Description

Information provision device, information provision method, and program

[0001] This disclosure relates to an information provision device, an information provision method, and a program.

[0002] As a technology to promote a user's physical behavior (e.g., walking), there is a known technology that calculates a target value from information about the user's health, the weather on that day, the day of the week, the user's schedule, etc., and then presents that target value alongside the user's actual physical behavior (Patent Document 1). The technology described in Patent Document 1 promotes the user's physical behavior by presenting them with achievable goals, thereby giving them a sense of accomplishment.

[0003] International Publication No. 2022 / 230108

[0004] However, for behaviors that require long-term commitment (e.g., weight loss), the goal of that behavior is generally evaluated using lagging indicators (e.g., weight), so simply presenting lagging indicators may not be sufficient to encourage the behavior.

[0005] This disclosure is made in view of the above points and aims to encourage actions to be taken to achieve the goals evaluated by lagging indicators.

[0006] An information providing device according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes: a calculation unit that calculates at least a first leading indicator having a predetermined first correlation with the degree of achievement of a predetermined target, and a second leading indicator having a predetermined second correlation with the degree of achievement of the target, with respect to a lagging indicator for evaluating a predetermined target; and a creation unit that creates display information for presenting to a user information that visualizes the first leading indicator, the second leading indicator, and information based on the first leading indicator and the second leading indicator.

[0007] This can encourage actions to be taken to achieve goals that are evaluated using lagging indicators.

[0009] The following describes in detail one embodiment of the present invention with reference to the drawings. In the following embodiment, an information provision system 1 is described that provides the user with information that can promote actions to achieve a goal evaluated by a lagging indicator, targeting actions that need to be undertaken over the long term. In the following, as an example, weight loss (or dieting) is assumed to be an action that needs to be undertaken over the long term, and body weight is used as the lagging indicator. In this case, various leading indicators can be considered, but in the following, calories burned and calories consumed will be used as leading indicators. Since calories burned work in the direction of reducing body weight, it can be said to be a leading indicator that represents the degree of contribution (positive contribution) to achieving the goal. On the other hand, since calories consumed work in the direction of increasing body weight, it can be said to be a leading indicator that represents the degree of impediment (negative contribution) to achieving the goal. In other words, when the degree of goal achievement is quantified (e.g., quantified as a percentage, etc.), calories burned can be said to be a leading indicator that has a positive correlation with the degree of goal achievement, and calories consumed can be said to be a leading indicator that has a negative correlation with the degree of goal achievement.

[0010] However, weight loss or dieting is just one example of an action that needs to be undertaken over the long term, and the information provision system 1 described in the following embodiment can be similarly applied to various actions that need to be undertaken over the long term. For example, the information provision system 1 described in the following embodiment can be similarly applied to health management, learning, education, and the like.

[0011] In the following, calorie expenditure and calorie intake are used as leading indicators, but the number of leading indicators is not limited to two; there may be three or more. Furthermore, each leading indicator may have a positive correlation, a negative correlation, or other correlation with the degree of goal achievement. In particular, two different leading indicators may have the same type of correlation with the degree of goal achievement.

[0012] <Overall Configuration Example> Figure 1 shows an overall configuration example of the information provision system 1 according to this embodiment. As shown in Figure 1, the information provision system 1 according to this embodiment includes one or more user terminals 10 and an information provision device 20. Each user terminal 10 and the information provision device 20 are connected to each other so as to be able to communicate via a communication network 30, for example, the Internet.

[0013] User terminal 10 is a type of device used by users who are working to lose weight to reach their target weight. For example, user terminal 10 can include a PC (personal computer), smartphone, wearable device (e.g., smartwatch), or gaming device.

[0014] The information providing device 20 is an information processing device or information processing system that provides the user with information that can promote weight loss to reach a target weight. For example, the information providing device 20 can be a general-purpose server or a system composed of such servers.

[0015] <Hardware Configuration Example> <User Terminal 10> Figure 2 shows an example of the hardware configuration when the user terminal 10 is a smartphone or the like. As shown in Figure 2, the user terminal 10 according to this embodiment has a touch panel 101, a sensor 102, an external I / F 103, a communication I / F 104, a memory device 105, and a processor 106. Each of these hardware components is connected to communicate via a bus 107.

[0016] The touch panel 101 is an input / output device that combines a display device such as a liquid crystal panel and a pointing device such as a touchpad. The sensor 102 is a sensor that acquires or measures various information related to the user's health (e.g., steps, heart rate, sleep time, etc.). The external I / F 103 is an interface with external devices such as a recording medium 103a. Examples of recording mediums 103a include SD memory cards (Secure Digital memory cards) and USB (Universal Serial Bus) memory cards.

[0017] The communication interface 104 is an interface for connecting to the communication network 30. The memory device 105 is a non-volatile storage device such as flash memory. The processor 106 is an arithmetic unit such as a CPU (Central Processing Unit).

[0018] Note that the hardware configuration shown in Figure 2 is just one example, and the hardware configuration of the user terminal 10 is not limited to this. For example, the user terminal 10 may not have some of the hardware shown, or it may have various other hardware components besides those shown.

[0019] <Information Provisioning Device 20> Figure 3 shows an example of the hardware configuration when the information provisioning device 20 is a general-purpose server or the like. As shown in Figure 3, the information provisioning device 20 according to this embodiment includes an input device 201, a display device 202, an external I / F 203, a communication I / F 204, a RAM (Random Access Memory) 205, a ROM (Read Only Memory) 206, an auxiliary storage device 207, and a processor 208. Each of these hardware components is connected to communicate via a bus 209.

