Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods and computer readable medium for detecting a paging occasion (PO) under subband full duplex operation. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a terminal device receives, from a network device, configuration information indicating a set of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring occasions. The set of PDCCH monitoring occasions at least partially overlaps with one or more subband full duplex (SBFD) time units. The terminal device further determines whether to detect control information during one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions. The terminal device further performs, based on the determination, at least one of: i) a detection of control information during the one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions or ii) an uplink transmission on the one or more SBFD time units.

Description

DEVICE, METHOD AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM FOR COMMUNICATIONFIELD

[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of communication, and in particular, to devices, methods and computer readable medium for detecting a paging occasion (PO) under subband full duplex operation.BACKGROUND

[0002] With the development of communication technology, to enhance the performance of the communication system, several refined resource configuration manners had been introduced. For example, to easily utilize the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology, the Time Division Duplex (TDD) pattern has been studied and adopted, in which a time symbol may be configured as an uplink (UL) symbol, a downlink (DL) symbol or a flexible symbol. In this case, during a symbol, the configured whole bandwidth part (BWP) or carrier is used for communication of the corresponding link direction (for example, UL or DL) . To further enhance the frequency spectrum efficiency, a subband non-overlapping full duplex (SBFD) operation was proposed on the basis of the TDD pattern. In the SBFD operation, a time unit (for example, a symbol, slot, sub-frame, frame, and so on) which may be also referred to as an SBFD time unit can be divided into a plurality of frequency subbands in the frequency domain. The plurality of frequency subbands may be respectively used for different link directions, for example, uplink (UL) frequency subband or downlink (DL) frequency subband. That is, on a DL symbol configured with a UL subband, the network device may perform the DL transmission on the DL subband and perform the UL reception on the configured UL subband during this DL symbol.

[0003] In addition, a paging occasion (PO) is a specific time interval during which UE is expected to monitor or detect a downlink control channel from the network device for receiving coming paging messages. Accordingly, the detection of PO is a key aspect in any scenario.SUMMARY

[0041] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the term “SBFD aware UE” used herein may refer to the terminal device which obtains the SBFD configuration for time units, for example, the subband division or location of the time units, and supports the SBFD operations with the network device.

[0042] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the term “SBFD slot” refers to a slot including at least one SBFD symbol which is configured with frequency subbands for different link directions. In addition to the at least one SBFD symbol, the SBFD slot may  further include one or more non-SBFD symbols.

[0043] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the term “reference signal” refers to a predefined signal known to both the transmitter and receiver, used primarily for synchronization, channel estimation, and other purposes to ensure accurate and efficient communication. It serves as a benchmark for the receiver to detect, synchronize with, and decode the transmitted data correctly, compensating for any distortions or shifts that occur during transmission. This reference signal is essential in maintaining the integrity and reliability of the communication system.

[0044] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the term “paging occasion (PO) ” refers to a specific time interval during which UE is expected to monitor or detect a downlink control channel from the network device for receiving coming paging messages. In some cases, the UE monitors one paging occasion (PO) per DRX cycle. A PO includes or is a set of PDCCH monitoring occasions and can consist of multiple time slots (e.g. subframe or OFDM symbol) where paging DCI can be sent. In addition, one Paging Frame (PF) is one Radio Frame and may contain one or multiple PO (s) or starting point of a PO. The PF and PO for paging are determined by the following formula. System frame number (SFN) for PF is determined by: (SFN + PF_offset) mod T = (T div N) * (UE_ID mod N) , wherein T is a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, N is the total number of the PF, PF_offset is an offset of the PF and UE_ID is the identification of UE. Then, Index (i_s) , indicating the index of the PO is determined by: i_s= floor (UE_ID / N) mod Ns, where Ns is the number PO corresponding to the PF. Moreover, the PDCCH monitoring occasions for the PO are determined according to the parameters “pagingSearchSpace” , “firstPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionOfPO” and “nrofPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionPerSSB-InPO” configured in the PDCCH configuration (e.g., PDCCH-ConfigCommon) .

