Description

Description Title of the invention: Burglar-resistant and ballistic protection partition module for constructing a burglar-resistant and ballistic protection partition made from an assembly of such modules

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of partition walls in a building. Its object is a burglar-resistant and ballistic-protective partition module for the construction of a partition wall, and a burglar-resistant and ballistic-protective partition wall made from an assembly of such modules.

[0002] In this application, a partition is defined as a space divider in a building, that is, a non-load-bearing structural element whose function is to delimit or compartmentalize interior spaces. Unlike a load-bearing wall, which supports structural loads, such a partition is primarily used to organize interior space and meet functional needs, particularly safety requirements. The height of the partition is defined by its vertical dimension, from floor to ceiling. The length of the partition is defined by its horizontal dimension. The thickness of the partition defines the distance between its two opposite faces.

[0003] We are already familiar with partitions, known as burglar-proof and bulletproof, designed to offer protection against intrusion attempts and armed attacks. These partitions meet specific security requirements in sensitive environments such as nuclear power plants, banks, embassies, or data centers.

[0004] Such a burglar-resistant and ballistic-protective partition separates an exposed area, from which a potential attack could originate, from a protected area, whether it be an intrusion, an armed attack, or an explosion. For its burglar-resistant function, such a partition must be certified according to specific standards, such as, for example, the European standard EN 1627-EN 1630, which classifies the partition's resistance to forced entry into six classes, from CR1 (low resistance) to CR6 (highest resistance), based on the resistance time and the tools used by attackers. For example, class CR5 corresponds to a The partition must offer mechanical resistance, at the point of attack, of at least 15 minutes against a forced entry attempt using a tool such as an angle grinder, specifically one with a 125 mm diameter disc providing a cutting depth of approximately 38 to 40 mm. The ballistic protection function of such a partition means that it must meet ballistic standards, such as the European standard EN 1522 / 1523, which classifies resistance to bullets / projectiles or projectile fragments according to the type of projectile and the kinetic energy it can transfer, from class FB1 to FB7. Such projectiles or fragments can originate from a firearm or an explosive device.

[0005] Such a partition is delimited, in its thickness, by two opposite faces, a front face defining the face of the partition which extends on the side of the exposed space and a rear face defining the face of the partition opposite the external face and which extends on the side not exposed to aggression.

[0006] Such partitions are marketed, for example, under the trade name "Bunkerkit". These partitions consist of an assembly of partition modules in the form of rectangular panels arranged vertically in the structure and assembled to each other by bolting.

[0007] However, the panels that make up these partitions each have a predefined height / length in their vertical assembly position, and are designed to be assembled only side-by-side along the partition, i.e., along a horizontal axis. These panels / modules thus allow only horizontal modularity of the partition on the assembly site, meaning only adjustment of the partition's length. To adjust the partition's height on-site, it is therefore necessary to manufacture specific panels with a length appropriate to the required partition height.

[0008] The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks by proposing a burglar-resistant and ballistic protection partition module for the construction of a partition and a partition made from an assembly of such modules, allowing horizontal and vertical modularity of the partition, while offering an optimized weight / performance ratio.

[0009] For this purpose, the partition module, according to the present invention, which is burglar-resistant and ballistic-protected, for constructing a partition, comprises a plurality of such partition modules assembled together, said partition having two opposing faces, namely a front face exposed to potential attacks and a rear face, said module comprising two opposing faces, namely a front face suitable for and intended to constitute part of the front face of a partition and a rear face, and is characterized in that it has a rectangular parallelepiped shape and in that it comprises:

[0010] - a rigid external shell, preferably metallic, in the shape of a tray delimiting an internal space and comprising a rectangular base whose external face forms the front face of the partition module, side walls perpendicular to the base and an opening located opposite the base,

[0011] - a rigid internal element, preferably metallic, fitted into the opening of the outer shell and assembled, or capable of being assembled, to the outer shell, the internal element extending parallel to the bottom of the outer shell,

[0012] - a ballistic protection barrier comprising at least one main ballistic protection plate, preferably rectangular, extending into the internal space of the external hull parallel to the bottom and having a surface area substantially equal to that of the bottom,

[0013] - preferably, at least one layer of filler material between the inner element and the bottom of the outer shell.

[0014] The partition, according to the present invention, which is burglar-resistant and ballistic-protective, said partition being fixed to at least one ceiling panel and / or at least one floor panel and, optionally, to at least one wall panel, said partition having an upper side, a lower side, two end sides connecting the two upper and lower sides, and two opposite faces, namely a front face exposed to potential attacks and a rear face, and being made from the assembly of partition modules, is characterized in that each partition module consists of a partition module according to the present invention and in that it comprises at least one vertical partition panel comprising at least one row of at least two horizontally juxtaposed modules assembled together by sharing a vertical joint and / or at least one column of at least two modules superimposed and assembled together by sharing a horizontal joint and in that the partition modules are assembled together with a tight fit aimed at eliminating, or reducing to a minimum, any gap at the joints.

[0035] [Fig. 20] shows a view of the partition shown in figure 19 in the assembled state.

[0036] The figures show a partition module M, according to the present invention, which is burglar-resistant and ballistic-protected for constructing a partition C comprising a plurality of such partition modules M assembled together. The partition C has two opposing faces, namely a front face C1 exposed to potential attacks and a rear face C2 not exposed (located on the protected side of the partition C). The partition module M comprises two opposing faces M1 and M2, namely a front face M1 suitable for and intended to form part of the front face C1 of a partition C, and a rear face M2.

[0037] The partition module M thus forms an independent unit suitable and intended to be assembled with at least one other partition module M to form a partition C which will be described in more detail later.

