Description

Polyolefin resin composition and molded article produced therefrom

[0001] The present invention relates to a polyolefin resin composition and a molded article produced therefrom. More specifically, the present invention relates to a polyolefin resin composition having excellent adhesion strength to a polar substrate, adhesion strength to a polar substrate after high-temperature thermal history, moldability, and appearance characteristics, and having reduced off-odor, and a molded article produced therefrom.

[0002]

[0003] Multilayer laminated packaging materials are widely used for packaging contents where quality preservation is critical, such as food, pharmaceuticals, and electronic devices. Laminates used for this purpose are generally composed of a polar substrate layer with excellent barrier properties (blocking gases such as oxygen) and a non-polar polyolefin-based resin layer with excellent moisture resistance and chemical resistance.

[0004] Among polyolefin resins, polypropylene resin is widely used as a thermoplastic molding material due to its excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and rigidity. However, it is common practice to use acid modification to achieve adhesion to polar substrate layers. Additionally, elastomers are typically blended with polypropylene resin to impart flexibility and wettability, thereby achieving improved adhesion. Furthermore, since polypropylene resin is a material with insufficient gas barrier properties, it is common practice to use it in a multilayer laminate form with polar materials to compensate for this. However, because polypropylene resin is a non-polar material, it has a lack of adhesion to polar materials with excellent gas barrier properties, such as polyamide resins, ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymers, and metals.

[0005] To address these issues, acid-modified polypropylene, manufactured using a technique that modifies polypropylene resin with unsaturated carboxylic acids or their derivatives, has been widely used in the past. However, since using such acid-modified polypropylene alone results in insufficient flexibility and wettability, it is typically used in combination with polypropylene resin, acid-modified polypropylene, and an elastomer component when applied as an adhesive resin. Nevertheless, even when using an elastomer, there is a risk that adhesion properties may deteriorate and off-odors may occur under heating conditions such as hot air ovens or microwave ovens.

[0006] Therefore, there is a need to develop a polyolefin resin composition that exhibits excellent adhesion strength to polar substrates, adhesion strength to polar substrates after high-temperature thermal history, moldability, and appearance characteristics, while reducing off-odor.
