Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a height-adjustable desk according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] A variety of desks are known from the prior art, most of which have a fixed-height tabletop. The work materials are then arranged on the tabletop, and the user can perform their work at the desk. Furthermore, desks are known from the prior art whose worktop or tabletop can be adjusted in height, i.e., relative to the surface or floor of the room in which the desk is located. For adjusting the tabletop, screw or clamping mechanisms are known, for example, which require the clamping mechanism to be released to position the worktop at the desired height and then to be closed again. The clamping mechanisms are usually simple screws, which are used, for example, with extendable or telescopic table legs.Furthermore, height-adjustable desks are known from the state of the art, which are changed in height by means of an electric motor.
[0003] For example, a standing desk is known from CN207202474U, comprising a support and a panel, the support including two pairs of table legs. The upper end of the table legs is slidably connected to a turntable via a guide. The turntable is further connected to each table leg via horizontal reinforcing rods. The utility model discloses a standing desk that can be easily raised and lowered according to the user's height by adjusting the table legs via a turntable.
[0004] The AT 17997 U3 shows a height-adjustable desk comprising a tabletop with a work surface spaced away from the desk's base, the tabletop being mounted on a height-adjustable frame. The frame has two legs connected by a folding mechanism, allowing the tabletop to be adjusted between a maximum and minimum height relative to the desk's base. The folding mechanism includes an elastically extendable tension element that exerts a force on the mechanism, thus partially compensating for the desk's weight.
[0005] A disadvantage of previously known devices is that they are usually expensive, have a complex design, or, as in the case of simple clamping mechanisms, are difficult to adjust in height. Furthermore, most previously known height-adjustable desks are not suitable for children or elderly people, as adjusting the work surface usually requires considerable force, since the work surface must be held in position while the clamping mechanism is operated. Desks adjustable via an electric motor always require a nearby power outlet or other power source, which significantly limits their placement options.Height-adjustable desks known from current technology also tend to tip over or fold down, thus posing a safety risk, especially for children, or are simply unsuitable for them.
[0006] The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a height-adjustable desk that is easy to use, enables safe handling and can be used independently of external requirements such as power outlets.
[0007] This problem is solved in a desk according to the preamble of claim 1 with the characterizing features. According to the invention, the desk comprises an inner, first ring and a second sliding ring, which are arranged concentrically with each other in one plane, wherein the inner first ring is fixed to the desk and / or the frame, wherein the sliding ring rests with its inner circumference against the outer circumference of the first ring and is rotatably mounted on it relative to the first ring, wherein the sliding ring is connected to the folding mechanism via at least one rod, so that when the desk is adjusted to different heights, the sliding ring can be rotated into different positions via the rod, and wherein the locking mechanism is arranged on the sliding ring and the sliding ring can be fixed in different positions by means of the locking mechanism.
[0008] The desk's design, featuring a rotating mechanism, makes it easy and safe to use. The angle between the legs is reliably adjusted via the rods, ensuring stable positioning and height adjustment.
[0009] Particularly advantageous embodiments of the desk according to the invention are defined in more detail by the features of the dependent claims:
[0010] A preferred embodiment provides that the folding mechanism is designed as a scissor mechanism, wherein the table legs are pivotally connected to each other by a joint, wherein each table leg is slidably arranged at one end via a guide on the underside of the tabletop in the plane of the underside of the tabletop, wherein the sliding ring is connected to each table leg via a rod, wherein when the height of the desk is adjusted, the angle between the table legs can be changed via the rods and the rotation of the sliding ring. Due to the design of the table legs with the guides, the table legs are always adjusted together relative to the center of the desk, thus keeping the center of gravity of the table always in the center above the table legs. This allows for a particularly stable arrangement and prevents the tabletop from extending asymmetrically beyond a table leg, thus preventing the table from tipping over under heavy loads at the edge of the tabletop.
[0011] To make the locking mechanism easy to operate, it can be provided that the locking mechanism has an actuating unit with which the table legs can be fixed at different angles to each other, and wherein the locking mechanism can be released and re-fixed via the actuating unit.