[0038] In accordance with the present invention, the partition module M has a rectangular parallelepiped shape and comprises:

[0039] - a rigid external shell 1, preferably metallic, in the shape of a tray delimiting an internal space and comprising a rectangular bottom 1a whose external face (of said bottom 1a) substantially forms the front face M1 of the module M, lateral walls 1b perpendicular to the bottom 1a and an opening 1c located opposite the bottom 1a,

[0040] - a rigid internal element 2, preferably metallic, fitted into the opening 1c of the outer shell 1 and assembled, or capable of being assembled, to the outer shell 1. The internal element 2 extends parallel to the bottom 1a of the outer shell 1,

[0041] - a ballistic protection barrier comprising at least one main ballistic protection plate 3, preferably rectangular, extending into the internal space of the outer hull 1 parallel to the bottom 1a and having a surface area substantially equal to that of the bottom 1a,

[0042] - preferably, at least one layer of filling material R1, R2 between (extending between) the internal element 2 and the bottom 1 a of the shell 1.

[0043] The ballistic protection barrier allows, in particular, to stop projectiles and / or projectile fragments likely to pass through the bottom 1 a of the hull 1.

[0044] The external face of the bottom 1a may be formed directly by the material of the external shell 1 or may, optionally, be formed by at least one finishing layer, such as a layer of paint or a protective film or other layer or superposition of layers of finishing material covering the basic external face of the bottom 1a. The basic external face is the external face without a finishing layer.

[0045] The outer shell 1 thus comprises four lateral walls 1b which are perpendicular to the base (bottom 1a) and meet at right angles. The edges of the lateral walls are preferably straight. The bottom 1a is preferably flat. The bottom 1a and the lateral walls 1b thus form a three-dimensional volume and delimit an internal space within the outer shell 1.

[0046] The M partition module thus comprises several layers from its front face to its back face, allowing, successively, for an anti-burglary effect:

[0047] - The base 1a can have as its main function the formation of a first layer of protection against break-ins. It can also form a first layer of ballistic protection capable of at least slowing down, or even stopping, some projectiles or projectile fragments.

[0048] - the ballistic protection barrier, in addition to its main function of ballistic protection in module M, can form, in particular through its main ballistic protection plate(s), at least one additional layer of protection against break-ins,

[0049] - the rigid internal element 2, which extends parallel to the bottom 1a of the external shell 1, can form at least one other additional layer of protection against break-ins.

[0050] These various anti-intrusion layers slow down or deter an attack on the M module, for example, an attack aimed at cutting the M module using a tool such as an angle grinder (or rotary disc cutter). Indeed, the attacker would first have to cut through the metallic bottom 1a of the outer shell, then the ballistic protection barrier (at least the main ballistic protection layer), and then the internal element 2. Furthermore, the present invention advantageously provides that the ballistic protection barrier is adapted to form an anti-intrusion barrier that blocks the passage of a tool, thus preventing an attacker, having successfully cut through the bottom 1a of the outer shell 1, from reaching and cutting, possibly simultaneously with or during the cutting of the bottom 1a, the internal element 2 with the tool.

[0051] Such a partition module M according to the present invention is thus capable of meeting anti-burglary and ballistic protection standards, in particular:

[0052] - for its anti-burglary function, to the European standard EN 1627- EN 1630, in particular to class CR5 of this standard (resistance, at least 15 minutes, to an attempted burglary using a tool such as an angle grinder, in particular an angle grinder with a diameter disc of 125 mm giving a cutting depth of around 38 to 40 mm).

[0053] - for its ballistic protection function (bulletproof), to the European standard EN 1522 - EN1523, in particular classes FB6, FB7.

[0054] In a preferred embodiment, as can be seen in figures 2, 4, 7, 12, 13, 14, 17, each main ballistic protection plate 3 can be interposed between the internal element 2 and the bottom 1 of the external shell 1.

[0055] It is understood that in the case where the present invention provides for a shape (not illustrated) with several main ballistic protection plates 3, these are arranged according to a superposition / juxtaposition of main ballistic protection plates 3, whether or not they are in contact with each other. Each main ballistic protection plate 3 in such a superposition / juxtaposition can thus be interposed between the internal element 2 and the bottom 1a of the external shell 1, parallel to said bottom 1a. The term "superposition" corresponds to an orientation of the module M where the main ballistic protection plates 3 each extend perpendicularly to a vertical axis, which is the case, for example, when the module M is placed flat on a horizontal surface. The term "juxtaposition" refers to an orientation of the M module where the 3 main ballistic protection plates each extend perpendicularly to a horizontal axis, which is particularly the case when the M module is mounted in a C partition.

[0056] It is understood that the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 is held fixedly within the internal space of the outer shell 1, extending continuously parallel to the bottom 1a of the outer shell 1, between the support element 2 and the bottom 1a of the outer shell 1. Preferably, the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 is a rigid plate, for example, a metal plate or sheet metal / plate, which may preferably be made of steel, a thermoplastic polymer, in particular one marketed under the registered trademark "Kevlar," or other materials. Such a plate is known as an armor plate / plate. It may be made from a high- or ultra-high-hardness armor steel, such as, for example, a steel marketed under the registered trademark "Mars," in particular under the reference "Mars 650," and is capable of forming an armor layer with very high resistance to penetration. In another form allowing for weight reduction while maintaining ballistic protection performance, the or each plate 3 of. The main ballistic protection may be a ceramic plate, in particular a ceramic plate combined with high-density polyethylene. The contour and surface area of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 may preferably be substantially similar to those of the bottom 1a of the outer shell 1.

