Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to the field of eye care technology, specifically to a method for preparing a steam eye mask with calming and sleep-aiding effects. Background Technology

[0002] Steam eye masks are disposable products, convenient, hygienic, and easy to carry. They can be used during leisure time, breaks between classes, while sleeping, while traveling by plane or train, or during office breaks, etc., to relieve eye fatigue and promote sleep. Since their launch, steam eye masks have been very popular, especially among young and middle-aged people who spend long hours working on computers.

[0003] Steam eye masks utilize advanced self-heating temperature control technology. Moisture and oxygen from the air entering the eye mask react with metal powder in a chemical oxidation and exothermic reaction inside the mask to form a heating element. The moisture inside the heating element evaporates, forming tiny, almost invisible warm steam. The steam passes through the non-woven fabric, and the heat and humidity from the steam help protect the skin around the eyes and relieve eye fatigue.

[0004] However, steam eye masks currently on the market often have problems such as inconsistent heating temperature, short heating duration, and limited effectiveness during use. Summary of the Invention

[0005] The purpose of this invention is to provide a method for preparing a steam eye mask with calming and sleep-aiding effects, so as to solve the problems mentioned in the background art.

[0006] To solve the above-mentioned technical problems, the present invention provides the following technical solution: a steam eye mask with calming and sleep-aiding effects, comprising an eye mask body, wherein ear hooks are connected to both sides of the eye mask body; the eye mask body comprises an inner layer and an outer layer, wherein a heat insulation layer, a microbead massage layer, a double U-shaped heating unit, and a filter layer are sequentially arranged from the inner layer to the outer layer.

[0007] Furthermore, the ear loops are formed by cutting soft cotton paper; the inner and outer layers are non-woven fabrics; the non-woven fabrics are preferably needle-punched soft non-woven fabrics, which fit the eyes better and provide excellent comfort.

[0008] The insulation layer is a polyethylene-polyvinylidene fluoride microporous composite membrane; the insulation layer is a microporous membrane formed by blending and stretching polyethylene and polyvinylidene fluoride, which has excellent heat insulation effect and the rich microporous structure is more conducive to the permeability of oxygen and water in the air.

[0009] The filter layer is a polyethylene microporous membrane, with a hydrophobic membrane coated on the side near the double U-shaped heating unit. When the double U-shaped heating unit releases water vapor, the hydrophobic membrane of the filter layer reduces the outflow of water vapor into the air and promotes the flow of water vapor towards the inner eye area, thus enhancing the effect of relieving eye fatigue.

[0010] Furthermore, the microbead massage layer is mainly prepared from alumina microspheres, compound essential oils, natural plant extracts, and polyvinyl alcohol; preferably, the diameter of the alumina microspheres is 0.8-1.2 mm.

[0011] Furthermore, the double U-shaped heating unit is composed of the following raw materials in parts by weight: 48-57 parts iron powder, 10-15 parts activated carbon powder, 0.1-0.5 parts superabsorbent resin, 2-4 parts expanded vermiculite, 1-3 parts sodium chloride, 3-5 parts binder, and 20-30 parts water.

[0012] Furthermore, the filter layer is provided with a far-infrared ceramic powder coating on the side facing the double U-shaped heating unit; the coating thickness of the far-infrared ceramic powder coating is 0.5-1.0mm.

[0013] Furthermore, the compound essential oil comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 3-5 parts lavender essential oil, 6-9 parts chamomile essential oil, and 5-8 parts tea tree essential oil; the natural plant extract comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 6-9 parts cassia seed extract, 6-9 parts aloe vera extract, and 5-7 parts agarwood extract.

[0014] Furthermore, the adhesive is a mixture of acrylic adhesive and biological adhesive; the mass ratio of the acrylic adhesive to the biological adhesive is 3:7; the biological adhesive is a mixture of elm powder and flaxseed gum in a mass ratio of 1:1.

[0015] A method for preparing a steam eye mask with calming and sleep-aiding effects includes the following steps; S1. Fabrication of a double U-shaped heating unit; S2. Prepare the main body of the eye mask; S3. Prepare the finished steam eye mask.

