency situations.
[0106] 1.1.2.2. Surface Engagement Element
[0107] The holding assembly 20 may include a surface engagement element. The surface engagement element may be positioned on an exterior surface of the holding assembly 20 and is configured to attach to the external surface, securing the assembly to a surface. The surface engagement element may be removably or permanently attached to the external surface. Examples of a surface engagement element include flexible members such as elastic cords, straps, bungy cords, or rubber bands; hook-and-loop fasteners such as Velcro straps; buckles; snap fasteners; magnetic elements; adhesive elements; clips; clamps; mechanical interlocking elements; friction-grip surfaces; and suction elements.
[0108] In some instances, the surface engagement element also functions as a dispenser engagement element 21 and vice versa.
[0109] 1 .2. External Surface
[0110] The external surface serves as an attachment point. The external surface may be part of tactical gear such as military vests, load-bearing equipment (LBE), individual first aid kits (IFAKs), emergency medical technician (EMT) bags, trauma kits, search and rescue vests, first aid pouches, medical backpacks, utility belts or duty belts, and body armor. Other examples of gear that may include the external surface are medical pouches, plate carriers, chest rigs, law enforcement duty belts, and survival kits.
[0111] 2. Method Details
[0112] This section details the methods of using the dispenser system 100, including dispenser 10 engagement, deployment of wound care material 16, use of the hybrid dispenser, and the one-handed application process. These methods are designed to address the challenges of traditional wound care in emergency and tactical situations, providing rapid and efficient access to wound care material 16.
[0113] 2.1. Dispenser Engagement and Wound Care Material Deployment
[0114] The dispenser 10 engagement method involves detachably engaging the dispenser 10 with the holding assembly 20. This process ensures that the dispenser 10 is securely held in place while allowing for quick release when needed. Variations in the engagement mechanism may include different types of fasteners, interlocking elements, or friction-based grips. Operational steps may involve aligning specific features on the dispenser 10 and holding assembly 20, applying pressure to secure the connection, or using a locking mechanism.
[0115] 2.1.1. Dispensing of Wound Care Material
[0116] The wound care material 16 is dispensed from the housing chamber 1 through the ejection slit 2. The dispensed material can then be applied directly to the wound. The wound care material 16 may, for example, be manually pulled from the ejection slit 2. In some instances, the dispenser 10 may include an ejection mechanism 30 to facilitate dispensing. When present, the ejection mechanism 30 may be activated to dispense the wound care material 16. The specific activation method depends on the design of the ejection mechanism 30, as described in Section 1.1.1.1. For example, a sliding mechanism may be activated by pulling a tab, a ratchet mechanism by pressing a button, a spring-loaded system by depressing a lever, a tear-away system by pulling on the exposed material edge, or a twist-and-lock mechanism by rotating a portion of the dispenser 10. This activation initiates the release of the wound care material 16 from the housing chamber 1 through the ejection slit 2.
[0117] 2.2. Use of Hybrid Dispenser
[0118] The hybrid dispenser unit allows for the dispensing of multiple wound care materials 16. This can be achieved through sequential dispensing, where each material is dispensed one after another, or simultaneous dispensing, where multiple materials are dispensed at the same time. The specific method depends on the design of the hybrid dispenser unit and the desired application. The hybrid dispenser unit simplifies wound treatment by providing access to multiple materials in a single, compact unit.
[0119] 2.2.1. Sequential Dispensing of Multiple Wound Care Materials
[0120] In sequential dispensing, each wound care material 16 within the hybrid dispenser unit is dispensed one after another. For example, the user may select the desired material and activate the corresponding ejection mechanism 30. This process is repeated for each material, allowing for layered application of different materials to the wound. Or when several smaller portions of the same wound packing material are used for a larger wound, giving flexibility to treat both smaller or larger wound cavities.
[0121] 2.2.2. Simultaneous Dispensing of Multiple Wound Care Materials
[0122] In simultaneous dispensing, multiple wound care materials 16 within the hybrid dispenser unit are dispensed at the same time. For instance, the user activates a single ejection mechanism 30, which releases multiple materials simultaneously. This method is particularly useful for applications requiring the combined use of different materials.
[0123] 2.3. One-Handed Application Process
[0124] The dispenser system 100 is designed for one-handed operation, enabling selfapplication or application to another individual in emergency situations. Operational steps may include activating the ejection mechanism 30, pulling the material from the ejection slit 2, or tearing a pre-determined length of material. For example, the user retrieves the dispenser 10 from the holding assembly 20, activates the ejection mechanism 30 with one hand, and applies the dispensed wound care material 16 to the wound. This one-handed operation addresses the challenges of traditional bandages, which often require two hands for proper application. Alternatively, the dispenser 10 may remain attached to the external surface, further aiding the one- handed function of the operations. For example, the user arranges the dispenser 10 within the holding assembly 20 so that the ejection slit 2 is accessible, activates the ejection mechanism 30 with one hand, and applies the dispensed wound care material 16 to the wound.
[0125] 3. Operational Process
[0126] The operational steps and functional interactions described below represent exemplary implementations of the invention. The specific operations may be performed in different sequences, with certain steps added, modified, combined, or omitted, while remaining within the scope of the invention, and a similar functionality may be achieved through various alternative approaches not explicitly detailed herein.
[0127] The operational process of the dispenser system 100 begins with wound assessment and material selection, followed by retrieval and deployment of the dispenser 10. Subsequently, wound packing and pressure application are performed. If a secondary wound care material 16 is required, the process continues with retrieval and deployment of the secondary dispenser 10, followed by wound wrapping and sealing. Alternative operational sequences may be employed depending on the specific wound care needs and the types of materials used.
[0128] 3.1 . Wound Assessment and Material Selection
[0129] The first step involves assessing the wound's characteristics, such as size, depth, and location, to determine the appropriate wound care material 16. This assessment may involve visual inspection, palpation, or the use of diagnostic tools. The wound care material 16 may be selected based on the steps of the wound care process, for example an absorption gauze may be selected for wound packing step, and a fixation bandage may be selected for the wound wrapping and sealing step. Based on the assessment, the appropriate dispenser 10 containing the selected material is chosen. Alternative materials may be selected based on the specific needs of the wound, such as the presence of infection or the need for hemostatic agents.
[0130] 3.1 .1 . Retrieval and Deployment of Dispenser
[0131] The selected dispenser 10 is retrieved from the holding assembly 20. The dispenser engagement element 21 is disengaged from the holding assembly engagement element 11 , releasing the dispenser 10. The dispenser 10 is then positioned for deployment of the wound care material 16. Alternative retrieval methods may be used depending on the design of the holding assembly 20 and the dispenser 10. For example, the dispenser 10 may remain attached to the external surface during the wound treatment, enabling faster deployment by eliminating the need to fully detach the applicator, reducing the risk of losing or misplacing the applicator during the treatment process, and allowing for easier for easier one-handed application.
[0132] 3.1.2. Wound Packing and Pressure Application
[0133] The wound care material 16 is dispensed from the housing chamber 1 through the ejection slit 2, for example, by activating the ejection mechanism 30. The material is then packed into the wound cavity, and appropriate pressure is applied to control bleeding. Alternative packing and pressure application techniques may be used depending on the wound's characteristics and the type of material used.
[0134] 3.2. Use of Secondary Wound Care Material
[0135] If a secondary wound care material 16 is needed, such as a plastic film for sealing or an elastic bandage for compression, the appropriate secondary dispenser 10 is selected and deployed. This step follows the initial wound packing and pressure application. Alternative secondary materials and application methods may be used depending on the wound's condition and the desired outcome. 3.2.1. Retrieval and Deployment of Secondary Dispenser
[0136] If needed, a secondary dispenser 10 containing a different wound care material 16 (herein also referred to as secondary wound care material 16) is retrieved from the holding assembly 20. The retrieval and deployment process is similar to that of the dispenser 10, as described in Section 3.1.1. Alternative retrieval and deployment methods may be employed based on the specific design of the holding assembly 20 and the secondary dispenser 10. For example, instead of a secondary dispenser 10 a hybrid dispenser housing multiple different wound care materials 16 may be used for process, as described in Section 3.1.1. and 3.2.1.
[0137] 3.2.2. Wound Wrapping and Sealing
[0138] The secondary wound care material 16, such as plastic film or an elastic bandage, is applied to wrap and fixate the wound-packing wound care material 16 that has sealed the wound. This step provides additional protection and support. Alternative wrapping and sealing techniques may be used depending on the wound's location and the type of secondary material used.
[0139] 4. Description of Examples of the Disclosure
[0140] This section provides illustrative examples of the dispenser system 100 and its components. These examples are not exhaustive and should not be interpreted as limiting the scope of the disclosure.
[0141] 4.1. Example of Cylindrical Dispenser
[0142] In one example, the dispenser 10 is cylindrical, measuring 4 cm in diameter and 10 cm in length. It is made of high-impact plastic and houses a center-rolled gauze bandage. [0143] 4.1.1. Example of Square-Shaped Dispenser A square-shaped dispenser 10, measuring 5 cm x 5 cm x 10 cm, can house a z-folded hemostatic dressing. The square shape allows for efficient storage of the folded dressing and provides a larger surface area for labeling and instructions. This configuration is particularly suitable for compact individual first aid kits (IFAKs).
[0144] 4.1 .2. Examples of Holding Assembly
[0145] The holding assembly 20 can take various forms. For instance, it could be a flexible elastic band with hook-and-loop fasteners, a rigid plastic clip, or a molded holster with a quick-release mechanism. The choice of holding assembly 20 depends on the specific application and desired level of security.
[0146] 4.1 .2.1 . Holding Assembly as a clip
[0147] A holding assembly 20 designed as a rigid plastic clip with a spring-loaded latch can securely hold a cylindrical dispenser 10. The clip can be easily attached to a belt or vest, providing quick access to the dispenser 10. The spring-loaded latch ensures secure retention while allowing for one-handed detachment.
[0148] 4.1 .2.2. Holding Assembly as an elastic cord
[0149] A holding assembly 20 could be configured as an elastic cord made of durable, high- stretch material, such as braided nylon or rubber. The cord is 25 cm long and 5 mm wide, allowing it to securely hold one or more dispenser(s) 10 of varying sizes. The ends of the cord are equipped with hook-and-loop fasteners for adjustable attachment to an external surface. This configuration is lightweight, adaptable, and easy to use, making it suitable for various tactical gear and situations. The elastic nature of the cord allows for flexibility in positioning and accessing the dispenser 10 while maintaining a secure hold. This example is one of many possible configurations for the holding assembly 20.
[0150] 4.1 .2.3. Holding Assembly as a holder A holding assembly 20 could be a rigid holder molded from high-impact polycarbonate. The holder is 12 cm long, 6 cm wide, and 3 cm deep, designed to house two cylindrical dispensers 10 side by side. The holder features a spring-loaded retention mechanism that securely grips the dispenser 10 while allowing for easy one-handed removal. The back of the holder has two straps with buckles for attachment to a belt or vest. This configuration provides organized storage and quick access to multiple dispensers 10, which is particularly useful in tactical medical scenarios. This example illustrates one of many possible configurations for the holding assembly 20.
[0151] 4.2. Example of Hybrid Dispenser
[0152] A hybrid dispenser 10 could house two separate compartments, one for a hemostatic gauze roll (2 cm diameter, approximately 4-6 cm length) and another for a roll of transparent plastic film (approximately 3-4 cm diameter, 10-13 cm length). This combination allows for immediate hemorrhage control followed by wound sealing, streamlining the treatment process.
[0153] 4.2.1 . Example of Dispenser with Multiple Housing Chambers
[0154] A dispenser 10 with two housing chambers 1 , each containing a different width of rolled gauze (2 cm and 4 cm), allows the medic to select the appropriate size for the wound. This configuration improves efficiency by providing multiple options in a single unit.
[0155] 4.2.2. Example of Dispenser with Different Wound Care Materials
[0156] A dispenser 10 can house two different wound care materials 16, such as a hemostatic gauze roll and a roll of non-adherent dressing. This combination addresses both bleeding control and wound protection in a single, readily accessible unit.
[0157] 4.2.3. Example of Dispenser System
[0158] In one example, the dispenser 10 comprises a rectangular housing chamber 1 measuring 3 cm x 3 cm in cross-section and 10 cm in length. The housing chamber 1 is made of high-impact plastic and houses a folded gauze bandage. The dispenser 10 includes a removable cap 3 at the top of the housing chamber 1 . Specialized channels are integrated at both the top cap 3 and the bottom of the housing chamber 1 , extending around the perimeter of the rectangular dispenser 10. These channels are precisely dimensioned to securely receive elastic cords while still allowing controlled movement for engagement and disengagement. The holding assembly 20 comprises a set of elastic cords made of durable, high-stretch material, such as braided nylon or rubber. The cords are 4 mm in diameter and 30 cm in length. These cords are retained within the channels and wrap around the dispenser 10. Each cord includes a simple knotting system that allows for customization of tension around the dispenser 10, ensuring secure retention while accommodating different attachment scenarios. This rectangular configuration offers several advantages, including efficient space utilization, prevention of rolling when placed on flat surfaces, and quick access to wound care material 16 while minimizing contamination risk. The system's versatility allows attachment to various surfaces including webbing, belts, backpacks, or vehicle interiors without requiring specialized mounting hardware, making it particularly valuable in tactical situations where equipment stability and accessibility are important considerations.
[0159] In another example, the dispenser 10 comprises a cylindrical housing chamber 1 measuring 4 cm in diameter and 10 cm in length. The housing chamber 1 is made of high-impact plastic and houses a center-rolled gauze bandage. The dispenser 10 features removable caps at both ends of the housing chamber 1 , allowing access for refilling or replacement of the wound care material 16. The holding assembly 20 comprises a resilient sleeve made of flexible polymer material with two curved, semirigid arms that partially encircle the dispenser 10. The arms are designed with sufficient elasticity to temporarily expand when the cylindrical dispenser 10 is pressed through them, then contract back to their original position to securely grip the dispenser 10. The interior surface of the arms features raised ridges that enhance grip on the dispenser 10 body without damaging its surface. This resilient sleeve configuration provides several unique advantages. The dispenser 10 can be inserted or removed with one-handed operation through a simple push-in or pull-out motion, which is particularly valuable in emergency situations. The sleeve maintains continuous tension on the dispenser 10 body, preventing accidental dislodging during movement or activity. Additionally, the sleeve design leaves most of the dispenser's surface exposed, allowing for clear visibility of contents and unobstructed access to the dispensing opening. This configuration is beneficial in tactical environments where speed of access and security of retention must be balanced effectively.
[0160] 5. Potential Applications
[0161] The dispenser system 100 finds application in various settings where quick and easy access to wound care material 16 is required. Its adaptability to different wound care material 16 and ease of use make it suitable for both professional and personal use.
[0162] 5.1. Application in Tactical Environments
[0163] In tactical environments, rapid access to wound care is crucial. The dispenser system 100 excels in these situations due to its one-handed operation and secure attachment to tactical gear. Furthermore, the attachment of the dispenser system 100 to a tactical vest allows the medic to use both hands freely when the wound care material 16 is pulled out of the dispenser 10, through the ejection slit 2, while attached to the vest. This also allows for self-application or aid to others under duress, addressing the challenges of traditional bandages that are difficult to open and apply quickly in high- stress scenarios. The system's compact design minimizes bulk and weight, for mobility in tactical situations.
