Abstract

[Problem] To provide a lubricant composition which is capable of achieving a long service life even in a high-temperature and high-load environment, and with which it is possible to suppress an increase in sound of a bearing that uses the lubricant composition even after rotation in a high-temperature and high-load environment and to expect the achievement of a longer service life of the bearing. [Solution] A lubricant composition which contains an aliphatic carboxylic acid or aromatic carboxylic acid having 2 to 16 carbon atoms and a wear inhibitor, and a rolling bearing in which the lubricant composition is sealed.

Claims

1. A lubricant composition comprising an aliphatic carboxylic acid or aromatic carboxylic acid having 2 to 16 carbon atoms and a wear inhibitor.

2. The lubricant composition according to claim 1, wherein the aliphatic carboxylic acid or the aromatic carboxylic acid is at least one selected from the group consisting of aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic acids and aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acids.

3. The lubricant composition according to claim 1, wherein the aliphatic carboxylic acid or the aromatic carboxylic acid is blended in an amount of 0.003% to 5% by mass relative to the total amount of the lubricant composition.

4. The lubricant composition according to claim 1, wherein the wear inhibitor comprises a phosphorus-based extreme pressure additive.

5. The lubricant composition according to claim 1, wherein the wear inhibitor comprises an ionic liquid composed of a borate anion and a cation.

6. The lubricant composition according to claim 5, wherein the borate anion is represented by the following formula. (In the formula, R 12 and R 14 Each of these independently represents a linear or branched alkyl group having 3 to 22 carbon atoms, or an aryl group having 6 to 10 carbon atoms.

7. The lubricant composition according to claim 1, wherein the wear inhibitor comprises a phosphorus-based extreme pressure additive and an ionic liquid composed of a borate anion and a cation.

8. The lubricant composition according to claim 2, wherein the aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic acid is at least one selected from the group consisting of primary α-hydroxycarboxylic acids, secondary α-hydroxycarboxylic acids, and tertiary α-hydroxycarboxylic acids having a methyl group or a carboxymethyl group as a substituent at the α position, and the aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid is at least one selected from the group consisting of aromatic α-hydroxycarboxylic acids.

9. The lubricant composition according to claim 8, wherein the aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic acid is at least one selected from the group consisting of secondary α-hydroxymonocarboxylic acids having 3 to 10 carbon atoms and tertiary α-hydroxycarboxylic acids having a methyl group as a substituent at the α position, and the aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid is at least one selected from the group consisting of aromatic α-hydroxycarboxylic acids having 8 to 22 carbon atoms.

10. The lubricant composition according to any one of claims 1 to 9, which is a grease composition comprising a base oil and a thickener.

11. A rolling bearing containing the lubricant composition described in claim 9.
