Description

[0001] A WEB-SHAPED ABSORBENT MATERIAL FOR A DISPENSER, A ROLL, A DISPENSER, AND A METHOD FOR DISPENSING WEB-SHAPED ABSORBENT MATERIAL FROM A DISPENSER

[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD

[0003] The disclosure relates to a web-shaped absorbent material for a dispenser, a roll of webshaped absorbent material, a dispenser for dispensing web-shaped absorbent material, and to a method for dispensing web-shaped absorbent material from a dispenser.

[0004] BACKGROUND

[0005] Dispensers for dispensing web-shaped absorbent material for wiping or cleaning purposes are widely used. Web-shaped absorbent material, such as paper tissue material or nonwoven material come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Typically, the web-shaped absorbent material may be provided in the form of a folded stack or in the form of a roll.

[0006] For example, for some applications, it is desired to provide the web-shaped absorbent material in the form of a centrefeed roll, i.e. a roll where it is intended to feed the webshaped absorbent material from the centre of the roll, by pulling the web-shaped absorbent material in a direction at least partly parallel to the roll centre axis.

[0007] As another example, for some applications, it is desired to provide the web-shaped absorbent material in the form of a roll, where the web-shaped absorbent material is dispensed in a tangential direction of the roll.

[0008] The web-shaped absorbent material may for example be perforated web-shaped absorbent material, where perforation lines may be arranged transverse the length of the web to divide the web-shaped absorbent material into individual products.

[0009] In view of the above, there is a strive to develop improved technology relating to webshaped absorbent material, such as a need for an improvement or an alternative when it comes to separation of the web-shaped absorbent material into individual products. SUMMARY

[0010] An object of the disclosure is to provide a solution which at least partly provides an improvement in view of the prior art, and / or which at least provides a suitable alternative.

[0011] According to a first aspect of the disclosure, a web-shaped absorbent material for a dispenser according to claim 1 is provided.

[0012] Thus, there is provided a web-shaped absorbent material for a dispenser, the web-shaped absorbent material having a longitudinal extension along a longitudinal direction corresponding to a dispensing direction of the web-shaped absorbent material, and a transverse extension along a transverse direction being perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, wherein the web-shaped absorbent material comprises:

[0013] - a longitudinal tear line, wherein the longitudinal tear line is a weakened section of the web-shaped absorbent material with an extension in the longitudinal direction, forming a first partition of web-shaped absorbent material on a first side of the longitudinal tear line and a second partition of web-shaped absorbent material on a second side of the longitudinal tear line, as seen in the transverse direction,

[0014] - a first transverse tear line, provided on the first partition of web-shaped absorbent material, wherein the first transverse tear line is a weakened section of the web-shaped absorbent material with an extension in the transverse direction,

[0015] - a second transverse tear line, provided on the second partition of web-shaped absorbent material, wherein the second transverse tear line is a weakened section of the webshaped absorbent material with an extension in the transverse direction, wherein the first transverse tear line and the second transverse tear line are longitudinally offset from each other.

[0016] By the provision of the web-shaped absorbent material according to the first aspect of the disclosure, an improved web-shaped absorbent material is provided, which at least partly alleviates one or more drawbacks of the prior art, or which at least provides a suitable alternative. For example, the present disclosure is based on a realization that on some occasions a standard web-shaped absorbent material with perforation lines arranged transverse the length of the web-shaped absorbent material may get stuck inside a dispenser such that a user is not able to pull out more web-shaped absorbent material through the dispenser opening. By the configuration of the web-shaped absorbent material according to the first aspect of the disclosure, a user will be able to alternatingly pull out individual products of the web-shaped absorbent material from the first and second partitions. Thereby, when an individual product is separated from the web-shaped absorbent material from e.g. the first partition, another individual product will be available for the user outside the dispenser opening from the second partition. This is achieved in that the first and second transverse tear lines are longitudinally offset from each other. Hence, by the configuration according to the first aspect of the disclosure, the risk of webshaped absorbent material not being available for a user outside a dispenser opening may be mitigated.

[0017] The longitudinal direction of the web-shaped absorbent material may correspond to a machine direction of the web-shaped absorbent material, and / or the transverse direction of the web-shaped absorbent material may be denoted as a cross direction. For example, the dispensing direction may in some examples correspond to the machine direction, e.g., when the web-shaped absorbent material is rolled into a roll and the dispensing direction corresponds to a tangential direction of the roll. However, in other examples, the dispensing direction may be perpendicular to the machine direction, e.g., when the webshaped absorbent material is in the form of a centrefeed roll.

[0018] Optionally, the web-shaped absorbent material comprises:

[0019] - a plurality of first transverse tear lines provided on the first partition of web-shaped absorbent material and being offset from each other in the longitudinal direction,

[0020] - a plurality of second transverse tear lines provided on the second partition of webshaped absorbent material and being offset from each other in the longitudinal direction, wherein the plurality of first transverse tear lines and the plurality of second transverse tear lines are alternatingly distributed along the longitudinal direction, such that each one of the plurality of first transverse tear lines is provided in-between two adjacent second transverse tear lines of the plurality of second transverse tear lines, as seen in the longitudinal direction. This may result in that a plurality of individual products of the webshaped absorbent material may be alternatingly separated by a user from the first and second partitions.