[0057] Preferably, as can also be seen in Figures 2, 4, 7, 12, 13, 14, 17, each main ballistic protection plate 3 can be held fixedly in the internal space of the outer shell 1 at a distance from the internal element 2 and / or at a distance from the bottom 1a of the outer shell 1.

[0058] Preferably, as can still be seen in Figures 2, 4, 7, 12, 13, 17, one or more of the main ballistic protection plates 3 are held fixedly within the internal space of the outer shell 1 by being securely attached to the internal element 2. In the case of a plurality of main ballistic protection plates 3:

[0059] - In a first embodiment, the main ballistic protection plate 3, securely fixed to the internal element 2, is the main ballistic protection plate 3 closest to the internal element 2. In this embodiment, the main ballistic protection plates 3 can preferably be joined together, for example by welding, so as to form a block / assembly of main ballistic protection plates 3 securely fixed to the internal element 2.

[0060] - in another embodiment, the main ballistic protection plate 3 securely fixed to the internal element 2 is the main ballistic protection plate 3 furthest from the internal element 2.

[0061] Preferably, as can be seen in particular in Figures 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9 to 14, 17, the internal element 2 may include a fixing and support face 2a for the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3. The fixing and support face 2a is preferably parallel to the bottom 1a of the outer shell 1 and may include fixing holes 20a passing through it, allowing, by means of fixing and spacer elements fixed to the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 and passing through the holes of fixing 20a, to securely fix the or one of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 on the fixing and support face 2a and at a distance from the latter.

[0062] Preferably, the fastening and spacer elements may consist of threaded sockets 6 forming spacers fixed, preferably by welding, to the main ballistic protection plate 3, and screws 7 passing through the fastening holes 20a made in the fastening and support face 2a, which screw into the threaded sockets 6. It is understood that the threaded sockets 6 may be fixed to the face of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 that is turned / oriented towards the fastening and support face 2a. It is also understood that each threaded socket 6 has one end fixed to the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 and an open end opening into the thread receiving one of the screws 6, each threaded socket 6 extending axially perpendicularly to the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3.The fixing axis of each fixing and spacer element can then preferably be perpendicular to the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 and to the fixing and support face 2a.

[0063] In an embodiment of a plurality of main ballistic protection plates 3, and in an embodiment where the main ballistic protection plate 3 securely fixed to the internal element 2 is the main ballistic protection plate 3 furthest from the internal element 2, the fasteners and spacers, in particular the screws 7, may be provided to pass through the other main ballistic protection plates 3 so as to clamp them to the furthest main ballistic protection plate 3. Preferably, for this purpose, the other main ballistic protection plates 3 may have through holes to allow the screws (screw shanks) to pass through their thickness.

[0064] The fixing and support face 2a, as can be seen in particular in Figures 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 11, and 12, can be solid or perforated. Preferably, it can be rectangular in shape. It can generally have a grid-like shape. Preferably, its dimensions can be substantially similar to the base 1a of the outer shell 1. Being perforated helps to reduce the weight of the partition module M.

[0065] Thus, when the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 is held securely within the internal space of the outer shell 1 at a distance from the internal element 2, and more specifically from its mounting and support face 2a, i.e., when it is kept away from the latter, the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 can then form the aforementioned anti-intrusion barrier, preventing access to a tool such as an angle grinder, particularly the tool body. The distance between the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 and the mounting and support face 2a can preferably be greater than approximately 38 to 40 mm, which corresponds to the maximum cutting depth (approximately 38 to 40 mm) of a 125 mm diameter disc from an angle grinder used as a reference in applicable standards. It is understood that the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3, even if it is / are crossed by the disc of the angle grinder, will block the body of the angle grinder by preventing its passage beyond the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3, that is to say at least for a duration of resistance of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 to cutting.

[0066] Preferably, as can be seen in particular in Figures 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 to 12, the internal element 2, fitted (or inserted) into the opening 1c of the external shell 1, can have the shape of a tray comprising a rectangular base 2a, side walls 2b, and an opening 2c opposite its base 2a. The side walls 2b can be assembled, or are suitable and intended to be assembled, with the side walls 1b of the external shell 1 to securely join the internal element 1 and the external shell 2. It is understood that the base 2a and the side walls 2b of the internal element 2 define an internal space within the internal element 2.

[0067] Where appropriate, as shown in the attached figures (see in particular figures 2, 4, 7, 9, 10 to 12), the rectangular base 2a of the internal element 2 can form the fixing and support face 2a of the internal element 2.

[0068] In a form not shown in the accompanying figures, the present invention may provide that the main ballistic protection plate or plates 3 are securely fixed, for example, to the outer shell 1, that is, without being fixed to the inner element 2. The ballistic protection plate or plates 3 The main plate can then be securely fixed to the side walls 1 (at least two side walls 1b) of the outer shell 1, for example by welding its peripheral edge, or fixed to the side walls 1b (at least two side walls 1b) of the outer shell 1 via supports themselves fixed to said side walls 1b. The present invention may also provide that the first main ballistic protection plate 3 is fixed to both the outer shell 1 and the inner element 2.

[0069] Preferably, the side walls 2b of the internal element 2 and the side walls 1b of the external shell 1 may have assembly openings 10b, 20b through which, or which are suitable and intended to be through, fasteners, such as bolts 8, which may be included in the bulkhead module M, can be used to create a complete, rigid and detachable connection between the side walls 2b of the internal element 2 and the side walls 1b of the external shell 1 by pressing them together to securely join the internal element 2 and the external shell 1. It is understood that the fasteners, such as the bolts 8, can be installed in the bulkhead module M, before or during its installation in a bulkhead C. It is understood that these assembly openings 10b, 20b pass completely through the corresponding side walls 1b, 2b, i.e., through their thickness.

