[0003] A reflex sight, also called a reflective sight, is an optical device that is attached to a weapon in front of the conventional sights or instead of them and facilitates aiming. A reflex sight replaces the rear sight and front sight of the weapon and is used to quickly and precisely aim the weapon at a shorter distance. There is usually a shining red point or circle in the middle of the reflex sight. On aiming, the shooter must align the red point with the target.
[0004] Known systems of attachment of reflex sights to pistols do not eliminate production tolerances between the reflex sight and the slide. During shooting, this may lead to oscillations, or even to destruction of the attachment elements.
[0005] The published patent application US20240027163A1 discloses an attachment of a reflex sight via a replaceable plate inserted into the slide. A disadvantage is complexity of this plate and the impossibility to independently change the rear sight.

A disadvantage is the impossibility to centre the reflex sight and to eliminate the plays of the reflex sight attachment. Replacing the reflex sight with a different type requires the replacement of the entire plate. The published patent application EP3869141A1 discloses an attachment of a reflex sight via a plate that has an integrated rear sight. A disadvantage Is a big Installation height of this system and the impossibility to replace the rear sight. Another disadvantage is the necessity to disassemble the entire plate in case of a transition to a different reflex sight type.
[0007] The Springfield Armory Company uses a point contact to attach a reflex sight to the Echelon weapon the disadvantage of which is quicker wear of the pins. It is the object of the invention to propose such an interface for attachment of a reflex sight to a pistol that would make it possible to attach reflex sights of various manufacturers that have different designs of the connection elements.
[0008] Summary of the invention
[0009] The said object is achieved with a universal interface to attach a reflex sight to a pistol, comprising a surface, arranged at the top side of a slide and fitted with at least two threaded holes for fixing screws of the reflex sight, or an mounting plate of the reflex sight, according to the invention the principle of which is that the opposite edges of the surface, two grooves are arranged for mounting pins. The grooves are inclined on a plane obliquely rearwards and the grooves have parallel sides for guiding the pins and an even bottom, and in the region of the closed end of the groove a recessed angled surface of the groove is arranged that is inclined downwards and faces the pin. Each pin comprises a plate with side surfaces for guiding in the groove, and at the top side of the pin plate, a cylindrical protrusion is arranged to be inserted into the reflex sight or into the mounting plate of the reflex sight. At the bottom side of the pin plate, a shaped protrusion with an angled surface of the pin is arranged to abut on the corresponding angled surface of the groove. In the installed condition, the pin and the groove are in a mutual contact between the angled surface of the groove and the angled surface of the pin and at the same time, between the side surfaces of the plate and the sides of the groove The universal interface according to the invention enables easy installation of more than thirty different reflex sight types that are commercially available in the market, namely without the use of an additional plate, which makes it possible to achieve a lower position of the reflex sight for more precise shooting, to reduce the total height of the pistol with the reflex sight and to move the sights lower towards the barrel mouth.
[0010] Another advantage is that the angled arrangement of the grooves for mounting the pins delimits that lateral as well as front-back plays between the slide and the reflex sight and at the same time, it increases the friction force acting against the upward movement. This eliminates inaccuracies of the connection dimensions of reflex sight that otherwise have a great impact on the preciseness of shooting.