[0021] Optionally, each one of the plurality of first transverse tear lines provided in-between two adjacent second transverse tear lines of the plurality of second transverse tear lines is longitudinally offset from each one of the two adjacent second tear lines by at least a third of a maximum longitudinal length between the two adjacent second tear lines. This may imply that a user more easily will be able to grab a second individual product after a first individual product has been separated from the web-shaped absorbent material.

[0022] Optionally, each one of the plurality of first transverse tear lines is provided midway inbetween two adjacent second transverse tear lines of the plurality of second transverse tear lines, as seen in the longitudinal direction. This may imply that a user more easily will be able to grab a second individual product after a first individual product has been separated from the web-shaped absorbent material. This may also imply that, in a sequence of separating individual products one after the other, a portion of each individual product will always extend with a similar length beyond a dispenser opening before being separated from the web-shaped absorbent material. This in turn may result in a more convenient and predictable dispensing of the web-shaped absorbent material.

[0023] Optionally, the longitudinal tear line is a perforated line, the first transverse tear line is a perforated line, and / or the second transverse tear line is a perforated line. This may result in a more predictable separation of the individual product, e.g., such that the individual product is separated from the web-shaped absorbent material along the tear lines.

[0024] Optionally, the longitudinal tear line is associated with an inner end of the first transverse tear line and / or an inner end of the second transverse tear line, such as the longitudinal tear line defining the inner end of the first transverse tear line and / or the inner end of the second transverse tear line. This may result in an improved separation of the individual product, such as reducing the risk of an unwanted separation in a corner portion of the individual product at the longitudinal tear line. In some examples, the first transverse tear line crosses the longitudinal tear line and / or the second transverse tear line crosses the longitudinal tear line. By way of example, the first and / or second transverse tear line(s) may be configured to cross the longitudinal tear line as a consequence of manufacturing tolerances. In other examples, the inner end of the respective first and / or second transverse tear line(s) ends before the longitudinal tear line.

[0025] According to a second aspect of the disclosure, a roll of web-shaped absorbent material according to any one of the examples of the first aspect of the disclosure is provided, wherein the web-shaped absorbent material is rolled such that the longitudinal direction of the web-shaped absorbent material corresponds to a tangential direction of the roll. Advantages and effects of the second aspect of the disclosure are analogous to the advantages and effects of the first aspect of the disclosure.

[0026] Optionally, the first partition of web-shaped absorbent material and the second partition of web-shaped absorbent material are provided next to each other in the transverse direction, such that a width of the roll at least corresponds to the sum of a width of the first partition of web-shaped absorbent material and a width of the second partition of webshaped absorbent material. This may result in a cost-effective configuration which reduces the risk that the web-shaped absorbent material may get stuck inside a dispenser.

[0027] Alternatively, as another option, the first partition of web-shaped absorbent material and the second partition of web-shaped absorbent material are folded on top of each other at the longitudinal tear line, such that a width of the roll is less than the sum of a width of the first partition of web-shaped absorbent material and a width of the second partition of web-shaped absorbent material. This may result in a more compact roll which reduces the risk that the web-shaped absorbent material may get stuck inside a dispenser.

[0028] According to a third aspect of the disclosure, a dispenser for dispensing web-shaped absorbent material is provided. The dispenser comprises a storage compartment configured to store the web-shaped absorbent material and an opening configured to dispense the web-shaped absorbent material from the storage compartment to an outside of the dispenser, wherein the dispenser further comprises the web-shaped absorbent material according to any one of the examples of the first aspect of the disclosure or the roll according to any one of the examples of the second aspect of the disclosure, and wherein the web-shaped absorbent material or roll is provided in the storage compartment. Advantages and effects of the third aspect of the disclosure are analogous to the advantages and effects of the first and second aspects of the disclosure.

[0029] According to a fourth aspect of the disclosure, a dispenser for dispensing web-shaped absorbent material is provided. The dispenser comprises a storage compartment configured to store the web-shaped absorbent material and an opening configured to dispense the web-shaped absorbent material from the storage compartment to an outside of the dispenser, wherein the web-shaped absorbent material has a longitudinal extension along a longitudinal direction corresponding to a dispensing direction of the web-shaped absorbent material, and a transverse extension along a transverse direction being perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and wherein the web-shaped absorbent material comprises a first partition of web-shaped absorbent material on a first side of a longitudinal line and a second partition of web-shaped absorbent material on a second side of the longitudinal line, and wherein the dispenser is configured such that: when dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material, the dispenser separates the webshaped absorbent material along the longitudinal line, and / or such that: when dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material, the dispenser alternatingly separates the web-shaped absorbent material along a first transverse line, provided on the first partition of web-shaped absorbent material, and along a second transverse line, provided on the second partition of web-shaped absorbent material, such that the first and second transverse lines are longitudinally offset from each other. Advantages and effects of the fourth aspect of the disclosure are analogous to the advantages and effects of the first, second and third aspects of the disclosure. For example, it has further been realized that similar advantages / effects as in the above may be achieved by configuring a dispenser according to the fourth aspect of the disclosure. Hence, by said configuration of the dispenser according to the fourth aspect of the disclosure, the web-shaped absorbent material may not necessarily need to comprise any premade tear lines. It shall however be noted that any example of the first, second and third aspects of the disclosure may be combined with any example of the fourth aspect of the disclosure, and vice versa. For example, the longitudinal line may in some examples be a longitudinal tear line according to any example mentioned herein. As another example, the first transverse line may be a first transverse tear line according to any example mentioned herein. As yet another example, the second transverse line may be a second transverse tear line according to any example mentioned herein.