[0012] Advantageously, the folding mechanism may have at least one elastic, in particular elastically stretchable, tension element arranged between the table legs, in particular in the area of the underside of the tabletop, which exerts a force on the folding mechanism, so that the weight of the desk can be partially, in particular completely, compensated by means of the tension element, wherein in particular the tension element is designed as a rubber rope, rubber band or tension spring.
[0013] The folding mechanism according to the invention, in combination with the elastic tension element, makes it easy to operate the folding mechanism and adjust the height of the desk or tabletop relative to the surface it is standing on. The tension elements assist in raising the worktop or extending the folding mechanism by contracting the mechanism or by tightening the elastic tension element. This exerts a force on the folding mechanism that at least partially compensates for the weight of the tabletop and frame, allowing even people with limited strength to easily adjust the desk's height. When the desk is lowered, the potential energy released during the lowering process is stored in the tension element, thus preventing the tabletop from falling or lowering too quickly. 21706
[0014] In order to easily apply the force of the pulling element to the table legs, it may be provided that the pulling element is arranged between the table legs, especially in the area of the underside of the tabletop.
[0015] It can be advantageous for the tensioning element to be designed as a rubber rope, rubber band or tension spring.
[0016] To prevent the desk from collapsing completely when the locking mechanism is activated, it can be designed with at least one stop to limit the range of motion of the folding mechanism. This also reduces the risk of injury and prevents, for example, children from being trapped under the collapsing desk.
[0017] A preferred and simple design of the stop is achieved by arranging the stop so that it can pivot towards the tabletop on the tabletop and / or the frame, wherein, when the table legs are in the plane of support, the stop is automatically folded into the plane of movement of the sliding ring by its weight, and the stop can be brought into contact with a retaining projection arranged on the outer circumference of the sliding ring, so that further adjustment of the tabletop towards the plane of support is prevented, and wherein, when the desk is rotated into the inverted position in which the tabletop lies under the table legs in the direction of gravity, the stop is automatically pivoted out of the path of the sliding ring by its weight, so that further rotation of the sliding ring is released and the desk can be completely folded.
[0018] A space-saving and secure design of the locking mechanism provides that the locking mechanism comprises a toothed ring section arranged on the outer circumference of the sliding ring and designed as tooth-like recesses, wherein the locking mechanism has an actuable retaining element which has teeth at its end formed opposite to the toothed ring section and is in tooth engagement with the toothed ring section, wherein when the locking mechanism is actuated, in particular via a lever mechanism, the retaining element can be disengaged from the tooth engagement and thus the folding mechanism can be adjusted, wherein the retaining element can be brought into tooth engagement in the direction of the toothed ring section in particular by means of a spring.
[0019] To prevent an actuation of the locking mechanism or the retaining element from causing an immediate change in the height of the desk, it can advantageously be provided 21706 that the retaining element can be moved into a locking position when a weight force is applied to the tabletop, so that when the lever mechanism is actuated the retaining element is held in engagement with the toothed section and a change in the height of the desk is prevented.
[0020] A preferred embodiment is provided in which the retaining element is pivotably arranged about a pivot axis in the plane of the sliding ring, wherein the retaining element has an elongated hole extending at a distance from the center point of the sliding element in which the pivot axis is arranged, wherein the retaining element has a release recess and the desk has a locking pin, wherein the locking pin bears against the outer circumference of the retaining element in the locked position and holds the retaining element in tooth engagement with the toothed ring section, and wherein the release recess is arranged in the direction of the elongated hole at a distance in front of the locking pin.so that when a force is applied to the tabletop against gravity, the retaining element with the sliding ring can be pulled along the elongated hole and the locking pin can be inserted into the release recess, and the retaining element can be adjusted out of the tooth engagement with the toothed ring section along the pivot axis when the lever mechanism is actuated.
[0021] It can be advantageous to have at least one of the table legs equipped with a number of casters, allowing the leg to roll freely on the surface when the folding mechanism is activated. By arranging one or more casters on one of the table legs, the leg can easily roll along the surface when the tabletop is raised or lowered, thus preventing potential damage to the floor and further reducing the effort required to adjust the desk's height.
