[0001] Transparent display unit
[0002] The invention relates to devices for displaying audiovisual information.
[0003] A transparent display is characterized by the fact that it:
[0004] 1. It is transparent in both directions when turned off.
[0005] 2. When turned on, it produces an image on the working side, while the parts of the working side where the image is not produced are transparent in the direction from the working side to the back side.
[0006] 3. When turned on, it is completely transparent in the direction from the back side to the working side
[0007] Thus, in normal mode, the transparent display is capable of displaying an image only on one working side.
[0008] A transparent display device is known (patent US 10725358, 2020), in which a reflective membrane located over the entire surface of the transparent display is used to operate the display in mirror mode when it is turned off and is not used to display the image formed by the display.
[0009] A transparent display device is known (patent US 9971163; 2018), in which a reflective film located on a part of the surface of a transparent display is used to operate the display in mirror mode when it is turned off and is not used to display the image formed by the display.
[0010] The disadvantage of the described devices is the ability to display an image only on one side of the transparent display - in the direction of its working side.
[0011] The proposed invention solves the problem of displaying an image on both sides of a transparent display, when either one part of the display provides an image for display from the working side, and the other part of the display provides an image for display from the back side of the transparent display, or the display displays the image in full either in the main direction or in the opposite direction using a reflective surface.

[0013] SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) For the purposes of this patent, the following terms and their definitions are used.

Transparent display - a device for outputting audiovisual information based on a transparent matrix, which forms and displays an image only on one working side, while the display is transparent from the back side in the direction of the working side, and the surface of the display not filled with an image is transparent in the direction from the working side to the back side.
[0015] 2. A reflector, a reflective surface, is a surface that has the properties of reflecting light waves, for example, a material with a reflective layer applied to it or an electrically controlled material (or other product) that reflects or transmits light waves depending on the control actions received by it.
[0016] The essence of the invention is explained by drawings, which also show options for placing the reflective surface.

[0023] Position 1 in the drawings indicates a transparent display; only for this example, it shows an image on its right side, i.e., it emits an image in the direction from left to right for viewers 4 located on the right side of the display. Position 2 in the drawings indicates a reflective surface; only for this example, it reflects an image coming to it from the left of the display in the direction from right to left for viewers 5 located on the left (rear) side of the display.

[0028] The technical result of using this solution is the ability to display images on both sides of the display.
[0029] The stated technical result is achieved by placing a reflective surface on the side of the part (as an option) of the image-forming surface of the display, whereby one part of the display shows an image intended for viewers from its working side, and the other part, with the reflective surface located in front of it, shows the image for viewers from its reverse side.
[0030] Depending on the required configuration, the following may be working options for the location of the reflective surface:
[0031] 1. The reflective surface is located on the top of the display (Fig. 1 a)
[0032] 2. The reflective surface is located on the bottom of the display (Fig. 16)
[0033] 3. The reflective surface is located on the side of the display (Fig. 1c)
[0034] In the shown examples of arrangement options (the list is not complete, it is given only as examples) the ratio of the areas of the reflective part to the total area of the display can be arbitrary, including the option of completely covering the display with a reflective surface (Fig. 2b), when the reflection area is formed by its own control signals, or when it is required to display the image on both sides of the display non-simultaneously.
[0035] Also, depending on the manufacturing technology, application or location of the reflective surface, it can either be directly applied or located on the surface of the display (Fig. 2a, 26), or located at some distance from the surface of the display, for example, to ensure better cooling during operation.

Claims
Invention formula 1. A transparent display unit comprising a transparent display (1) and a reflector (2), characterized in that the reflector is placed on the side of the working surface of the display with the reflective layer facing inward with the possibility of transmitting an image of the display in the opposite direction.
2. The unit according to item 1, characterized in that the reflector (2) is adjacent to the surface of the transparent display (1).
3. The unit according to item 1, characterized in that the reflector (2) is located at a distance from the surface of the transparent display (1).
4. The unit according to claim 1, characterized in that the reflector (2) is a film (3) with a mirror layer (4) applied to it.
5. The unit according to item 1, characterized in that the reflector (2) is located on the side of the upper or lower part of the working surface of the display.
6. The unit according to item 1, characterized in that the reflector (2) is located on the right or left side of the working surface of the display.
