Abstract
Description
[0001] Detailed Description
[0002] ‘KATA’ is a content service platform that pushes audio content at the end of a phone call. The playback is played for a few seconds or longer depending on the subscriber's preference. The aim is to eliminate basic default sounds and have subscribers stick to the network longer.
[0003] Users can access the tunes via the website or USSD. The system has 4 parts:
[0004] 1. User authentication (for customer accounts and purchases) This is done by sending an OTP to the user’s phone number when users create an account and subscribe to a tune.
[0005] 2. Database storage (for audio metadata, user data, and order tracking) This keeps track of audio purchases and shows to the Service provider reports: Categories, Subscriptions per User, playthroughs and total playthrough time per day, month, year and total time spent on the platform.
[0006] 3. Payment processing (STK Push integration with Mobile money or through Airtime) deductions): These are backend integrations. In the case of airtime deductions, users grant the service provider permission to deduct charges from airtime, data and minutes when they check the ‘Terms of Service’ box when creating a user account.
[0007] 4. Audio file storage and management: This is a dedicated server hosting all audio content.
[0008] Technical Field
[0009] ‘KATA’ is a content service provider platform that best fits information and communication companies such as Mobile Providers and Social Media. This is simply because the content needs to be set up within the company servers to provide such a service to its subscribers. Also, for better efficient revenue collections that don’t require prompting all the time. Background Art
[0010] Current technologies are used to push survey / feedback questions at the end of calls. In some cases audio prompts requesting subscribers to record voice notes are played at the end of call. Other companies have exploited the technology to push personalized callback ringtones.
[0011] Summary of the Invention
[0012] ‘KATA’ is a platform that pushes audio content at the end of phone calls. The main aim is to give subscribers a variety of longer tunes to choose from to play at the end of calls, an alternative to the default short milli-sec sounds set by Mobile providers. Tech companies strive to have the subscribers spend more time on the platforms. ‘KATA’ offers alternative sounds and thus makes subscribers spend more time using the platform after calls. Users can access the audio sounds via website or USSD.