[0020] The input device 201 is, for example, a keyboard, mouse, or physical buttons. The display device 202 is, for example, a display or display panel. The information providing device 20 does not necessarily have to have at least one of the input device 201 and the display device 202.

[0021] External I / F 203 is an interface with external devices such as recording media 203a. Examples of recording media 203a include CD (Compact Disc), DVD (Digital Versatile Disc), SD memory card, USB memory card, etc.

[0022] The communication interface 204 is an interface for connecting to the communication network 30. The RAM 205 is a volatile semiconductor memory (storage device) that temporarily holds programs and data. The ROM 206 is a non-volatile semiconductor memory (storage device) that can retain programs and data even when the power is turned off. The auxiliary storage device 207 is, for example, a non-volatile storage device such as an HDD (Hard Disk Drive), SSD (Solid State Drive), or flash memory. The processor 208 is, for example, an arithmetic unit such as a CPU.

[0023] Note that the hardware configuration shown in Figure 3 is just one example, and the hardware configuration of the information providing device 20 is not limited to this. For example, the information providing device 20 may have multiple auxiliary storage devices 207 and multiple processors 208, it may not have some of the hardware shown, or it may have various other hardware components besides the hardware shown.

[0024] <Example of Functional Configuration> <User Terminal 10> An example of the functional configuration of the user terminal 10 according to this embodiment is shown in Figure 4. As shown in Figure 4, the user terminal 10 according to this embodiment has a health-related information acquisition unit 108, a health-related information transmission unit 109, and a display control unit 110. Each of these units is realized, for example, by processing that one or more programs installed on the user terminal 10 cause the processor 106 or the like to execute.

[0025] The health-related information acquisition unit 108 acquires the user's health-related information. Health-related information refers to various information related to the user's health. Health-related information includes personal characteristic information that represents various characteristics related to the user's health, and measurement information that is information that has been measured or acquired for various values related to the user's health. Here, personal characteristic information includes, for example, the user's age, current bias strength, gender, height, target weight, etc. On the other hand, measurement information includes, for example, steps taken, heart rate, weight, sleep time, calories burned, calories consumed, etc. Current bias strength is information that represents the strength of the user's current bias (i.e., time discounting). Current bias strength is not limited to two values, "strong" or "weak," but may be represented by a continuous value that represents the strength, for example.

[0026] Hereinafter, the calories burned and calories consumed included in the measurement information acquired by the health-related information acquisition unit 108 will be referred to as "actual calorie consumption value" and "actual calorie intake value," respectively. However, the actual calorie consumption value and actual calorie intake value do not necessarily have to accurately represent the actual values of calories burned and calories consumed. For example, they may be values of calories burned and calories consumed entered by the user, or values of calories burned and calories consumed predicted by some prediction method. Known prediction methods for predicting calories burned include, for example, methods for predicting calories burned from the number of steps or heart rate. Known prediction methods for predicting calories consumed include, for example, methods for predicting calories burned from the contents of a meal or images of that meal.

[0027] The health-related information transmission unit 109 transmits the health-related information acquired by the health-related information acquisition unit 108 to the information provision device 20.

[0028] The display control unit 110 transmits a request to acquire display information to the information providing device 20 and receives display information from the information providing device 20. The display control unit 110 also displays a screen that visualizes various information that can promote weight loss to achieve the target weight, based on the display information received from the information providing device 20. The display information includes various information that can promote weight loss to achieve the target weight (such as the predicted calorie consumption, predicted calorie intake, predicted calorie difference, cumulative predicted calorie difference, cumulative calorie difference, and number of stamps earned, as described later).

[0029] <Information Provisioning Device 20> Figure 5 shows an example of the functional configuration of the information provisioning device 20 according to this embodiment. As shown in Figure 5, the information provisioning device 20 according to this embodiment includes a health-related information receiving unit 210, a leading indicator calculation unit 211, a lagging indicator influence calculation unit 212, a stamp count calculation unit 213, a history information creation unit 214, and a display information transmission unit 215. Each of these units is realized, for example, by processing that one or more programs installed in the information provisioning device 20 cause a processor 208 or the like to execute.

[0030] Furthermore, the information providing device 20 according to this embodiment includes a health-related information storage unit 216 and a history information storage unit 217. Each of these storage units is implemented by a storage area such as an auxiliary storage device 207. At least one of the health-related information storage unit 216 and the history information storage unit 217 may be implemented by a storage area such as a storage device (e.g., a storage device of a database server) that is communicably connected to the information providing device 20.

[0031] The health-related information receiving unit 210 receives health-related information from the user terminal 10 and stores (saves) that health-related information in the health-related information storage unit 216.

[0032] The leading indicator calculation unit 211 calculates daily predicted calorie expenditure and calorie intake for a week from today to six days from now, based on the health-related information stored in the health-related information storage unit 216. However, calculating daily predicted calorie expenditure and calorie intake for a week is just one example; instead of "one week," a period such as "one month" or "one year" may be used. Also, instead of "daily," a period such as "every hour," "every six hours," or "every week" may be used.

[0033] The lagging indicator influence calculation unit 212 calculates the daily differential calorie forecast for a week from today to six days from now, based on the predicted calorie expenditure and predicted calorie intake calculated by the leading indicator calculation unit 211. The differential calorie forecast is the difference between the predicted calorie expenditure and the predicted calorie intake for the same day (specifically, the value obtained by subtracting the predicted calorie intake from the predicted calorie expenditure for the same day).

