[0046] According to the study of the present inventors, the viscosity of the cleansing composition can be adjusted by adjusting the content of ascorbic acid and / or ascorbic acid salt. From the viewpoint of increasing the viscosity of the cleansing composition, the content of ascorbic acid and / or ascorbic acid salt may be 0.1 mass% or more, 0.5 mass% or more, 0.8 mass% or more, 1 mass% or more, 1.5 mass% or more, or 2 mass% or more based on the total mass of the cleansing composition.By increasing the viscosity of the cleansing composition, the composition becomes easier to handle and can be more easily handled during use.The content of ascorbic acid and / or ascorbic acid salt may be, for example, 5 mass% or less, or 3.5 mass% or less based on the total mass of the cleansing composition.
[0047] Examples of proteolytic enzymes include papain, protease, and lipase. The proteolytic enzyme may be one or more selected from the group consisting of papain, protease, and lipase.
[0048] The content of component (E) may be 0.1% by mass or more, 0.5% by mass or more, or 0.8% by mass or more, based on the total mass of the cleansing composition, and may be 15% by mass or less, 10% by mass or less, 7% by mass or less, or 5% by mass or less.
[0049] The cleansing composition may further contain a nonionic surfactant (F) (hereinafter simply referred to as "component (F)") other than the above components (A-1) and (A-2) and having an HLB of 7 to 12. In this case, the stability of the cleansing composition (particularly, stability at high temperatures such as 60°C and stability at low temperatures such as 4°C) tends to be further improved. Note that component (F) excludes the above-mentioned component (D).
[0050] Examples of component (F) include polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oils with an HLB of 7 to 12, such as PEG-10 hydrogenated castor oil (HLB=7), PEG-20 hydrogenated castor oil (HLB=9), PEG-30 hydrogenated castor oil (HLB=11), and PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil (HLB=12); PEG-5-glyceryl isostearate (HLB=8), PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate (HLB=8), PEG- trioleate (HLB=10), and PEG- Examples of the component (F) include polyoxyethylene glyceryl fatty acid esters having an HLB of 7 to 12, such as PEG-20 glyceryl (HLB=8) and PEG-40 glyceryl triisostearate (HLB=11); polyoxyethylene; and polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers having an HLB of 7 to 12, such as ceteth-5 (HLB=9), ceteth-10 (HLB=13), steareth-5 (HLB=9), and steareth-11 (HLB=13). Component (F) is preferably polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil having an HLB of 7 to 12 and / or polyoxyethylene glycerin fatty acid ester having an HLB of 7 to 12, and more preferably polyoxyethylene glycerin fatty acid ester having an HLB of 7 to 12.
[0051] The content of component (F) may be 0.1 mass% or more, 0.3 mass% or more, 0.4 mass% or more, or 0.5 mass% or more, based on the total mass of the cleansing composition. From the viewpoint of suppressing a decrease in viscosity of the cleansing composition, the content of component (F) is preferably 10 mass% or less, more preferably 7 mass% or less, even more preferably 5 mass% or less, and particularly preferably 4 mass% or less, based on the total mass of the cleansing composition.
[0052] From the viewpoint of achieving superior stability of the cleansing composition, the mass ratio of the content of the (F) component to the content of the (A) component (content of the (F) component / content of the (A) component) is preferably 0.01 or more, more preferably 0.02 or more, even more preferably 0.03 or more, and most preferably 0.04 or more. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of making it easier to increase the viscosity of the cleansing composition, the mass ratio of the content of the (F) component to the content of the (A) component is preferably 1 or less, more preferably 0.8 or less, even more preferably 0.6 or less, and most preferably 0.5 or less.
[0053] The cleansing composition may contain surfactants other than the above-mentioned components (A-1), (A-2), (D), and (F). Examples of such surfactants include glycerin fatty acid esters such as glyceryl stearate, glyceryl isostearate, and glyceryl oleate; sorbitan fatty acid esters such as sorbitan stearate, sorbitan isostearate, sorbitan oleate, sorbitan diisostearate, and sorbitan triisostearate; silicone surfactants such as PEG-10 dimethicone, PEG-9 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, lauryl PEG-9 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, cetyl PEG / PPG-10 / 1 dimethicone, and polyglyceryl-3 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone; and polymer surfactants such as PEG-30 dipolyhydroxystearate. It is preferred that the cleansing composition does not contain silicone surfactants and / or polymer surfactants. From the viewpoint of rinsing performance, the content of the other surfactants is preferably 10% by mass or less, 7% by mass or less, 5% by mass or less, or 3% by mass or less.