[0022] Further advantages and embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the description and the accompanying drawings.
[0023] The invention is below schematically illustrated in the drawings using particularly advantageous, but not limiting, embodiments and is described by way of example with reference to the drawings.

[0026] Fig. 4 shows a top view of the desk according to Fig. 3.
[0027] Figures 5 and 6 show the desk in an intermediate position or at a lower tabletop height than in Figure 1, and
[0028] Figures 7 to 10 show detailed views of the locking mechanism.
[0029] Figures 11 and 12 show the actuating unit of the locking mechanism,
[0030] Figures 13 to 15 show the stop in different positions and
[0031] Figures 16 and 17 show views of the tension elements.
[0032] Figures 1 to 6 show a preferred embodiment of the desk 10 according to the invention in different positions or at different heights H. Figures 1, 3, and 5 each show a view of the desk 10 in its set-up position, i.e., a front view of the desk 10, for example, from the perspective of the user standing in front of the desk 10. Figures 2, 4, and 6 each show a top view with the tabletop 1 hidden. The desk 10 comprises a tabletop 1, which has a rectangular extent. The tabletop 1 forms the work surface 3 or work surface of the desk 10, on which the user's work materials are placed. The desk 10 has a frame 2 that is attached to the underside of the tabletop 1.The frame 2 comprises two table legs 4a, 4b, a first table leg 4a and a second table leg 4b, which are connected to each other via a folding mechanism 8. To provide the user with maximum space under the tabletop 1, the table legs 4a, 4b are preferably arranged along the edge of the tabletop 1 or the desk 10. The table legs 4a, 4b are L-shaped and extend at the end furthest from the tabletop 1 in the direction of the width of the tabletop 1. The table legs 4a, 4b, together with their L-shape, form the base of the desk 10 on the support surface. The desk 10 also has a locking mechanism 6 (Figs. 7 to 12) by which the folding mechanism 8 can be locked in different positions.
[0033] The folding mechanism 8 with the locking mechanism 6 allows the tabletop 1, as shown in Figs. 1, 3 and 5, to be positioned at different heights relative to the surface on which it is placed.
[0034] In the preferred embodiment of the desk 10 according to the invention, shown in Figures 1 to 6, the table legs 4a and 4b are connected to each other via a joint 5. The joint 5 is designed as a pivot joint, so that the angle α between the first table leg 4a and the second table leg 4b can be changed. The first table leg 4a and the second table leg 4b are each connected at one end to the frame 2 via a pivotable joint 15, the joint 15 being able to be moved along a guide 17 in the plane of the tabletop 1 with the end of the respective table leg 4a or 4b. Due to the arrangement of the table legs 4a and 4b with the pivot joint 15 on the tabletop 1 or the joint 5, they can be pivoted relative to the tabletop 1.
[0035] If the desk 10 is adjusted in height h, as shown in Figures 1, 3, and 5, or if the height h of the tabletop 1 relative to the support surface is changed, the angle α of the first table leg 4a to the second table leg 4b changes, and the end of each table leg 4a, 4b closest to the tabletop 1, or the pivoting joints 15, are moved along the guide 17, thereby changing the distance between the tabletop 1 and the support surface or the lower end of the table legs 4a, 4b. For example, if the angle α between the first table leg 4a and the second table leg 4b is increased, the end of the table legs 4b located at the tabletop 1 is moved further towards the edge of the tabletop 1, thus reducing the distance between the tabletop 1 and the support surface, or the height H (Figures 3, 5). If the tabletop 1 is raised, the angle a between the first table leg 4a and the second table leg 4b is then reduced or increased. The ends of the table legs 4a, 4b, or the joint 15, located in the area of the tabletop 1, are adjusted towards the center of the tabletop 1 along the guide 17, and the height H of the work surface 3, or of the tabletop 1, increases (Figs. 3-6). The tabletop 1, or the desk 10, can therefore be adjusted almost continuously from a position in which it is almost completely folded (Fig. 3) through a middle position (Fig. 5) to an extended position (Fig. 1).
