[0045] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram showing a system for providing information.

[0046] According to various embodiments, a system for providing information includes an electronic device (110). According to one embodiment, the system for providing information may further include a customer device (120). According to one embodiment, the system for providing information may further include a network that supports information transmission and reception between the electronic device (110), the customer device (120), and at least some of the external devices.

[0047] The electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may include a memory and a processor, and may further include a transceiver. In addition, each of the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) refers to a unit that processes at least one function or operation, which may be implemented as hardware, software, or a combination of hardware and software.

[0048] Meanwhile, throughout the embodiments, the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) are each referred to as separate devices or servers, but this may be a logically divided structure, and at least some of them may be implemented by separate functions in a single device or server. For example, throughout the present disclosure, the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may be implemented by a single device, and in this case, the process of transmitting and receiving information between the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may actually be understood as a process in which data is exchanged within a single device.

[0049] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may include a plurality of computer systems or computer software implemented as network servers. For example, at least some of the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may refer to a computer system and computer software that are connected to a lower-level device that can communicate with other network servers through a computer network such as an intranet or the Internet, receive a task execution request, perform the task in response, and provide the execution result. In addition, at least some of the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may be understood as a broad concept that includes a series of application programs that can operate on a network server, and various databases built on other internal or connected nodes. For example, at least some of the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may be implemented using a network server program that is provided in various ways depending on the operating system such as DOS, Windows, Linux, UNIX, or MacOS.

[0050] Meanwhile, for the convenience of explanation, each operating entity is referred to as an electronic device (110) and a customer's device (120), but these should be understood as comprehensive devices that correspond to various types of devices such as computer devices and mobile communication terminals, include various types of devices, or can be included in various types of devices.

[0051] An electronic device (110) is a device that acquires, processes, and / or provides various types of information. The electronic device (110) can perform various tasks to provide information. Specifically, the electronic device (110) acquires customer information, determines a discount benefit applicable to the customer's purchase of a specific item based on the customer information, acquires a page containing information notifying the customer of the discount benefit, and provides the acquired page to the customer.

[0052] In this disclosure, for convenience of explanation, the term "discount benefit applied when a customer purchases a specific item" is used. However, the "acquired page" of this disclosure does not necessarily include a discount benefit for a single item. In some embodiments, the "acquired page" may include discount benefits for multiple items. In this case, when the "acquired page" includes discount benefits for multiple items, the descriptions related to the "specific item" described below may apply to each of the multiple items. For example, the descriptions related to the "method for determining a discount benefit for a specific item" described below may apply to the method for determining the discount benefit for each of the multiple items.

[0053] A customer can include various entities with the potential to purchase an item. A customer's "likelihood to purchase an item" is sufficiently potential and does not necessarily require a definitive intent. For example, even if a user does not explicitly intend to purchase a specific item, providing information about the item can still lead to a purchase, as long as the likelihood of the customer purchasing the item is not entirely nonexistent. Therefore, a customer can be considered a potential purchaser.

[0054] The customer's device (120) may be a device operated and managed by the customer. The customer's device (120) may interact with the customer or with a device such as an electronic device (110) and perform further operations related thereto. For example, the customer's device (120) may obtain customer information (e.g., receive input from the customer) and transmit it to the electronic device (110). In addition, the customer's device (120) may receive a page from the electronic device (110) and provide it to the customer (e.g., display it on a screen). In some embodiments, the customer's device (120) may receive information that serves as the basis for composing a page from the electronic device (110) and generate and provide the page to the customer based on the information.

[0055] More detailed information regarding the operation of the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) will be described later in FIGS. 2 to 7, etc.

[0056] The electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may include a computer device, a mobile communication terminal, a server, etc. The electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may include or be connected to an input device such as a touchpad, a mouse, or a keyboard for receiving input. In addition, the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may include or be connected to an output device such as a screen, a speaker, or an interface device for providing information to the user. Furthermore, the input device and the output device of the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120) may be configured as an integral unit or may be interconnected. For example, an interface for receiving input may be displayed on at least one of the electronic device (110) and the customer's device (120).