[0034] Furthermore, the lagging indicator influence calculation unit 212 calculates a cumulative differential calorie prediction value for each day of the week from today to six days later, which represents the cumulative value of the differential calorie prediction value from today to that day.

[0035] Furthermore, the lagging indicator effect calculation unit 212 calculates the cumulative difference between the actual calorie expenditure and actual calorie intake on the same day (specifically, the value obtained by subtracting the actual calorie intake from the actual calorie expenditure on the same day) (hereinafter referred to as the "cumulative difference calorie value").

[0036] The stamp count calculation unit 213 calculates the number of stamps earned, which represents the number of stamps earned by the user, based on the cumulative differential calorie value calculated by the lagging indicator influence calculation unit 212. The number of stamps earned is an evaluation value that succinctly assesses the influence of the cumulative differential calorie value on the lagging indicator. Generally, the energy (calories) required to burn 1 kg of fat is approximately 7200 kcal. For example, if a stamp is earned for every 1000 kcal, the user can know that they have successfully lost approximately 1 kg of weight by earning 7 stamps.

[0037] The history information creation unit 214 creates history information and then stores (saves) that history information in the history information storage unit 217. History information refers to information that represents the history of various information that can promote weight loss in order to achieve a target weight. History information includes, for example, the cumulative differential calorie value, the number of stamps acquired, the daily predicted calorie consumption value, the daily predicted calorie intake value, the daily predicted differential calorie value, and the daily predicted cumulative differential calorie value.

[0038] The display information transmission unit 215 receives a request to acquire display information from the user terminal 10, creates the display information, and then transmits it to the user terminal 10. The display information may include, in addition to the cumulative differential calorie value, the number of stamps acquired, the daily predicted calorie consumption value, the daily predicted calorie intake value, the daily predicted differential calorie value, and the daily predicted differential calorie value, it may also include the number of steps, heart rate, weight, sleep time, time series of actual calorie consumption values, time series of actual calorie intake values, etc. Furthermore, the display information may also include time series of the cumulative differential calorie value and time series of the predicted differential calorie value.

[0039] The health-related information storage unit 216 stores the health-related information received by the health-related information receiving unit 210. Specific examples of the health-related information stored in the health-related information storage unit 216 will be described later.

[0040] The history information storage unit 217 creates the history information stored by the history information creation unit 214. Specific examples of the history information stored in the history information storage unit 217 will be described later.

[0041] ≪Specific Examples of Health-Related Information≫ An example of health-related information stored in the health-related information storage unit 216 is shown in Figure 6. As shown in Figure 6, health-related information includes measurement information and personal characteristics information.

[0042] The measurement information includes, for example, user ID, date and time, steps taken, heart rate, weight, sleep duration, actual calorie expenditure, actual calorie intake, etc. The user ID is identification information that uniquely identifies the user. The date and time is the year, month, day, hour, and minute when the measurement information was created (or the year, month, day, hour, and minute when the measurement information was stored in the health-related information storage unit 216).

[0043] Personal characteristics information may include, for example, user ID, current bias level, age, gender, height, and target weight. Personal characteristics information may also include, for example, personality traits represented by the Big 5.

[0044] ≪Specific Examples of History Information≫ Figure 7 shows an example of history information stored in the history information storage unit 217. As shown in Figure 7, the history information includes user ID, date and time, cumulative differential calorie value, number of stamps acquired, predicted calorie consumption, predicted calorie intake, predicted differential calorie value, cumulative differential calorie prediction value, etc. Note that the date and time is the year, month, day, hour, and minute when the history information was created (or the year, month, day, hour, and minute when the history information was stored in the history information storage unit 217).

[0045] <Details of various processes> Below, we will describe some examples of various processes performed by the information provision system 1 according to this embodiment.

[0046] <<Storage of Personal Characteristics Information>> Below, an example of the process for storing a user's personal characteristics information in the health-related information storage unit 216 will be explained with reference to Figure 8. Steps S101 to S104 below are performed for each user.

[0047] The health-related information acquisition unit 108 of the user terminal 10 acquires the user's personal characteristics information (step S101). The health-related information acquisition unit 108 may acquire, for example, the current bias strength, age, gender, height, target weight, etc., which are entered or selected by the user. In this case, the current bias strength may be determined, for example, by presenting the user with a questionnaire that measures the current bias strength and analyzing the answers thereto. The user ID included in the personal characteristics information may be obtained from predetermined identification information (e.g., a number or string uniquely assigned to each user, email address, telephone number, etc.).

[0048] The health-related information transmission unit 109 of the user terminal 10 transmits the personal characteristics information acquired in step S101 to the information provision device 20 (step S102).

[0049] The health-related information receiving unit 210 of the information providing device 20 receives the personal characteristics information transmitted in step S102 (step S103).

[0050] The health-related information receiving unit 210 of the information providing device 20 stores the personal characteristics information received in step S103 in the health-related information storage unit 216 (step S104). As a result, the user's personal characteristics information is stored in the health-related information storage unit 216.

[0051] <<Storage of Measurement Information>> Below, an example of the process for storing a user's measurement information in the health-related information storage unit 216 will be explained with reference to Figure 9. The following steps S201 to S204 are executed, for example, at predetermined time intervals or periods (e.g., every day) for each user.