[0045] In some example embodiments of the disclosure, the term “paging early indication (PEI) ” refers to an indication of whether UE needs to receive Paging in the next Paging Occasion (PO) . In other words, with the PEI, the UE does not need to monitor every DRX cycle, but only needs to follow the instructions of the PEI before the PO. If the PEI indicates that the next PO needs to be monitored, the UE will monitor it. If the PEI indicates that the detection of next PO is unnecessary (or the next PO does not to be monitored) , the UE does not need to monitor it.

[0046] As mentioned above, the detection of PO is a key aspect in any scenario. In turn,  under the SBFD operation, the PO including one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions may overlap with the SBFD time unit (for example, SBFD symbol or SBFD slot) in which the UE may have a UL transmission. However, UE is not enabled to perform the DL reception or the UL transmission simultaneously even in the SBFD time unit, due to the device capabilities. In this case, how to handle the detection of PO associated with the SBFD time unit and the UL transmission should be considered. To discuss clarity, the overlapping between PO and the SBFD time unit is further discussed with reference to FIG. 1B.

[0047] In view of the above, the example embodiments of the disclosure propose aspects for detecting a paging occasion (PO) under subband full duplex operation.

[0048] In one aspect, a terminal device receives, from a network device, configuration information indicating a set of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring occasions. In some cases, the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions may overlap with one or more subband full duplex (SBFD) time units. For example, the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions may be within SBFD symbols. In another example, a portion of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions may be within SBFD symbols. In this case, the terminal device further determines whether to detect control information during one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions. The terminal device further performs, based on the determination, at least one of: i) a detection of control information during the one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions or ii) an uplink transmission on the one or more SBFD time units.

[0049] In this way, under the SBFD operation, the terminal device may determine whether the PDCCH monitoring occasions of a PO are the valid occasions to be detected. As such, the PO detection may be coordinated with UL transmission on the SBFD time unit.

[0050] For illustrative purposes, principle and example embodiments of the present disclosure will be described below with reference to FIGS. 1-14. However, it is to be noted that these embodiments are given to enable the skilled in the art to understand inventive concepts of the present disclosure and implement the solution as proposed herein, and not intended to limit scope of the present application in any way.

[0051] FIG. 1A illustrates an example environment 100 in which some embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented.

[0052] The environment 100, which may be a part of a communication network, comprises a terminal device 110 and a network device 120. In some embodiments, the communication  network may include NTN, NB-IoT and / or eMTC. In some other embodiments, the communication network may include any other possible communication network. Although not shown, it would be appreciated that one or more terminal devices, TRPs and network devices may be located in the environment 100. In some embodiments, the network device 120 supports the SBFD / OSFD operation. For example, during the same SBFD time units, the network device 120 may transmit a downlink (DL) channel to the terminal device 110 and receive an UL channel from another terminal device (which is not shown in FIG. 1A) , simultaneously. In other words, the network device 120 may transmit signal (s) in a downlink (DL) channel to the terminal device 110 and receive signal (s) in an UL channel from another terminal device, simultaneously.

[0053] It is to be understood that the number of units and other objects in FIG. 1 is provided merely for the purpose of illustration without implying any limitations to the device environment 100. The environment 100 may include any suitable number of functionality units configured to implement example embodiments of the subject disclosure. Although not shown, it would be appreciated that one or more terminal devices may be located in the environment 100.

[0054] FIG. 1B illustrates example paging occasions (PO) overlapping with subband full duplex (SBFD) time units.

[0055] As shown in FIG. 1B, the PO may fully or partially overlap with SBFD durations. In a first example configuration, the PO2 130 fully overlap with the SBFD duration. That is, the PO2 130 is configured within the duration of the SBFD symbols / slots. In a second example configuration, the PO2 140 partially overlap with the SBFD duration. For example, a portion of the PO2 140 is within the SBFD symbols / slots. As mentioned above, how to handle the overlapping should be considered. For example, UE should determine whether to perform PDCCH monitoring for paging on the DL subband or transmit UL (such as SDT) on UL subband in the SBFD symbols.