[0057] The operations related to a series of information providing methods according to various embodiments may be implemented by a single physical device, or may be implemented in a manner in which multiple physical devices are organically combined. For example, some of the components included in the system for providing information may be implemented by one physical device, and the remaining parts may be implemented by other physical devices. For example, one physical device may be implemented as part of the electronic device (110), and the other physical device may be implemented as part of the customer's device (120) or other external devices. In some cases, each component included in the system for providing information may be distributed and arranged in different physical devices, and the distributed components may be organically combined to perform the functions and operations of the system for providing information. For example, the electronic device (110) of this specification includes at least one sub-device, and some operations described as being performed by the electronic device (110) may be performed by a first sub-device, and other operations may be performed by a second sub-device.

[0058] FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating an operation of an electronic device providing information according to an embodiment.

[0059] Referring to FIG. 2, an electronic device (110) according to one embodiment acquires customer information (201). According to one embodiment, the electronic device (110) may receive customer information from the customer's device (120) (see drawing number 201). However, the scope of the present disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device (110) may receive customer information from the customer's device (120) or an external device, or may utilize previously acquired customer information, and various other embodiments may exist.

[0060] Meanwhile, the "customer information" described in this disclosure can be understood as a broad concept encompassing various types of information. For example, "customer information" may include information directly related to discount benefits applicable to the customer, such as information on coupons held by the customer and whether the customer is a member. Furthermore, it may include various other information, such as information on the customer's payment method and the type of device the customer is using.

[0061] Based on the customer's information, the electronic device (110) determines a discount benefit applicable when the customer purchases a specific item (202). According to an embodiment, the electronic device (110) may determine one or more candidate discount benefits applicable when the customer purchases a specific item based on the customer's information and the information on the specific item. In this case, the electronic device (110) may determine the discount benefit applicable when the customer purchases a specific item based on the utility provided by the one or more candidate discount benefits to the customer and whether one or more candidate discount benefits can be applied in duplicate. For example, the electronic device (110) may determine candidate discount benefits applicable when the customer purchases a specific item, such as "general discount of 1,000 won",

[0062] If it is determined that there is a "Coupon Discount of 1,500 Won", a "Membership Discount of 1,800 Won", and a "300 Won that can be applied in conjunction with other discounts", and based on this, the discount benefit to be applied when a customer purchases a specific item can be determined as "a total of 2,100 Won (Membership Discount of 1,800 Won and 300 Won that can be applied in conjunction with other discounts)".

[0063] The electronic device (110) obtains a page containing information notifying of a discount benefit (203). The page obtained by the electronic device (110) may include one or more of a page containing information on multiple items and a page containing detailed information on the items. However, these are merely examples to aid understanding of the description, and the type of page does not limit the scope of the present disclosure.

[0064] With respect to the operation of drawing number 203, the discount benefit need not necessarily be explicitly displayed on the page. For example, the electronic device (110) may decide not to display a discount benefit for a specific item on the page, in which case the customer may recognize that no discount benefit exists for the specific item (or, in some embodiments, that even if a discount benefit exists, the discount benefit is minimal). Thus, the "discount benefit notification information" of the present disclosure can be understood as a broad concept encompassing information that enables the customer to recognize the presence of a discount benefit.

[0065] In relation to the operation of drawing number 203, according to one embodiment, the electronic device (110) may determine how the discount benefit is displayed on the page. According to one related embodiment, the electronic device (110) may determine whether the discount benefit satisfies a set condition, and determine how the discount benefit is displayed on the page based on whether the discount benefit satisfies the set condition. The "set condition" may include, but is not limited to, condition information such as whether the discount amount is greater than or equal to a threshold amount and whether the discount rate is greater than or equal to a threshold rate. The way the discount benefit is displayed on the page may include, but is not limited to, a method of excluding information notifying the discount benefit from the page, a method of displaying the discount benefit in a general form, and a method of displaying the discount benefit in an emphasized form.

[0066] According to a more specific example, the electronic device (110) may omit display of the discount amount if the discount benefit is less than 100 won, display the discount benefit in a general form if it exceeds 100 won and is less than 1,000 won, and display the discount benefit in an emphasized form if it exceeds 1,000 won.