[0070] It is also understood that the assembly openings 10b of the side walls 1b of the outer shell 1 are located opposite the assembly openings 20b of the side walls 2b of the inner element 2 to allow the passage of assembly elements such as the bolts 8, i.e. the relevant part of the bolts 8 (screws 8a).

[0071] Each bolt 8 may comprise a screw 8a and a nut 8b and, optionally, at least one washer 8c. The screws 8a of the bolts 8 form the portion of the bolts 8 that pass through the assembly openings 10b, 20b of the side walls 1b, 2b, pressing them together by the tightening of the screws 8a into the nuts 8b. The corresponding side walls 1b, 2b of the inner element 2 and the outer shell 1, pressed together, are then held between the heads 80a of the screws 8a and the nuts 8b of the bolts 8.

[0072] As we will see later with regard to a partition C according to the present invention made from the assembly of a plurality of partition modules M, the same fasteners, such as the bolts 8, can be used to assemble two partition modules M together and aligned in the same plane, namely a first partition module M and a second partition module M (see in particular Figures 9 and 14). In this case, the fasteners, such as the bolts 8, can pass through, at the joint between the two partition modules M, both the corresponding side walls 2b, 1b of the internal element 2 and the external shell 1 of the first partition module M and the corresponding side walls 1b, 2b of the internal element 2 and the external shell 1 of the second partition module M, pressing them against each other.Furthermore, as can be seen in these figures 9 and 14, the head 80a of the screws 8a and the nuts of the bolts 8 can be located respectively in the internal spaces of the two partition modules M (that is to say more particularly in the internal spaces of the internal elements 2 of the two partition modules M) so as to obtain a tight fit aimed at minimizing or eliminating any gap in the joint of the two partition modules M, that is to say any gap compromising in said joint the desired ballistic protection effect, that is to say again any space between the two partition modules M which could allow the passage of projectiles and projectile fragments between the two partition modules M.The corresponding side walls 1b, 2b of the internal element 2 and of the external shell 1 of the first partition module M and the corresponding side walls 1b, 2b of the internal element 2 and of the external shell 1 of the second partition module M pressed against each other are then taken (four side walls 1b, 2b) between the head 80a of the screws 8a and the nuts 8b of the bolts 8.

[0073] Preferably, the internal element 2 and the external shell 1 can be nested one inside the other, oriented in the same way, so that the bottom 2a of the internal element 2 is located between the bottom 1a of the external shell 1 and the opening 2c of the internal element 2 (see in particular Figures 1, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 to 12). This feature allows an operator to access the internal space of the internal element 2 (or of the partition module M) to install the fasteners, such as the bolts 8, for assembling the internal element 2. to the outer shell 1. This assembly can be carried out before or during the mounting of the bulkhead module M in a bulkhead C. Once assembled, this feature allows an operator to directly access the assembly elements, such as the bolts 8, to dismantle the internal element 2, for example for maintenance of the bulkhead module M, for example to change the main ballistic protection plate 3, or to dismantle the bulkhead module M from the bulkhead, for example in order to carry out its replacement.

[0074] In a preferred embodiment of the internal element 2, as can be seen in particular in Figures 1, 2, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 17 in a tray-like shape, the side walls 2b of the internal element 2 may extend into a return 2d parallel to its base 2a. Furthermore, the return 2d may include assembly openings 20d, preferably oblong, to allow the assembly of the partition module M with at least one other partition module M oriented perpendicularly to it in a partition C (Figures 12, 13, and 17). It is understood that these assembly openings 20d pass completely through the return 2d. The oblong shape allows for adjustment of the assembly position of the two partition modules M relative to each other. Such a 2d return can also form a stiffener reinforcing the rigidity and / or stability of the internal element 2.It can still serve as a support on the rear face M2 of the partition module M, allowing the fixing of a finishing layer and / or insulation such as a plasterboard, for example marketed under the well-known name "BA13".

[0075] Thus, as can be seen in particular in Figures 12 and 13, during the assembly of the partition module M, referred to as the first partition module M, with another partition module M, referred to as the second partition module M, oriented perpendicularly to the first partition module M, the present invention provides that the return of the first partition module M is assembled to the corresponding side walls 1b, 2b of the outer shell 1 and the inner element 2 of the second partition module M by means of fasteners, such as bolts 8. The fasteners, such as bolts 8, can then pass, at the joint between the two partition modules M, through the assembly openings 10b, 20b of the corresponding side walls 1b, 2b of the second partition module M and the corresponding part of the return 2d of the first The partition M modules are pressed together. Furthermore, as can be seen in Figures 12 and 13, the heads 80a of the screws 8a and the nuts of the bolts 8 can be located respectively in the internal spaces of the two partition M modules (i.e. more particularly in the internal spaces of the internal elements 2 of the two partition M modules) so as to obtain a tight fit eliminating, or reducing to a minimum (as much as possible), any gap between the two perpendicular partition M modules, i.e. in their joint, which makes it possible to avoid compromising the effect of the ballistic protection in their joint (between them) by preventing the passage of projectiles and projectile fragments between the two partition M modules. The corresponding part of the return 2d of the first partition module M and the corresponding side walls 1b, 2b of the internal element 2 and of the external shell 1 of the second partition module M pressed against each other are then taken (two side walls 1b, 2b and the corresponding part of the return 2d) between the head 80a of the screws 8a and the nuts 8b of the bolts 8.

[0076] Preferably, the partition module M may include at least one layer of filling material R1 interposed between the internal element 2 and the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 and / or at least one layer of filling material R2 interposed between the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 and the bottom 1a of the external shell 1. Preferably, each layer of filling material R1, R2 may be, for example, a layer of extruded polystyrene.

