Terminal and Base Station
[0001] The present invention relates to a terminal and a base station in a wireless communication system.
[0002] In 3GPP (Registered Trademark) (3rd Generation Partnership Project) Rel-19, as a further improvement of LTM (Lower layer (L1 / L2)-Triggered Mobility), in addition to RACH based LTM, Conditional LTM that supports RACH-less LTM is being discussed.
[0003] 3GPP TS 38.300 V18.2.0(2024-06)3GPP TS 38.401 V18.2.0(2024-06)
[0004] However, for example, in Conditional LTM, the operations of the terminal and the base station were not clear. As an example, in Conditional LTM, it was not clearly defined when and how the terminal should start monitoring the execution condition. Therefore, there is a possibility that the terminal cannot execute LTM appropriately.
[0005] The terminal in the present embodiment includes a receiving unit that receives a notification including at least one of cells or beams that are candidates for switching from a base station, and a control unit that switches at least one of the cells or beams when a predetermined execution condition is satisfied. The control unit starts monitoring the predetermined execution condition based on the reception of the notification.
[0006] According to the present embodiment, the operations of the terminal and the base station in LTM are clarified, and appropriate execution of LTM is enabled.

[0008] This embodiment will be described below with reference to the drawings. Note that the embodiments described below are examples, and the embodiments to which the present invention applies are not limited to those described below.
[0009] The wireless communication system of this embodiment operates using existing technology. Existing technology is, for example, wireless communication technology based on communication standards such as the 3GPP standard. Existing technology is, for example, NR (New Radio), but is not limited to existing NR. As used herein, the term "NR" has a broad meaning that includes NR (5G) and later systems (e.g., 6G), unless otherwise specified.
[0010] In the embodiments described below, terms such as SS (Synchronization signal), PSS (Primary SS), SSS (Secondary SS), PBCH (Physical broadcast channel), PRACH (Physical random access channel), PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel), PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel), PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control Channel), and PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared Channel), which are used in existing LTE systems, will be used. This is for convenience of description, and similar signals, functions, etc., may be called by other names. In NR, the above terms will be referred to as SS, PSS, SSS, PBCH, PRACH, etc., without any particular distinction from LTE.
[0011] In this embodiment, the duplex method may be a TDD (Time Division Duplex) method, an FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) method, or any other method (for example, a Flexible Duplex).
[0012] In this embodiment, "configuring" wireless parameters means either pre-configuring predetermined values, or configuring wireless parameters notified by the base station 10 or terminal 20.
[0013] Figure 1 shows an example of the configuration of a wireless communication system in this embodiment. The wireless communication system in this embodiment includes a base station 10 and a terminal 20, as shown in Figure 1. Although Figure 1 shows one base station 10 and one terminal 20, this is an example, and there may be multiple base stations 10 and terminals 20.
[0014] Base station 10 is a communication device that provides one or more cells and communicates wirelessly with terminal 20. The physical resources of the wireless signal are defined in the time domain and the frequency domain. The time domain may be defined by the number of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols, and the frequency domain may be defined by the number of subcarriers or resource blocks. Base station 10 transmits synchronization signals and system information to terminal 20. Synchronization signals are, for example, PSS and SSS. System information is transmitted, for example, via PBCH and is also called broadcast information. Synchronization signals and system information may also be called SSB (SS / PBCH block). As shown in Figure 1, base station 10 transmits control signals or data to terminal 20 via DL (Downlink) and receives control signals or data from terminal 20 via UL (Uplink). Both base station 10 and terminal 20 are capable of transmitting and receiving signals using beamforming. Furthermore, both base station 10 and terminal 20 are capable of applying MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication to DL or UL. Furthermore, both the base station 10 and the terminal 20 may communicate via secondary cells (SCell) and primary cells (PCell) using Carrier Aggregation (CA). In addition, the terminal 20 may communicate via the primary cell of base station 10 and the primary secondary cell group cell (PSCell) of another base station 10 using Dual Connectivity (DC).
[0015] Base station 10 may also be referred to as a RAN (Radio Access Network) node. Base station 10 is, for example, a gNodeB (gNB) in NR.
[0016] Terminal 20 is a communication device equipped with wireless communication capabilities, such as a UE (User Equipment), smartphone, mobile phone, tablet, wearable device, or M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication module. As shown in Figure 1, Terminal 20 receives control signals or data from the base station 10 via DL and transmits control signals or data to the base station 10 via UL, thereby utilizing various communication services provided by the wireless communication system. Terminal 20 also receives various reference signals transmitted from the base station 10 and performs propagation path quality measurements based on the reception results of these reference signals.