[0052] The health-related information acquisition unit 108 of the user terminal 10 acquires the user's measurement information (step S201). The health-related information acquisition unit 108 may acquire the number of steps, heart rate, weight, sleep time, actual calorie consumption, actual calorie intake, etc., by any method. For example, the health-related information acquisition unit 108 may acquire the number of steps, heart rate, and sleep time measured by the sensor 102. Alternatively, for example, the health-related information acquisition unit 108 may acquire the actual calorie consumption and actual calorie intake values entered or selected by the user, or it may acquire the actual calorie consumption and actual calorie intake values predicted by a predetermined prediction method. Furthermore, for example, the health-related information acquisition unit 108 may acquire the weight entered or selected by the user, or it may acquire the weight measured by a scale or the like.

[0053] Furthermore, when acquiring measurement information in step S201 above, information that has undergone a predetermined process may be acquired. For example, when acquiring heart rate, a process may be performed to calculate the average heart rate over a predetermined period, and then this average heart rate may be acquired as part of the measurement information.

[0054] The health-related information transmission unit 109 of the user terminal 10 transmits the measurement information acquired in step S201 to the information providing device 20 (step S202).

[0055] The health-related information receiving unit 210 of the information providing device 20 receives the measurement information transmitted in step S202 (step S203).

[0056] The health-related information receiving unit 210 of the information providing device 20 stores the measurement information received in step S203 in the health-related information storage unit 216 (step S204). As a result, the user's measurement information is stored in the health-related information storage unit 216.

[0057] <<Storage of History Information>> Below, an example of the process of creating history information for a certain user and then storing that history information in the history information storage unit 217 will be described with reference to Figure 10. The following steps S301 to S306 are performed, for example, every day for each user. However, performing them every day is just an example; for example, they may be performed at predetermined time intervals or periods.

[0058] The leading indicator calculation unit 211 of the information providing device 20 calculates the predicted daily calorie expenditure and calorie intake for one week from today to six days from now, based on the user's health-related information (step S301). The leading indicator calculation unit 211 calculates the predicted daily calorie expenditure and calorie intake for one week using a predetermined prediction method, with at least some of the information included in the user's health-related information as explanatory variables and the predicted daily calorie expenditure and calorie intake for one week as dependent variables. Various methods can be used as the prediction method, but for example, rule-based methods, regression analysis, machine learning (e.g., gradient boosting, LGBM (Light Gradient Boosting Machine), neural networks, etc.) can be used. For example, all or part of the following can be used as explanatory variables: step count, heart rate, weight, sleep time, actual calorie expenditure, actual calorie intake, current bias strength, age, gender, height, target weight, etc.

[0059] The following is the predicted calorie consumption value calculated in step S301 above, p i (i = 0, ..., 6), predict calorie intake value q i Let (i = 0, ..., 6). Here, p i (i = 0, ..., 6) represents the predicted calorie expenditure on day i, with today being day 0. Similarly, q i (i = 0, ..., 6) represents the predicted calorie intake for day i, with today being day 0.

[0060] In step S301 described above, at least some of the information included in the user's health-related information is used as explanatory variables. However, for example, in addition to this, at least some of the information included in the user's history information may also be used as explanatory variables. That is, for example, all or part of the differential calorie cumulative value, the number of acquired stamps, the predicted calorie consumption value, the predicted calorie intake value, the differential calorie prediction value, and the differential calorie prediction cumulative value included in the user's history information may be further used as explanatory variables.

[0061] The delayed index influence calculation unit 212 of the information providing device 20 calculates the differential calorie prediction value and the differential calorie prediction cumulative value for each day of one week from today to six days later based on the predicted calorie consumption value and the predicted calorie intake value calculated in step S302 above (step S302). The delayed index influence calculation unit 212, for example, calculates d i = p i - q i to calculate the differential calorie prediction value d i (i = 0,..., 6). Further, the delayed index influence calculation unit 212, for example, calculates the differential calorie prediction cumulative value s i (i = 0,..., 6) as follows.

[0062] s 0 = d 0 s 1 = d 0 + d 1 s 2 = d 0 + d 1 + d 2 ... s 6 = d 0 + d 1 + d 2 +... + d 6 Here, d i (i =i ←s i +i × ε × s i It may also be corrected as follows.

[0063] Note that the predicted differential calorie value d i d i If > 0, then the predicted calorie expenditure p for day i is... i The predicted calorie intake for day i is q. i This indicates that it exceeds [a certain value]. On the other hand, d i If < 0, then the predicted calorie consumption value for day i is p. i The predicted calorie intake for day i is q. i This indicates that it is below [a certain level].

[0064] Also, the predicted cumulative value of differential calories s i d is the predicted difference in calories up to day i. 0 , ..., d i Since it is a cumulative value, s i If > 0, then the predicted calorie consumption p up to day i is... 0 , ..., p i The sum of these is the predicted calorie intake q up to day i. 0 , ..., q i This indicates that it exceeds the sum of s. On the other hand, s i If < 0, the estimated calorie consumption p up to day i is... 0 , ..., p i The sum of these is the predicted calorie intake q up to day i. 0 , ..., q i This indicates that it is less than the sum of the two.

[0065] The lagging indicator influence calculation unit 212 of the information providing device 20 calculates the differential calorie cumulative value based on the actual calorie consumption and actual calorie intake values included in the user's measurement information that have not yet been used to calculate the differential calorie cumulative value, and the differential calorie cumulative value included in the user's latest history information (step S303). For example, if both the measurement information storage process and the history information storage process are performed every day, the lagging indicator influence calculation unit 212 calculates the differential calorie cumulative value based on the actual calorie consumption and actual calorie intake values included in the user's latest measurement information and the differential calorie cumulative value included in the user's latest history information. Specifically, let P and Q be the actual calorie consumption and actual calorie intake values included in the user's latest measurement information, and T be the differential calorie cumulative value included in the user's latest history information. The lagging indicator influence calculation unit 212 calculates the differential calorie cumulative value T by T ← (P - Q) + T.

