Claims

The realizations described herein disclose devices, methods, and apparatus for cell-triggered Layer 3 (L3) notification. In one aspect, a terminal device receives a cell-trigger command to activate a plurality of cells in a frequency band. Based on the status of the plurality of cells and cell association information comprising at least the plurality of cells to be activated in the frequency band, the terminal device determines whether L3 notification is to be triggered. Based on the determination that L3 notification is to be triggered, the terminal device transmits an L3 notification.Considering the cell state, for example, known / unknown, and the association information between cells in the same band, the terminal device can determine whether to trigger L3 notification for cells in different frequency bands, for example, in frequency range 1 (FR1) and frequency range 2 (FR2), respectively, and thus achieves faster cell activation.