[0036] The desk 10 has a rotary mechanism for adjusting the table legs 4a, 4b. The rotary mechanism comprises a first ring 20 and a second sliding ring 30, which are arranged concentrically to each other in a common plane below the tabletop 1. The sliding ring 30 has a larger diameter than the first ring 20, with its inner circumference bearing against the outer circumference of the first ring 20. The first ring 20 is fixedly connected to and held in place by the frame 2 of the desk 10. The sliding ring 30 is rotatably mounted on the inner circumference of the first ring 20. The sliding ring 30 can therefore be rotated around the common axis of the sliding ring 30 and the first ring 20, relative to the outer circumference of the first ring 20. The ring 20 is fixed to the frame 2, i.e., the desk, by several screws distributed around its circumference. The sliding ring 30 is supported by several guides 25 distributed around the circumference of the first ring 20, which prevent the sliding ring 30 from slipping. The guides 25 extend from the first ring 20 over an end face section of the sliding ring 30 (Fig. 1).
[0037] The sliding ring 30 is connected to the folding mechanism 8 via two rods 40. Each rod 40 extends from the sliding ring 30 to the guides 17 of the two table legs 4a and 4b. The rods 40 are arranged on the sliding ring 30 at two opposite points on the same radius of the sliding ring 30 and can be rotated relative to it. If the angle α between the first table leg 4a and the second table leg 4b is changed, a force is exerted on the sliding ring 30 via the rods 40, causing it to rotate relative to the first ring 20.
[0038] The locking mechanism 6 is arranged on the outer circumference of the sliding ring 30, with which the rotation of the sliding ring 30 is prevented or released.
[0039] When the locking mechanism 6 is actuated, the tabletop 1 can be raised or lowered, thus changing its height H or the distance of the work surface 3 from the floor or the support surface. When the height H is changed, the angle α between the first table leg 4a and the second table leg 4b also changes, and via the guides 17, the distance between the two joints 15 of the table legs 4a, 4b also changes. If the distance between the joints 15 of the table legs 4a, 4b decreases, the sliding ring 30 is rotated clockwise relative to the first ring 20 via the rods 40 until the locking mechanism 6 is released or actuated again, thus preventing the rotation of the sliding ring 30. The locking mechanism prevents or releases the rotation of the sliding ring 30, thus enabling easy adjustment and fixing of the angle α between the first table leg 4a and the second table leg 4b.
[0040] The sliding ring 30 has a circumferential section on its outer circumference, which is designed as a toothed ring section 32 and has outwardly facing, tooth-like recesses (Figs. 7 to 10). The locking mechanism 6 comprises an L-shaped retaining element 13, which is arranged in the same plane as the sliding ring 30 and is attached to the frame 2. The retaining element 13 has teeth 39 at one end that are opposite to the toothed ring section 32 and engage with the toothed ring section 32.
[0041] The locking mechanism 6 comprises an actuating unit to which a lever mechanism 14 is attached (Figs. 11, 12). When the lever 41 of the lever mechanism 14 is actuated, i.e., in this embodiment 21706, pulled towards the tabletop 1, a spring 42 is tensioned. The spring 42 is attached to the retaining element 13 and pulls it out of the tooth engagement with the sliding ring 30 or the toothed section 32 (Figs. 7 and 8). When the teeth 39 of the retaining element 13 disengage from the toothed section 32, the desk 10 can be adjusted in height H. When the lever 41 is released again, the spring 42 repositions the retaining element 13 back towards the sliding ring 30 and the teeth 39 of the retaining element 13 re-engage in the nearest possible tooth gap of the gear ring section 32 and the locking mechanism 6 is engaged and holds the desk 10 at the desired height H (Fig 12).
[0042] In a preferred, optional embodiment, the locking mechanism 6 has a load-dependent lock. Depending on whether a weight or force is placed on or acting towards the floor or the mounting surface, the lever mechanism 14 or the lever 41 cannot be actuated, or its actuation does not cause the retaining element 13 to disengage from the toothed section 32 of the sliding ring 30.