[0017] In the following explanation, " / " means "and / or" unless otherwise specified, or unless the context makes it clear that it has a different meaning.
[0018] In the following explanation, UE will be described as an example of a terminal, and gNB will be described as an example of a base station.
[0019] 3GPP Rel-18 introduced LTM (Lower layer (L1 / L2)-Triggered Mobility) as a technology to achieve low-latency, seamless communication with fast-moving UEs. LTM is a technology for high-speed cell switching from source cells to target cells, and Rel-18 specifies RACH-based LTM.
[0020] 3GPP Rel-19 discusses Conditional LTM as a further improvement to LTM. Conditional LTM supports RACH-less LTM in addition to RACH-based LTM. RACH-less LTM allows the UE to connect to the target cell without sending a RACH preamble, further reducing cell switching delays.
[0021] In Conditional LTM, the UE acquires the TA (Timing Advance) values of multiple candidate cells in advance through Early TA (Timing Advance) acquisition. In Rel-18 LTM, the validity of TA values was managed on the network side, but in Rel-19 conditional LTM, the UE is required to guarantee the validity of TA values.
[0022] Two methods are being discussed for managing the validity of TA values on the UE side.
[0023] Method 1: Maintain the TA timer on the UE side.
[0024] Method 2: If the change in the L1 measurement result is below the threshold, the TA value is considered valid.
[0025] However, in neither method did the behavior of the UE when the TA value was invalidated being clearly defined.
[0026] Furthermore, the following two options are being discussed in the Rel-19 conditional LTM:
[0027] In Option 1, as shown in Figure 2, the network side determines potential candidate cells / beams based on L1 / L3 measurement reports.
[0028] In Option 2, as shown in Figure 3, the UE determines potential candidate target cells / beams and reports them to the source cell.
[0029] Figure 2 is a sequence diagram showing the operation of the wireless communication system in Option 1 described above. As shown in Figure 2, in step S11, LTM preparation is performed. In step S12, Early TA acquisition is performed. In step S13, the UE sends L1 / L3 measurement reporting to the Source gNB. In step S14, the Source gNB determines potential candidate target cells / beams.
[0030] In step S15, the Source gNB sends a Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams to the Target gNB 10-2. In the example in Figure 2, the Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams shows targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, and (UL)TCIstate#2.
[0031] In step S16, the Target gNB prepares the radio resources (e.g., dynamic grant) for the UE's first uplink transmission.
[0032] In step S17, Source gNB sends a notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2) to the UE.
[0033] In step S18, the UE decides to switch to the target cell / beam when the Execution condition (for example, for targetConifgID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1) is met. In step S19, the UE performs the first uplink transmission to the Target gNB.
[0034] Figure 3 is a sequence diagram showing the operation of the wireless communication system in option 2 described above.
[0035] In step S21, LTM preparation is performed. In step S22, Early TA acquisition is performed. In step S23, the UE sends L1 / L3 measurement reporting (potential candidate target cells / beams) to the Source gNB.
[0036] In step S24, Source gNB determines potential candidate target cells / beams.
[0037] In step S25, the Source gNB sends a notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2)) to the Target gNB 10-2.
[0038] In step S26, the UE starts monitoring the execution condition.
[0039] In step S27, when the Execution condition (for example, for targetConifgID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1) is satisfied, the UE determines to switch to the target cell / beam. In step S28, the UE performs a First uplink transmission to the Target gNB.
[0040] In the above-mentioned Option 1, the Source gNB needs to determine potential candidate target cells / beams based on the L1 / L3 measurement reporting from the UE and notify the UE. However, it was not clearly defined when and how the UE should start monitoring the execution condition. Therefore, there is a possibility that the UE cannot execute LTM properly.
[0041] Furthermore, the method of combining or coexisting the Option 1 and Option 2 methods, and the method of coexisting Option 1 or Option 2 with the legacy Rel-18 LTM were not clearly defined either.
[0042] According to this embodiment, the operations of the terminal and the base station in LTM are clarified, enabling proper execution of LTM.
[0043] The examples in this embodiment may be executed independently of each other, or any combination of multiple examples may be executed.
[0044] (First Embodiment) According to the first embodiment, in the conditional LTM where the UE is required to manage the validity of the TA value, the operation of the UE when the TA value is invalid (not valid) is clarified.