[0066] The cumulative differential calorie value T is the cumulative value of the difference D (P - Q) between the actual calorie expenditure P and the actual calorie intake Q included in the same measurement information. Therefore, if T > 0, it means that the total calorie expenditure to date exceeds the total calorie intake to date. On the other hand, if T < 0, it means that the total calorie expenditure to date is less than the total calorie intake to date.

[0067] The stamp count calculation unit 213 of the information providing device 20 calculates the number of stamps acquired (step S304) based on the cumulative differential calorie value calculated in step S303. The stamp count calculation unit 213 calculates the number of stamps acquired K as the largest integer that does not exceed T / ΔT, for example, using a predetermined value ΔT. If the user wants to be informed that they have successfully lost approximately 1 kg by acquiring 7 stamps, ΔT = 1000 should be set.

[0068] The history information creation unit 214 of the information providing device 20 creates history information (step S305) based on the information calculated in steps S301 to S304 above. Specifically, the history information creation unit 214 creates history information based on the user's user ID, the current date and time, the cumulative differential calorie value T, the number of stamps acquired K, and the predicted calorie consumption value p. i (i = 0, ..., 6) and the predicted calorie intake value q i (i = 0, ..., 6) and the predicted differential calorie value d i (i = 0, ..., 6) and the cumulative value of the predicted differential calorie s i Create history information that includes (i = 0, ..., 6).

[0069] The history information creation unit 214 of the information providing device 20 stores the history information created in step S305 in the history information storage unit 217 (step S306). As a result, the user's history information is stored in the history information storage unit 217.

[0070] <Screen Display Processing> The following describes the process of displaying a screen on a user terminal 10 of a particular user, which visualizes various information that can promote weight loss to achieve a target weight, with reference to Figure 11. Steps S401 to S406 below are performed for each user.

[0071] The display control unit 110 of the user terminal 10 transmits a request to acquire display information to the information providing device 20 (step S401). The request to acquire display information includes at least the user ID of the user (or information that can identify the user ID of the user). The display control unit 110 may, for example, transmit a request to acquire display information to the information providing device 20 in response to the launch of an application that provides a screen visualizing various information that can promote weight loss to achieve a target weight (hereinafter also referred to as the "weight management support application").

[0072] The display information transmission unit 215 of the information providing device 20 receives the request to acquire the display information transmitted in step S401 (step S402).

[0073] The display information transmission unit 215 of the information providing device 20 creates display information based on the display information acquisition request received in step S402 (step S403). Specifically, the display information transmission unit 215 extracts the differential calorie cumulative value T, the number of stamps acquired K, and the calorie consumption prediction value p from the latest history information of the user ID included in the acquisition request. i (i = 0, ..., 6), predicted calorie intake q i (i = 0, ..., 6), predicted differential calorie value d i (i = 0, ..., 6) and the cumulative predicted value of differential calories s i The system obtains (i=0, ..., 6), etc., and creates display information that includes this information. In addition to this information, the display information transmission unit 215 may obtain the latest step count, latest heart rate, latest sleep time, time series of actual calorie consumption, and time series of actual calorie intake from the health-related information of the user ID, and create display information that further includes this information. The display information transmission unit 215 may also create display information that further includes the time series of differential calorie cumulative value and the time series of differential calorie predicted cumulative value.

[0074] The displayed information may include, for example, various types of information (cumulative difference in calories T, number of stamps earned K, estimated calorie consumption p). i (i = 0, ..., 6), predicted calorie intake q i (i = 0, ..., 6), predicted differential calorie value d i (i = 0, ..., 6), predicted cumulative value of differential calories s i The information may further include information defining the display methods for (i=0, ..., 6), such as steps, heart rate, sleep duration, time series of actual calorie expenditure, time series of actual calorie intake, time series of cumulative differential calorie value, time series of predicted differential calorie value, etc. Here, information defining the display methods refers to information that defines, for example, the arrangement, size, graph type, color, icon type, etc., when visualizing and displaying certain information.

[0075] Furthermore, the displayed information may include, in addition to the information described above, various other types of information that are visualized on the screen as described later (e.g., information for displaying face icons, information for displaying stamps, information for displaying gesture icons, etc.).

[0076] The display information transmission unit 215 of the information providing device 20 transmits the display information created in step S403 to the user terminal 10 that sent the acquisition request in step S402 (step S404).

[0077] The display control unit 110 of the user terminal 10 receives the display information transmitted in step S404 (step S405).

[0078] Based on the display information received in step S405, the display control unit 110 of the user terminal 10 displays a screen in which various information that can promote weight loss to achieve the target weight is visualized (step S406).

[0079] <Screen Examples> Below, the daily forecast screen, weekly forecast screen, and weekly performance screen will be described as examples of screens displayed in step S406 above. However, the daily forecast screen, weekly forecast screen, and weekly performance screen described below are all examples and are not limited to these. For example, the position of a display field on a certain screen may be changed, or the positional relationship between one display field and another may be swapped.

[0080] ≪Daily Forecast Screen≫ An example of the daily forecast screen is shown in Figure 12. The daily forecast screen 1100 shown in Figure 12 includes display fields 1110 to 1150.

[0081] Display field 1110 shows the differential calorie prediction value d 0=326 is displayed as "Today's Weight Loss Savings Prediction". Also, in display field 1110, the cumulative difference calorie value T = 8950 is displayed as "Cumulative". In this way, the value obtained by subtracting calories consumed from calories burned is expressed as the concept of "weight loss savings", and the predicted difference calorie value is presented to the user as "Today's Weight Loss Savings Prediction". This makes it possible for the user to know how much of a calorie deficit or surplus is predicted for today.

[0082] For example, the predicted differential calorie value d 0 Depending on the symbol, the display mode of the wallet icon 1111 may be varied. For example, d 0 If ≥ 0, the wallet icon 1111 is displayed in blue, while d 0 If the value is < 0, you may display the wallet icon 1111 in red.

[0083] Display field 1120 shows the estimated calorie consumption value p. 0 =2047 is displayed as "predicted calorie expenditure" in bar graph 1121, and the predicted calorie intake value q 0 = 1721 is displayed as "Predicted Calorie Intake" in bar graph 1122. Also, in display column 1120, the predicted difference in calories d 0 =326 is displayed as a dashed line 1123. Furthermore, in display field 1120, d 0 Since ≥ 0, a smiling face icon 1124 is displayed along with the message "Consumption is likely to exceed." Here, d 0 If the value is <0, the display area 1120 will show the message "Intake is likely to exceed consumption" instead of "Consumption is likely to exceed consumption," and a sad face icon will be displayed instead of a smiling face icon 1124. This allows the user to see the predicted calorie consumption value p 0 And, the predicted calorie intake value q 0 And the predicted difference in calories d 0 This makes it easy to visually grasp the difference, and as a result, it becomes possible to encourage the continuation of the actions necessary to achieve the target weight and to change those actions. In particular, the predicted difference in calories d 0By understanding this, it becomes possible to know the results of one's actions even if there is no change in the lagging indicator (i.e., weight), which can encourage the continuation of actions and behavioral changes necessary to achieve the target weight.

[0084] Note that the predicted differential calorie value d 0 The dashed line 1123 may be represented by a solid line, a filled line, or other similar display method. Also, the predicted calorie consumption value p 0 and predicted calorie intake value q 0 Instead of bar graphs 1121 and 1122, this may be represented by various graphs such as pie charts. For example, when displayed as a pie chart, the predicted calorie consumption value p 0 and predicted calorie intake value q 0 A pie chart where the sum of these is 100% shows the predicted calorie consumption p 0 The ratio and the predicted calorie intake q 0 It is conceivable to display the proportions of these values on a pie chart. Furthermore, the display area 1120 will show the predicted difference in calories d. 0 ga d 0 ≥ 0 or d 0 <Photos or icons indicating either 0 (e.g., gesture icons (thumb pointing up, thumb pointing down, etc.), icons resembling scales, etc.), text (e.g., "Your calorie balance for weight loss is on the right track!" or "Your calorie balance for weight loss is worsening!", etc.) may be displayed.

[0085] The display area 1130 shows the number of stamps earned, K=8, and a stamp icon corresponding to that number of stamps. This allows the user to visually confirm the number of stamps they have earned.

[0086] Display area 1140 shows today's steps, weight, sleep duration, heart rate, etc. This allows the user to visually check their health status for the day.

[0087] In the display column 1150, display components for transitioning to other screens are shown. The user can transition to the weekly prediction screen by selecting the "Weekly Prediction" icon 1151 and to the weekly actual result screen by selecting the "Weekly Actual Result" icon 152, respectively.

[0088] <<Weekly Prediction Screen>> An example of the weekly prediction screen is shown in FIG. 13. The weekly prediction screen 1200 shown in FIG. 13 includes display columns 1210 to 1260.

[0089] In the display column 1210, the predicted daily calorie consumption values p i (i = 0,..., 6) are shown as a bar graph 1211 i Similarly, in the display column 1210, the predicted daily calorie intake values q i (i = 0,..., 6) are shown as a bar graph 1212 i In addition, in the display column 1210, the cumulative predicted difference calorie value s i (i = 0,..., 6) is shown as a broken line 1213 i [[ID=...]] Furthermore, in the display column 1210, the difference between the cumulative predicted difference calorie value s i and the predicted calorie consumption value p i is shown as a bar graph 1214 i (i = 1,..., 6). As a result, the user can know the cumulative predicted difference calorie value s i [[ID=...]] (that is, the predicted increase or decrease in the "weight savings") over one week from today. For this reason, the user can know what kind of result the accumulation of current actions will have in the medium to long term (that is, whether the "weight savings" will increase or decrease), and as a result, it becomes possible to encourage the continuation or modification of actions necessary to achieve the target weight. In particular, by grasping the cumulative predicted difference calorie value s i , even if there is no change in the lagging indicator (that is, weight), it becomes possible to know the medium to long term influence (in other words, the influence on the lagging indicator) due to the accumulation of current actions, so that it becomes possible to encourage the continuation or modification of actions necessary to achieve the target weight.

[0090] In the display column 1220, the predicted difference calorie value d0 = 326 is displayed as the "Daily Savings Prediction for Losing Weight" and the accumulated difference calorie value T = 8950 is displayed as the "Total".

[0091] In the display column 1230, the predicted calorie consumption value p 0 = 2047 is the "Predicted Calorie Consumption" and the predicted calorie intake value q 0 = 1721 is displayed as the "Predicted Calorie Intake".

[0092] In the display column 1240, the number of stamps K = 8 obtained and the stamp icon corresponding to the number of stamps obtained are displayed.

[0093] In the display column 1250, the number of steps, weight, sleep time, heart rate, etc. for today are displayed.

[0094] In the display column of 1260, the display components for transitioning to other screens are displayed. The user can transition to the daily prediction screen by selecting the "Daily Prediction" icon 1261 and to the weekly performance screen by selecting the "Weekly Performance" icon 1262 respectively.

[0095] <<Weekly Performance Screen>> An example of the weekly performance screen is shown in FIGS. 14 and 15. The weekly performance screen 1300 shown in FIG. 14 includes display columns 1310 to 1330.

[0096] In the display column 1310, the time series of the accumulated difference calorie value is displayed as a line graph 1311 with "Actual: Savings for Losing Weight", and the time series of the predicted accumulated difference calorie value is displayed as a line graph 1312 with "Predicted: Savings for Losing Weight". Thus, the user can know the past accumulated difference calorie value and the predicted accumulated difference calorie value.

[0097] Also, in the display column 1310, the "Intake / Consumption" icon 1313 is displayed. By selecting the "Intake / Consumption" icon 1313, the user can display the display column 1410 of the weekly performance screen 1300 shown in FIG. 15 instead of the display column 1310.

[0098] In display area 1410, the time series of actual calorie expenditure is displayed as a line graph 1411 labeled "Actual: Expenditure," and the time series of actual calorie intake is displayed as a line graph 1412 labeled "Actual: Intake." Similarly, in display area 1410, the time series of predicted calorie expenditure is displayed as a line graph 1413 labeled "Predicted: Expenditure," and the time series of predicted calorie intake is displayed as a line graph 1413 labeled "Predicted: Intake." This allows the user to see past actual and predicted calorie expenditure, and past actual and predicted calorie intake.

[0099] Display area 1320 shows the number of stamps acquired, K=8, and a stamp icon corresponding to that number of stamps acquired.

[0100] Display area 1330 shows today's steps, weight, sleep duration, heart rate, etc.

[0101] <Screen transition examples when user terminal 10 is a smartwatch> When user terminal 10 is a wearable device such as a smartwatch, it may not be possible to display all of the various screens shown in Figures 12 to 15 due to the size of the display panel, etc. Therefore, the following describes screen transitions when user terminal 10 is a smartwatch. The following screen transition examples 1 to 4 enable the user to efficiently access various information even when using a user terminal 10 with a small display panel such as a wearable device.

[0102] ≪Screen Transition Example 1≫ As shown in Figure 16, if the user terminal 10 is a smartwatch, when a screen transition operation (e.g., touch operation) is performed on the first screen 2101, the screen transitions to the second screen 2102, and when a screen transition operation is performed on the second screen 2102, the screen transitions to the third screen 2103. Furthermore, when a screen transition operation is performed on the third screen 2103, the screen transitions to the first screen 2101. Here, the first screen 2101 displays the differential calorie prediction value d 0 The "Today's Weight Loss Prediction" is displayed, and the cumulative difference in calories T is displayed as "Cumulative". The second screen 2102 shows the predicted calorie expenditure p 0 and its bar graph, and the predicted calorie intake value q0 and its bar graph, and the predicted difference in calories d 0 The number of stamps earned and the corresponding stamp icons are displayed. Also, when a screen transition operation is performed on the sixth screen 2106, the screen transitions to the fourth screen 2104. Here, the fourth screen 2104 displays the number of stamps acquired and the corresponding stamp icon, and when the number of stamps increases or decreases, a message indicating this (e.g., "Your stamps have increased!", "Your stamps have decreased...") is displayed. The fifth screen 2105 displays the estimated calorie consumption value p 0 and its bar graph, and the predicted calorie intake value q 0 and its bar graph, and the predicted difference in calories d 0 And a dashed line representing it is displayed. On the sixth screen 2106, the time series of the cumulative differential calorie value is displayed as a line graph labeled "Actual: Weight Loss Savings," and the time series of the predicted cumulative differential calorie value is displayed as a line graph labeled "Prediction: Weight Loss Savings."

[0104] ≪Screen Transition Example 3≫ As shown in Figure 18, if the user terminal 10 is a smartwatch, when a screen transition operation is performed on the 7th screen 2107, the screen transitions to the 8th screen 2108, and when a screen transition operation is performed on the 8th screen 2108, the screen transitions to the 7th screen 2107. Here, the 7th screen 2107 displays today's weight. The 8th screen 2108 displays the estimated calorie consumption value p 0 and its bar graph, and the predicted calorie intake value q 0 and its bar graph, and the predicted difference in calories d 0 And a dashed line representing it is displayed.

[0105] ≪Screen Transition Example 4≫ As shown in Figure 19, if the user terminal 10 is a smartwatch, when a screen transition operation is performed on the 9th screen 2109, the screen transitions to the 10th screen 2110, and when a screen transition operation is performed on the 10th screen 2110, the screen transitions to the 9th screen 2109. Here, the 9th screen 2109 displays today's weight. The 10th screen 2110 displays the differential calorie prediction value d 0 This displays "Today's Weight Loss Prediction" and the cumulative difference in calories T as "Total".

[0106] <Examples of application other than weight loss or dieting> The following describes how the information provision system 1 according to the above embodiment can be applied to purposes other than weight loss or dieting. However, it goes without saying that the application examples described below are just a few examples.

[0107] ≪Blood Glucose Management≫ In managing blood glucose levels, an indicator called HbA1c (hemoglobin A1c) is well known. Since it takes about 1 to 2 months for this indicator to change, HbA1c is used as a lagging indicator. It is also known that carbohydrates such as sugars affect the rise in HbA1c, while exercise affects the decrease in HbA1c. Therefore, it is conceivable to use the amount of carbohydrates such as sugars and the amount of exercise as leading indicators.

[0108] In this case, for example, the display area 1110 of the daily forecast screen 1100 shown in Figure 12 could display the difference between the amount of carbohydrates expected to be consumed today and the standard intake, as well as the cumulative difference between the amount of carbohydrates actually consumed and the standard intake. In addition, for example, the percentage of carbohydrates in the PFC balance and the average blood glucose level for today could also be displayed. Note that the PFC balance is a nutritional balance index that considers 15% protein, 25% fat, and 60% carbohydrates to be ideal.

[0109] Furthermore, for example, the display area 1120 of the daily forecast screen 1100 shown in Figure 12 could display a score for the amount of carbohydrates expected to be consumed today, a score for the amount of exercise expected today, and the difference between them. In addition, for example, a pie chart of the PFC balance and a graph (bar graph or dashed line graph, etc.) showing the changes in blood glucose levels over time could be displayed. For example, in the graph showing the changes in blood glucose levels over time, the vertical axis could represent blood glucose levels and the horizontal axis could represent time (e.g., time with a unit time of 1 hour).

[0110] Furthermore, for example, in the display area 1130 of the daily forecast screen 1100 shown in Figure 12, it is conceivable to display the number of stamps earned and a stamp icon corresponding to the number of stamps earned, assuming that one stamp is earned when the amount of carbohydrates consumed in a single meal is below a specified amount. Alternatively, stamps could be earned based on the number of hypoglycemia episodes or the number of blood glucose spikes.

[0111] Furthermore, for example, the display area 1140 of the daily forecast screen 1100 shown in Figure 12 could display various related indicators related to blood glucose management. Examples of related indicators include the latest HbA1c measurement, the latest estimated HbA1c value, carbohydrate intake (in grams, etc.), information on meal times to prevent excessive time between meals (e.g., time of the previous meal, planned time of the next meal, etc.), information on snacks, information on alcohol intake, and information related to exercise habits.

[0112] ≪Education and Learning≫ In education and learning, for example, passing (or the likelihood of passing) entrance examinations or qualification examinations will be used as lagging indicators. On the other hand, the number of problems solved, the number of pages, and the study time will be used as leading indicators, as will the time spent skipping studying due to play, etc.

[0113] In this case, for example, the display area 1110 of the daily prediction screen 1100 shown in Figure 12 could display the difference between the predicted number of problems or pages to be solved today, the predicted study time, etc., and the criteria for those, as well as the cumulative difference between the actual number of problems or pages solved, the study time, etc., and the criteria for those.

[0114] Furthermore, for example, the display area 1120 of the daily prediction screen 1100 shown in Figure 12 could display a score representing the number of problems or pages expected to be solved today, the predicted study time, etc., a score representing the time expected to be spent slacking off due to play, etc., and the difference between these values. In addition, for example, the number of problems or pages that need to be completed today, the study time, the number of problems or pages that have already been completed today, and the study time could also be displayed.

[0115] Furthermore, for example, in the display area 1130 of the daily prediction screen 1100 shown in Figure 12, it is conceivable to display the number of stamps earned and a stamp icon corresponding to the number of stamps earned, assuming that one stamp is earned for each predetermined number of problems, pages, or study time. Alternatively, for example, a stamp could be earned when the amount of work to be completed on a given day is achieved.

[0116] Furthermore, for example, the display area 1140 of the daily forecast screen 1100 shown in Figure 12 could display various relevant indicators related to education and learning. Examples of relevant indicators include the number of questions, the number of pages, study time, information on the progress of each subject, and the number of remaining days of summer vacation.

[0117] Furthermore, lagging indicators such as test scores, the amount of summer homework, and standard scores (standard scores for each subject, and overall standard scores) can also be used. Additionally, if the subjects of the leading indicators differ, different leading indicators may be used. For example, the study time for mathematics and the study time for English may be used as different leading indicators.

[0118] ≪Lifestyle Management≫ It is known that the more healthy lifestyle factors a person has, the longer they can survive disease-free (Reference 1). Therefore, in lifestyle management, it is conceivable to use the number of years of disease-free survival as a lagging indicator and multiple lifestyle factors (e.g., a six-dimensional vector composed of six indicators: smoking level, obesity level, physical activity level, alcohol consumption level, dietary balance, and sleep duration) as leading indicators.

[0119] In this case, for example, the display area 1120 of the daily forecast screen 1100 shown in Figure 12 could display a radar chart, pie chart, bar graph, etc., representing each lifestyle factor with a prediction score (e.g., a score expressed from -1 (poor) to +1 (optimal)). For example, when using a radar chart, it is conceivable to visualize the score of each lifestyle factor using six axes: smoking level, obesity level, physical activity level, alcohol consumption level, dietary balance, and sleep duration.

[0120] Furthermore, for example, in the display area 1130 of the daily prediction screen 1100 shown in Figure 12, it is conceivable that the number of stamps earned and a stamp icon corresponding to the number of stamps earned would be displayed, assuming that stamps are earned when the actual score improves or when the actual scores for each lifestyle factor reach their optimal levels.

[0121] Furthermore, for example, the display area 1140 of the daily forecast screen 1100 shown in Figure 12 could display various related indicators related to lifestyle habits. Examples of related indicators include the number of cigarettes smoked, BMI, information related to exercise habits, and the amount of alcohol consumed.

[0122] <Summary> As described above, the information provision system 1 according to this embodiment can provide users with information that promotes actions to achieve goals evaluated by lagging indicators, targeting actions that need to be taken over the long term. As a result, users can continuously take actions to achieve their goals, thereby increasing the likelihood of achieving those goals.