[0054] The cleansing composition may contain other ingredients.Examples of other ingredients include preservatives such as phenoxyethanol, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, methylparaben, ethylparaben, butylparaben, sodium benzoate, etc.; preservative aids such as caprylhydroxamic acid, ethylhexylglycerin, etc.; waxes such as paraffin wax, microcrystalline wax, rice bran wax, sunflower seed wax, beeswax, etc.; paste oils such as (hydroxystearic acid / stearic acid / dimer acid) decaglyceryl, dimer dilinoleate (phytosteryl / isostearyl / cetyl / stearyl / behenyl), dimer dilinoleyl bis(behenyl / isostearyl / phytosteryl), macadamia nut fatty acid phytosteryl, petrolatum, etc.; oil-soluble active ingredients such as azelaic acid, stearyl glycyrrhetinate, etc. The content of other components may be 10% by mass or less, 5% by mass or less, 3% by mass or less, or 1% by mass or less.
[0055] The cleansing composition may be emulsion or microemulsion.Example of emulsion includes water-in-oil emulsion (for example, water-in-oil nanoemulsion). The microemulsion may be, for example, a micellar solution, or may be a microemulsion having a bicontinuous structure. In addition, the cleansing composition may have a liquid crystal structure.
[0056] The cleansing composition is preferably a water-in-oil nanoemulsion, a micellar solution, or a microemulsion having a bicontinuous structure, and more preferably a water-in-oil nanoemulsion or a microemulsion having a bicontinuous structure.
[0057] As used herein, nanoemulsion refers to an emulsion containing a large number of emulsified particles (e.g., water droplets) with particle sizes on the order of several hundred nanometers. While the appearance of a water-in-oil emulsion is white to slightly cloudy white, the appearance of a water-in-oil nanoemulsion is a transparent blue. A state in which a large number of oil droplets on the order of several hundred nanometers are present, resulting in a transparent blue appearance, is considered a water-in-oil nanoemulsion, even if some of the oil droplets are on the order of several microns to several tens of microns. The average particle size of the oil droplets in a water-in-oil nanoemulsion is preferably 2 μm or less, more preferably 1 μm or less, preferably 900 nm or less, even more preferably 800 nm or less, and particularly preferably 700 nm or less. The average particle size of the oil droplets in a water-in-oil nanoemulsion is preferably 20 nm or more, more preferably 40 nm or more, even more preferably 70 nm or more, and most preferably 100 nm or more. In a water-in-oil nanoemulsion, water or a water-soluble component is dispersed in oil. For example, when a liquid oil-soluble component in which an oil-soluble dye has been dissolved or a liquid water-soluble component in which a water-soluble dye has been dissolved is dropped and allowed to stand, if the viscosity of the composition is such that the dye can be diffused, the oil-soluble dye will diffuse throughout the system, but the water-soluble dye will hardly diffuse at all. A water-in-oil nanoemulsion can be confirmed, for example, by the absence of optical anisotropy observed under a polarizing microscope. It can also be confirmed by observation with an electron microscope such as a cryo-SEM or FF-TEM.
[0058] The cleansing composition has excellent rinsing properties because it contains component (A), which is a surfactant with a relatively high HLB, and optionally component (D). The reason why the cleansing composition forms a stable water-in-oil emulsion (e.g., a water-in-oil nanoemulsion) using components (A) and (D), which are surfactants with a relatively high HLB, rather than a surfactant with a low HLB (e.g., an HLB of about 3 to 6) that is generally used in the preparation of water-in-oil emulsions, is thought to be because the hydrophobicity of the surfactants in components (A) and (D) changes due to the dehydration effect of component (B), etc.
[0059] In this specification, a micellar solution refers to a solution that is transparent in appearance and does not exhibit a blue color like a nanoemulsion. The average particle size of the micellar particles may be less than 100 nm, preferably 1 nm or more, more preferably 3 nm or more, and even more preferably 5 nm or more.
[0060] In this specification, the average particle size of emulsified particles and the average particle size of micellar particles refer to the average particle size (cumulant size) calculated by the cumulant method from the autocorrelation function measured by dynamic light scattering at atmospheric pressure and 25° C. The viscosity and refractive index of the dispersion medium in the dynamic light scattering method may be set appropriately, and for example, the viscosity and refractive index of the main component of the liquid oil component may be used.