[0056] At least to solve the related issues mentioned above, some embodiments of the disclosure are discussed with reference to FIGS. 2 to 11.

[0057] FIG. 2 illustrates a signaling process 200 for detecting a paging occasion (PO) under subband full duplex operation according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussions, the process 200 will be described with reference to FIG. 1A. It would be appreciated that although the process 200 has been described with respect to  communication environment of FIG. 1A, this process 200 may be likewise applied to other communication environments.

[0058] In the signaling process 200, the network device 120 transmits configuration information 215 indicating a set of PDCCH monitoring occasions. The set of PDCCH monitoring occasions at least partially overlap with one or more SBFD time units.

[0059] Regarding the overlapping, in some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit a configuration related to the SBFD time unit to the terminal device 110, and the configuration may indicate that a plurality of time units is configured as the SBFD time units. Meanwhile, in some cases, a portion of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions or the complete set of PDCCH monitoring occasions may be also configured on the plurality of time units by the configuration information 215. For example, as mentioned above, based on the PDCCH configuration, the calculated PO index may identify the PO associated with one or more of the plurality time units. In turn, in this case, the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions may partially or fully overlap with the SBFD time units.

[0060] In some embodiments, the configuration related to the SBFD time unit and the configuration information 215 may be independent from each other. For example, the configuration related to the SBFD time unit and the configuration information 215 may be transmitted separately. For example, the configuration related to the SBFD time unit may be received before the configuration information 215. Alternatively, the configuration information 215 may be received before the configuration related to the SBFD time unit. In some embodiments, the configuration related to the SBFD time unit and the configuration information 215 may be transmitted together without any limitation.

[0061] The terminal device 110 receives (220) the configuration information 215 accordingly. Then, the terminal device 110 determines (230) whether to detect control information during one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions of the set of PDCCCH monitoring occasions, due to the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions overlaps with the SBFD time units.

[0062] In some embodiments, the configuration information 215 may differently indicate the PO associated with the SBFD time unit, compared to the normal PO on the non-SBFD time unit (e.g., the DL slots / symbols) . In an example, for SBFD aware terminal device, more PDCCH monitoring occasions for the PO that fully or partially overlapped with SBFD slot may be configured. The terminal device 110 may select the PDCCH monitoring  occasion (s) that do not overlap with UL transmission to detect PDCCH for paging on SBFD slots / symbols. As an example, the configuration information 215 may indicate a first PO that overlaps with the one or more SBFD time units, and the first PO includes a first number of PDCCH monitoring occasions. Moreover, the first number is greater than the number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in a second PO which does not overlap with an SBFD time unit.

[0063] In some embodiments, the configuration information 215 may be carried in a PDCCH configuration from the network device 120, for example, PDCCHconfigcommon. Moreover, the first number may be determined based on a parameter dedicated to the SBFD time unit in the PDCCH configuration, and the parameter is disabled for the non-SBFD time unit. As an example, a dedicated parameter, such as the “nrofPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionPerSSB-InPO-SBFD” may be configured for SBFD aware terminal to detect PDCCH for paging on SBFD symbols. The dedicated parameter maybe defined and separately configured for PO that overlapped with SBFD slots / symbols. This dedicated parameter may be used to determine the number of PDCCH monitoring occasions for paging in SBFD slots / symbols, and is not enabled or applied for DL only slot. In an example, the value of the parameter nrofPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionPerSSB-InPO-SBFD may be greater than the nrofPDCCH-MonitoringOccasionPerSSB-InPO that is used for determining the number of PDCCH monitoring occasions on the normal DL slot. Without any limitation, the above embodiment may be also expressed below.