[0043] The retaining element 13 is pivotably arranged about a pivot axis 35 in the plane of the sliding ring 30. The retaining element 13 has an elongated hole 36 extending at a distance from the center point of the sliding element 30, in which the pivot axis
[0044] The retaining element 13 follows the movement of the sliding element 30 through the elongated hole 36 over a small circumferential section and can thus be moved through the elongated hole.
[0045] 36 slightly change its position in the circumferential direction of the sliding element 30. The desk 10 or the frame 2 has a locking pin 38, which is arranged in the area of the retaining element 13. The locking pin 38 rests against the outer circumference of the retaining element 13 and guides it during movement when this movement is carried along by the sliding ring 30. The retaining element 13 includes a release recess 37, which is arranged around the circumference of the retaining element 13 in the area of the locking pin 38.
[0046] If the tabletop 1 is pressed towards the floor, for example by a force from an object placed on the tabletop 1 or a child leaning on or standing on the tabletop 1, the angle α between the first table leg 4a and the second table leg 4b is slightly increased via the mechanical arrangement of the desk 10, and the sliding ring 30 is rotated clockwise via the rods 40. As the sliding ring 30 rotates, the retaining element 13 is carried a short distance along the circumference of the sliding ring 30 in the elongated hole 36 until it abuts the pivot axis 35, represented by a nut in Figures 7 to 10. Due to the adjustment of the retaining element 13 in the elongated hole 36, the locking pin 38 is positioned at the 21706
[0047] The locking pin 38 restricts the circumference of the retaining element 13 and prevents it from disengaging from the toothed section 32 (Fig. 9). The locking pin 38 thus blocks the pivoting movement of the retaining element 13 about the pivot axis 35. When the lever 41 is pulled in this position, the locked position, the locking pin 38 prevents the retaining element 13 from disengaging from the toothed section, thus preventing the locking mechanism 6 from being actuated and preventing any change in the height H of the desk 10. This is primarily for safety and is intended to prevent children from unintentionally or accidentally actuating the locking mechanism 6 and causing the desk 10 to suddenly change its height H.
[0048] When the load or force is removed from the tabletop 1 and the tabletop 1 is slightly lifted, the sliding ring 30 is rotated slightly counterclockwise, and the retaining element 13 is pulled along the elongated slot 36 with it. When the retaining element 13 reaches the end of the elongated slot 36, it is slightly rotated with the sliding ring 30, and the locking pin 38 is brought into alignment with the release recess 37 of the retaining element 13. If the lever 41 or the locking mechanism 6 is then actuated, the retaining element 13, with its release recess 37, can slide over the locking pin 38 and thus disengage from the toothed engagement with the sliding ring 30 and its toothed section 32. The rotation of the sliding ring 30 relative to the first ring 20 is then possible again and the desk 10 can again change the angle a between the table legs 4a, 4b via the rods 40 and be adjusted in its height H.
[0049] To prevent the desk 36 from jerking, the length of the elongated hole 36 is as small as possible, but is coordinated with the size of the locking pin 38 and the arrangement of the release recess 37.
[0050] In a preferred optional embodiment, the desk 10 has a stop 11 that limits the downward adjustment of the height H of the tabletop 1 and thus restricts the free range of motion of the folding mechanism 8. As shown by way of example in FIGS. 13 to 15, the stop 11 is arranged in the direction of the tabletop 1 above the sliding ring 30 and is attached to the frame 2 or the tabletop. The stop 11 is pivotably mounted on the tabletop 1 or the frame 2 via a hinge 21 in the direction of the sliding ring 30, i.e., in the direction of gravity. The pivot axis of the hinge 21 is parallel to the tabletop 1. When the desk 10 is placed on the support surface, the stop 11 falls towards the floor into the plane of movement of the sliding ring 30 due to its weight. When the desk 10 is then lowered, a retaining extension 22, which is located on the outer circumference of the 21706
[0051] The sliding ring 30 protrudes and abuts the stop 11 (Fig. 6). The stop 11 prevents further rotation of the sliding ring 30 and thus lowering of the desk 10, or rather, it defines a minimum height H to which the desk 10 can be lowered. When the desk 10 is then turned over so that the desk 10 is flush with the tabletop...
