Abstract

A mounting jig 10 is provided with a jig body 11 comprising: a cylindrical barrel part 13 which is externally fitted to a shaft A and which has a tape member 1 wound around the outer circumference thereof; a driven gear 14 which is continuous with the barrel part 13 and which rotates together with the barrel part 13 upon receiving a rotational driving force; and a pressing pin 16 which presses an end part of the tape member 1 against the outer circumferential surface of the barrel part 13. The pressing pin 16 is configured so as not to hinder slide movement of gland packings 1a, 1b formed by winding the tape member 1 around the outer circumference of the barrel part 13, in a direction away from the driven gear 14 along the axial direction of the barrel part 13. The jig body 11 is configured to be attachable to a lateral side of the shaft A.