[0064] To discuss clarity, the above embodiments are further discussed with reference to FIG. 3. FIG. 3 illustrates an example of a plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasions configured for a PO associated with the SBFD time unit according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0065] In the example of FIG. 3, regarding the first number of PDCCH monitoring occasions, assuming that the number of actual transmitted synchronization signal blocks (SSB) “S” is equal to 2, and the number of PDCCH monitoring occasions corresponding to  a transmitted SSB is equal to “4” . In this case, the PO overlapping with the SBFD time unit (s) is a set of S*X=8 number of consecutive PDCCH monitoring occasions in SBFD time unit (s) . In addition, regarding the number of PDCCH monitoring occasions for a PO which does not overlap with the SBFD time unit (s) , the number of PDCCH monitoring occasions corresponding to a transmitted SSB may be set to “2” . As shown in FIG. 3, in the PO overlapping with the SBFD symbols, the number of PDCCH monitoring occasions is eight (8) . Compared to the normal PO on the DL symbols, the PO further includes four additional PDCCCH monitoring occasions 320 in addition to the four original PDCCH monitoring occasions 310 (which is calculated by S*2) .

[0066] In this case, since the PDCCH monitoring occasions 310 overlaps with the UL transmission 330 in the time domain. The terminal device 110 may determine to detect control information during the PDCCH monitoring occasions 320, and determine to transmit the UL transmission 330. That is, the terminal device 110 may select, among the first number of PDCCH monitoring occasions, the one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions which do not overlap with the uplink transmission configured on the one or more SBFD time units in the time domain. Then, the terminal device 110 may detect (250) the control information during the selected one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions, and transmit (250) the uplink transmission on the one or more SBFD time units to the network device 120. In this way, the PDCCH monitoring occasions for paging on SBFD symbols can be increased, and overlapping issue between the UL transmission and PO can be solved. Without any limitation, the above embodiment may be also expressed below.

[0067] Referring back to FIG. 2, alternatively, at step 230, the terminal device 110 may select one of the detection of control information during PDCCH monitoring occasion or the UL transmission to perform. In some embodiments, some criterion may be defined in advance. For example, the criteria may require when the PO overlaps with the SBFD time unit, the terminal device 110 may determine to detect the control information during the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions, without performing the uplink transmission. Alternatively, the criteria may require when the PO overlaps with the SBFD time unit, the terminal device 110 may determine to perform the uplink transmission (if any) on the one or more SBFD time units, without detecting the control information during the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions.

[0068] In a specific example, if a PO fully overlapped with SBFD duration or UL subband, the terminal device 110 choose to do the PDCCH monitoring for paging or UE will not do PDCCH monitoring on PDCCH monitoring occasion and transmit UL based on the predefined criterion or rule. Without any limitation, the above embodiment may be also expressed below.

[0069] In some embodiments, the above uplink transmission may be one of a plurality of repetition transmissions. In some embodiments, the plurality of the repetition transmissions may be a plurality of physical random access channel (PRACH) repetition transmissions. To discuss clarity, the plurality of PRACH repetition transmissions is further discussed with reference to FIG. 4A.

[0070] FIG. 4A illustrates an example of a detection of PO overlapping with a PRACH repetition transmission on the SBFD time unit according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0071] As shown in FIG. 4A, a PO including multiple PDCCH monitoring occasions fully overlaps with SBFD symbols. In addition, on the SBFD symbols, one of a plurality of PRACH repetition transmissions is configured. As mentioned above, the criterion or rule may be defined for the detection of PO overlapped with SBFD time units on which UL transmission is scheduled. In some embodiments, if the UL transmission is PRACH repetition transmission on the SBFD slot that overlaps with PO, the terminal device 110 may drop the PRACH transmission and monitor PDCCH for paging within the PO on SBFD symbols. Alternatively, in some embodiments, if the UL transmission is PRACH repetition transmission on the SBFD slot that overlaps with PO, the terminal device 110 may not monitor PDCCH, and perform the PRACH repetition transmission on the SBFD slots. In the example of FIG. 4A, the terminal device 110 drops the PRACH repetition #2 transmission on the SBFD symbols and monitor PDCCH for paging according to predefined priority rule.

[0072] Alternatively, the above plurality of the repetition transmissions may be a plurality of Message 3 (Msg3) repetition transmissions. To discuss clarity, the plurality of PRACH repetition transmissions is further discussed with reference to FIG. 4B.