[0030] Optionally, the dispenser according to the fourth aspect of the disclosure comprises a first member, such as a first roller with an outer periphery, which is configured to contact the web-shaped absorbent material during dispensing so that the web-shaped absorbent material is separated, such as torn and / or cut, along the longitudinal line.

[0031] Optionally, the dispenser according to the fourth aspect of the disclosure comprises at least one second member, such as at least one second roller with an outer periphery, which is configured to contact the web-shaped absorbent material so that the web-shaped absorbent material is separated, such as torn and / or cut, along the first and / or second transverse line.

[0032] Optionally, the opening has a width in the transverse direction which at least corresponds to the sum of the width of the first partition of web-shaped absorbent material and the width of the second partition of web-shaped absorbent material. This may result in that the opening will not interfere with the web-shaped absorbent material during dispensing. This may also imply a more reliable dispensing.

[0033] Optionally, at the opening, the dispenser comprises a force resisting system which is configured to generate a resisting force on the web-shaped absorbent material during dispensing, which resisting force is directed in opposite direction to the dispensing direction. This may result in improved separation of individual products from the webshaped absorbent material.

[0034] Optionally, the force resisting system comprises at least two force resisting rollers, wherein the at least two force resisting rollers have rotational axes which extend along the transverse direction, wherein at least one force resisting roller is provided on one side of the web-shaped absorbent material and configured to roll on the web-shaped absorbent material, and wherein at least another force resisting roller is provided on an opposite side of the web-shaped absorbent material and configured to roll on the web-shaped absorbent material. The force resisting rollers may result in improved separation of individual products from the web-shaped absorbent material.

[0035] Optionally, the dispenser comprises a body and a hood which at least partly define the storage compartment, wherein the hood is pivotally connected to the body via a hinge connection, and wherein the opening and the force resisting system are formed between a portion of the hood and a portion of the body when the hood is in a closed position. This may imply an efficient configuration for achieving the opening and / or the force resisting system. For example, gravitational forces exerted on the hood may result in that the hood is pushing on the body such that the force resisting system is formed between the portion of the hood and the portion of the body when the hood is in the closed position.

[0036] Optionally, at the opening, the dispenser comprises at least one protrusion, such as a nipple, provided on one side of the web-shaped absorbent material and configured to facilitate separation of the web-shaped absorbent material along the longitudinal tear line, the first transverse tear line and / or the second transverse tear line. The at least one protrusion may result in improved separation of individual products from the web-shaped absorbent material. In some examples, at the opening, the dispenser comprises at least two protrusions, with at least one protrusion provided on one side of the web-shaped absorbent material and configured to facilitate separation of the web-shaped absorbent material along the longitudinal tear line, the first transverse tear line and / or the second transverse tear line, and with at least another protrusion provided on an opposite side of the web-shaped absorbent material and configured to facilitate separation of the webshaped absorbent material along the longitudinal tear line, the first transverse tear line and / or the second transverse tear line.

[0037] Optionally, the opening is a nozzle opening having a circular, elliptical or oval perimeter profile, as seen in a sectional plane which is perpendicular to the dispensing direction.

[0038] Optionally, the dispenser as disclosed herein may in some examples be configured to generate any one of the herein disclosed tear lines. Accordingly, the dispenser may be configured to generate the longitudinal tear line, the first transverse tear line and / or the second transverse tear line.

[0039] According to a fifth aspect of the present disclosure, a method for dispensing web-shaped absorbent material from a dispenser is provided. The dispenser comprises a storage compartment configured to store the web-shaped absorbent material and an opening configured to dispense the web-shaped absorbent material from the storage compartment to an outside of the dispenser, wherein the web-shaped absorbent material has a longitudinal extension along a longitudinal direction corresponding to a dispensing direction of the web-shaped absorbent material, and a transverse extension along a transverse direction being perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and wherein the web-shaped absorbent material comprises a first partition of web-shaped absorbent material on a first side of a longitudinal line and a second partition of web-shaped absorbent material on a second side of the longitudinal line, and wherein the method comprises: when dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material, separating the web-shaped absorbent material along the longitudinal line, and / or when dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material, separating the web-shaped absorbent material along a first transverse line, provided on the first partition of webshaped absorbent material, and along a second transverse line, provided on the second partition of web-shaped absorbent material, such that the generated first and second transverse lines are longitudinally offset from each other.

