[0002] Some facial cosmetic foundations are known to have longwear properties for lasting an extended time on a user's face without significantly wearing off as compared to regular wear foundations. These longwear properties also include transfer resistance such that the foundations are not invariantly transferred onto clothing or other unintended surfaces. Such longwear foundations achieve these beneficial properties by utilizing various silicone compounds within the formulation. These silicone compounds may be or include volatile silicone oils consist of cyclic and linear molecules having a viscosity of less than 5 cst (e.g., cyclomethicone (D4-D6) , low molecular weight dimethicone) and / or silicone film formers (e.g., trimethylsiloxysilicate resin or other MQ resins and / or polymers or silicone elastomers). Unfortunately, these silicone oils, silicone resins, and other silicon materials are not considered to be within the cosmetic industry's standard for or meaning of "clean beauty ingredients" in cosmetic formulations.

In one or more embodiments, a cosmetic composition is provided and contains water, a hydrocarbon component, an emulsifier, dextrin isostearate, and a polycyclopentadiene composition. The polycyclopentadiene composition contains a first polycyclopentadiene mixture containing a first hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene and squalene and a second polycyclopentadiene mixture containing a second hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene and isododecane.

[0013] In one or more embodiments, a cosmetic composition is provided and contains dextrin isostearate and hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene. The cosmetic compositions of the present disclosure may be water-in-oil emulsions including water, a hydrocarbon component, an emulsifier, dextrin isostearate, and a polycyclopentadiene composition. The cosmetic compositions may be utilized as an improved facial foundation, as well as other cosmetic compositions which provide hydration, sebum control, and enhanced longwear properties without the use of silicone materials. Cosmetic compositions of the present disclosure may be emulsions that are storage stable for extended periods of time with reduced or eliminated degradation. It has been surprising and unexpectedly discovered that the cosmetic compositions of dextrin isostearate and hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene may provide all of these aforementioned benefits during use on the skin including on the facial skin. Thus, when applied to the skin, the cosmetic compositions of the present disclosure hydrates the skin, reduces or controls oil on the skin, and provides longwear properties while maintaining a formulation which is completely free of or substantially free of silicone materials.

A cosmetic composition, comprising: water; a hydrocarbon component; an emulsifier; dextrin isostearate; and a polycyclopentadiene composition, wherein the polycyclopentadiene composition comprises: a first polycyclopentadiene mixture comprising a first hydrogenated poly cyclopentadiene and squalene; and a second polycyclopentadiene mixture comprising a second hydrogenated poly cyclopentadiene and isododecane.

2. The cosmetic composition of claim 1, wherein the first poly cyclopentadiene mixture comprises the first hydrogenated poly cyclopentadiene in a range from about 35 wt% to about 65 wt% and the squalene in a range from about 35 wt% to about 65 wt%.

3. The cosmetic composition of claim 1, wherein the second poly cyclopentadiene mixture comprises the second hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene in a range from about 50 wt% to about 85 wt% and the isododecane in a range from about 15 wt% to about 50 wt%.

4. The cosmetic composition of claim 1, wherein: the first polycyclopentadiene mixture comprises the first hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene in a range from about 45 wt% to about 55 wt% and the squalene in a range from about 45 wt% to about 55 wt%; and the second polycyclopentadiene mixture comprises the second hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene in a range from about 60 wt% to about 80 wt% and the isododecane a range from about 20 wt% to about 40 wt%.

5. The cosmetic composition of claim 1, wherein a weight ratio of the first polycyclopentadiene mixture to the second polycyclopentadiene mixture is in a range from about 0.8:1.2 to about 1.2:0.8 within the cosmetic composition.Attorney Docket No.: SHIS / 0003PC6. The cosmetic composition of claim 1, further comprising a total poly cyclopentadiene in a range from about 1.5 wt% to about 6 wt%, wherein the total poly cyclopentadiene has a combined weight of the first and second hydrogenated polycyclopentadienes.

The cosmetic composition of claim 1, wherein a weight ratio of the dextrin isostearate to a total polycyclopentadiene is in a range from about 1 : 1 to about 2: 1 within the cosmetic composition, and wherein the total polycyclopentadiene has a combined weight of the first and second hydrogenated polycyclopentadienes.

8. The cosmetic composition of claim 1, wherein a weight ratio of the dextrin isostearate to the poly cyclopentadiene composition is in a range from about 0.6: 1 to about 1:1 within the cosmetic composition.

9. The cosmetic composition of claim 1, further comprising: the dextrin isostearate in a range from about 2 wt% to about 6 wt%; and the polycyclopentadiene composition in a range from about 3 wt% to about 7 wt%.

10. The cosmetic composition of claim 1, wherein the cosmetic composition is completely free of or substantially free of silicones.

11. The cosmetic composition of claim 10, wherein the cosmetic composition is further free of or substantially free of trimethylsiloxysilicate.

12. The cosmetic composition of claim 1, further comprising the water in a range from about 18 wt% to about 40 wt%.

13. A cosmetic composition, comprising: water; a hydrocarbon component; an emulsifier; dextrin isostearate; andAttorney Docket No.: SHIS / 0003PC a poly cyclopentadiene composition comprising a total poly cyclopentadiene, wherein a weight ratio of the dextrin isostearate to the total poly cyclopentadiene is in a range from about 1.1:1 to about 1.5: 1 within the cosmetic composition.

The cosmetic composition of claim 13, wherein the poly cyclopentadiene composition comprises: a first polycyclopentadiene mixture comprising a first hydrogenated poly cyclopentadiene and squalene; and a second polycyclopentadiene mixture comprising a second hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene and isododecane; wherein the total polycyclopentadiene has a combined weight of the first and second hydrogenated polycyclopentadienes.

15. The cosmetic composition of claim 14, further comprises the total polycyclopentadiene in a range from about 1.5 wt% to about 6 wt%.

16. The cosmetic composition of claim 14, wherein: the first polycyclopentadiene mixture comprises the first hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene in a range from about 35 wt% to about 65 wt% and the squalene in a range from about 35 wt% to about 65 wt%; and the second polycyclopentadiene mixture comprises the second hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene in a range from about 50 wt% to about 85 wt% and the isododecane in a range from about 15 wt% to about 50 wt%.

17. The cosmetic composition of claim 14, wherein a weight ratio of the first poly cyclopentadiene mixture to the second polycyclopentadiene mixture is in a range from about 0.8:1.2 to about 1.2:0.8 within the cosmetic composition.

18. The cosmetic composition of claim 13, wherein a weight ratio of the dextrin isostearate to the poly cyclopentadiene composition is in a range from about 0.6: 1 to about 1:1 within the cosmetic composition.Attorney Docket No.: SHIS / 0003PC19. The cosmetic composition of claim 13, further comprising: the dextrin isostearate in a range from about 2 wt% to about 6 wt%; and the polycyclopentadiene composition in a range from about 3 wt% to about 7 wt%.

20. The cosmetic composition of claim 13, wherein the cosmetic composition is completely free of or substantially free of silicones.

21. A cosmetic composition, comprising: water; a hydrocarbon component; an emulsifier; dextrin isostearate; and a poly cyclopentadiene composition comprising hydrogenated polycyclopentadiene; wherein the cosmetic composition is completely free of or substantially free of silicones.

22. The cosmetic composition of claim 21, wherein the cosmetic composition is also free of or substantially free of trimethylsiloxysilicate.

23. A method comprising treating skin by applying the cosmetic composition according to any one of claims 1 -22 to the skin.