[0073] FIG. 4B illustrates another example of a detection of PO overlapping with a Message 3 (Msg3) repetition transmission on the SBFD time unit according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0074] As shown in FIG. 4B, a PO including multiple PDCCH monitoring occasions fully overlaps with SBFD symbols. In addition, on the SBFD symbols, one of a plurality of Msg 3 repetition transmissions is configured. As mentioned above, the criterion or rule may be defined for the detection of PO overlapped with SBFD time units on which UL transmission is scheduled. In some embodiments, if the UL transmission is PRACH repetition transmission on the SBFD slot that overlaps with PO, the terminal device 110 may drop the Msg 3 transmission and monitor PDCCH for paging within the PO on SBFD symbols. Alternatively, in some embodiments, if the UL transmission is Msg3 repetition transmission on the SBFD slot that overlaps with PO, the terminal device 110 may not monitor PDCCH, and perform the Msg 3 repetition transmission on the SBFD slots. In the example of FIG. 4B, the terminal device 110 does not detect the control information during the PO that  overlapped with Msg3 but transmit the msg3 PUSCH repetition #2 transmission on the SBFD symbols according to predefined priority rule.

[0075] Referring back to FIG. 2, at 230, alternatively, the terminal device 110 may determine, based on a priority level of associated UL transmission, whether to detect the control information during one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine a priority level of the uplink transmission. Then, the terminal device 110 may determine, based on the priority level, to perform the detection of the control information during the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions or to transmit the uplink transmission on the one or more SBFD time units. That is, if the PDCCH monitoring occasion collides with UL transmission on SBFD symbols, the terminal device 110 may detect the PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) and drop UL transmission, or perform the UL transmission and omit / drop the PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) , based on the predefined priority rule of UL channel / signal.

[0076] Only as examples and without any limitation, some priority levels are shown as below. If the UL transmission on SBFD symbols is Msg3, the terminal device 110 may transmit PUSCH and refrain from detecting the control information (e.g., PDCCH) on PDCCH monitoring occasions. In this example, the Msg 3 PUSCH is prioritized over the PDCCH monitoring.

[0077] In another example, if UL transmission on SBFD symbols is Msg3 PUSCH, the terminal device 110 may detect the control information (e.g., PDCCH) on PDCCH monitoring occasion and refrain from transmits PUSCH on the UL subband. In this example, the PDCCH monitoring is prioritized over Msg 3 PUSCH.

[0078] In a further example, if UL transmission is PUCCH / PRACH, the terminal device 110 may perform the PUCCH / PRACH transmission and refrain from detecting the control information (e.g., PDCCH) on PDCCH monitoring occasions. In this example, the PUCCH / PRACH is prioritized over the PDCCH monitoring.

[0079] In a yet example, if the UL transmission is the periodic SRS, the terminal device 110 may detect the control information (e.g., PDCCH) on PDCCH monitoring occasions and refrain from transmitting SRS. In this example, the periodic SRS is prioritized over the PDCCH monitoring.

[0080] In a next example, if the UL transmission is aperiodic SRS, the terminal device 110 may transmit aperiodic SRS and refrain from detecting the control information (e.g., PDCCH)  on PDCCH monitoring occasions. In this example, the aperiodic SRS is prioritized over the PDCCH monitoring.

[0081] Still referring to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions may partially overlap with SBFD time unit (s) . In this case, the terminal device 110 may detect the portion of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions which does not overlap with the SBFD time unit (s) . In a specific example, assuming that a PO including multiple PDCCH monitoring occasions partially overlaps with a SBFD duration. In this case, the terminal device 110 may only select the PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) that does not overlap with UL transmission or SBFD duration from the multiple PDCCH monitoring occasions. Then, the terminal device 110 only detect the selected PDCCH monitoring occasions to obtain control information (e.g. PDCCH) that schedules paging message. In turn, the network device 120 may transmit PDCCH for paging on the selected PDCCH monitoring occasion that does not overlap with UL transmission. To discuss clarity, the PO partially overlapping with the SBFD symbols / slots is further discussed with reference to FIG. 5.