[0040] According to a sixth aspect of the present disclosure, a method for manufacturing a webshaped absorbent material according to any one of the examples of the first aspect of the disclosure or a method for manufacturing a roll of web-shaped absorbent material according to any one of the examples of the second aspect of the disclosure is provided, wherein the method comprises generating the longitudinal tear line and the first and second transverse tear lines. Advantages and effects of the sixth aspect of the disclosure are analogous to the advantages and effects of the first and second aspects of the disclosure.

[0041] Further advantages and advantageous features of the disclosure are disclosed in the following description and in the dependent claims.

[0059] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EXAMPLE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

[0060] Fig. 1 depicts an example of a web-shaped absorbent material 1 for a dispenser according to an example of the first aspect of the disclosure. In the shown example, the web-shaped absorbent material 1 is rolled into a roll 10, i.e. according to an example of the second aspect of the present disclosure. It shall be noted that even though a roll 10 may be an efficient, reliable and robust configuration for storing the web-shaped absorbent material 1 when e.g. being provided inside a dispenser, other ways of storing the web-shaped absorbent material 1 may also be conceivable, such as providing it in the form of a folded stack (not shown).

[0061] When dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material 1 from the roll 10, by unwinding the web-shaped absorbent material 1, the unwinding direction may be clockwise or anticlockwise.

[0062] The web-shaped absorbent material 1 has a longitudinal extension along a longitudinal direction L corresponding to a dispensing direction of the web-shaped absorbent material 1 , and a transverse extension along a transverse direction W which is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction L.

[0063] As shown in this example, the longitudinal direction L of the web-shaped absorbent material 1 may correspond to a machine direction of the web-shaped absorbent material 1. The machine direction may be defined as the rolling direction when rolling the webshaped absorbent material 1 into the roll 10. The transverse direction W may be denoted as a cross direction. In this example, the dispensing direction corresponds to the machine direction, i.e. , the dispensing direction corresponds to a tangential direction T of the roll 10. However, in other examples, the dispensing direction may be perpendicular to the machine direction, e.g., when the web-shaped absorbent material 1 is in the form of a centrefeed roll. Accordingly, by way of example, the web-shaped absorbent material 1 may alternatively be dispensed along a centre axis A of the roll 10, i.e., from a radially inner peripheral surface Rl of the roll 10. In such example, the longitudinal direction L of the web-shaped absorbent material 1, when being dispensed from the roll 10, will extend along the centre axis A. It is also feasible that the web-shaped absorbent material 1 may alternatively be dispensed along a centre axis A of the roll 10, i.e., from a radially outer peripheral surface RO of the roll 10. In such example, the longitudinal direction L of the web-shaped absorbent material 1, when being dispensed from the roll 10, will extend along the centre axis A.

[0064] The web-shaped absorbent material 1 comprises a longitudinal tear line ML, wherein the longitudinal tear line ML is a weakened section of the web-shaped absorbent material with an extension in the longitudinal direction L, forming a first partition 2 of web-shaped absorbent material on a first side of the longitudinal tear line ML and a second partition 3 of web-shaped absorbent material on a second side of the longitudinal tear line ML, as seen in the transverse direction W.

[0065] By a weakened section may herein mean a section, such as along a line, where the webshaped absorbent material 1 is weaker as compared to other sections located adjacent the weakened section. For example, the weakened section may be configured such that when a user pulls in the web-shaped absorbent material 1, the web-shaped absorbent material will break at the weakened section, such that an individual product is provided to the user.

[0066] The web-shaped absorbent material 1 further comprises a first transverse tear line CW1, provided on the first partition 2 of web-shaped absorbent material, wherein the first transverse tear line CW1 is a weakened section of the web-shaped absorbent material with an extension in the transverse direction W.

[0067] The web-shaped absorbent material 1 further comprises a second transverse tear line

[0068] CW2, provided on the second partition 3 of web-shaped absorbent material, wherein the second transverse tear line CW2 is a weakened section of the web-shaped absorbent material with an extension in the transverse direction W.

[0069] The first transverse tear line CW1 and the second transverse tear line CW2 are longitudinally offset from each other. Using other words, the first transverse tear line CW1 and the second transverse tear line CW2 are separated from each other in the longitudinal direction L, i.e., there is a longitudinal distance between the first transverse tear line CW1 and the second transverse tear line CW2.

[0070] Thereby, a user will be able to alternatingly pull out individual products 21 , 31 of the webshaped absorbent material 1 from the first and second partitions 2, 3. Accordingly, when an individual product 21 is separated from the web-shaped absorbent material 1 from e.g. the first partition 2, another individual product 31 will be available for the user from the second partition 3, and vice versa. This is achieved in that the first and second transverse tear lines CW1 , CW2 are longitudinally offset from each other. Hence, by the configuration according to the first aspect of the disclosure, the risk of web-shaped absorbent material 1 not being available for a user outside a dispenser opening may be mitigated.

[0071] The separation of the individual products 21, 31 is achieved along the tear lines associated with the respective individual product 21 , 31. As shown in e.g. fig. 1 , each individual product 21, 31 is in this example defined by adjacent tear lines, and may be square-formed or rectangular-formed.

[0072] In this example, two partitions 2, 3 are depicted. It shall however be noted that more partitions may be provided, i.e., by also providing additional longitudinal tear lines (not shown) which are offset from each other in the transverse direction W.