[0077] In a preferred embodiment of the partition module M, as can be seen in particular in Figures 2, 4, 7, 12, 16, 17, it may further comprise an internal peripheral ballistic protection and / or anti-retraction stop 4, preferably quadrangular in shape, extending over the inner faces of the lateral walls 1b of the external hull 1 parallel to its bottom 1a and between the latter and the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 so as to create:

[0078] - a peripheral ballistic protection barrier in front of an existing gap between the peripheral edge of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 and the inner faces of the side walls 1b of the outer shell 1,

[0079] - and / or an anti-removal stop blocking, or limiting, any possible movement of the or at least one of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 in a direction of movement towards the front face M1 of the partition module M, in particular in the event of failure of the fixing of the or at least one of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 in the outer shell 1. It is understood that the possible movement of the or at least one of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 is in particular a movement caused by an aggressor seeking to remove the or at least one of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 from the partition module M.

[0080] Preferably, one or more of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3 may be in contact with the peripheral ballistic protection relief 4 and / or anti-retraction stop.

[0081] It is understood that when the present invention provides that the relief 4 performs the ballistic protection function, the ballistic protection barrier is then reinforced by the presence of such a relief 4, which it also comprises. Preferably, the relief 4 can then be made from the same material, in particular the same steel, as that of the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3, as previously described.

[0082] The peripheral ballistic protection relief 4 and / or anti-retraction stop can be made from several parts, for example, as can be seen in particular in figure 2, from four straight elements 4a each fixed on the inner face of one of the side walls 1 b of the outer shell 1 parallel to its bottom 1a.

[0083] The outer shell 1, as can be seen in particular in figures 1, 2, 5, 9, 10, 14, can include in each of its corners / angles, each defined by the intersection between two lateral walls 1b and the bottom 1a of the outer shell 1, a notch 1d, preferably rectangular in shape.

[0084] Preferably, such a notch 1 d can be made by cutting in a metal sheet from which the outer shell 1 can be made.

[0085] Furthermore, as can be seen in particular in Figures 10 and 14, the ballistic protection barrier may also include at least one additional ballistic protection plate 5. Each notch 1d may be suitable and intended to receive at least part of the additional ballistic protection plate(s) 5. The additional ballistic protection plate(s) 5 is smaller in size than the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3.

[0086] The additional ballistic protection plate(s) 5 then provide additional ballistic protection behind the corresponding folding angles of the outer shell 1 which may include gaps resulting from the folding of the sheet constituting the outer shell 1. Such gaps have the disadvantage of allowing projectiles or projectile fragments to pass through, which are then stopped by the corresponding additional ballistic protection layer located behind these gaps.

[0087] Each notch 1d is then suitable and intended to receive at least a part, in particular a corner, of the additional ballistic protection plate(s) 5. Thus, preferably, as can be seen in particular in Figures 10, 13, 14, the additional ballistic protection plate(s) 5 can then be inserted and held fixedly in four notches 1d of four adjacent partition modules M of two rows of superimposed partition modules M in a partition C. The additional ballistic protection plate(s) 5 can then form, in a partition C, an additional inter-module ballistic protection layer / screen at the corresponding corners / angles of the outer shell 1 of each relevant partition module M.

[0088] Figures 8 to 20 in the appendix also show, at least partially, a partition C, according to the present invention, which is burglar-resistant and ballistic-protective (bulletproof). Such a partition C is fixed to at least one ceiling panel S2 and to at least one floor panel S3 and, optionally, to at least one wall panel S1, said partition having an upper side, a lower side, two end sides connecting the two upper and lower sides and two opposite faces, namely a front face C1 exposed to potential attacks and a rear face C2 (not exposed), said partition C being made from the assembly of a plurality of partition modules M.

[0089] This will be understood as:

[0090] - “S1 wall” means a solid wall that is at least partly oriented vertically and / or at least partly inclined (for example, in attics or under roofs). Such a wall laterally delimits a space and plays a role in separating and supporting structural loads.

[0091] - "Ceiling wall S2" is a solid wall located at the top of a space, which defines the height of a room. It may be at least partially horizontal and / or at least partially inclined (as in the case of a sloping ceiling). Its function is to close off the upper part of the space.

[0092] - "S3 floor wall", a solid horizontal wall located at the base of a space, forming the floor of the room / space. It delimits the lower part of the space / room and supports the loads. It can also separate floors in a multi-level building.

[0093] It is understood that a wall / ceiling S1 / S2 to which the partition C according to the present invention is attached can have a hybrid configuration, with continuity between the vertical and inclined parts, which is typical, in particular, in a building / structure with rooms under the roof or with particular architectural structures. The partition C according to the present invention, by its modular design with horizontal and vertical modularity, can be easily and inexpensively adapted, in its shape and dimensions, to these particular structures (Figures 19, 20).

[0094] In accordance with the present invention, each partition module M consists of a partition module M according to the present invention.

[0095] According to the present invention, such a partition C comprises at least one vertical partition wall (extending in a vertical plane or perpendicular to the floor). Each partition wall comprises at least one row of at least two horizontally juxtaposed M modules joined together by sharing a vertical joint and / or at least one column of at least two stacked M modules joined together by sharing a horizontal joint. The partition M modules are joined together with a tight fit designed to eliminate, or minimize, any gap at the (i.e., in the) (horizontal and vertical) joints, that is, any gap likely to compromise ballistic protection between the M partition modules (in the horizontal and vertical joints).

