[0028] FIG. 2 illustrates an example scenario 200 for configuration switching in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. Scenario 200 involves an apparatus (e.g., a UE) and a network node (e.g., a (macro / micro) base station) which may be a part of a wireless network (e.g., an LTE network, a 5G / NR network, an IoT network, or a 6G network) . Referring to FIG. 2, the network node may transmit a switching command (e.g., DCI or MAC-CE) to the apparatus to indicate that the serving TRP or cell configuration is switched from the TRP #2 to the TRP #4 in the candidate TRP or cell configurations, and the serving beam or TCI is switched from the TCI #3 to the TCI #7 in the candidate beam or TCI configurations. The current serving (or active) BW (e.g., BW #2) in the candidate spectrum or BW configurations may not be changed.

[0029] According to the implementations of the present disclosure, the network node may indicate to the apparatus whether the current common configuration can be reused in an event that the apparatus needs to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration in the plurality of candidate TRP or cell configurations. If the current common configuration can be reused, the apparatus may apply the same common configuration for the new serving TRP or cell configuration. If the current common configuration cannot be reused, a new common configuration may be provided by an RRC reconfiguration or provided in the TRP or cell configuration. That is, the current serving common configuration may be replaced by the new common configuration when the apparatus switches to the new serving TRP or cell configuration. In addition, in an implementation, in an event that the candidate TRP or cell configurations have the same physical cell identity (PCI) , the apparatus may determine that the candidate TRP or cell configurations share the same common configuration.

[0030] Under a first proposed scheme for the common configuration switching, each candidate TRP or cell configuration may be associated with one of the plurality of candidate common configurations. The association may be provided in each candidate TRP or cell configuration. The apparatus can determine whether to switch to an associated serving common configuration in the plurality of candidate common configurations according to the association. For example, the apparatus may apply an associated serving common configuration in the plurality of candidate common configurations in an event that the switching command indicates to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration in the plurality of candidate TRP or cell configurations. That is, the associated serving common configuration may be associated with the new serving TRP or cell configuration.

[0031] Under a second proposed scheme for the common configuration switching, the network node may directly transmit a switching command to indicate whether to switch the current serving common configuration in the candidate common configurations.

[0032] FIG. 3 illustrates an example scenario 300 for a common configuration switching in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. Scenario 300 involves an apparatus (e.g., a UE) and a network node (e.g., a (macro / micro) base station) which may be a part of a wireless network (e.g., an LTE network, a 5G / NR network, an IoT network, or a 6G network) . Referring to FIG. 3, the apparatus may receive the configurations from the network node through a radio resource control (RRC) signaling (e.g., an RRC configuration) . The configurations may comprise candidate common configuration #1, candidate common configuration #2, candidate spectrum or BW configuration (s) (e.g., spectrum-specific configuration (s) ) , candidate TRP or cell configurations TRP #1, TRP #2, TRP #3, and TRP #4, and candidate beam or TCI configurations (or candidate beam or TCI state configurations) TCI #1, TCI #2, TCI #3, TCI #4, TCI #5, TCI #6, TCI #7, and TCI #8. The switching command from the network node may indicate to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #2) in the candidate TRP or cell configurations, and switch to a new serving beam or TCI configuration (e.g., TCI #7) in the candidate beam or TCI configurations.

[0033] Referring to FIG. 3, for the first proposed scheme for the common configuration switching, each candidate TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #1, TRP #2, TRP #3, and TRP #4) may be associated with one of the candidate common configurations (e.g., candidate common configuration #1 or candidate common configuration #2) . The apparatus may apply an associated serving common configuration in the plurality of candidate common configurations in an event that the switching command indicates to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #2) in the plurality of candidate TRP or cell configurations. The associated serving common configuration is associated with the new serving TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #2) .

[0034] Referring to FIG. 3, for the second proposed scheme for the common configuration switching, the network node may directly transmit a switching command to indicate whether to switch the current serving common configuration in the candidate common configurations (e.g., candidate common configuration #1 and candidate common configuration #2) .

[0035] In addition, under a first proposed scheme for the spectrum or BW configuration switching, each candidate TRP or cell configuration may be associated with at least one of the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configurations. The association may be provided in each candidate TRP or cell configuration. The apparatus can determine whether to switch to an associated serving spectrum or BW configuration in the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configuration configurations according to the association. For example, the apparatus may apply an associated serving spectrum or BW configuration in the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configuration configurations in an event that the switching command indicates to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration in the plurality of candidate TRP or cell configurations. That is, the associated serving spectrum or BW configuration may be associated with the new serving TRP or cell configuration.

[0036] Under a second proposed scheme for the spectrum or BW configuration switching, the network node may directly transmit a switching command to indicate whether to switch the current serving spectrum or BW configuration in the candidate spectrum or BW configurations.