[0045] According to the first embodiment, in conditional LTM, if the TA value held for each candidate cell in the UE becomes invalid, the UE may fallback to RACH based LTM. The UE 20 may trigger the RACH based LTM for fallback to the RACH based LTM.
[0046] For fallback to the RACH based LTM, dedicated RACH resources for fallback to the RACH based LTM may be set in advance for each candidate cell for the UE 20 from the network.
[0047] According to the first embodiment, in conditional LTM, if the TA value held for each candidate cell in the UE 20 becomes invalid, the UE 20 may notify the network that the TA value has become invalid. The notification that the TA value has become invalid may be transmitted for each candidate cell.
[0048] The network may instruct the UE 20 to perform PDCCH ordered RACH again in the candidate cell where the TA value has become invalid. After the UE 20 transmits a RACH preamble to the target DU, the target DU may calculate a new TA value, send it to the source DU via the CU, and the source DU may send the new TA value to the UE 20 in a new MAC CE. The transmission of the new TA value may be performed for each candidate cell.
[0049] According to the first embodiment, in the monitoring of the execution condition, the UE 20 may exclude the candidate cells / beams in which the TA value has become invalid from the target of the monitoring of the execution condition. That is, only the candidate cells / beams in which the TA value is valid may be the target of the monitoring of the execution condition.
[0050] (Second Embodiment) If the execution condition is met before the UE starts monitoring the execution condition and receives a potential candidate target cells / beams notification from the network (Source gNB), the Target gNB cannot determine which cell / beams the transmission from the UE will take place on, and therefore cannot secure radio resources for the first UL transmission. As a result, the UE may not be able to send the first UL transmission to the Target gNB.
[0051] (Example 1) According to Example 1 of the second embodiment, UE 20 does not perform execution condition monitoring before receiving potential candidate target cells / beams notification. That is, according to Example 1, UE 20 may start monitoring execution condition triggered by receiving potential candidate target cells / beams notification.
[0052] For example, UE 20 may implicitly start monitoring the execution condition.
[0053] For example, a potential candidate target cells / beams notification may explicitly include an instruction to start monitoring the execution condition. Upon receiving this instruction, UE 20 may begin monitoring the execution condition.
[0054] Figure 4 is a sequence diagram showing an example of the operation of the wireless communication system in Example 1.
[0055] In step S101, LTM preparation is performed. In LTM preparation, for example, initial setup and parameter exchange for performing LTM are carried out.
[0056] In step S102, Early TA acquisition is performed. Early TA acquisition is a procedure for obtaining TA values early. In Early TA acquisition, UE 20 acquires the TA of, for example, Target gNB 10-2 in advance to ensure smooth cell switching.
[0057] In step S103, UE 20 transmits an L1 / L3 measurement report to Source gNB 10-1. The L1 / L3 measurement report includes measurement results such as the received signal intensity and / or received quality of the surrounding cells / beams measured by the UE.
[0058] In step S104, Source gNB 10-1 determines potential candidate target cells / beams. Based on the measurement results reported from UE 20 and the network load status, Source gNB 10-1 determines candidate cells / beams for switching. Source gNB 10-1 selects the optimal Target gNB 10-2 from among the multiple candidates.
[0059] In step S105, Source gNB 10-1 sends Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams to Target gNB 10-2. In the example in Figure 4, potential candidate target cells / beams are represented by targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, and (UL)TCIstate#2.
[0060] In step S106, Target gNB 10-2 prepares radio resources (e.g., dynamic grant) for the UE's first UL transmission. This is the process by which Target gNB 10-2 prepares radio resources for communication with UE 20. Dynamic grant is a radio resource that is dynamically allocated for data transmission.
[0061] In step S107, Source gNB 10-1 sends a notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2) to UE 20.
[0062] In step S108, UE 20 begins monitoring the execution condition. UE 20 continuously monitors the necessary information to determine whether the execution condition is met. The execution condition is the condition under which a cell change is triggered by signaling in the L1 / L2 layers. The execution condition may be determined based on, for example, the following factors:
[0063] Signal Strength: The signal strength of the serving cell and the target cell are compared, and a cell change is triggered if the signal strength of the target cell is stronger than a certain level.
[0064] Signal Quality: The signal quality of the serving cell and the target cell are compared, and a cell change is triggered if the signal quality of the target cell is above a certain level.