[0082] FIG. 5 illustrates an example of a detection of PO partially overlapping with SBFD time units according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0083] As shown in FIG. 5, the PO including six PDCCH monitoring occasions partially overlaps with SBFD symbols. The portion 510 including three PDCCH monitoring occasions do not overlap with SBFD symbols, and the other portion of the PO overlaps with the SBFD symbols. In this case, the terminal device 110 may refrain from detecting the PDCCH monitoring occasions in the other portion (or, the PDCCH monitoring occasions #0, #1 and #2) that overlaps with SBFD time units. In addition, the terminal device 110 may detect the control information during the portion 510 which does not overlap with the SBFD symbols.

[0084] Referring back to FIG. 2, in addition, assuming that the above the one or more SBFD time units are one or more SBFD slots. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit, to the terminal device 110, an indication of at least one SBFD symbol in the one or more SBFD slots. The at least one SBFD symbol is indicated to be unavailable for the uplink transmission. In this case, based on the indication, the terminal device 110 may determine to detect the control information during a PDCCH monitoring occasion which overlaps with the at least one SBFD symbol unavailable for the uplink transmission. In an example, the network device 120 may configure / indicate SBFD symbols of some slots in the  TDD-UL-DL pattern period configured by dl-UL-TransmissionPeriodicity in TDD-UL-DL-ConfigCommon shall not be considered available for the terminal device to transmit UL transmission. In turn, these symbols can be used by the terminal device 110 to detect the control information (e.g., PDCCH) .

[0085] In some embodiments, this indication may include a slot index and a symbol level indication. The slot index and symbol level indication may be used by the terminal device 110 to determine which SBFD slot and symbols in the SBFD periodicity are unavailable for the UL transmission. In an example, the symbol level indication may include at least one of: symbols index indication, symbol start and length indicator, or symbol bitmap indication. In this way, the terminal device 110 may determine which symbols in a SBFD slot cannot be used for UL transmission.

[0086] As an example, the network device 120 may indicate that UL subband in SBFD slot #3 from symbol #5~symbol #9 cannot be used for UL transmission. In this case, the terminal device 110 may drop the PRACH or Msg3 transmission on these symbols. Furthermore, if there is a PO on these symbols, the terminal device 110 may detect the control information (e.g., PDCCH) on PDCCH monitoring occasions of the PO.

[0087] Referring back to FIG. 2, in addition or alternatively, at step 230, the terminal device 110 may determine, based on a paging early indication (PEI) associated with SBFD time unit, whether to detect control information during one or more of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions on SBFD time unit. For example, the PEI associated with the SBFD time unit may indicate the terminal device 110 whether to detect control information during one or a list of SBFD slots.

[0088] In some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit the PEI for the SBFD time unit to the terminal device 110. The terminal device 110 may receive the PEI accordingly and determine whether to detect the control information during the PDCCH monitoring occasion (s) in a time period. A length of the time period may be an integer multiple of a discontinuous reception (DRX) periodicity. In an example, a dedicated paging PDCCH indication field may be added into DCI being of format 2_7. The indication field may be also referred to as “PEI-SBFD” in some embodiments of the disclosure. To discuss clarity, this PEI is further discussed with reference to FIG. 6.

[0089] FIG. 6 illustrates an example paging early indication (PEI) associated with the SBFD time unit according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0090] In the example of FIG. 6, if the indication field is “1” , the terminal device 110 may detect / monitor each PDCCH monitoring occasions on the SBFD time unit (s) in the time period (e.g., the multiple integer of the DRX period) . Otherwise, if the indication field is “0” , the terminal device 110 may refrain from detecting any PDCCH monitoring occasions on the SBFD time unit (s) in the time period.