[0073] As shown in e.g. Fig. 1 , the web-shaped absorbent material 1 may comprise a plurality of first transverse tear lines CW1 provided on the first partition 2 of web-shaped absorbent material which are offset from each other in the longitudinal direction L, and also a plurality of second transverse tear lines CW2 provided on the second partition 3 of webshaped absorbent material which are offset from each other in the longitudinal direction L. Accordingly, the plurality of first transverse tear lines CW1 are offset, i.e. separated, from each other and distributed along the longitudinal direction L on the first partition 2, and the plurality of second transverse tear lines CW2 are offset, i.e. separated, from each other and distributed along the longitudinal direction L on the second partition 3. In this example, the plurality of first transverse tear lines CW1 and the plurality of second transverse tear lines CW2 are alternatingly distributed along the longitudinal direction L such that each one of the plurality of first transverse tear lines CW1 is provided inbetween two adjacent second transverse tear lines of the plurality of second transverse tear lines CW2, as seen in the longitudinal direction L.

[0074] Each one of the plurality of first transverse tear lines CW1 provided in-between two adjacent second transverse tear lines of the plurality of second transverse tear lines CW2 may as shown be longitudinally offset from each one of the two adjacent second tear lines CW2 by at least a third of a maximum longitudinal length L1 between the two adjacent second tear lines CW2. In Fig. 1, this configuration provides that a first transverse tear line CW1 is located within a length range R1 , as seen in the longitudinal direction L. The length range R1 may hence extend along a third of the maximum longitudinal length L1 and be centered in-between the two adjacent second tear lines CW2.

[0075] Each first transverse tear line CW1 may be longitudinally offset to a following first transverse tear line CW1 by the same longitudinal distance. In other examples, the longitudinal distance may vary between pairs of adjacent first transverse tear lines CW1. These examples may also apply for the second transverse tear lines CW2.

[0076] As further illustrated in e.g. Fig. 1 , each one of the plurality of first transverse tear lines CW1 may be provided midway in-between two adjacent second transverse tear lines of the plurality of second transverse tear lines CW2, as seen in the longitudinal direction L.

[0077] The longitudinal tear line ML may be a perforated line, the first transverse tear line CW1 may be a perforated line, and / or the second transverse tear line CW2 may be a perforated line. By way of example, the configuration of the perforations of the respective perforated tear lines may be identical. As another example, the configuration of the perforations of the longitudinal tear line ML may be different to the configuration of the perforations of the first and / or second transverse tear lines CW1, CW2.

[0078] For example, the configuration of the perforations of the longitudinal tear line ML and the configuration of the perforations of the first and / or second transverse tear lines CW1 , CW2 may be such that the longitudinal tear line ML is weaker than the first and / or second transverse tear lines CW1, CW2. This may result in that when e.g. an individual product 21 is provided from the first partition 2, the risk of also simultaneously receiving a following individual product 31 from the second partition 3 is reduced. In more general terms, the configuration of the longitudinal tear line ML and the configuration of the first and / or second transverse tear lines CW1, CW2 may be such that the longitudinal tear line ML is weaker than the first and / or second transverse tear lines CW1, CW2.

[0079] A perforation may be defined as a plurality of apertures or openings, e.g. point-holes or slots, provided along a line which are separated by material portions of the web-shaped absorbent material. The weakness of the perforation may e.g. be altered by altering the length of the apertures or openings and / or the length of the material portions between the apertures or openings.

[0080] Even though perforations may be used for achieving a weakened section as disclosed herein, it shall be noted that a weakened section may additionally or alternatively be achieved in other ways, such as by one or more indentations along the weakened section or by providing less material, i.e. a lower grammage, in the web-shaped absorbent material.

[0081] In some examples, the first and / or second transverse tear lines CW1, CW2 extend along the total width W2, W3 of the respective partition 2, 3. In other examples, the first and / or second transverse tear lines CW1 , CW2 extend along at least 80 % or 90 % of the total width W2, W3 of the respective partition 2, 3.

[0082] For example, as shown in Fig. 1 , the longitudinal tear line ML may be associated with an inner end of the first transverse tear line CW1 and / or an inner end of the second transverse tear line CW2, such that the longitudinal tear line ML defines the inner end of the first transverse tear line CW1 and / or the inner end of the second transverse tear line CW2. However, in some examples, the first transverse tear line CW1 may cross the longitudinal tear line ML and / or the second transverse tear line CW2 may cross the longitudinal tear line ML. By way of example, the first and / or second transverse tear line(s) CW1 , CW2 may be configured to cross the longitudinal tear line ML as a consequence of manufacturing tolerances. In other examples, the inner end of the respective first and / or second transverse tear line(s) CW1, CW2 ends before the longitudinal tear line ML. In the example when the first and / or second transverse tear line CW1, CW2 cross the longitudinal tear line ML, the extension of the transverse tear line on the other side of the longitudinal tear line ML may correspond to less than 10 % or less than 5 % of the total length of the transverse tear line. Thereby, when an individual product is released from one side of the longitudinal tear line ML, it may be avoided that an individual product on the other side of the longitudinal tear line ML is released simultaneously.