[0065] Interference Level: The interference levels of the serving cell and the target cell are compared, and a cell change is triggered if the interference level of the target cell is below a certain level.
[0066] Load Status: The load status of the serving cell and the target cell is compared, and a cell change is triggered if the load on the target cell is lower.
[0067] In step S109, UE 20 decides to switch to the target cell / beam when the execution condition (for example, for targetConifgID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1) is met.
[0068] In step S110, UE 20 performs a First uplink transmission to Target gNB 10-2. The First uplink transmission is the first uplink data transmission that UE 20 makes to Target gNB 10-2 after cell / beam switching. This transmission initiates communication between UE 20 and Target gNB 10-2.
[0069] (Example 2) Example 2 of the second embodiment clarifies the method of coexistence / combination of the two options in the Rel-19 conditional LTM described above.
[0070] According to Example 2, after the completion of LTM preparation, UE 20 may start a new timer after sending L1 / L3 measurement reporting or UE assistance info (including potential candidate target cells / beams) to the network (Source gNB 10-1). After receiving the L1 / L3 measurement reporting or UE assistance info, Source gNB 10-1 may notify Target gNB 10-2 of the potential candidate target cells / beams. Target gNB 10-2 may reserve radio resources for the first uplink transmission for the potential candidate target cells / beams.
[0071] While the timer is running, UE 20 may wait for potential candidate target cells / beams to be sent from the network (Source gNB 10-1).
[0072] While the timer is running, UE 20 may stop the timer if it receives potential candidate target cells / beams from the network (Source gNB 10-1). When UE 20 receives potential candidate target cells / beams or when the timer stops, UE 20 may start monitoring the execution condition. When the network (Source gNB 10-1) changes the potential candidate target cells / beams (for example, when it wants to further narrow down the candidate cells / beams), it may send the potential candidate target cells / beams.
[0073] While the timer is running, if UE 20 does not receive potential candidate target cells / beams from the network (Source gNB 10-1) before the timer expires, UE 20 may start monitoring the execution condition when the timer expires. For example, if the DL signal quality is poor and the network (Source gNB 10-1) cannot send potential candidate target cells / beams to UE 20, LTM failure can be prevented by starting to monitor the execution condition.
[0074] Notifications from the network to the UE 20 regarding potential candidate target cells / beams may be sent after the timer described above expires, i.e., while monitoring the execution condition. If the UE 20 receives such notification before the execution condition is met, it may determine that the potential candidate target cells / beams are valid.
[0075] Figure 5 is a sequence diagram showing an example of the operation of the wireless communication system in Example 1.
[0076] In step S201, LTM preparation is performed. In step S202, Early TA license is performed.
[0077] In step S203, the UE 20 sends an L1 / L3 measurement report to the Source gNB 10-1. When the L1 / L3 measurement report is sent, or after a predetermined time has elapsed thereafter, the UE 20 may start a new timer (e.g., 10 msec). The time from the start to the end of the timer is not limited to 10 msec, but may be any time.
[0078] In step S204, Source gNB 10-1 sends Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2) to Target gNB 10-2.
[0079] In step S205, Target gNB 10-2 prepares the radio resources (e.g., dynamic grant) for the UE's first UL transmission.
[0080] In step S206, UE 20 begins monitoring the execution condition.
[0081] In step S207, UE 20 decides to switch to the target cell / beam when the execution condition (for example, for targetConifgID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1) is met.
[0082] In step S208, UE 20 performs a first uplink transmission to Target gNB 10-2.
[0083] In Example 2, for example, if the network (Source gNB 10-1) is satisfied with the quality of the cells / beams determined by UE 20, as included in the L1 / L3 measurement reporting or UE assistance info (including potential candidate target cells / beams), and determines that no changes to the cells / beams are necessary, the network (Source gNB 10-1) may send potential candidate target cells / beams that are the same as those determined by UE 20 to UE 20 in order to indicate that no changes to the cells / beams determined by UE 20 are necessary.
[0084] Figure 6 is a sequence diagram showing an example of the operation of a wireless communication system in another example of Embodiment 2.
[0085] In step S301, LTM preparation is performed. In step S302, Early TA acquisition is performed.
[0086] In step S303, UE 20 sends an L1 / L3 measurement report to Source gNB 10-1. The transmission of the L1 / L3 measurement report triggers the start of a new timer in UE 20.
[0087] In step S304, Source gNB 10-1 sends Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2) to Target gNB 10-2.
