Cable assembly device and method for assembling a cable

Abstract

The invention relates to a cable assembly device (100) for assembling cables. The cable assembly device comprises an advancing unit (10), which is configured to advance a supply cable (1) along a longitudinal axial direction of the supply cable (1) beyond an end of the advancing unit (10) into a processing region (55), and a cable support device (50). The cable support device (50) comprises at least one front support part (51), which is configured to support the advanced supply cable (1), and a support part movement system (51a) for moving the front support part along the longitudinal axial direction over a support part distance (57) from a rear position (56) close to the advancing unit (10) at least into the processing region to a front position (53). The front support part (51) takes up less than one third of the length in the longitudinal axial direction of the distance (57) between the rear position and the front position.