[0096] The partition C according to the present invention is defined as a space divider in a building, that is, a non-load-bearing structural element whose function is to delimit or compartmentalize interior spaces. It is primarily suitable and intended for use in both organizing interior space and meeting functional safety requirements. The height of the partition C is defined by its vertical dimension. The length of the partition C is defined by its horizontal dimension. The thickness of the partition defines the distance between the two opposite faces C1 and C2 of the partition C. The partition C extends lengthwise between two partition ends (or edges of the partition). The ends of partition C can be either entirely vertical, or partly vertical and / or partly inclined (with continuity between the vertical / inclined parts), in particular to follow / adapt to the vertical / inclined parts of a wall or ceiling.

[0097] It is understood that the partition modules M are assembled to each other by being in contact with each other in the joints by the corresponding side walls 1 b of their external shells 1. In the case where the tight fit obtained according to the present invention leaves a gap in the corresponding joint, the gap may be continuous, non-continuous or irregular, but this gap is reduced to the minimum, that is to say that it does not allow the passage of projectiles or projectile fragments meeting at least the standards mentioned above.

[0098] Each vertical partition wall thus serves as a separation between two spaces, one of which, located on the rear face C2, is protected / secured / not exposed since projectiles or projectile fragments are prevented from passing through the partition in its thickness.

[0099] The partition modules M of the partition wall or each partition wall can be of different shapes and / or dimensions and / or proportions as can be seen in particular in figures 9 to 11, 14, 19 and 20.

[0100] In a preferred embodiment, each partition wall can form a hierarchical structure of partition modules M defined as comprising several groups G1, G2, G3... Gn of partition modules M:

[0101] - a higher-level group G1 comprising at least one partition module M or a plurality of identical partition modules M,

[0102] - at least one lower level group G2, G3... Gn comprising at least one partition module M or a plurality of identical partition modules M, the partition module or each partition module M forming a division / subdivision of a partition module M of the immediately higher level group.

[0103] It is understood that the partition module(s) M of the highest-level group is / are larger than the partition module(s) M of the lower-level group. It is also understood that the first group G1 is composed of one or more partition modules M, each of which is not a division / subdivision of a partition module M from another group, while the subsequent lower-level groups G2, G3, ..., Gn comprise one or more partition modules M, each resulting from the division / subdivision of the partition module M of the immediately higher level. These division / subdivision relationships allow for the hierarchical structuring of each partition wall C according to successive divisions / subdivisions, and enable the creation of all the lengths / heights of partition C to perfectly adapt its dimensions to the space within the site where it is to be installed / erected.

[0104] In a preferred embodiment, the partition wall(s) may comprise, for example, three groups G1, G2, G3 of partition modules M:

[0105] - a first higher-level group G1 comprising one or more identical partition module(s) M, preferably rectangular or square in shape (for example with a front face M1 measuring 500 x 500 mm),

[0106] - a second group G2 of the immediately lower level comprising one or more identical partition module(s) M, each forming (in its dimensions and shape) a division of the partition module(s) M of the first group. Preferably, each partition module M of the second group presents a rectangular shape (for example with a front M1 face measuring 500 x 125 mm),

[0107] - a third group G3 at the level immediately below the second group comprising one or more identical partition module(s) M, each forming (in its dimensions and shape) a subdivision of one or more partition module(s) M of the second group. Preferably, each partition module M of the third group has a square (or cubic) shape (for example with a front face M1 of 125 x 125 mm).

[0108] Figures 8 to 11 show, in particular:

[0109] - The M partition modules of the first group can be arranged on at least one row of the wall,

[0110] - The partition M modules of the second group can be oriented horizontally or vertically within the partition wall. Vertically oriented partition M modules can be placed between two partition M modules of the first group. Horizontally oriented partition M modules can preferably be placed at the top of the partition wall, forming at least part of the topmost row.

[0111] - the M partition modules of the third group can preferably be arranged in the top row of the partition wall, preferably between two M partition modules of the last top row.

[0112] As can be seen in Figures 19 and 20, the partition M modules can be arranged to allow for at least one partially (or fully) inclined end of the partition C. More specifically, Figures 19 and 20 show that the partition M modules are arranged in a stepped pattern, meaning that each row of partition M modules is progressively offset inwards to achieve the desired inclination. Each row can include partition M modules from one or both of the aforementioned groups.

[0113] Of course, other hierarchical arrangements / structures of partition M modules not illustrated can be considered without going out of the scope of the present invention.

[0114] In a particular embodiment of partition C, it may comprise, as can be seen in Figures 8 to 11, 19, 20, at least two partition walls perpendicular to each other and joined together by sharing at least one vertical joint. The partition walls are securely joined together with a tight fit eliminating, or minimizing, any gaps in the joint(s).

[0115] We will henceforth refer to two partition walls that are perpendicular to each other as the first partition wall and the second partition wall. They form a right angle, called the corner of partition C.

[0116] It is understood that the partition C according to the present invention can be used to separate a space into several distinct zones by forming at least one corner or angle in a space, for example in a building or structure.

[0117] In this embodiment, the two perpendicular partition walls are joined to each other by means of a corner termination M', M" extending vertically over the entire height of the partition C. The corner termination M', M" can be joined to at least one of the two perpendicular partition walls, sharing vertical joints with them. The two perpendicular partition walls and the corner termination M', M" are securely joined to each other with a tight fit that eliminates, or minimizes, any gaps at the joints (horizontal and vertical).

[0118] In a particular configuration of partition C with at least three partition walls, which are assembled continuously as shown in Figures 19 and 20, the partition walls can form a right angle at each junction between two partition walls. One of the partition walls can then be connected / joined to the other two partition walls via a corner termination M', M”. For example, in the case of three partition walls forming two right angles at each junction between two partition walls, partition C can then include two corner terminations M', M” as shown in Figures 19 and 20.