[0088] In step S305, Target gNB 10-2 prepares the radio resources (e.g., dynamic grant) for the UE's first uplink transmission.
[0089] In step S306, Source gNB 10-1 modifies the potential candidate target cells / beams based on the quality of the cells / beams determined by UE 20. If the quality of the cells / beams determined by UE 20 is good (for example, if a predetermined threshold is met), Source gNB 10-1 may decide not to modify the cells / beams determined by UE 20.
[0090] In step S307, Source gNB 10-1 sends a Change Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams to Target gNB 10-2. In the example in Figure 6, the Change Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams indicates a change to targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, and (UL)TCIstate#2.
[0091] In step S308, Source gNB 10-1 sends a notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2) to UE 20.
[0092] In step S309, UE 20 begins monitoring the execution condition.
[0093] In step S310, UE 20 decides to switch to the Target cell / beam when the execution condition (for example, for targetConifgID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1) is met.
[0094] In step S311, UE 20 performs a first uplink transmission to Target gNB 10-2.
[0095] As another example of Example 2, for instance, if the network (Source gNB 10-1) is satisfied with the quality of the cells / beams determined by UE 20, as included in the L1 / L3 measurement reporting or UE assistance info (including potential candidate target cells / beams), and determines that no changes to the cells / beams are necessary, it may notify UE 20 that no changes to the cells / beams are necessary (Acknowledge) using one bit of MAC CE or PDCCH DCI, as shown in Figure 7.
[0096] Figure 7 is a sequence diagram showing an example of the operation of a wireless communication system in another example of Embodiment 2.
[0097] In step S401, LTM preparation is performed. In step S402, Early TA acquisition is performed.
[0098] In step S403, UE 20 sends L1 / L3 measurement reporting (including notification of potential candidate target cells / beams) to Source gNB 10-1.
[0099] In step S404, Source gNB 10-1 determines the potential candidate target cells / beams.
[0100] In step S405, Source gNB 10-1 sends Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2) to Target gNB 10-2.
[0101] In step S405, Target gNB 10-2 prepares the radio resources (e.g., dynamic grant) for the UE's first uplink transmission.
[0102] In step S406, Source gNB 10-1 and Target gNB 10-2 prepare radio resources (e.g., dynamic grant) for the UE's first uplink transmission.
[0103] In step S407, Source gNB 10-1 sends MAC CE or PDCCH DCI to UE 20. One bit of MAC CE or PDCCH DCI may indicate whether the cell / beams changes determined by UE 20 are unnecessary (approved).
[0104] In step S408, UE 20 decides to switch to the Target cell / beam when the execution condition (for example, for targetConifgID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1) is met.
[0105] In step S409, UE 20 performs a First uplink transmission to Target gNB 10-2.
[0106] Figure 8 shows an example of the MAC CE or PDCCH DCI field in step S407 of Figure 7. This field may include information indicating whether the network (Source gNB 10-1) approves all potential candidate target cells / beams determined by UE 20.
[0107] For example, if the value of this field is set to "1", it may indicate that the network (Source gNB 10-1) approves all potential candidate target cells / beams determined by UE 20. In this case, it may be determined that there are no subsequent potential candidate target cells / beams.
[0108] If the value of this field is set to "0", it may indicate that the network (Source gNB 10-1) modifies one or more potential candidate target cells / beams determined by UE 20. In this case, it may be determined that there are subsequent potential candidate target cells / beams.
[0109] (Example 3) Example 3 of the second embodiment clarifies how Option 1 or Option 2 in the Rel-19 conditional LTM described above and legacy rel-18 LTM can coexist.
[0110] In the case of Option 1 in the conditional LTM of Rel-19 described above, if UE 20 receives a cell switch command for legacy rel-18 while waiting for potential candidate target cells / beams sent from the network (Source gNB 10-1), UE 20 may prioritize executing the legacy rel-18 LTM cell switch. In this case, UE 20 may deactivate or discard the execution condition for each candidate cell / beam.
[0111] In the case of Option 2 in the conditional LTM of Rel-19 described above, if UE 20 receives a cell switch command from legacy rel-18 after sending the L1 measurement report, UE 20 may prioritize executing the LTM cell switch for legacy rel-18. In this case, UE 20 may deactivate or discard the execution condition for each candidate cell / beam.
[0112] Figure 9 is a sequence diagram showing an example of the operation of the wireless communication system in Embodiment 3.
[0113] In step S501, LTM preparation is performed. In step S502, Early TA acquisition is performed.