[0037] Under a third proposed scheme for the spectrum or BW configuration switching, in an implementation, the apparatus may apply an associated serving spectrum or BW configuration in the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configuration configurations in an event that the switching command indicates to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration in the plurality of candidate TRP or cell configurations. In one implementation, the new serving TRP or cell configuration may be only associated with one serving spectrum or BW configuration (i.e., the associated serving spectrum or BW configuration) .

[0038] In another implementation, the apparatus may apply an indicated serving spectrum or BW configuration in the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configuration configurations in an event that the switching command indicates to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration in the plurality of candidate TRP or cell configurations. In this implementation, the new serving TRP or cell configuration may be associated with more than one of the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configurations. The apparatus may receive a DCI / MAC-CE to indicate one of the associated candidate spectrum or BW configurations (i.e., the indicated serving spectrum or BW configuration) .

[0039] FIG. 4 illustrates an example scenario 400 for a spectrum or BW configuration switching in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. Scenario 400 involves an apparatus (e.g., a UE) and a network node (e.g., a (macro / micro) base station) which may be a part of a wireless network (e.g., an LTE network, a 5G / NR network, an IoT network, or a 6G network) . Referring to FIG. 4, the apparatus may receive the configurations from the network node through a radio resource control (RRC) signaling (e.g., an RRC configuration) . The configurations may comprise candidate common configuration (s) , candidate spectrum or BW configurations (e.g., spectrum-specific configuration #1, spectrum-specific configuration #2, spectrum-specific configuration #3, and spectrum-specific configuration #4) , candidate TRP or cell configurations TRP #1, TRP #2, TRP #3, and TRP #4, and candidate beam or TCI configurations (or candidate beam or TCI state configurations) TCI #1, TCI #2, TCI #3, TCI #4, TCI #5, TCI #6, TCI #7, and TCI #8. The switching command from the network node may indicate to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #2) in the candidate TRP or cell configurations, and switch to a new serving beam or TCI configuration (e.g., TCI #7) in the candidate beam or TCI configurations.

[0040] Referring to FIG. 4, for the first proposed scheme for the common configuration switching, each candidate TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #1, TRP #2, TRP #3, and TRP #4) may be associated with one of the candidate spectrum or BW configurations (e.g., spectrum-specific configuration #1, spectrum-specific configuration #2, spectrum-specific configuration #3, or spectrum-specific configuration #4) . The apparatus may apply an associated serving spectrum or BW configuration in the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configurations in an event that the switching command indicates to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #2) in the plurality of candidate TRP or cell configurations. The associated spectrum or BW configuration is associated with the new serving TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #2) .

[0041] Referring to FIG. 4, for the second proposed scheme for the spectrum or BW configuration switching, the network node may directly transmit a switching command to indicate whether to switch the current serving spectrum or BW configuration in the candidate spectrum or BW configurations (e.g., spectrum-specific configuration #1, spectrum-specific configuration #2, spectrum-specific configuration #3, or spectrum-specific configuration #4) .

[0042] Referring to FIG. 4, for the third proposed scheme for the spectrum or BW configuration switching, in an example, the apparatus may apply an associated serving spectrum or BW configuration in the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configuration configurations in an event that the switching command indicates to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #2) in the plurality of candidate TRP or cell configurations. In the example, the new serving TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #2) may be only associated with the associated serving spectrum or BW configuration, i.e., the new serving TRP or cell configuration is only associated with one candidate spectrum or BW configuration.

[0043] Referring to FIG. 4, for the third proposed scheme for the spectrum or BW configuration switching, in another example, the apparatus may apply an indicated serving spectrum or BW configuration in the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configuration configurations in an event that the switching command indicates to switch to a new serving TRP or cell configuration (e.g., TRP #2) in the plurality of candidate TRP or cell configurations. In the example, the new serving TRP or cell configuration may be associated with more than one of the plurality of candidate spectrum or BW configurations. The apparatus may receive a DCI / MAC-CE to indicate one of the associated candidate spectrum or BW configurations (i.e., the indicated serving spectrum or BW configuration) .

[0044] In the implementations of the present disclosure, the candidate beam or TCI configuration (s) (or candidate beam-specific configuration (s) ) can be activated for early UE preparation, e.g., DL synchronization and pathloss estimation. The activation of the candidate beam or TCI configuration (s) may be applied for the serving BWP and the serving TRP. In addition, the activation of the candidate beam or TCI configuration (s) for the non-serving BWP (s) or non-serving TRP (s) may be supported for switching latency reduction (e.g., lower-layer triggered mobility (LTM) and fast secondary cell (SCell) activation) .