[0061] As used herein, a microemulsion having a bicontinuous structure refers to a state in which both the oil phase and the aqueous phase (even if the phase does not contain water, the phase composed of water-soluble components is considered to be the aqueous phase) are continuous phases. The external color of the microemulsion can be either blue-transparent or transparent. Since both phases are continuous in a bicontinuous structure, for example, when a liquid oil-soluble component dissolving an oil-soluble dye or a liquid water-soluble component dissolving a water-soluble dye is dropped and allowed to stand, both dyes will diffuse throughout the system if the viscosity of the composition is such that the dyes can diffuse. A bicontinuous structure can be confirmed, for example, by the absence of optical anisotropy observed under a polarizing microscope. It can also be confirmed by observation with an electron microscope such as a cryo-SEM or FF-TEM.
[0062] In this specification, a cleansing composition having a liquid crystal structure means that the cleansing composition has a liquid crystal structure as a whole when left standing. If the cleansing composition forms a liquid crystal structure only temporarily due to flow or the like, it is not considered to have a liquid crystal structure. Since a liquid crystal structure exhibits a unique optical property called optical anisotropy, if it is confirmed that the cleansing composition has optical anisotropy as a whole when observed under a polarizing microscope in a stationary state, it can be said that the cleansing composition has a liquid crystal structure such as a lamellar structure.
[0063] The cleansing composition does not need to have a liquid crystal structure. If the cleansing composition does not have a liquid crystal structure, it is less likely to undergo phase transition even when subjected to temperature changes, and tends to have better stability under low or high temperature environments. In addition, the cleansing composition can have a relatively high viscosity even if it does not have a liquid crystal structure.
[0064] The cleansing composition according to one embodiment has a relatively high viscosity, which can provide good usability. The viscosity of the cleansing composition is preferably 100 mPa·s or higher, more preferably 200 mPa·s or higher, even more preferably 400 mPa·s or higher, even more preferably 500 mPa·s or higher, even more preferably 600 mPa·s or higher, even more preferably 700 mPa·s or higher, and particularly preferably 800 mPa·s or higher. The viscosity of the cleansing composition is preferably 10,000 mPa·s or lower, more preferably 8,000 mPa·s or lower, even more preferably 5,000 mPa·s or lower, and particularly preferably 4,000 mPa·s or lower. The viscosity of the cleansing composition may be, for example, 100 to 10,000 mPa·s, or 500 to 4,000 mPa·s.
[0065] In this specification, the viscosity of a cleansing composition refers to a value measured using a Brookfield viscometer at atmospheric pressure and 25°C. The viscosity of a cleansing composition may be, for example, a value measured 60 seconds after rotating an M3 spindle rotor at a rotation speed of 30 rpm. The measurement conditions can be adjusted as appropriate, and in a viscosity range where measurement is difficult under the above conditions, the rotation speed may be changed, or an M2 or M4 spindle rotor may be used instead of the M3 spindle rotor.
[0066] The cleansing composition can be produced, for example, by mixing the above-mentioned components, dissolving them by heating, and then cooling. The timing of dissolving by heating can be adjusted as appropriate. For example, the cleansing composition can be produced by mixing some of the components, dissolving them by heating, cooling, and then adding and mixing the remaining components (for example, components that are sensitive to heat).
[0067] The present invention will be specifically explained below based on test examples, but the present invention is not limited to these.
[0068] <Preparation of Cleansing Compositions> 1. Test Examples 1 to 64 and 84 The types and amounts of each component shown in Tables 1 to 9 and 14 were mixed, heated to dissolve, and then cooled to room temperature while mixing with a magnetic stirrer to prepare the cleansing compositions of Test Examples 1 to 64 and 84. The amount of each component shown in Tables 1 to 9 and 14 is in mass%.
[0069] 2. Test Examples 65-77, 79, 80-83, and 85-86: The components shown in Tables 10-12, 13, and 15, except for component (B) and ascorbic acid (E), were mixed in the amounts shown in Tables 10-12, 13, and 15, heated and dissolved, and then cooled to room temperature while mixing with a magnetic stirrer to obtain Mixed Solution 1. Furthermore, ascorbic acid (E) was heated and dissolved in component (B) to obtain Mixed Solution 2. Mixed Solution 2 was added to Mixed Solution 1, and the mixture was mixed with a magnetic stirrer to prepare the cleansing compositions of Test Examples 65-77, 79, 80-83, and 85-86. The amount of each component shown in Tables 10-12, 13, and 15 is in mass%.