[0016] Furthermore, a method for preparing a steam eye mask with calming and sleep-aiding effects is characterized by including the following steps; S1. Preparation of double U-shaped heating unit: Mix expanded vermiculite, sodium chloride, binder and water, stir evenly, add iron powder, activated carbon powder and super absorbent resin, stir evenly, and press into a U-shaped sheet with a thickness of 1-2mm; encapsulate the pressed U-shaped sheet between two polyethylene microporous membranes to obtain double U-shaped heating unit; When the iron powder in the double U-shaped heating unit reacts with oxygen and water in the air, it generates heat. The release of a large amount of heat causes the moisture in the heating element to evaporate, generating tiny, almost invisible warm steam that maintains a constant temperature of around 40 degrees Celsius, which can soften the skin and relieve fatigue. In this application, the double U-shaped heating unit uses two U-shaped heating elements to avoid contact between the heating elements and the eyeball. The eyeball is a relatively fragile and sensitive organ, and contact between the heating elements and the eyeball may cause local overheating and burns. Therefore, using U-shaped heating elements is safer and more reliable. The binder in the heating material uses a biological binder to replace 70% of the chemical binder in traditional technologies, which is in line with the concept of green environmental protection. The 70% replacement rate can ensure the bonding strength between the components such as iron powder, activated carbon powder, and superabsorbent resin, without reducing the permeability of oxygen and water in the air. In addition, the biological binder composed of elm powder and flaxseed gum has water absorption properties, which can promote the continuous generation of more tiny steam by the double U-shaped heating unit.

[0017] S2. Cutting preparation: Cut the polyethylene-polyvinylidene fluoride microporous composite membrane into shape as the heat insulation layer; cut the polyethylene microporous membrane into shape as the filter layer; cut the non-woven fabric to form the inner and outer layers, for later use. A heat insulation layer is attached to the surface of the inner non-woven fabric. A mixture of compound essential oil and natural plant extract is added, and alumina microspheres are added. The mixture is soaked for 10-12 hours and then naturally dried. A polyvinyl alcohol solution is added, and the mixture is allowed to stand for 1-2 hours. The mixture is then filtered and dried to obtain encapsulated microspheres. The encapsulated microspheres are then laid in a single layer on the surface of the heat insulation layer to form a microbead massage layer. A double U-shaped heating unit is attached to the surface of the microbead massage layer for later use. Maltodextrin is mixed with far-infrared ceramic powder and evenly coated on the other surface of the double U-shaped heating unit to form a far-infrared ceramic powder coating. A polyethylene film is then attached to the surface of the far-infrared ceramic powder coating to form a filter layer. An outer non-woven fabric is then attached to the other surface of the filter layer to obtain the main body of the eye mask. In existing technologies, essential oil skincare products are often directly coated onto the surface of the non-woven fabric inner layer of the eye mask. However, the essential oils evaporate quickly, resulting in a less than ideal sleep-aiding effect. Furthermore, the essential oils and skincare products on the coating can run onto the skin around the eyes and into the eyes themselves, causing discomfort and stains. This invention loads a mixture of compound essential oils and natural plant extracts onto the pores and surface of alumina microspheres. A thin film is formed on the alumina surface using polyvinyl alcohol, encapsulating the essential oil and plant extract mixture within the alumina microspheres. The alumina microspheres preferably have a diameter of 0.8-1.2 mm. This diameter prevents the eye mask from becoming too thick, thus reducing its fit. Simultaneously, the alumina microspheres create an internal space of 0.8-1.2 mm between the heat insulation layer and the double U-shaped heating unit. When the U-shaped heating unit releases heat, a heat circulation channel and heat storage zone are formed within this internal space, thereby increasing the duration of continuous heating and maintaining a relatively constant temperature. When the U-shaped heating unit releases heat and steam, which flows through the micropores to the encapsulated microspheres, it continuously promotes the volatilization of essential oils and plant extracts inside the microspheres, thus calming the nerves, aiding sleep, and reducing fine lines and dark circles around the eyes. During use, gently pressing the eye mask allows the alumina spherical structure to provide a comfortable massage and acupressure on the eye area, promoting blood circulation around the eyes and improving sleep.

[0018] In this application, maltodextrin is used as a binder and mixed with far-infrared ceramic powder. The mixture is then evenly coated on the other surface of the double U-shaped heating unit to form a far-infrared ceramic powder coating. A polyethylene film is then laminated onto the surface of the far-infrared ceramic powder coating to form a filter layer. An outer non-woven fabric is then laminated onto the other surface of the filter layer to obtain the main body of the eye mask. In addition to acting as a binder, maltodextrin can also absorb moisture from the air, providing a small amount of moisture to the heating element and increasing the working time of the eye mask.

[0019] This application provides a far-infrared ceramic powder coating on the other surface of the U-shaped heating unit. After absorbing the heat released by the heating element, the far-infrared ceramic powder will release far-infrared rays of 4-14μm that are beneficial to the human body. These far-infrared rays are easily absorbed by the human body, promoting metabolism and increasing the activity of cells around the eyes.

[0020] S3. Take the eye mask body prepared in S2, connect soft cotton paper ear loops to both sides, seal and package to obtain the finished steam eye mask.