[0091] In addition or alternatively, in some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 receives the PEI associated with SBFD time unit in a DRX cycle, the terminal device 110 may detect each PDCCH monitoring occasions on the SBFD time unit (s) of the DRX cycle. Otherwise, if the terminal device does not receive PEI in the DRX cycle, the terminal device 110 may refrain from detecting the PDCCH monitoring occasions on the SBFD unit (s) of the DRX cycle.

[0092] Referring back to FIG. 2, in addition or alternatively, the above PEI associated with the SBFD time unit may be a field having a plurality of bits. The set of PDCCH monitoring occasions may be divided into a plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups. In some embodiments, a bit of the plurality of PEI bits may correspond to a PDCCH monitoring occasion groups. As an example, a third PO includes the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions overlapping with the SBFD time unit (s) . A fourth PO includes another set of PDCCH monitoring occasions which does not overlap with the SBFD time unit. The set of PDCCH monitoring occasions is divided into a first plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups and the other set of PDCCH monitoring is divided into a second plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups. Moreover, the state of the bit may indicate whether the corresponding PDCCH monitoring occasion group needs to be detected.

[0093] In some embodiments, the PO on the SBFD time unit (s) and another normal PO on the DL time unit (s) may be separately numbered. For example, the first plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups may be numbered independently from the second plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups, and / or the third PO may be numbered independently from the fourth PO. In some embodiments, one bit of the PEI associated with the SBFD time unit corresponds to one PDCCH monitoring occasion group among the first plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups. In this case, depending on the state of this one bit in PEI, the one PDCCH monitoring occasion group is indicated whether to be detected. To discuss clarity, this PEI associated with SBFD time unit is further discussed with reference to FIG. 7.

[0094] FIG. 7 illustrates another example paging early indication (PEI) associated with on the SBFD time unit according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0095] As mentioned above, a specific PEI field (in DCI) associated with SBFD slots may be designed and used to indicate whether one or multiple PO on SBFD symbols / slots should be detected or not. The PDCCH monitoring occasions in a PO are divided into multiple groups, and each group relates to one bit in the specific PEI. For example, based on the PO index in the SBFD slot and PDCCH monitoring group index, the terminal device 110 may determine the corresponding bit for each PDCCH monitoring group in each PO on SBFD slots.

[0096] As shown in FIG. 7, the PDCCH monitoring occasion groups on the SBFD time symbols are numbered as groups #0, #1, #2, #3. These PDCCH monitoring occasion groups are numbered independently from the PDCCH occasion groups on the non-SBFD symbols (which are not shown) . In an example, if the PEI field is “0101” , it means that the terminal device 110 needs to detect the control information during the PDCCH occasion groups #1 and #3. The terminal device 110 does not need to detect the control information during the other PDCCH occasion groups #0 and #2.

[0097] In addition or alternatively, the POs (or their PDCCH monitoring occasions) on the SBFD time unit (s) and non-SBFD time unit (s) may be numbered commonly / unified. For example, the first plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups and the second plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups may be numbered commonly, and / or the third PO and the fourth PO may be numbered commonly. In this case, in some embodiments, one bit of the PEI may correspond to one PDCCH monitoring occasion among the first plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups and the second plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups.

[0098] Accordingly, the terminal device 110 may determine, based on one bit of the PEI, whether to detect the control information during a PDCCH monitoring occasion group in the first plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups and the second plurality of PDCCH monitoring occasion groups.

[0099] In this way, PO (s) on SBFD symbols / slots and non-SBFD slots are commonly / unified numbered, and no additional paging indication field are added in the DCI being of format 2_7. The PEI (in DCI) may indicate whether one or multiple POs on SBFD symbols / slots and non-SBFD symbols need to be detected. The PDCCH monitoring  occasions on a PO on SBFD slots and non-SBFD slots may be divided into multiple groups, and each group relates to a bit in the PEI. In turn, based on the PO index on the SBFD time unit (s) and the PDCCH monitoring occasion group index, the terminal device 110 may determine the bit for each PDCCH monitoring group in each PO. To discuss clarity, this PEI associated with SBFD time unit may be further discussed with reference to FIG. 8.

