Abstract

A method for producing an impregnated sheet of paper comprises the steps of - providing a sheet of paper; - impregnating the sheet of paper with an aminoplast resin; - optionally drying the sheet of paper impregnated with the aminoplast resin; - coating, after the impregnation step, the first side of the sheet of paper with a water- based polyurethane dispersion thereby obtaining a polyurethane coating layer; and - drying the sheet of paper. The polyurethane of the polyurethane dispersion comprises acrylate reactive groups. After the drying step, the aminoplast resin is partially cured and the polyurethane coating layer comprises acrylate reactive groups.
