DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGSFigure 1 depicts the cleansing of skin, as demonstrated from administering acomposition comprising 1-perflurohexyloctane (F6H8) to the skin of a minipig; with left showing untreated area, and right showing the area that was effectively treated with 1-perflurohexyloctane (F6H8). DETAILED DESCRIPTIONThe present disclosure relates to, in a first aspect, the use of a liquid compositioncomprising a semifluorinated alkane to cleanse skin, wherein the semifluorinated alkane is of the formula F(CF2)n(CH2)mH, wherein n is an integer selected from 4 to 8, and m is an integer selected from 2 to 10. Semifluorinated alkanes are linear or branched alkanes where some of the hydrogen atoms are replaced by fluorine atoms having the chemical formula F(CF2)n(CH2)mH, wherein n and m are integers defining the number of carbons in the perfluorinatedhydrocarbon segment and non-fluorinated hydrocarbon segment, respectively. Thesemifluorinated alkane comprised in compositions according to the present disclosure is a semifluorinated alkane of formula F(CF2)n(CH2)mH, wherein n is an integer selected from 4 to 8 and m is an integer selected from 2 to 10. In other embodiments, the semifluorinated alkane is a semifluorinated alkane of formula F(CF2)n(CH2)mH, wherein n is an integer selected from 4 to 6 and m is an integer selected from 4 to 8. In a preferred embodiment, the semifluorinated alkanes used in the context of the present disclosure are preferably liquid at room temperature. A nomenclature which is also frequently used for linear semifluorinated alkanes designates the perfluorinated hydrocarbon segment as Fn and a non-fluorinated segment as Hm, i.e. FnHm, wherein F means a perfluorinated hydrocarbon segment, H means a non-fluorinated segment, and n and m define the number of carbon atoms of the respective segment. For example, F3H3 is used for perfluoropropylpropane, F(CF2)3(CH2)3H. This type of nomenclature is usually used for compounds having linear i.e. unbranched segments. Therefore, unless otherwise indicated, it should be assumed that F3H3 means 1-perfluoropropylpropane, rather than its structural isomers e.g. branched isomers such as 2-perfluoropropylpropane, 1- perfluoroisopropylpropane or 2-perfluoroisopropylpropane.In some embodiments of the composition, or composition used in the context of thepresent disclosure, the semifluorinated alkane is selected from F(CF2)4(CH2)5H(F4H5), F(CF2)4(CH2)6H (F4H6), F(CF2)4(CH2)8H (F4H8), F(CF2)4(CH2)10H (F4H10),F(CF2)6(CH2)6H (F6H6), F(CF2)6(CH2)8H (F6H8), and F(CF2)6(CH2)10H (F6H10). Keratolytic agents improve the appearance of the skin, minimizes dandruff, and also help other topical medications to penetrate the skin better. Typicalkeratolytic agents include alpha-hydroxy acids (e.g. citric acid; glycolic acid, hydroxycaprylic acid, hydroxycapric acid, lactic acid, malic acid, mandelic acid, phyticacid, tartaric acid), beta-hydroxy acids (e.g. salicylic acid, sodium salicylate), azelaicacid, urea, allantoin, trichloroacetic acid, resorcinol, retinoids (e.g. retinoic acidacitretin, adapalene, tretinoin, isotretinoin, motretinide, tazarotene) benzoyl peroxide. Surprisingly, is was found that the compositions of the present disclosure show keratolytic properties and can be used as keratolytic agents, preferably in lieu of, or in the absence of keratolytic agents, such as described above, e.g. water soluble keratolytic compounds, such as water soluble acids, or compounds selected from thegroup consisting of alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, azelaic acid, urea, allantoin, trichloroacetic acid, resorcinol, retinoids and peroxides. Preferably, thecompositions of the present disclosure are water-free, keratolytic compositions. Saidcompositions may be used, for example, to break down, or disassemble keratinstructures or layers of the skin, or assist in the break down or disassembly of keratinic structures or layers of the skin, in particular in hyperkeratinized areas ofthe skin such as psoriatic plaques, or in skin affected by hyperkeratosis.. In someembodiments, the compositions are water-free keratolytic compositions which maybe used to treat pathological cornification disorders of the skin, or hyperkeratosis ofthe skin, for example psoriasis, psoriatic plaques, acne, or eczema or of the follicles ofthe skin, such as keratosis pilaris.Excipients such as oxidants, alpha- or beta-hydroxy acids, polar solvents such asalcohols, surfactants, or the preservatives such as noted above are frequently found inskin cleanser products, or other products formulated for, or suitable for topicalapplication to the skin, but may have an effect of, for example: irritating or drying out the skin, causing damage to the skin barrier over a period of long term use, or damaging / disrupting the natural skin microbiome. The compositions of the present disclosure may be used to cleanse skin effectively while avoiding at least some these potential adverse effects on the skin. The liquid compositions as described herein and for use according to the presentdisclosure are preferably solutions. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 depicts the results of in-vivo topical cleansing treatment with 1- perfluorohexyloctane as described in Example 1 with respect to the skin of a minipig. The right side of the photo depicts a ‘treated area’ i.e. to which 1- perfluorohexyloctane has been applied as described in Example 1, with the skin beinguncoloured and clear. The left side of the photo of Figure 1 depicts as a comparison,an untreated area of the skin. Brown-coloured spots are featured on the untreatedskin. EXAMPLES Example 1: Cleansing of skinA minipig was treated in-vivo, topically twice daily on the back with 10g(corresponding to 7.46 mL) of liquid 1-perfluorohexyloctane (F6H8), which wasdistributed over an area of 1000 cm2. Prior to the treatment, the skin at the treatmentsite comprised of visible, brown-coloured spots that may be attributable to shedkeratin accumulated in the pores / glands over time or intra-follicular contamination. The daily treatment of a sample area of skin directly adjacent to an untreated area forcomparison demonstrated after 28 days of treatment, that the topical application of 1-perfluorohexyloctane to the targeted treatment area of the skin resulted in clear, uncoloured skin with substantial removal of the brown-coloured spots from this areaof skin, as shown in Figure 1. In contrast, the brown-coloured spots remained onuntreated skin. Example 2: Preparation of CompositionsThe following compositions of ß-caryophyllene, (-)-alpha-bisabolol, guaiazulene, chamomile oil in F4H5 or F6H8 were prepared by mixing (or dissolving)theserespectively in the specified semifluorinated alkane, or in the liquid vehiclecomprising the specified semifluorinated alkane and liquid excipient (which is fullymiscible with the semifluorinated alkane) to obtain a solution at room temperature.Table 1 - Beta-caryophyllene compositions:Semifluorinated alkane β-Caryophyllene Conc. (mg / ml) F4H5 5.0, 2.0, 1.0, 0.5, 0.2, 0.1F6H8 5.0, 2.0, 1.0, 0.5, 0.2, 0.1Table 2 - (-)-alpha-bisabolol compositions:Semifluorinated alkane (-)-alpha-bisabolol Conc. (mg / ml) F6H8 15, 10, 5, 2.5, 1, 0.5F6H8 + 2-propanol (90:10) 25, 20, 15, 10, 5, 2, 1, 0.5Table 3 - Guaiazulene compositions:Semifluorinated alkane Guaiazulene Conc. (mg / ml) F6H8 5, 4, 3, 2.5, 2, 1, 0.5F6H8 + 2-propanol (90:10) 8, 5, 3, 2.5, 2, 1, 0.5Table 4 - Chamomile oil compositions:Semifluorinated alkane Chamomile Conc. (mg / ml)F6H8 10, 5, 2.5, 2, 1.5, 1, 0.5F6H8 + medium chain triglycerides (95:5 by volume)10, 5, 2.5, 1, 0.5Example 3: Keratolytic effectIn a human psoriasis study, psoriatic plaques, which comprise of, or arehyperkeratinized areas of the skin of psoriasis patients were treated twice daily with20µl F6H8 per 10cm2. After a period of one to two weeks of treatment, it wasobserved that a white layer of scale-like flakes comprising of dead keratin cells wasformed on the surface of the psoriatic plaques. This process of increased scaling (e.g.as determined by standard scale assessment methods in the art, which may forexample be based on visual observation and / or touch by a trained dermatologist) onthe surface of the plaques was observed over a treatment period of about 22 days.Afterwards, this white layer of dead keratin cells detached from the skin surface, leading to an overall decrease in the layer thickness of the psoriatic plaques. This clearly demonstrated that a composition comprising F6H8, applied for use in apathological cornification disorder (hyperkeratosis) of the skin, such as psoriasis, may have beneficial effect, e.g. by effectively removing, or causing removal ordetachment of excess keratin from the surface of the skin and / or from the psoriaticplaque.Example 4 : Removal of lipophilic cosmetic products from the skinA composition essentially consisting of 1-perpfluorohexyloctane is capable ofeffectively removing lipophilic cosmetic products from the skin, in particular thecomposition is suitable as a cleansing agent for cosmetic applications involving long- wearing or waterproof formulations. The performance of composition essentially consisting of 1-perpfluorohexyloctane(CP1) was tested for its capability to remove lipophilic cosmetic products from the skin against 2 commercially available reference compositions, namely Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (CP2) and Isana Cleansing Oil (CP3). Three different types of lipophilic cosmetic products were selected for testing: a long-lasting lipstick, a waterproof mascara, and a high-coverage foundation. The test procedure involvedapplying the cosmetic products to a defined area of the skin (or forearm), followed bywiping with a cotton pad soaked in the respective cleansing product (CP1, CP2, CP3).The number of wiping motions required to fully remove the cosmetic was recorded. Test 1: Removal of a long-lasting lipstick (Maybelline SuperStay) CP1 was able to completely remove the lipstick after three wiping motions. Incontrast, CP2 required more than five wipes and still left visible residues. CP3achieved full removal after three wipes, comparable to CP1. Test 2: Removal of mascara (Lash Like a Boss) All three cleansing products (CP1, CP2, CP3) were able to remove the mascara after two wiping motions. In this case, the performance of CP1 was equivalent tothat of the reference products CP2 and CP3.Test 3: Removal of foundation (Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear) The cleansing product CP1 removed the foundation effectively with just two wipes. CP2 required three wipes, while CP3 needed as many as five wipes to achieve fullremoval. This indicates a notably superior performance of CP1 of the presentdisclosure, especially in handling high-coverage makeup formulations. These results clearly demonstrate that cleansing product CP1 of the presentdisclosure exhibits excellent efficacy in cleansing the skin of lipophilic cosmeticproducts. Compared to well-established commercial cleansing products (such as C2,Cp3), it performed equally well or better, particularly in the removal of stubborn makeup such as long-lasting lipstick and full-coverage foundation. Due to its highlipophilic cleansing power, CP1 is particularly well-suited for use in cosmeticremovers and facial cleansers targeting waterproof or long-wear makeup.