[0083] With reference to e.g. Fig. 1 , the first partition 2 of web-shaped absorbent material 1 and the second partition 3 of web-shaped absorbent material 1 may be provided next to each other in the transverse direction W such that a width W10 of the roll 10 at least corresponds to the sum of a width W2 of the first partition 2 of web-shaped absorbent material 1 and a width W3 of the second partition 3 of web-shaped absorbent material 1.

[0084] In an alternative example, the first partition 2 of web-shaped absorbent material 1 and the second partition 3 of web-shaped absorbent material 1 may be folded on top of each other (not shown) at the longitudinal tear line ML such that a width of the roll 10 is less than the sum of a width W2 of the first partition 2 of web-shaped absorbent material 1 and a width W3 of the second partition 3 of web-shaped absorbent material 1. This may result in that a smaller opening of the dispenser may be used for dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material 1.

[0085] The width W2 of the first partition 2 may be different to the width W3 of the second partition 3. In other examples, the width of each partition 2, 3, may be identical. An identical width may imply that individual products of similar or identical size can be alternatingly dispensed from the respective partition.

[0086] Figs. 2a-b depict a web-shaped absorbent material 1 and a dispenser 100 in schematic views according to an example of the present disclosure. The dispenser 100 is configured for dispensing web-shaped absorbent material 1. The dispenser 100 comprises a storage compartment 110 configured to store the web-shaped absorbent material 1 and an opening 120 configured to dispense the web-shaped absorbent material 1 from the storage compartment 110 to an outside of the dispenser 100. The dispenser 100 further comprises the web-shaped absorbent material 1 according to any one of the examples of the first aspect of the disclosure or the roll 10 according to any one of the examples of the second aspect of the disclosure, and wherein the web-shaped absorbent material 1 or roll 10 is provided in the storage compartment 110. As shown in Fig. 2b, the opening 120 preferably has a width W120 in the transverse direction W which at least corresponds to the sum of the width W2 of the first partition 2 of web-shaped absorbent material 1 and the width W3 of the second partition 3 of webshaped absorbent material 1. In the shown example, the width W120 is larger than a total width W10 of the roll 10.

[0087] In Fig. 3 and in Fig. 4, examples of a dispenser 100’, 100” for dispensing web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” according to examples of the fourth aspect of the present disclosure are shown in schematic views.

[0088] In Fig. 3, a roll 10’ of a web-shaped absorbent material T provided inside a storage compartment 110’ is depicted which has a longitudinal tear line ML’ as disclosed herein, but lacks any transverse tear line as disclosed herein. In Fig. 4, a roll 10” of a web-shaped absorbent material 1” provided inside a storage compartment 110” is depicted which has first and second transverse tear lines CW1, CW2 as disclosed herein, but lacks a longitudinal tear line as disclosed herein. It shall be noted that the web-shaped absorbent material or roll provided in the dispenser according to the fourth aspect of the disclosure may not have any tear lines as disclosed herein.

[0089] The dispenser 100’, 100’ comprises a storage compartment 110’, 110”, which is configured to store the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” and an opening 120’, 120”, which is configured to dispense the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” from the storage compartment 110’, 110” to an outside of the dispenser 100’, 100”. The webshaped absorbent material T, 1” has a longitudinal extension along a longitudinal direction L, which corresponds to a dispensing direction of the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1”, and a transverse extension along a transverse direction W which is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction L. The web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” comprises a first partition 2’, 2” of web-shaped absorbent material on a first side of a longitudinal line ML’, ML” and a second partition 3’, 3” of web-shaped absorbent material on a second side of the longitudinal line ML’, ML”.

[0090] With reference to Fig. 3, the dispenser 100’ may be configured such that, when dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material T, the dispenser 100’ alternatingly separates the web-shaped absorbent material T along a first transverse line CWT, provided on the first partition 2’ of web-shaped absorbent material T, and along a second transverse line CW2’, provided on the second partition 3’ of web-shaped absorbent material T, such that the first and second transverse lines CW1’, CW2’ are longitudinally offset from each other.

[0091] Additionally, or alternatively, with reference to Fig. 4, the dispenser 100” may be configured such that, when dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material 1”, the dispenser 100” separates the web-shaped absorbent material 1” along the longitudinal line ML”.

[0092] By separating the web-shaped absorbent material herein means that the web-shaped absorbent material is separated such that it is separated into at least two separate portions. Separating may herein also be denoted as breaking.

[0093] By way of example, with reference to Fig. 4, the dispenser 100” may comprise a first member, such as a first roller 4 with an outer periphery 41, which is configured to contact the web-shaped absorbent material 1” during dispensing so that the web-shaped absorbent material 1” is separated, such as torn and / or cut, along the longitudinal line ML”.

[0094] As another example, with reference to Fig. 3, the dispenser 100’ may comprise at least one second member, such as at least one second roller 5, 6 with an outer periphery 51, 61, which is configured to contact the web-shaped absorbent material T so that the webshaped absorbent material T is separated, such as torn and / or cut, along the first and / or second transverse line CW1’, CW2’. In the shown example, two rollers 5, 6 are depicted, one for each respective partition. It shall however be noted that only one roller may be used, or more than two rollers.