[0100] FIG. 8 illustrates a further example paging early indication (PEI) associated with on the SBFD time unit according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0101] As shown in FIG. 8, the PDCCH monitoring occasion groups on the SBFD time symbols and non-SBFD symbols are numbered as groups #0, #1, #2, #3. These PDCCH monitoring occasion groups are numbered commonly / unified. In an example, if the PEI field is “1101” , it means that the terminal device 110 needs to detect the control information during the PDCCH occasion groups #0, #1 in PO 1 and PDCCH monitoring occasion #3 in PO 2. The terminal device 110 does not need to detect the control information during the other PDCCH occasion group #2 in PO2.

[0102] Referring back to FIG. 2, in view of the above, the terminal device may appropriately determine to: i) detect control information during one or more of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions that overlaps with the SBFD time unit, and / or ii) the UL transmission on the SBFD time unit. In turn, the network device 120 determines (240) whether to transmit control information during one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions in the same way as mentioned above.

[0103] Then, the network device 120 performs (260) , based on the determination, at least one of: i) a transmission of control information during the one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions or ii) an uplink reception on the one or more SBFD time units. For example, the network device 120 may transmit the control information during the PDCCH monitoring occasions added for the SBFD time unit, and the added PDCCH monitoring occasions does not overlap with the UL transmission from the terminal device 110. In another example, the network device 120 may transmit the control information or receive the UL transmission on the SBFD time unit. In a further example, the network device 120 may determine whether to receive the UL transmission or transmit the control information based on a priority level information. In a yet example, the network device 120 may transmit, based on the PEI transmitted to the terminal device 110, control information during the corresponding PDCCH monitoring occasions or corresponding PDCCH monitoring occasion groups.

[0104] Accordingly, the terminal device 110 performs (250) , based on the same determination, at least one of: i) a detection of control information during the one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions or ii) an uplink transmission on the one or more SBFD time units.

[0105] In some embodiments, the control information transmitted during the determined one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions may schedule a paging message. The scheduled paging message does not overlap with an SBFD symbol. As such, the DCI scheduling can ensure that the paging message does not collide with SBFD symbols.

[0106] In some embodiments, the DCI may include a slot offset information that indicates an offset for determining a slot for the paging message. In addition or alternatively, the DCI may directly indicate that the slot for the paging message is a non-SBFD slot. In addition or alternatively, the DCI may include a time domain resource assignment bit field that indicates one or more non-SBFD symbols in the slot for the paging message. In this way, the DCI may schedule the paging message which does not overlap with an SBFD symbol. Without any limitation, the above embodiments may be also expressed below.

[0107] In view of the above, the collision between the PO configuration and the SBFD configuration can be handled.

[0108] FIG. 9 illustrates a flowchart of an example method 900 implemented at a terminal device according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. The method 900 can be implemented at the terminal device 110 shown in FIG. 1A. For the purpose of discussion,  the method 900 will be described with reference to FIG. 1A. It is to be understood that the method 900 may include additional acts not shown and / or may omit some shown acts, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0109] At 910, the terminal device 110 receives, from a network device, configuration information indicating a set of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring occasions. The set of PDCCH monitoring occasions at least partially overlaps with one or more subband full duplex (SBFD) time units. At 920, the terminal device 110 determines whether to detect control information during one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions of the set of PDCCH monitoring occasions. At 930, the terminal device 110 performs, based on the determination, at least one of: i) a detection of control information during the one or more PDCCH monitoring occasions or ii) an uplink transmission on the one or more SBFD time units.

[0110] In some embodiments, the configuration information indicates that: a first paging occasion (PO) overlapping with the one or more SBFD time units comprises a first number of PDCCH monitoring occasions, wherein the first number is greater than the number of PDCCH monitoring occasions in a second PO which does not overlap with an SBFD time unit.

[0111] In some embodiments, the configuration information is included in a PDCCH configuration, and the first number is determined based on a parameter dedicated to the SBFD time unit in the PDCCH configuration, and the parameter is disabled for the non-SBFD time unit.