[0070] 3. Test Example 78 Of the components shown in Table 12, the components other than component (B) and component (E) were mixed in the amounts shown in Table 12, heated and dissolved, and then cooled to room temperature while mixing with a magnetic stirrer to obtain Mixed Solution 1. Furthermore, to a mixed solution obtained by heating and dissolving (E) ascorbic acid in 14.7% by mass of (B) glycerin and purified water, and then cooling to room temperature while mixing with a magnetic stirrer, a mixed solution of 0.3% by mass of (B) glycerin, propylene glycol, and (E) protease (Bioprase XL-416F (manufactured by Nagase Chemitec Corporation). A mixed solution containing 20% by mass, 30% by mass, and 50% by mass of protease, propylene glycol, and glycerin, respectively) was added and mixed with a magnetic stirrer to obtain Mixed Solution 2. Mixed Solution 2 was added to Mixed Solution 1 and mixed with a magnetic stirrer to prepare the cleansing composition of Test Example 78. The amount of each component shown in Table 12 is in mass %.
[0071] <Evaluation> 1. Viscosity The viscosity of the cleansing composition was measured using a Brookfield viscometer at atmospheric pressure and 25°C. Using an M3 spindle rotor, the rotor was rotated at a predetermined rotation speed, and the measured value after 60 seconds was recorded as the viscosity of the cleansing composition. The rotation speed was 12 rpm for Test Example 14, 60 rpm for Test Examples 43 and 45 to 47, and 30 rpm for the other Test Examples. The results are shown in Tables 1 to 15.
[0072] 2. Evaluation of Stability 30 mL of the prepared cleansing composition of each test example was dispensed into a glass bottle and stored for one day, after which the appearance of the cleansing composition was examined. The stability after one day of storage at room temperature (25°C) was evaluated using the following four-point scale. The results are shown in Tables 1 to 15. If the stability after one day is A, B, or C, it can be said that the stability is excellent. Furthermore, if it is A or B, it can be said that the stability is superior to C. In the case of A, the cleansing composition is considered to be a water-in-oil nanoemulsion or a microemulsion having a bicontinuous structure, and in the case of B, the cleansing composition may be a microemulsion having a bicontinuous structure. A: The cleansing composition is uniform and transparent blue. B: The cleansing composition is uniform and transparent. C: The cleansing composition is cloudy. D: The cleansing composition is separated into two or more phases.
[0073] 3. Severe Test The cleansing compositions of the test examples that were evaluated as having excellent stability in the above 2. (stability evaluation was A, B, or C) were subjected to a severe test in a low-temperature or high-temperature environment. First, 30 mL of the prepared cleansing composition of each test example was dispensed into a glass bottle and stored at room temperature (25°C) for one day, and the appearance (state one day after preparation) was examined. The cleansing compositions whose state one day after preparation was examined were further stored in a 4°C environment for one week, and then the appearance of the cleansing compositions was evaluated (evaluation after one week of storage in a 4°C environment) using the following three-point scale. The results are shown in Tables 1 to 15. A: The state one day after preparation is maintained. C: The cleansing composition is cloudy. D: The cleansing composition is separated into two or more phases.
[0074] Furthermore, the appearance of the cleansing compositions after storage for one week in a 40°C or 50°C environment, or for three days in a 60°C environment was evaluated in the same manner as in the above "Evaluation after one week of storage in a 4°C environment," except that "one week of storage in a 4°C environment" was replaced by "one week of storage in a 40°C environment," "one week of storage in a 50°C environment," or "three days of storage in a 60°C environment." The results are shown in Tables 1 to 15.
[0075] 4. Freeze-thaw test The cleansing compositions of Test Examples 85 and 86 were subjected to a freeze-thaw test as follows. First, 30 mL of the prepared cleansing composition of each Test Example was dispensed into a glass bottle and stored in a -7°C environment for one week. Thereafter, the cleansing composition was returned to room temperature (25°C), and the appearance of the cleansing composition was evaluated using the following two-stage evaluation. The results are shown in Table 15. A: The cleansing composition is uniform and not cloudy. C: The cleansing composition is cloudy. D: The cleansing composition has separated into two or more phases. Even when the cleansing composition did not freeze even at -7°C, the appearance was evaluated after returning to room temperature (25°C). Note that crystals were treated as a solid phase, and when crystals precipitated, it was determined to correspond to evaluation D.