[0114] In step S503, UE 20 sends an L1 / L3 measurement report to Source gNB 10-1. A new timer is started in UE 20.
[0115] In step S504, Source gNB 10-1 sends Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2) to Target gNB 10-2.
[0116] In step S505, Target gNB 10-2 prepares the radio resources (e.g., dynamic grant) for the UE's first uplink transmission.
[0117] In step S506, Source gNB 10-1 sends a Rel-18 Cell switch command to UE 20.
[0118] In step S507, UE 20 performs a first uplink transmission to Target gNB 10-2.
[0119] As another example of Example 3, in the case of Option 1 or Option 2 in the conditional LTM of Rel-19 described above, if UE 20 receives a cell switch command from legacy rel-18 while monitoring the execution condition, UE 20 may prioritize executing the legacy rel-18 LTM cell switch. For example, as shown in Figure 10, UE 20 may stop monitoring the execution condition of each candidate cell / beam. In this case, UE 20 may deactivate or discard the execution condition of each candidate cell / beam.
[0120] Figure 10 is a sequence diagram showing an example of the operation of a wireless communication system in another example of Embodiment 3.
[0121] In step S601, LTM preparation is performed. In step S602, Early TA acquisition is performed.
[0122] In step S603, UE 20 sends an L1 / L3 measurement report to Source gNB 10-1. A new timer is started in UE 20.
[0123] In step S604, Source gNB 10-1 sends Notification of potential candidate target cells / beams (e.g., targetConfigID#1, (UL)TCI state ID#1, targetConfigID#2, (UL)TCIstate#2) to Target gNB 10-2.
[0124] In step S605, Target gNB 10-2 prepares the radio resources (e.g., dynamic grant) for the UE's first uplink transmission.
[0125] In step S606, UE 20 begins monitoring the execution condition.
[0126] In step S607, Source gNB 10-1 sends a Rel-18 Cell switch command to UE 20.
[0127] In step S608, UE 20 may stop monitoring the execution condition and deactivate the execution condition.
[0128] In step S609, UE 20 performs a first uplink transmission to Target gNB 10-2.
[0129] Thus, according to the above embodiment, the operation of the terminal and base station in conditional LTM can be clarified, and LTM can be executed appropriately.

[0178] In addition, terms used in this disclosure and terms necessary for understanding this disclosure may be replaced with terms having the same or similar meanings. For example, at least one of the channel and symbol may be a signal (signaling). Also, a signal may be a message. Furthermore, a component carrier (CC) may be called a carrier frequency, cell, frequency carrier, etc.
[0179] The terms “system” and “network” as used in this disclosure are interchangeable.
[0180] Furthermore, the information, parameters, etc., described in this disclosure may be expressed using absolute values, relative values from a given value, or other corresponding information. For example, wireless resources may be indicated by an index.
[0181] The names used for the parameters described above are not restrictive in any way. Furthermore, the formulas and other expressions using these parameters may differ from those expressly disclosed in this disclosure. Various channels (e.g., PUCCH, PDCCH, etc.) and information elements can be identified by any suitable name, and therefore, the various names assigned to these various channels and information elements are not restrictive in any way.
[0182] In this disclosure, terms such as "Base Station (BS)", "wireless base station", "base station equipment", "fixed station", "NodeB", "eNodeB (eNB)", "gNodeB (gNB)", "access point", "transmission point", "reception point", "transmission / reception point", "cell", "sector", "cell group", "carrier", and "component carrier" may be used interchangeably. Base stations may also be referred to by terms such as macrocell, small cell, femtocell, and picocell.
[0183] A base station can accommodate one or more (e.g., three) cells. If a base station accommodates multiple cells, the entire coverage area of the base station can be divided into multiple smaller areas, each of which may also be provided with communication services by a base station subsystem (e.g., a Remote Radio Head (RRH)). The terms “cell” or “sector” refer to part or all of the coverage area of at least one of the base station and / or base station subsystems that provide communication services in that coverage.
[0184] In this disclosure, the transmission of information by a base station to a terminal may be interpreted as the base station instructing the terminal to perform control or operation based on the information.
[0185] In this disclosure, terms such as "Mobile Station (MS)," "user terminal," "User Equipment (UE)," and "terminal" may be used interchangeably.
