Abstract

The present invention relates to a valve bridge (42) for a valve mechanism (10), comprising: a valve bridge operating area (44) through which the valve bridge (42) can be operated by means of a first rocker arm (32) and thereby movable in a first operating direction (22); a first valve operating area (46) by means of which a first valve valve (18) can be operated by means of the operation of the valve bridge (42); and a second valve operating area (46) by means of which a second valve valve (20) can be operated by means of the operation of the valve bridge (42). The valve operating area (46) includes a through hole (56) extending along the first operating direction (22), the through hole having a first length region (L1) within which the through hole (56) is completely closed around its circumference (58). The through hole (56) has a second length region (L2) that is immediately adjacent to the first length region (L1) in the operating direction (22), and in the second length region, the through hole (56) is opened at a portion (S1) along its circumferential direction (58) in a first opening direction (60) that extends perpendicular to the operating direction (22).
