The target tracking method comprises: on the basis of a second target tracking result of a server and a preset update weight, updating a first target tracking result of the camera device. By means of the method, a server can integrate a first target tracking result of each camera device in a camera system so as to obtain a more accurate second target tracking result, and each camera device can update the first target tracking result on the basis of the second target tracking result, such that the camera device can break through the limitations of a photographing field of view during target tracking, and obtain more comprehensive tracking information, thereby being conducive to improving the accuracy of target tracking.