[0067] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (110) may receive information from the customer regarding the quantity of a specific item to be purchased, and may re-determine how the discount benefit is displayed on the page based on the quantity to be purchased. For example, in relation to the above example, if the discount benefit is 80 won and the display is omitted, if the customer inputs two quantities of a specific item to be purchased, the total discount amount may be 160 won, and the display method may be re-determined to display the discount benefit in a general form. However, if the customer inputs 13 or more quantities to be purchased, the total discount amount may exceed 1,000 won, and the display method may be re-determined to display the discount benefit in an emphasized form.

[0068] Meanwhile, a method for receiving information on the quantity of a specific item to be purchased from a customer may include providing a handler function for quantity adjustment to the customer (e.g., on a page) and receiving a response thereto, but the scope of the present disclosure is not necessarily limited thereto.

[0069] In addition to the examples described above, various embodiments may exist regarding how the set conditions and discount benefits are displayed on a page. For example, the electronic device (110) may determine one or more of the size and type of the discount benefit, and based on whether one or more of the size and type of the discount benefit satisfies the set conditions, determine which method of displaying the discount amount or the discount rate leads to a higher purchase conversion rate, thereby determining the display method of the discount benefit. In this regard, the "set conditions" according to one embodiment may be set based on the service usage history of previous users, but the scope of the present disclosure is not limited thereto.

[0070] Furthermore, based on the above-described explanations, it is not difficult to understand that an embodiment of receiving information about the quantity of a specific item to be purchased from a customer and re-determining whether to display a discount amount or a discount rate based on the information may also fall within the scope of the present disclosure.

[0071] As can be understood from the above description, information notifying a discount benefit according to an embodiment may include at least one of information notifying a discount amount and information notifying a discount rate according to the discount benefit.

[0072] According to another embodiment in which the electronic device (110) determines how the discount benefit is displayed on a page, the electronic device (110) may determine whether a specific item satisfies a set condition and determine how the discount benefit is displayed on the page based on whether the item satisfies the set requirement. The "set condition" may include, but is not limited to, condition information such as whether the item belongs to a set category (or set categories).

[0073] In a more specific example, the electronic device (110) may display a discount benefit in the form of a discount amount if the category of a specific item falls within one of the set categories, while displaying the discount benefit in the form of a discount percentage if the category of a specific item does not fall within one of the set categories. In this example, the "set categories" may generally include categories with a higher purchase conversion rate when displayed as a discount amount, but the scope of the present disclosure is not limited thereto.

[0074] According to another embodiment in which the electronic device (110) determines how discount benefits are displayed on a page, the electronic device (110) may determine how multiple discount benefits to be displayed on the page are to be displayed. For example, if it is determined that four of the five discount benefits to be displayed on the page are more desirably displayed as discount rates, and the remaining discount benefit is more desirably displayed as discount amounts, the electronic device (110) may unify the display methods for the five discount benefits to be displayed as discount rates.

[0075] The above examples of how discounts are displayed on a page are illustrative and do not limit the scope of the present disclosure. Furthermore, for convenience of explanation, the above examples of how discounts are displayed on a page have been described separately. However, it should be understood that these examples are not mutually exclusive. Rather, two or more examples may be combined to determine how discounts are displayed on a page.

[0076] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (110) may further acquire basis information for determining a discount benefit. The electronic device (110) may configure the information notifying the discount benefit to include basis information. The basis information according to one embodiment may include information describing the process for determining the discount benefit. The basis information according to one embodiment may include type information for one or more detailed discount benefits included in the discount benefit. In this regard, "detailed discount benefits" may be understood to include benefits that are applied when a customer actually purchases a specific item among the one or more candidate discount benefits described above, but the scope of the present disclosure is not limited thereto.

[0077] In one embodiment, the decision basis information may include type information for at least some of the detailed discount benefits included in the discount benefit that satisfy the set conditions. In other words, the decision basis information may include type information for all of the detailed discount benefits, or may include only some of the detailed discount benefits that satisfy the set conditions.

[0078] Meanwhile, the meaning of "including" decision basis information can be broadly interpreted to include cases where decision basis information is provided based on additional input from the user (e.g., decision basis information is provided in response to user input regarding discount benefit information) in addition to cases where decision basis information is provided immediately when the page is provided.

[0079] The electronic device (110) provides the acquired page to the customer (204). In one embodiment, the electronic device (110) may transmit the acquired page to the customer's device (120), but the scope of the present disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, the electronic device (110) may display the page on the screen so that the customer can view it.