[0045] FIG. 5 illustrates an example scenario 500 for configuration switching cases in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. Scenario 500 involves an apparatus (e.g., a UE) and a plurality of network nodes (e.g., (macro / micro) base stations, TRPs) which may be a part of a wireless network (e.g., a distributed unit (DU) , an LTE network, a 5G / NR network, an IoT network, or a 6G network) . Referring to FIG. 5, in case 1, the apparatus may move within the same coverage of a band on the same TRP. Therefore, in case 1, the beam-related layer 1 (L1) configuration switching may be performed. Referring to FIG. 5, in case 2, the apparatus may move within the same coverage of a band between different TRPs belonging to the same DU. Therefore, in case 2, the beam-related L1 configuration switching and the TRP-specific L1 configuration switching may be performed. Referring to FIG. 5, in case 3, the apparatus may move within different coverages of bands (e.g., low-band coverage and high-band coverage) on the same TRP. Therefore, in case 3, the beam-related L1 configuration switching and the BW-specific L1 configuration switching may be performed. Referring to FIG. 5, in case 4, the apparatus may move between different TRPs belonging to different DUs. In case 4, the BW-specific L1 configuration may be switched without the UE mobility. In addition, case 4 may be performed through the inter-cell mobility procedure.

[0046] In the implementations of the present disclosure, the switching delay due to the DL synchronization and UL synchronization (e.g., TA acquisition) may also be avoided by the early DL synchronization and UL synchronization (i.e., the pre-configured candidate configurations) . The UE processing time for RRC can also be reduced due to that the candidate TRP or beam-specific L1 configurations are pre-configured. The UE processing time for the MAC reset can also be reduced. In addition, the UE processing time for L1 reconfiguration can also be reduced because only partial L1 reconfiguration is updated (i.e., the network node may not need to perform the RRC reconfiguration to update all configurations) . Additional Notes

[0080] The herein-described subject matter sometimes illustrates different components contained within, or connected with, different other components. It is to be understood that such depicted architectures are merely examples, and that in fact many other architectures can be implemented which achieve the same functionality. In a conceptual sense, any arrangement of components to achieve the same functionality is effectively "associated" such that the desired functionality is achieved. Hence, any two components herein combined to achieve a particular functionality can be seen as "associated with" each other such that the desired functionality is achieved, irrespective of architectures or intermedial components. Likewise, any two components so associated can also be viewed as being "operably connected" , or "operably coupled" , to each other to achieve the desired functionality, and any two components capable of being so associated can also be viewed as being "operably couplable" , to each other to achieve the desired functionality. Specific examples of operably couplable include but are not limited to physically mateable and / or physically interacting components and / or wirelessly interactable and / or wirelessly interacting components and / or logically interacting and / or logically interactable components.

[0081] Further, with respect to the use of substantially any plural and / or singular terms herein, those having skill in the art can translate from the plural to the singular and / or from the singular to the plural as is appropriate to the context and / or application. The various singular / plural permutations may be expressly set forth herein for sake of clarity.

[0082] Moreover, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that, in general, terms used herein, and especially in the appended claims, e.g., bodies of the appended claims, are generally intended as “open” terms, e.g., the term “including” should be interpreted as “including but not limited to, ” the term “having” should be interpreted as “having at least, ” the term “includes” should be interpreted as “includes but is not limited to, ” etc.  It will be further understood by those within the art that if a specific number of an introduced claim recitation is intended, such an intent will be explicitly recited in the claim, and in the absence of such recitation no such intent is present. For example, as an aid to understanding, the following appended claims may contain usage of the introductory phrases "at least one" and "one or more" to introduce claim recitations. However, the use of such phrases should not be construed to imply that the introduction of a claim recitation by the indefinite articles "a" or "an" limits any particular claim containing such introduced claim recitation to implementations containing only one such recitation, even when the same claim includes the introductory phrases "one or more" or "at least one" and indefinite articles such as "a" or "an, " e.g., “a” and / or “an” should be interpreted to mean “at least one” or “one or more; ” the same holds true for the use of definite articles used to introduce claim recitations. In addition, even if a specific number of an introduced claim recitation is explicitly recited, those skilled in the art will recognize that such recitation should be interpreted to mean at least the recited number, e.g., the bare recitation of "two recitations, " without other modifiers, means at least two recitations, or two or more recitations. Furthermore, in those instances where a convention analogous to “at least one of A, B, and C, etc. ” is used, in general such a construction is intended in the sense one having skill in the art would understand the convention, e.g., “a system having at least one of A, B, and C” would include but not be limited to systems that have A alone, B alone, C alone, A and B together, A and C together, B and C together, and / or A, B, and C together, etc. In those instances where a convention analogous to “at least one of A, B, or C, etc. ” is used, in general such a construction is intended in the sense one having skill in the art would understand the convention, e.g., “a system having at least one of A, B, or C” would include but not be limited to systems that have A alone, B alone, C alone, A and B together, A and C together, B and C together, and / or A, B, and C together, etc. It will be further understood by those within the art that virtually any disjunctive word and / or phrase presenting two or more alternative terms, whether in the description, claims, or drawings, should be understood to contemplate the possibilities of including one of the terms, either of the terms, or both terms. For example, the phrase “A or B” will be understood to include the possibilities of “A” or “B” or “A and B. ”

[0083] From the foregoing, it will be appreciated that various implementations of the present disclosure have been described herein for purposes of illustration, and that various modifications may be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the present disclosure. Accordingly, the various implementations disclosed herein are not intended to be limiting, with the true scope and spirit being indicated by the following claims.