[0119] Preferably, as can be seen in particular in Figures 12, 13 and 17, each corner termination of partition M', M” may include at least one Ballistic protection plate 16, 16', 16”, also known as 16, 16', 16” corner termination ballistic protection plate. Such a 16, 16', 16” corner termination ballistic protection plate creates a ballistic protection barrier in the corner or each corner of partition C, effectively preventing the passage of projectiles or projectile fragments heading towards the corner in question.

[0120] In a particular embodiment, as shown in Figures 12, 13, and 17, the corner end(s) of the partition M' may have a rectangular parallelepiped shape, hereafter referred to as a box shape, preferably elongated. Such a box-shaped corner end M', preferably elongated, may include within its internal space one or more ballistic protection plates 16, 16'. In a particular embodiment, as shown in Figure 13, the ballistic protection plate 16' may have an L-shape, which may be formed in one piece or from two ballistic protection plates 16' perpendicular to each other, so as to form an L-shaped ballistic protection barrier in the corresponding corner of the partition C.In another embodiment, as shown in Figures 12 and 17, the corner end(s) of the partition may include a ballistic protection plate 16 with a generally curved shape, forming a generally curved ballistic protection barrier in the corresponding corner of the partition C. The generally curved ballistic protection plate 16 may comprise, for example (Figures 12 and 17), two straight sections connected by a curved section, for example, an arc. The straight sections may extend parallel to the two corresponding perpendicular faces of the partition C.

[0121] In the particular box-shaped form, the bulkhead corner termination M' may include a filling extending inside the box, preferably extending around the ballistic protection plate 16 of the bulkhead corner termination, preferably in contact over all or part of the surface of the latter (Figures 2, 13 and 17).

[0122] In a different particular form than the box-shaped one, as can be seen in figures 18, 19 and 20, the partition corner termination M” can present an angle / right-angle shape. Each internal face of the angle, turned towards the unexposed face of the partition, can then be covered by one of the 16” ballistic protection plate(s) for partition corner termination in order to ensure the function of ballistic protection shield / screen in the corresponding corner.

[0123] It is understood that when the partition C includes at least two angles, and respectively two partition angle terminations M', M”, at least one of the partition angle terminations M' can be box-shaped and the other or at least one of the other partition angle termination(s) M” can be angle-shaped, as can be seen in figures 19 and 20.

[0124] Such a partition corner termination M', M” can be made from an assembly of several partition corner termination modules M', M” each forming a section of the partition corner termination M', M”. The partition corner termination modules can then be stacked, each extending vertically along the height of the partition C and sharing horizontal joints. Thus, a partition corner termination module can have a box or angle shape depending on the shape of the partition corner termination M', M”. The two perpendicular partition walls and the partition corner termination module(s) are then securely joined with a tight fit, eliminating, or minimizing, any gaps at the joints.

[0125] Regarding the assembly of such a partition corner termination M', M" to the corresponding perpendicular partition walls, it can be seen in particular in figures 12, 13 and 17 that the partition corner termination M', M" can be assembled to the two corresponding perpendicular partition walls by being assembled to the partition modules M of at least one of the two partition walls by means of assembly elements, such as for example assembly elements, for example of the bolt (screw / nut) type or weld studs 18 / nuts 18a.

[0126] Preferably, in cases where such a corner termination has a box-like shape, the partition corner termination M' can be assembled to the first partition wall using fastening elements, such as, for example, Assembly members comprising weld studs 18 and nuts 18a, passing through the vertical walls 1b, 2b of the first partition module M. More particularly, it can be seen in Figures 12, 13, and 17 that the studs 18 can be welded to one or more of the ballistic protection plates 16, 16' of the corresponding corner termination of the partition corner M' and can pass through the vertical walls 1b, 2b of the first partition module M by screwing into the nuts 18a. The present invention (form not illustrated in the accompanying figures) may also provide that the partition corner termination M' is assembled to the partition modules M (to at least one of the partition modules M) of the second partition wall or only to the latter.

[0127] Preferably, as can be seen in particular in figures 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, 19, 20, such a partition C may also include at least one finishing and ballistic protection angle 9 dedicated to the partition wall(s), namely:

[0128] - at least one ballistic protection and finishing corner bead 9 configured and fixedly maintained so as to finalize / fill the space, referred to as the upper clearance space E1, between the ceiling wall S2 and the upper side of the dedicated partition wall C and to create a ballistic protection barrier / screen in the corresponding upper clearance space,

[0129] - and / or at least one ballistic protection finishing and corner piece 9 configured and fixedly maintained so as to finalize / fill the space, referred to as the lateral clearance space E2, between the wall(s) S1 and at least one of the two end sides of the partition C and to create a ballistic protection barrier in the corresponding lateral clearance space E2.

[0130] As can be seen in figures 8, 9, 19, 20, in order to follow / conform to the slope or inclination of a ceiling wall S2 and / or a wall wall S1:

[0131] - the upper side of the partition wall(s) may include at least one horizontal section and / or at least one inclined section,

[0132] - and at least one of the end sides may include at least one inclined part and / or at least one vertical part.

[0133] Preferably, each ballistic protection and finishing corner bracket 9 may comprise two perpendicular wings, namely a first fixing wing 9a and a second gap-closing wing 9b. The first fixing wing 9a is fixed by means of pre-fixing devices, for example screws 11, to the ceiling panel S2 or the relevant wall panel S1. The second wing 9b extends parallel to the front face C1 of the corresponding partition panel C and extends in front of the partition panel(s) to close the relevant upper or lateral clearance space E1, E2. Preferably, each ballistic protection and finishing corner bracket 9 is pre-fixed, i.e., fixed before the fixing of the partition modules M of the topmost row of partition modules M.