[0080] FIG. 3 is a drawing for exemplarily explaining a page including information notifying a discount benefit according to one embodiment.

[0081] Referring further to FIG. 3, a page including discount benefits for three items is exemplarily illustrated. First, referring to the city of FIG. 310, information indicating a discount benefit may include information of FIG. 311 and information of FIG. 312. More specifically, the information indicating a discount benefit may include information on the type of discount benefit ("Membership Discount" of FIG. 311), information on the discount amount ("Save 5,310 Won" of FIG. 312), and information on the discount rate ("58%" of FIG. 311). Furthermore, in the embodiment of FIG. 3, the information indicating a discount benefit may also include price information after applying the discount benefit ("12,980 Won").

[0082] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (110) may include deadline information for applying a discount benefit on the page. For example, referring to the city of drawing number 320, the information indicating the discount benefit may include deadline information for applying the discount benefit, such as "3 days left" (321).

[0083] A more detailed description of an embodiment of including deadline information in a page is provided below in FIG. 6.

[0084] In the embodiment of drawing number 310, since a single discount benefit is applied to an item, its type information is provided. On the other hand, in the case of "Company C Laundry Detergent" of drawing number 320, since two detailed benefits are applied to the item, type information of the detailed benefits may be provided. For example, referring to the city of drawing number 322, information indicating discount benefits may include information indicating that membership discount benefits and coupon discount benefits are provided, such as "Membership Coupon Discount Price" (322).

[0085] While the embodiment of FIG. 3 illustrates an example in which information indicating a discount benefit includes both a discount rate and a discount amount, the scope of the present disclosure is not limited thereto. Referring further to FIG. 4, examples are illustrated in which either a discount rate or a discount amount is selectively displayed. More specifically, referring to the embodiments of drawings 410 and 420, it can be seen that the information indicating a discount benefit includes information indicating a discount rate ("-27% coupon discount" in drawing 412, "38%" in drawing 421).

[0086] Referring to FIG. 4, other embodiments related to information indicating a discount benefit are further described. For example, in the embodiment of drawing number 410, the information indicating a discount benefit may include information indicating the type of benefit (e.g., "-27% coupon discount" in drawing number 412) and information indicating more detailed information related to the benefit, such as the name of the coupon (e.g., "{coupon name} applied" in drawing number 413). Furthermore, in the embodiment of drawing number 420, the information indicating a discount benefit may include information indicating the fact that a discount benefit is provided (e.g., "Discount in progress" in drawing number 422) along with information indicating the type of discount benefit (e.g., "Coupon discount price").

[0087] In the embodiment of FIG. 3, an example of displaying multiple detailed benefits as a single piece of information, such as "membership coupon discount price" (322), when applied is described, but the scope of the present disclosure is not limited thereto. Referring further to FIG. 5, embodiments of displaying the type of detailed benefit in a different manner from FIG. 3 are described. In the embodiment of drawing number 510, information notifying a discount benefit includes information notifying that two or more detailed benefits are applied ("7,310 won double discount applied" of drawing number 511, "7,310 won double discount applied when purchasing now! See details" of drawing number 512), and when a user request corresponding to the information is received (e.g., user input corresponding to the information of drawing number 512), the electronic device (110) may further provide detailed benefit type information ("Immediate discount 5,130 won", "Coupon discount 2,000 won" of drawing number 513) in response thereto.

[0088] Additionally, a page according to one embodiment may further include suggestion information for achieving the benefit application conditions or functions for achieving the benefit application conditions. For example, the information in Drawing No. 513 may further include a function for adding products to achieve the benefit application conditions ("Add Product and Get a Discount" in Drawing No. 514).

[0089] Meanwhile, although the information of drawing number 513 is provided on a different page from the information of drawing number 510, this is only for the convenience of providing information and improving readability, and in fact, there is no difference in purpose and effect from providing it on the same page. Therefore, the "page" in the present disclosure can be understood as a broad concept that includes a new page for providing additional information.

[0090] In relation to this, referring further to the embodiment of drawing number 520, it can be confirmed that information guiding two or more detailed benefits ("7,310 won duplicate discount applied", "5,130 won instant discount", "2,000 won coupon discount" of drawing number 521) can be directly revealed on the page.