[0095] The first and / or second member may not necessarily be a roller, but other configurations are also conceivable. For example, any other cutting tool for separating the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” may be used.

[0096] An actuation motion of the first and / or second member for separating the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” may be performed as a consequence of a dispensing motion of the web-shaped absorbent material. As such, by way of example, the actuation motion may be initiated when a user pulls in the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” for dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1”. As another example, energy for performing the actuation motion may be generated from the energy used for pulling in the web-shaped absorbent material, whereby the actuation motion is initiated after the initiation of the pulling motion by the user. For example, a spring or the like may be used for conserving energy, which energy is used for the actuation motion. Additionally, or alternatively, the actuation motion may be performed by a motor (not shown), such as an electric motor.

[0097] Dispensing of the web-shaped absorbent material as disclosed herein may hence be performed manually by a user. Additionally, or alternatively, dispensing of the web-shaped absorbent material as disclosed herein may be automatically performed by use of a motor, e.g. an electric motor (not shown). Automatic dispensing may e.g. be initiated when a user provides a dispensing signal indicative of a need for dispensing of the webshaped absorbent material. The dispensing signal may e.g. be provided by the user pressing on and / or touching a button or the like on the dispenser. Additionally, or alternatively, the dispensing signal may e.g. be provided by the user approaching the dispenser with its hand, e.g., the dispenser may comprise an environment perception sensor (not shown) which is configured to detect when the user’s hand is close to the dispenser, such as close to the dispenser opening.

[0098] By way of example, the dispenser as disclosed herein, such as the dispenser 100’ and / or 100” may in some examples be configured to generate any one of the herein disclosed tear lines. Accordingly, the dispenser may be configured to generate the longitudinal tear line, the first transverse tear line and / or the second transverse tear line. This may be done by a tear line generating tool (not shown), such as a roller or the like, which weakens a section along a line such that a tear line as disclosed herein is provided.

[0099] Fig. 5a depicts a side view of a dispenser 100 according to an example of the present disclosure. As shown, at the opening 120, the dispenser 100 may comprise a force resisting system 7 which is configured to generate a resisting force on the web-shaped absorbent material 1 during dispensing. The resisting force is directed in opposite direction to the dispensing direction. In the shown example, the web-shaped absorbent material 1 is provided as a roll 10 as disclosed herein. By said force resisting system 7, separation of the web-shaped absorbent material into individual products can be facilitated.

[0100] Figs. 5b-c show more detailed examples of a force resisting system 7 according to the present disclosure. For example, with reference to Fig. 5b, the force resisting system 7 may comprise at least two force resisting rollers 71 , 72, wherein the at least two force resisting rollers have rotational axes which extend along the transverse direction W. At least one force resisting roller 71 may be provided on one side of the web-shaped absorbent material 1 and is configured to roll on the web-shaped absorbent material 1, and at least another force resisting roller 72 may be provided on an opposite side of the web-shaped absorbent material 1 and is configured to roll on the web-shaped absorbent material 1. The rotational axes of the rollers 71 , 72 may as shown be located so that projections of the rollers 71 , 72 at least partly overlap each other, as seen in a sectional view which is perpendicular to the width direction W. Accordingly, the rollers 71, 72 may be provided one after the other along the width direction W.

[0101] As another example, with reference to Fig. 5c, the force resisting system 7 may comprise more rollers, such as four force resisting rollers 73, 74, 75, 76, wherein the force resisting rollers have rotational axes which extend along the transverse direction W. As shown, two force resisting rollers 73, 75 may be provided on one side of the web-shaped absorbent material 1 and are configured to roll on the web-shaped absorbent material 1, and two other force resisting rollers 74, 76 may be provided on an opposite side of the webshaped absorbent material 1 and are configured to roll on the web-shaped absorbent material 1. The rotational axes of the rollers 73-76 may as shown be located so that projections of the rollers 73-76 do not overlap each other, as seen in a sectional view which is perpendicular to the width direction W. Accordingly, at least one pair of rollers may be provided such that circumferential outer peripheral surfaces thereof face each other, wherein the web-shaped absorbent material 1 is arranged to roll in between the at least one pair of rollers. By this configuration, two pairs of rollers may allow to generate a tension between the two pairs of rollers in the longitudinal direction L, wherein the tension is used for breaking the web-shaped absorbent material 1.

[0102] Fig. 6 depicts another example of a dispenser 100 and web-shaped absorbent material 1 according to an example of the present disclosure. The dispenser 100 may as shown comprise a body 81 and a hood 82 which at least partly define the storage compartment 110, wherein the hood 82 is pivotally connected to the body 81 via a hinge connection 83. The opening 120 and the force resisting system 7 may as shown be formed between a portion of the hood 82 and a portion of the body 81 when the hood 82 is in a closed position. For example, the hood 82 may press on the body 81 by gravitational forces such that the force resisting system 7 is formed between the portion of the hood 82 and the portion of the body 81.