[0186] A mobile station may also be referred to by those skilled in the art as a subscriber station, mobile unit, subscriber unit, wireless unit, remote unit, mobile device, wireless device, wireless communication device, remote device, mobile subscriber station, access terminal, mobile terminal, wireless terminal, remote terminal, handset, user agent, mobile client, client, or several other appropriate terms.

In this case, the terminals 20 may have the functions that the base station 10 has. Also, terms such as "uplink" and "downlink" may be interpreted as terms corresponding to terminal-to-terminal communication (for example, "side"). For example, uplink channel, downlink channel, etc., may be interpreted as side channel.
[0189] Similarly, the term "user terminal" in this disclosure may be replaced with "base station." In this case, the base station may be configured to have the same functions as the user terminal described above.
[0190] As used in this disclosure, the terms “determining” and “determining” may encompass a wide variety of actions. “Determining” may include, for example, judging, calculating, computing, processing, deriving, investigating, looking up, searching, or inquiring (e.g., searching in a table, database, or other data structure), or ascertaining. “Determining” may also include receiving (e.g., receiving information), transmitting (e.g., sending information), inputting, outputting, or accessing (e.g., accessing data in memory). Furthermore, "judgment" and "decision" can include considering something as having been "judged" or "decided" after resolving, selecting, choosing, establishing, comparing, etc. In other words, "judgment" and "decision" can include considering something as having been "judged" or "decided" after some action. Also, "judgment (decision)" can be reinterpreted as "assuming," "expecting," or "considering."
[0191] The terms “connected,” “coupled,” and any variations thereof mean any direct or indirect connection or coupling between two or more elements, and may include the presence of one or more intermediate elements between two elements that are “connected” or “coupled” with each other. The coupling or connection between elements may be physical, logical, or a combination thereof. For example, “connection” may be reinterpreted as “access.” As used in this disclosure, two elements may be considered to be “connected” or “coupled” with each other using at least one of one or more wires, cables, and printed electrical connections, and, in some non-limiting and non-exclusive examples, electromagnetic energy having wavelengths in the radio frequency domain, microwave domain, and optical (both visible and invisible) domain.
[0192] The reference signal can also be abbreviated as RS (Reference Signal), and may be called a pilot depending on the applicable standard.
[0193] In this disclosure, the phrase "based on" does not mean "based solely on" unless otherwise specified. In other words, the phrase "based on" means both "based solely on" and "based at least on."
[0194] Any reference to elements using the designations “first,” “second,” etc., as used in this disclosure does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. These designations may be used in this disclosure as a convenient way to distinguish between two or more elements. Accordingly, references to the first and second elements do not imply that only two elements may be employed, or that the first element must precede the second element in any way.
[0195] In the configuration of each of the above devices, "means" may be replaced with "part," "circuit," "device," etc.
[0196] Where the terms “include,” “including,” and variations thereof are used in this disclosure, these terms are intended to be inclusive, as is the term “comprising.” Furthermore, the term “or” as used in this disclosure is not intended to mean exclusive OR.
[0197] A wireless frame may consist of one or more frames in the time domain. Each of these frames in the time domain may be called a subframe. A subframe may further consist of one or more slots in the time domain. A subframe may have a fixed time length (e.g., 1 ms) that is independent of numerology.
[0198] Numerical logic may be communication parameters applied to at least one of the transmission and reception of a signal or channel. Numerical logic may include, for example, at least one of the following: subcarrier spacing (SCS), bandwidth, symbol length, cyclic prefix length, transmission time interval (TTI), number of symbols per TTI, radio frame configuration, specific filtering processes performed by the transceiver in the frequency domain, and specific windowing processes performed by the transceiver in the time domain.
[0199] A slot may consist of one or more symbols in the time domain (such as OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols, SC-FDMA (Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access) symbols, etc.). A slot may also be a time unit based on neurologic.
[0200] A slot may include multiple minislots. Each minislot may consist of one or more symbols in the time domain. Minislots may also be called subslots. Minislots may consist of fewer symbols than a slot. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted in a time unit larger than a minislot may be called a PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type A. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted using a minislot may be called a PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type B.
[0201] Wireless frames, subframes, slots, minislots, and symbols all represent units of time when transmitting a signal. Different names may be used for each of these terms.
[0202] For example, one subframe may be called a Transmission Time Interval (TTI), multiple consecutive subframes may be called a TTI, or one slot or one minislot may be called a TTI. In other words, at least one of a subframe and a TTI may be a subframe in existing LTE (1 ms), a period shorter than 1 ms (e.g., 1-13 symbols), or a period longer than 1 ms. Note that the unit representing the TTI may be called a slot, minislot, etc., instead of a subframe.