[0021] Furthermore, the preparation method of the heat insulation layer in step S2 is as follows: polyethylene masterbatch and polyvinylidene fluoride rice grains are mixed and added to a twin-screw extruder, melted, extruded, cast, and stretched to obtain a polyethylene-polyvinylidene fluoride composite microporous membrane.

[0022] Compared with the prior art, the beneficial effects achieved by the present invention are as follows: (1) The present invention uses a double U-shaped heating unit to avoid the eyeball area, which is safer and more reliable; the biological adhesive formed by the mixture of elm powder and flaxseed glue replaces 70% of the chemical adhesive, which is in line with the concept of green environmental protection. (2) The surface of the double U-shaped heating unit is provided with a far-infrared ceramic powder layer, which absorbs the heat released by the U-shaped heating unit and generates far-infrared rays of 4-14μm that are beneficial to the human body, promoting metabolism and increasing the activity of periorbital cells. (3) The other surface of the double U-shaped heating unit is provided with essential oil-alumina encapsulated microspheres. The microspheres form an internal space of a certain height between the heat insulation layer and the U-shaped heating unit. The U-shaped heating unit can form a heat circulation channel and heat storage zone in this internal space, thus increasing the continuous heating time of the eye mask and maintaining a relatively constant temperature. Furthermore, the heat and steam released by the U-shaped heating unit flow through the encapsulated microspheres, continuously promoting the volatilization of essential oils and plant extracts, achieving the effects of calming the mind and aiding sleep, and reducing fine lines and dark circles around the eyes. The spherical structure of the encapsulated microspheres can massage the eye area under external pressure, promoting blood circulation around the eyes, reducing eye fatigue, and improving sleep. The steam eye mask prepared by this invention is comfortable to wear, safe and environmentally friendly, and can maintain a constant temperature for more than 30 minutes. It can massage the skin around the eyes, reduce fatigue, reduce fine lines and dark circles around the eyes, and calm the mind and aid sleep. Attached Figure Description

[0048] Comparative Example 2 A steam eye mask with calming and sleep-aiding effects includes an eye mask body with ear loops attached to both sides. The eye mask body comprises an inner layer and an outer layer, with a heat insulation layer, a double U-shaped heating unit, and a filter layer sequentially arranged from the inner layer to the outer layer. The inner and outer layers are made of non-woven fabric; the heat insulation layer is a polyethylene-polyvinylidene fluoride microporous composite membrane; and the filter layer is a polyethylene microporous membrane.

[0049] The double U-shaped heating unit is composed of the following raw materials in parts by weight: 57 parts iron powder, 15 parts activated carbon powder, 0.5 parts super absorbent resin, 4 parts expanded vermiculite, 3 parts sodium chloride, 5 parts binder, and 30 parts water.

[0051] The preparation method includes the following steps; S1. Mix expanded vermiculite, sodium chloride, binder, and water, stir evenly, add iron powder, activated carbon powder, and super absorbent resin, stir evenly, and press into a U-shaped sheet with a thickness of 2mm; encapsulate the pressed U-shaped sheet between two polyethylene microporous membranes to obtain a double U-shaped heating unit. S2. [0052] Experimental Example Twenty volunteers, aged 25-40, who worked long hours at computers and had no other eye diseases, were recruited. Steam eye masks prepared in Examples 1-3 and Comparative Examples 1-2 were given to the volunteers for trial use. The trial conditions were that the masks be used before going to sleep at noon or in the evening, for three consecutive days per volunteer. The steam eye masks were for single use only. Alcohol, coffee, and sleeping pills were prohibited before using the steam eye masks. The trial evaluation results are shown in Table 1.

[0053] As shown in Table 1, the steam eye masks in Examples 1-3 performed well. The steam heating time of the eye masks lasted for more than 30 minutes, improving eye fatigue and dryness, and promoting restful sleep. In Comparative Example 1, compared to Example 3, the far-infrared powder coating was omitted during the preparation of the steam eye mask. Far-infrared powder can absorb the heat released by the U-shaped heating unit, generating 4-14μm infrared rays beneficial to the human body, improving cell activity and metabolism, and having a positive effect on improving eye fatigue and promoting restful sleep. Therefore, in Comparative Example 1, due to the absence of this coating, the final evaluation only showed good restorative sleep effects and moderate effectiveness in improving eye fatigue and dryness. In Comparative Example 2, no far-infrared powder coating and microbead massage layer were added during the preparation of the steam eye mask. Since the microbead massage layer can form an internal space between the U-shaped heating unit and the heat insulation layer, the heat released by the U-shaped heating unit can form a heat circulation channel and heat storage zone in the internal space, thus increasing the continuous heating time of the eye mask.