[0103] Fig. 7 depicts another example of a dispenser 100 and web-shaped absorbent material 1 in a side view according to an example of the present disclosure. In the example shown in Fig. 7, more than one protrusion 9 is shown. Accordingly, in some examples, there may be at least one protrusion 9 on one side of the web-shaped absorbent material 1 and another protrusion on an opposite side of the web-shaped absorbent material 1.

[0104] In the examples when the web-shaped absorbent material 1 is provided as a roll 10 as disclosed herein, the roll 10 may be suspended by a center shaft 130, as e.g. depicted in Fig. 5a. In other examples, as e.g. depicted in Fig. 6 and Fig. 7, the roll 10 may be suspended on its outer circumferential peripheral surface by a support surface 140 of the dispenser 100, such as by a cradle.

[0105] Figs. 8a and 8b depict two examples of how a dispenser 100 as disclosed herein may be arranged to be attached to a vertical wall VW. As shown in Fig. 8a, the dispenser 100 may be configured such that, when the dispenser 100 is attached to the vertical wall VW, the centre axis A of the roll 10 extends along the vertical direction of the wall VW. The dispenser 100 may as shown in Fig. 8b alternatively be configured such that, when the dispenser 100 is attached to the vertical wall VW, the centre axis A of the roll 10 is perpendicular to the vertical direction of the wall VW, i.e. such that it extends along a horizontal direction.

[0106] Fig. 9a depicts another example of a dispenser 100 and web-shaped absorbent material 1 according to the present disclosure. As shown, the opening 120”’ may be a nozzle opening with a circular, elliptical or oval perimeter profile, as seen in a sectional plane which is perpendicular to the dispensing direction. In this example, the dispensing direction corresponds to the tangential direction T of the roll 10.

[0107] Fig. 9b depicts another example of a dispenser 100 and web-shaped absorbent material 1 according to the present disclosure. Similar to Fig. 9a, the opening 120”’ may be a nozzle opening with a circular, elliptical or oval perimeter profile, as seen in a sectional plane which is perpendicular to the dispensing direction the web-shaped absorbent material 1. In the shown example, the web-shaped absorbent material 1 is dispensed along the centre axis A of the roll 10, i.e., from the radially inner peripheral surface Rl of the roll 10 as indicated in Fig. 1. This may also be referred to a centrefeed configuration of the roll 10.

[0108] The dispensers as disclosed herein may be configured to store more than one roll 10. For example, the dispenser may be configured to automatically load a new roll to be used once a previous roll in the storage compartment is no longer having any web-shaped absorbent material left.

[0109] The roll as disclosed herein may comprise a core around which the web-shaped absorbent material is rolled. Alternatively, the web-shaped absorbent material may be wound without any core.

[0110] The web-shaped absorbent material as disclosed herein may not necessarily be provided as a roll, but may in some examples be packaged / folded in other ways. For example, the web-shaped absorbent material may be folded in a zig-zag pattern such that it forms a stack with portions of the web-shaped absorbent material provided one after the other on top of each other.

[0111] Dispensers are typically suitable for products for wiping purposes, particularly for personal or object wiping. The user could be the general public and for groups of persons. The products suitable for personal or object wiping normally belongs to the product categories of toilet paper, cleaning roll, kitchen roll or paper towel roll, etc., and described herein as a web-shaped absorbent material. These products typically comprise cellulosic fibres and could fall within the categories of tissue (ISO 12565:2011) and / or nonwoven (ISO 9092:2011). In Fig. 10, a flowchart of a method is shown, wherein the method is a method for manufacturing a web-shaped absorbent material 1 according to the first aspect of the present disclosure or a method for manufacturing a roll 10 of web-shaped absorbent material 1 according to any one of the examples of the second aspect of the disclosure.

[0112] The method comprises:

[0113] S1: generating the longitudinal tear line ML and the first and second transverse tear lines CW1, CW2.

[0114] For example, the longitudinal tear line ML and the first and second transverse tear lines CW1, CW2 may be generated when the web-shaped absorbent material 1 is rolled into a roll along the above mentioned machine direction. A tear line generating tool, such as a perforation generating tool, may be used for generating the aforementioned tear lines.

[0115] In Fig. 11, a flowchart of a method for dispensing web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” from a dispenser 100’, 100” according to the fifth aspect of the present disclosure is shown. The dispenser 100’, 100” comprises a storage compartment 110’, 110” configured to store the web-shaped absorbent material and an opening 120’, 120” configured to dispense the web-shaped absorbent material from the storage compartment 110’, 110” to an outside of the dispenser 100’, 100”, wherein the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” has a longitudinal extension along a longitudinal direction L corresponding to a dispensing direction of the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1”, and a transverse extension along a transverse direction W being perpendicular to the longitudinal direction L, and wherein the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” comprises a first partition 2’, 2” of web-shaped absorbent material on a first side of a longitudinal line ML’, ML” and a second partition 3’, 3” of web-shaped absorbent material on a second side of the longitudinal line ML’, ML”, and wherein the method comprises: when dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material 1”:

[0116] S10: separating the web-shaped absorbent material T, 1” along the longitudinal line ML”, and / or when dispensing the web-shaped absorbent material T:
