Abstract
The invention relates to a vehicle charging device comprising: a controllable rectifier (PFC) which is designed to be operated in a normal mode or in a boost mode, according to control; at least one storage capacitor (C; C3, C4) which is downstream of the rectifier (PFC) and can be connected to the rectifier (PFC) by means of a controllable switch (REL; REL1, REL2) and also can be or is connected to the rectifier (PFC) by means of a resistor (PTC; PTC1, PTC2); a control device (CCU) for controlling the rectifier (PFC) and the switch (REL; REL1, REL2), wherein during normal operation of the vehicle charging device, with the switch (REL; REL1, REL2) closed, the rectifier (PFC) is operated in the boost mode and a voltage (VDC2) at the storage capacitor (C; C3, C4) is set to a predefined target normal-operation output voltage (VDC2-T). For pre-charging of the storage capacitor (C; C3, C4), pre-charging operation of the vehicle charging device is provided, during which the storage capacitor (C; C3, C4) is pre-charged via the resistor (PTC; PTC1, PTC2). To allow faster pre-charging of the storage capacitor (C; C3, C4), the control device (CCU) is designed to operate the rectifier (PFC) at least temporarily in the boost mode during the pre-charging operation.
