Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] LUGGAGE LABEL PRODUCTION METHOD
[0003] Field of the Invention
[0004] The present invention relates to a label production method that enables the adhesive label to be produced without using a silicone protection and cold seal layer, to prevent the label from adhering to a different surface other than its own adhesive surface, and to prevent the print on it from being damaged during the removal process.
[0005] The present invention particularly relates to a label production method that enables the luggage label to be produced without using a silicone protection layer preventing adhesion on its surface containing flight information and a cold seal layer on its surface containing luggage status information, and to prevent the printed information on its surface containing luggage status information from being erased and / or damaged in the event that the label is removed or its adhesive layer is removed.
[0006] State of the Art
[0007] Luggage labels containing passenger, travel, date, etc. identification information are placed on luggage in areas such as airports and bus terminals. These labels comprise an adhesive surface containing printed flight information such as company, passenger and travel information, as well as baggage status information such as printed warning and / or informational text. With the help of this adhesive surface, the label is usually wrapped around the luggage carrying handle and stuck onto the luggage. In the early days of luggage labels, adhesive materials that could stick to any surface were preferred to prevent the standard labels on the luggage from separating or being removed from the luggage during travel and transfer processes. However, since these standard labels are not suitable for multiple application and removal, they cannot be reused and negative situations such as the formation of a lot of garbage / waste and leaving marks on the removed surface and sticking unevenly occur. In addition, this situation causes labels stacked in rolls to stick to each other and damage the labels when they are removed from the roll, resulting in product loss.
[0008] For this purpose, in existing applications, an adhesive material mixture specially prepared for luggage labels is generally used, and this material is applied directly to the paper layer in a single step. In this application, the specially prepared adhesive mixture is coated onto the side of the paper that contains the luggage status information, and after coating, the necessary warning information is printed onto the adhesive layer using a printing method. In addition, in order to preserve the adhesive effect of the special adhesive material mixture mentioned above, the surface of the label containing the luggage status information must be coated with a waterbased lamination material called a cold seal. In addition, if the label is rolled up, its surface containing a special adhesive mixture must be coated with a protective layer containing silicone material several times to prevent it from sticking to the surface containing flight information. This situation leads to negative consequences such as the need to use additional materials, particularly silicone and water-based lamination materials, due to the use of a special adhesive mixture, and consequently increases in production time, difficulties in material procurement, the need for special production, and increased costs.
[0009] Current luggage labels typically consist of a top coating, a thermally sensitive coating, a paper layer, a lamination adhesive, a tear-resistant film, a self-adhesive coating, and a release liner. In addition to these layers, there is also a cold seal coating. These types of labels allow for labeling without damaging the luggage surface, with the help of their ability to adhere to their own adhesive surface. This makes it possible to attach labels to different types of luggage, but it does not provide an effective and practical solution to the problems of unwanted sticking and tangling that occur when labels are stacked in rolls. In addition, labels containing cold seal coating require special printing processes and different systems after the special adhesive coating process in order to print luggage status information on them. This situation causes the production process to become more difficult and production costs to increase, while also causing the luggage status information printed on the adhesive layer to be erased, damaged, or destroyed when the adhesive layer is removed or scraped off. In addition, due to the use of this customized adhesive material mixture containing many components, negative situations such as deterioration of the label structure, shape, and / or colors often occur during production, and for this reason, the quality of the product obtained decreases and / or the product loss rate increases.
[0010] The patent document EP0600622A1 , which is in the state of the art, describes a method for preparing a linerless, heat-sensitive luggage tag. The described linerless and heat-sensitive luggage label consists of a front and back side. A pressure-sensitive acrylic or rubber-based, heat-melt adhesive layer is applied to the bottom layer, which covers only part of the second surface. The first layer comprises a heat-sensitive layer and may have a protective layer. Luggage label markings containing information such as request control numbers are located on the heat-sensitive layer and are printed using the thermal printing method. The pressure- sensitive adhesive layer comprises a low-adhesion release coating, a heat-sensitive layer, and a protective layer. The release coating consists of UV-curable silicone material. The bottom layer comprises a perforated line that can separate a demand control portion and a luggage application portion. The second side of the bottom layer can also be printed. Said document does not mention a solution for the production of a label that prevents the label from adhering to a different surface than its own adhesive surface and from damaging the baggage status information print on the adhesive side during removal, without using a silicone protection and cold seal layer.
[0011] In the patent document numbered W08802903A1, which belongs to the known art, a method of preparing a luggage label consisting of a luggage part and a ticket part that can be separated from a bundle and attached to the luggage handle is described. The luggage label is characterized by a web that comprises a print-based front layer, a protective layer, and an adhesive layer. Labels can be separated by perforated lines running along the length of the roll. The luggage part and the ticket part can be separated from the roll by a transverse incision down to the release paper. To join the ends of the luggage compartment, the adhesive layer can be opened up to the protective layer. The bottom cut allows you to separate the two edges of the release paper without cutting. Said document does not mention a solution for the production of a label that prevents the label from adhering to a different surface than its own adhesive surface and from damaging the baggage status information print on the adhesive side during removal, without using a silicone protection and cold seal layer.
[0012] As a result, regardless of the printing method, the luggage label with printed information is produced without using a customized adhesive material mixture, silicone protection and cold seal layer, and the produced layer adheres to a different surface other than its own adhesive surface and in case the label is removed or the adhesive layer is removed, there is a need to develop a label production method that prevents the warning and / or information prints on the adhesive surface from being damaged and / or erased, and reduces production difficulty, time and cost.

[0034] Detailed Description of the Invention
[0035] In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the label production method is described only for clarifying the subject matter in a manner such that no limiting effect is created.
[0036] Label production method ensures at least one label (E), which is preferably a luggage label, which is developed with the present invention, whose example view is given in Figure 1 , which comprises at least three paint tanks suitable for placing fluid material and at least three anilox cylinders, suitable for use with at least one printing system, preferably a flexographic printing machine, at least one first layer (1) suitable for printing on and at least one surface of which is adhesive, preferably containing flight information on it, at least one second layer (2) preferably made of paper material, which is suitable for the adhesive surface of the said first layer (1) to be coated in a removable / separable manner and to be printed on, and at least one adhesive layer (3) that ensures that the said second layer (2) sticks only to itself; is obtained without the use of a specialized adhesive material or material mixture, mixing process, silicone protection on the first layer (1) and cold seal layer on the second layer (2), preventing the label (E) from adhering to a different surface other than the adhesive layer (3), and preventing the prints on the second layer (2) from being damaged and / or erased in the event of removal of the adhesive layer (3), the method comprising the process steps of; placing the label (E) in roll / coil form, preferably with a surface size of 33 cm x 2000 meters for use in standard printing systems, into the said printing system and adding acrylic / water-based or UV (Ultraviolet) paint to one of the said paint tanks; performing the printing process on the said first layer (1) using the first anilox cylinder, preferably with a dye ratio of 3-5 gr / m2, preferably in the range of 400-600 LPI (lines per inch); preferably turning said first anilox cylinder and performing the printing process on said second layer (2) using the first anilox cylinder with a dye ratio of preferably 3-5 g / m2, preferably in the range of 400-600 LPI (lines per inch); adding a first adhesive material, preferably acrylic adhesive, to the other of said paint tanks; adding at least a second adhesive material, preferably a latex adhesive, to one of the paint tanks that does not contain paint or acrylic adhesive material; coating the first adhesive material, preferably at a rate of 4-10 g / m2, on the surface of the said second layer (2) on which the printing process is carried out, by distributing it evenly with the help of the second anilox cylinder, preferably at a range of 100-400 LPI, and forming the first adhesive surface; then creating the second adhesive surface by coating the second adhesive material, preferably at a rate of 4-10 g / m2, evenly distributed on the said first adhesive surface with the help of the third anilox cylinder, preferably in the range of 100-400 LPI and obtaining the said adhesive layer (3).
[0037] In an embodiment of the label production method developed with the present invention, firstly the printing paint is added to one of the paint tanks in the printing system, the first adhesive material is added to one of the paint tanks that do not contain paint, and the second adhesive material is added to the other of the paint tanks that do not contain paint. After the label (E) in roll / coil form is placed in the printing system, the printing process is carried out using the first anilox cylinder on the first layer (1) and preferably the flight information is printed. By turning the first anilox cylinder with the help of the turnbar, the printing process is carried out on the said second layer (2) using the first anilox cylinder again and the luggage status information / warnings are printed. Subsequently, the first adhesive material is evenly distributed onto the surface of the second layer (2) using the second anilox cylinder, and the first adhesive surface is formed. At this stage, the use of acrylic adhesive as the first adhesive material increases the adhesion of the adhesive layer (3) to itself. This prevents the ends of the label (E) from easily separating from each other and being accidentally removed from the luggage. After this process, the second adhesive material is evenly distributed onto the first adhesive surface using the third anilox cylinder, and the second adhesive surface is created. Thus, an adhesive layer (3) consisting of the first and second adhesive surfaces is obtained. With the help of said second layer (2) above, the label (E) does not stick to itself when rolled up, preventing damage and product loss, and making it easier to unroll. By coating the first and second adhesive surfaces in sequence, the adhesive layer (3) is effectively prevented from adhering to any surface other than its own, while at the same time ensuring that the label (E) adheres securely, preventing unwanted opening and removal from the luggage.
[0038] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, said label production method comprises the step of repeating the previous process by coating the second adhesive material, preferably at a rate of 4-10 g / m2, evenly distributed on the second adhesive surface with the help of the third anilox cylinder, preferably in the range of 100-400 LPI after the formation of the second adhesive surface. In this way, the label (E) is prevented from sticking and being damaged while rolled.
[0039] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, said label production method comprises the step of drying the surfaces treated with UV (Ultraviolet) drying and / or infrared drying method and making them ready for the next process after each printing and coating process. This ensures that the flexo printing machine produces labels (E) without interruption.
[0040] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the label production method comprises the step of cutting the label (E) by means of a rotary magnetic knife and wrapping it in roll form after obtaining the said adhesive layer (3).
[0041] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the label production method comprises the step of coating a material suitable for separation from the adhesive surface of the said first layer (1) on the surface of the said second layer (2) facing the said first layer (1). Thus, said first layer (1) is separated from the second layer (2) to facilitate its use.
[0042] With the help of the label production method developed with the present invention, the label (E), which allows printing on it regardless of the printing method, is obtained without the use of a customized adhesive material or material mixture, mixing process, silicone protection and cold seal layer. In addition, an effective, efficient and practical label production method is achieved, which prevents the produced label (E) from adhering to a different surface than its adhesive layer (3) and the warning and / or information prints on the adhesive layer (3) side from being damaged and / or erased in case the label (E) is removed or the adhesive layer (3) is removed, thus reducing material supply difficulties, product and / or material loss, production time and costs.