[0024] Fig. 1 shows the slide 100 of a pistol that is to be connected to the frame of pistol, which is not shown here. For the sake of clarity, not all functional elements to produce the final firearm are shown on the slide 100.
[0025] At the top side of the slide 100, there is a front sight 117 at the front and a rear sight 118 at the back. Further, at the top side of the slide 100, a universal interface is arranged to attach various designs of reflex sights from various manufacturers.
[0026] The universal interface to attach reflex sights of Figs. 1 and 2 comprises a surface 134, arranged at the top side of the slide 100 (see Figs. 1 and 2) and fitted with threaded holes 120 for fixing screws 129 of the reflex sight 127, or the mounting plate 140 of the reflex sight 138.
[0027] Further, in the rear part of the surface 134 two holes 121 are arranged for cylindrical pins 115, configured according to the respective holes in the reflex sight 127, or in the mounting plate 140 of the reflex sight 138. In the front part of the surface 134, two grooves 124 are arranged for mounting the pins 114 at the opposite edges of the surface 134. The grooves 124 are inclined on the plane 134 obliquely backwards (see e.g. Figs. 1 and 2) and have parallel sides 126 for guiding the pins 114 and an even bottom.
[0028] In the region of the closed end of the groove 124, a recessed angled surface 125 of the groove is arranged that is inclined downwards and faces the pin 114 insertion direction (see Fig. 3).
[0029] Fig. 1 shows four pairs of pins 114 above each other over the grooves 124, the particular dimensions of the pins being adapted to particular reflex sights that are available in the market. However, the basic shapes of all the pins 114 are the same (see Figs 8, 9 and 10). Each pin 114 comprises a plate 157 with side surfaces 158 for guiding in the groove 124, and at the top side of the plate 157, a cylindrical protrusion 156 is arranged to be inserted into the reflex sight 127 or into the mounting plate 140 of the reflex sight 138. At the bottom side of the plate 157, a shaped protrusion 160 is arranged with an angled surface 159 of the pin to abut on the corresponding angled surface 125 of the groove 124.
[0030] In the installed condition (see Fig. 7), the pin 114 and the groove 124 are in a mutual contact between the angled surface 125 of the groove and angled surface 159 of the pin and at the same time between the side surfaces 158 of the plate 157 and sides 126 of the groove 124. Fig. 7 shows that between the pin 114 and the reflex sight 127, there is a play 155, between the slide 100 and the reflex sight 127, there is a play 149, and between the pin 114 and the slide 100, there is a play 150 that makes it possible for the pin 114 to drop. The reflex sight 127, or possibly the mounting plate 140 of the reflex sight 138 abuts on the pin
[0031] 114 on the contact surface 153, which is also subjected to the force Fl, produced after tightening of the fixing screws 129. The installation of the reflex sight 127 on the slide 100 is shown in Fig. 4. The cylindrical pins 115 are inserted into the respective holes 121 and the respective pins 114 are inserted into the grooves 124, the cylindrical protrusions 156 of the pins corresponding to the holes on the bottom surface of the reflex sight 127. Then, the fixing screws 129 are pushed through the holes 133 in the reflex sight 127 and screwed into the threaded holes 120 in the surface 134. Tightening of the fixing screws 129 induces the axial force F0, which will exert the force F1 on the contact surface 153 between the pin 114 and the reflex sight 127. The force F1 on the contact surface 153 between the pin 114 and the reflex sight 127 will cause a movement of the angled surface 159 on the shaped protrusion 160 of the pin 114 along the angled surface 125 of the groove 124.
[0032] The pin 114 moves until the play between the pin 114 and the reflex sight 127 is delimited. The condition after tightening of the fixing screws 129 is shown in a cross-sectional view in Fig. 7.
[0033] At the same time, the angled arrangement of the grooves 124 for the pins 114 causes lateral delimitation of the plays and also of the front-rear plays, which results in a perfect connection of the reflex sight 127 to the slide 100.
[0034] During the movement of the pin 114 along the angled surface 125 of the groove, it is lowered downwards (see Fig. 7), in an extreme case to the delimitation of the play 150 between the pin 114 and the slide 100. However, this would only happen in case of an extreme difference between the sizes of the bottom holes 131 in the reflex sight 127.

In an extreme case due to dirt or production inaccuracies, the piay 155 might be delimited, and in such a case, transmission of feree F1 would occur in this place, where the contact surface 153 would be removed to.
[0037] Afte the installation of the reflex sight 127 on the pistol, the target can be aimed at with the use of the reflex sight lens 128 and the reticle 130 of the reflex sight.
[0038] Fig. 5 shows the installation of the reflex sight 138 on the slide 100 with the use of an mounting plate 140, which is shown separately in an axonometric view of fig. 6. Such a reflex sight 138 with an mounting plate 140 uses an angled dovetail groove 148 for the fixation on the slide 100 wherein a wedge 139 abuts on the groove and is firmly attached with a wedge screw 144. The mounting plate 140 is fitted on a pair of pins 114 inserted into the holes 143 in the mounting plate 140. For firm fixation of the mounting plate 140 the pair of fixing screws 129 must be tightened.
[0039] Manufacturers have promoted this reflex sight 138 attachment system on an mounting plate 140 as very stiff, but the mounting plate 140 lifts the reflex sight higher 138, which is undesirable. With the attachment without an mounting plate 140, but only on the pins 114 and cylindrical pins 115, which also provide a very stiff connection with the slide 100, users that purchase a new reflex sight do not preferentially have to select a reflex sight with installation on an mounting plate 140 for the advantage of a stiffer connection only, but they may select from a wide range of reflex sights that are installed directly on pins 114 and cylindrical pins 115 and are usually positioned lower. An advantage of a reflex sight with a lower position is that in case of a failure of the function of the reflex sight (broken reflex sight, low battery), the weapon can be aimed better through the reflex sight 128 glass using the fixed sights 117, 118.

CLAIMS1. A universal interface to attach a reflex sight to a pistol, comprising a surface (134), arranged at the top side of a slide (100) and fitted with at least two threaded hoies (120) for fixing screws (129) of the reflex sight (127, 138) or an mounting plate (140) of the reflex sight, characterized in that at the opposite edges of the surface (134), two grooves (124) are arranged for mounting pins (114) wherein the grooves (124) are inclined on a plane (134) obliquely rearwards and the grooves (124) have parallel sides (126) for guiding the pins (114) and an even bottom, and in the region of the closed end of the groove(124) a recessed angled surface (125) of the groove is arranged that is inclined downwards and faces the pin (114) wherein each pin (114) comprises a plate (157) with side surfaces (158) for guiding in the groove (124), and at the top side of the pin plate (157), a cylindrical protrusion (156) is arranged to be inserted into the reflex sight (127) or into the mounting plate (140) of the reflex sight, and at the bottom side of the pin plate (157), a shaped protrusion (160) with an angled surface (159) of the pin is arranged to abut on the corresponding angled surface(125) of the groove wherein in the installed condition, the pin (114) and the groove (124) are in a mutual contact between the angled surface (125) of the groove and the angled surface (159) of the pin and at the same time, between the side surfaces (158) of the plate (157) and the sides (126) of the groove (124).
2. The universal interface according to claim 1 , characterized in that in the rear part of the surface (134), at least one pair of holes (121) is arranged for the insertion of cylindrical pins (115).
