Description

COMPOSITION FOR CARING FOR AND / OR MAKING UP KERATIN MATERIALSTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a composition. Preferably, the present invention relates to a composition for caring for and / or making up keratin materials. The present invention also relates to a process for caring for and / or making up keratin materials.BACKGROUND ART

[0002] Compositions for caring for and / or making up the skin and / or the lips are produced to satisfy the need of caring for and / or making up of the skin and / or the lips. In particular, consumers are looking for a product for caring for and making up the lips, with good conditioning of the lips. It is known to formulate products such as lip gloss, lip oil, or other types of anhydrous lip compositions for the purpose of caring for and / or making up the lips.

[0003] Currently, the artisans are devoted to developing a stable and colored lip formulation. It is desired that the oil base in the lip formulation can stably suspend colorants, including various dyes and pigments, even for a long period. However, there are challenges to produce such lip formulations, which can avoid appearing colorant sedimentation earlier, especially at an elevated temperature.

[0004] Therefore, there is a need for a composition, preferably for caring for and / or making up keratin materials, especially the lips, which comprises at least one colorant and is stable when being stored for a long time, e.g., 15 days or longer, even at an elevated temperature, e.g., 45℃.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The inventors have found that such a need can be achieved by the composition according to the present invention.

[0008] (b) at least one thickener having a melting point of no lower than 55℃; and

[0009] (c) at least one colorant.

[0010] The composition according to the present invention is stable when being stored for a long time, e.g., 15 days or longer, even at an elevated temperature, e.g., 45℃.

[0011] According to a second aspect, the present invention provides a process for caring for and / or making up keratin materials, preferably the lips, comprising: applying the composition according to the first aspect onto the keratin materials.

[0062] According to the present invention, the thickeners may independently be semi-crystalline or crystalline lipophilic polymers.

[0063] Preferably, the thickener is chosen from semi-crystalline polymers. The term “semi-crystalline polymer” means polymers comprising a crystallizable portion, such as a crystallizable pendent and / or end chain or a crystallizable block in the backbone and / or at the ends, and an amorphous portion in the backbone, and having a first-order reversible temperature of change of phase, preferably of melting (solid-liquid transition) . When the crystallizable portion is in the form of a crystallizable block of the polymer backbone, the amorphous portion of the polymer is in the form of an amorphous block; the semi-crystalline polymer is, in this case, a block copolymer, for example of the diblock, triblock or multiblock type, comprising at least one crystallizable block and at least one amorphous block. The term “block” generally means at least five identical repeating units. The term “block copolymer of multiblock type” means there are at least four blocks in the block copolymer. The crystallizable block (s) are then of different chemical nature from the amorphous block (s) .

[0064] Advantageously, the semi-crystalline polymer (s) to which the present invention applies has a number-average molecular mass of greater than or equal to 1000.

[0065] More advantageously, the semi-crystalline polymer (s) to which the present invention applies has a number-average molecular mass ranging from 2000 to 800 000, preferably from 3000 to 500 000, more preferably from 4000 to 150 000, still more preferably from 4000 to 100 000, and even more preferably from 5700 to 99 000.

[0066] For the purposes of the present invention, the expression “crystallizable chain or block” means a chain or block which, if it were obtained alone, would change from the amorphous state to the crystalline state reversibly, depending on whether the temperature is above or below the melting point. For the purposes of the present invention, a “chain” in the term "crystallizable chain" is a group of atoms, which are pendent or lateral relative to the polymer backbone. A “block” in the term "crystallizable block" is a group of atoms belonging to the backbone, this group constituting one of the repeating units of the polymer. Advantageously, the “crystallizable chain” is a chain containing at least 6 carbon atoms.

[0067] Preferably, the crystallizable block (s) or chain (s) of the semi-crystalline polymers represent at least 30%of the total weight of each polymer and preferably at least 40%. The semi-crystalline polymers of the present invention containing crystallizable blocks are diblock, triblock or multiblock polymers. They may be obtained via polymerization of a  monomer containing reactive double bonds (or ethylenic bonds) or via polycondensation. When the semi-crystalline polymers of the present invention are polymers containing crystallizable chains, these crystallizable chains are advantageously in random or statistical form.

[0068] Preferably, the semi-crystalline polymers that may be used in the thickeners are of synthetic origin. Moreover, they do not comprise a polysaccharide backbone. In general, the crystallizable units (chains or blocks) of the semi-crystalline polymers according to the invention originate from monomer (s) containing crystallizable block (s) or chain (s) , used for the manufacture of the semi-crystalline polymers.