[0091] According to one embodiment, information notifying a discount benefit may include standard price information to which the discount benefit is applied for a specific item (e.g., “pre-discount price” of drawing numbers 510 and 520) and price information after the discount benefit is applied for the specific item (e.g., “coupon discount price” of drawing numbers 510 and 520).

[0092] In some embodiments, the electronic device (110) may exclude from the page all price information associated with a specific item, except for the base price information and the price information after applying the discount benefit. For example, referring to the embodiment of drawing number 420 in FIG. 4, the remaining price information, except for the base price information ("26,300 won" of drawing number 421) and the price information after applying the discount benefit ("16,290 won"), may be excluded from the page.

[0093] However, the scope of the present disclosure is not limited to "an embodiment of excluding from a page all price information except for the base price information and the price information after applying the discount benefit." For example, referring to the embodiment of drawing number 410 in FIG. 4, in addition to the base price information ("22,400 won" of drawing number 411) and the price information after applying the discount benefit ("16,290 won"), anchoring price information set by default for the item ("30,400 won" of drawing number 411) may also be included.

[0094] In some embodiments, the electronic device (110) may lower the display importance or priority (instead of excluding it from the page) for the remaining price information, excluding the base price information and the price information after applying the discount benefit. For example, in the embodiments of drawings 510 and 520, the anchoring price "KRW 30,400" may be displayed in a smaller font and with a strikethrough compared to the base price information "KRW 18,290" and the price information after applying the discount benefit "KRW 10,980."

[0095] Figure 6 is a drawing for exemplarily explaining deadline information for applying a discount benefit according to one embodiment.

[0096] Referring to FIG. 6, an electronic device (110) according to one embodiment may include deadline information for applying a discount benefit on a page. For example, referring to the city of drawing number 601, information notifying of a discount benefit may include deadline information for applying the discount benefit, such as "22:12:51."

[0097] In some embodiments, the electronic device (110) may determine whether to display and how to display the discount benefit based on how much time remains until the discount benefit is applied. For example, referring to embodiments of drawings 602 to 604, if the remaining time until the discount benefit is applied is less than 24 hours, the electronic device (110) may display the remaining time in units of hours ("Instant Discount 3 Hours Left" of drawing 602), if more than 24 hours but less than 7 days remain, the electronic device (110) may display the remaining time in units of days ("Instant Discount 3 Days Left" of drawing 603), and if more than 7 days remain, the display of the remaining time may be omitted (see drawing 604). However, these are merely examples to aid understanding, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited to these specific examples. For example, an embodiment in which the deadline is displayed so that hour, minute, and second information is all included, such as drawing number 601, when the remaining deadline satisfies a certain condition (e.g., within 24 hours), may also fall within the scope of the present disclosure.

[0098] FIG. 7 is a drawing for exemplifying an embodiment of including information on a page notifying additional benefits applied when signing up for membership according to one embodiment.

[0099] Referring to FIG. 7, if a customer according to an embodiment is not a member of a membership, the electronic device (110) may acquire a page so that the page includes information notifying an additional discount benefit applicable in connection with the purchase of a specific item when signing up for membership. For example, referring to the embodiment of drawing number 710, if the customer is not a member of a membership, the page may include information notifying an additional discount benefit applicable in connection with the purchase of a specific item when signing up for membership ("3,000 won membership member additional coupon" of drawing number 711). Furthermore, if the customer is not a member of a membership, the page may also include information on other benefits provided when signing up for membership ("Free shipping and free returns for membership members" of drawing number 712).

[0100] For comparison with the embodiment of drawing number 710, if we further examine the embodiment of drawing number 720, which corresponds to the case where the customer is a member, we can see through various information that a greater discount benefit is provided for the item by applying an additional coupon for membership members (this can be easily confirmed by comparing the "-56% membership coupon discount" and "9,980" won of drawing number 720 with the "-43% discount" and "12,980 won" of drawing number 710).

[0101] Figure 8 is an exemplary diagram of the configuration of an electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0102] Referring to FIG. 8, the electronic device (110) includes a processor (810) and a memory (820), and may further include a transceiver (830) depending on the embodiment. The electronic device (110) may be connected to a customer's device (120) and an external device, etc., through the transceiver (830), and may exchange data.