[0134] According to a particular feature, each ballistic protection and finishing angle bracket 9 may include at least one ballistic protection plate 17, referred to as the ballistic protection and finishing plate 17. Preferably, the ballistic protection and finishing plate 17 is securely fixed, for example by welding or bonding, to the inner face of the second wing 9b of the ballistic protection and finishing angle bracket 9. It is understood that the second protective wing 9b is the one that is frontally exposed.

[0135] Preferably, the corner termination and finishing ballistic protection plates 16, 16', 17 can be made from the same material as the main and additional ballistic protection plates 3, 5 or from different materials such as for example those taken from the materials described above for the main ballistic protection plate(s) 3.

[0136] Each upper or lateral clearance space E1, E2 has dimensions smaller than a manhole, i.e. not allowing the passage of a man from one side to the other of the partition C. Thus the distance between the ceiling wall S1, or the wall wall S2, and a partition module M of the adjacent row or column is preferably less than 200 mm.

[0137] Referring in particular to Figure 13, it can be seen that the fixing of the partition wall(s) to a wall S1 can be achieved by fixing at least one of the partition modules M of the end column adjacent to the wall S1 using fasteners, such as assembly screws 13. Preferably, the fasteners, such as assembly screws 13, can horizontally passing through the relevant assembly openings 10b, 20b of the corresponding vertical side walls 10b, 20b of the relevant partition module(s) M and anchoring into the wall panel S1 to ensure a complete, rigid, and removable connection. It can also be seen that the present invention may provide spacers 13a, preferably cylindrical, through which the assembly elements, such as assembly screws 13, pass, allowing the wall panel S1 and the adjacent partition module(s) M to be maintained at a fixed distance. Such spacers 13a can be adjusted in length, i.e., cut, at the partition C installation site.Preferably, to protect the assembly screws 13 passing through the spacers 13a, the present invention may provide that the cylindrical spacers 13a comprise two cylinders one inside the other, an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder, the inner cylinder of which is free to rotate about its axis, and therefore about the axis of the assembly screw 13, relative to the outer cylinder which is fixed.

[0138] As can be seen in particular in Figure 13, the fasteners, such as the assembly screws 13, can thus simultaneously allow the horizontal side walls 1b, 2b of the outer shell 1 and the inner element 2, through which the assembly screws 13 pass, to be joined to the wall S1 within the partition module M by pressing them together. The side walls 1b, 2b of the partition module M can then be held, by clamping them together, between the heads 13a of the assembly screws 13 and the corresponding spacers 13a.

[0139] Referring in particular to Figure 15, it can be seen that the fixing of the partition wall(s) to a ceiling wall S2 can be achieved by fixing at least one of the partition modules M in the uppermost row (the highest row of partition C) to the ceiling wall S2 using fasteners, such as assembly screws 14. It is understood that the uppermost row includes the top edge of the partition wall. Preferably, the fasteners, such as assembly screws 14, can pass horizontally through the relevant assembly openings 10b, 20b of the corresponding horizontal walls 1b, 2b of the relevant partition module(s) M and anchor themselves in the ceiling wall S2 to ensure a secure connection with it. This provides a complete, rigid, and demountable connection. It can also be seen that the present invention can provide spacers 14a through which the assembly elements, such as assembly screws 14, pass, allowing the ceiling wall S2 and each adjacent module M to be held at a fixed distance. Such spacers 14a can be adjusted in length, i.e., cut, at the installation site of the partition C.

[0140] As can be seen in particular in Figure 15, the fasteners, such as the assembly screws 14, can thus simultaneously allow the horizontal side walls 1b, 2b of the outer shell 1 and the inner element 2, through which the assembly screws 14 pass, to be assembled in the relevant partition module(s) M by pressing them together, and to be assembled in the relevant partition module(s) M to the solid, horizontal wall S2. The side walls 1b, 2b of the relevant partition module(s) M can then be clamped together between the (non-visible) heads of the assembly screws 14 and the corresponding spacers 14a.

[0141] It can also be seen, particularly in Figures 13 and 15, that the first flange 9a of each angle bracket 9 can be traversed by the fasteners, such as the corresponding assembly screws 13 and 14. The first flange 9a may therefore have holes 90b allowing the passage of the corresponding assembly screws 13 and 14 through the first flange 9a.

[0142] Referring to Figure 16, it can be seen that the attachment of the partition wall(s) to a floor wall S3 can be achieved by fixing at least one of the modules M in the bottom row (first row from the bottom of the partition C) adjacent to the floor wall S3 using fasteners, such as assembly screws 15. It is understood that the bottom row includes the lower side of the partition wall. Preferably, the fasteners, such as assembly screws 15, can pass vertically through the relevant assembly openings 10b, 20b in the corresponding vertical horizontal walls 10b, 20b of the relevant partition module(s) M and anchor themselves into the floor wall S3 to ensure a complete, rigid, and removable connection.

[0143] Referring to Figures 16 and 17, we can see that partition C can include at least two right angles, each right angle forming the angle between two perpendicular partition walls, that is, between a first partition wall and a second partition wall. The two right angles can be oriented inversely, meaning that one angle is closed and the other is open, thus forming two inverted L-shapes in continuity, as can be seen in Figure 20.

[0144] Such a partition module M and such a partition C made from an assembly of such partition modules M thus allows horizontal and vertical modularity of the partition, i.e. an adjustment of the length of the partition and an adjustment of the height of the partition, according to any length and any height required on the site of the installation / assembly of the partition C, while offering an optimized weight / performance ratio of both each partition module M and the partition C itself. Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in the accompanying drawings. Modifications remain possible, particularly with regard to the composition of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