[0052] When the tabletop 1 rests on the floor, i.e., when the tabletop 1 is located under the frame 2 or the folding mechanism 8, the stop 11 falls below the plane of the sliding ring 30 in the direction of gravity, towards the tabletop 1, and thus out of the space of the retaining extension 22. With further rotation of the sliding ring 30, or when the table legs 4a, 4b are pressed towards the tabletop 1, the retaining extension 22 can then move over the stop 11, and the sliding ring 30 can be rotated further until the table legs 4a, 4b are in contact with the tabletop 1, or the desk 10 is completely folded (Figs. 13 to 15). This prevents the desk 10 from unintentionally collapsing completely and damaging any objects lying underneath it or crushing body parts.Alternatively, two or more stops 11 together with associated retaining extensions 22 can be arranged along the circumference of the sliding ring 30 in order to distribute the compressive forces to be absorbed among themselves and evenly into the table top 1 or the frame in the event of use.
[0053] 2 to lead.
[0054] As shown in Figures 2 to 15, the stop 11 can be designed as an elongated, essentially triangular pivoting element. Alternatively, as preferably shown in Figure 13, two stops 11 can be provided, each offset by 180° with respect to the sliding ring 30.
[0055] Alternatively, other forms, designs and arrangements of the stop 11 are also possible, as long as it is suitable to automatically immerse itself in the direction of movement of the sliding ring 30 by gravity and to exit from it again depending on the position of the desk 10, as described.
[0056] Optionally, the desk 10 can also have a height stop that limits its maximum height. As shown in Fig. 13, the sliding ring 20 can, for example, have a height stop extension 28, which then abuts either the stop 11 or other elements of the frame 2 when the desk is adjusted to a maximum height at which, for example, the stability of the desk 10 can no longer be reliably guaranteed. In the optional embodiment of Fig. 13, the height stop extension 28 abuts a height limiting edge 27 of the stop 11, as shown in Fig. 2. 21706
[0057] As shown in Figures 16 and 17, the desk 10, or the folding mechanism 8, has a number of tension elements 9 that are stretched between the pivot point of the first table leg 4a, or its swivel joint 15, and the attachment of the second table leg 4b, or its swivel joint 15, to the guide 17. The tension elements 9, in this embodiment elastically stretchable rubber cords, cause a force to be exerted between the ends of the table legs 4a and 4b located in the area of the tabletop 1, so that they are pulled towards each other. This means, for example, that when the desk 10 is lowered (Figures 5 and 6), potential energy is stored in the tension elements 9, thereby compensating for the weight of the desk 10, or the tabletop 1, and parts of the frame 2. The compensation of the weight force prevents the desk 10 from simply collapsing when the locking mechanism 6 is activated. This arrangement of the tension elements 9 allows the tabletop 1 to be lowered easily and with minimal effort, or positioned at the desired height H. However, when the desk 10 is raised in height H, or when the distance between the tabletop 1 and the support surface is increased, the potential energy stored in the tension elements 9 is released, assisting the user in raising the tabletop 1 to a higher position or height H. The arrangement of the tension elements 9 according to the invention thus allows the tabletop 1 to be easily adjusted in height H relative to the support surface with minimal effort, without the need for actuators such as electric motors.
[0058] As an alternative to the embodiment shown in Figs. 16 and 17, the tension elements 9 can also be arranged at other locations on the desk 10, as long as they exert a force between the table legs or between the first table leg 4a and the second table leg 4b, which assists the user in adjusting the desk 10.
[0059] As an alternative to the embodiments shown in Figures 6 and 17, the tension elements 9 can also be designed, for example, by rubber bands, spring elements, or springs. It is also possible that only one tension element 9 is provided, which is designed according to the weight and size of the tabletop 1 and the frame 2.