[0203] Here, TTI refers to, for example, the smallest time unit for scheduling in wireless communication. For example, in an LTE system, the base station schedules each terminal 20 to allocate wireless resources (such as the frequency bandwidth and transmission power available to each terminal 20) in TTI units. However, the definition of TTI is not limited to this.
[0204] TTI may be a transmission time unit for channel-encoded data packets (transport blocks), code blocks, code words, etc., or it may be a processing unit for scheduling, link adaptation, etc. When a TTI is given, the actual time interval (e.g., number of symbols) in which the transport block, code block, code word, etc. are mapped may be shorter than the TTI.
[0205] Furthermore, if one slot or one mini-slot is referred to as a TTI, then one or more TTIs (i.e., one or more slots or one or more mini-slots) may constitute the minimum time unit for scheduling. In addition, the number of slots (number of mini-slots) that constitute this minimum time unit for scheduling may be controlled.
[0206] A TTI with a time length of 1 ms may be called a normal TTI, a long TTI, a normal subframe, a long subframe, a slot, etc. A TTI shorter than a normal TTI may be called a shortened TTI, a short TTI, a partial or fractional TTI, a shortened subframe, a short subframe, a mini slot, a sub slot, a slot, etc.
[0207] Furthermore, long TTIs (e.g., normal TTIs, subframes, etc.) may be interpreted as TTIs with a time length exceeding 1 ms, and short TTIs (e.g., shortened TTIs, etc.) may be interpreted as TTIs with a TTI length less than that of a long TTI but 1 ms or more.
[0208] A resource block (RB) is a resource allocation unit in the time domain and frequency domain, and in the frequency domain, it may contain one or more consecutive subcarriers. The number of subcarriers in an RB may be the same regardless of the neurology, for example, 12. The number of subcarriers in an RB may be determined based on the neurology.
[0209] Furthermore, the time domain of the RB may contain one or more symbols and may be the length of one slot, one minislot, one subframe, or one TTI. One TTI, one subframe, etc., may each consist of one or more resource blocks.
[0210] One or more RBs may also be called a Physical RB (PRB), Sub-Carrier Group (SCG), Resource Element Group (REG), PRB pair, RB pair, etc.
[0211] Furthermore, a resource block may consist of one or more resource elements (REs). For example, one RE may be a radio resource area comprising one subcarrier and one symbol.
[0212] A Bandwidth Part (BWP), also known as a partial bandwidth, may represent a subset of consecutive common resource blocks (RBs) for a particular neurology in a given carrier. These common RBs may be identified by an index of the RBs relative to a common reference point of the carrier. The PRBs may be defined and numbered within a given BWP.
[0213] A BWP may include a BWP for UL (UL BWP) and a BWP for DL (DL BWP). One or more BWPs may be set within a single carrier for a UE.
[0214] At least one of the configured BWPs may be active, and the UE does not need to assume that it will transmit or receive a predetermined signal / channel outside of the active BWP. In this disclosure, terms such as "cell" and "carrier" may be read as "BWP".
[0215] The structures described above, such as wireless frames, subframes, slots, minislots, and symbols, are merely illustrative. For example, the number of subframes included in a wireless frame, the number of slots per subframe or wireless frame, the number of minislots included in a slot, the number of symbols and RBs included in a slot or minislot, the number of subcarriers included in an RB, and the number of symbols, symbol length, and cyclic prefix (CP) length within a TTI can be varied in various ways.
[0216] In this disclosure, if articles are added through translation, such as a, an, and the in English, this disclosure may include the fact that the noun following these articles is plural.
[0217] In this disclosure, the term "A and B are different" may mean "A and B are different from each other." The term may also mean "A and B are each different from C." Terms such as "separate" and "combine" may be interpreted similarly to "different."
[0218] Each aspect / embodiment described in this disclosure may be used individually, in combination, or switched between as needed during implementation. Furthermore, notification of specific information (e.g., notification that "X is") is not limited to explicit notification, but may also be implicit (e.g., by not providing such notification).
[0219] Although the present disclosure has been described in detail above, it will be clear to those skilled in the art that the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described herein. The present disclosure can be implemented in modified and altered forms without departing from the intent and scope of the present disclosure as defined by the claims. Therefore, the descriptions in the present disclosure are illustrative and not intended to be restrictive in any way.
