Crop Nutrition and Fortification Composition

Abstract

The invention relates to a crop nutrition and fortification composition comprising: elemental sulfur in the order of 1% to 90% by weight; one or more water-insoluble or water-soluble iron salts or derivatives or mixtures thereof, wherein the elemental iron content is in the order of 0.1% to 50% by weight; one or more water-insoluble or water-soluble zinc salts or derivatives or mixtures thereof, wherein the elemental zinc content is in the order of 0.1% to 55% by weight; one or more water-insoluble or water-soluble magnesium salts or derivatives or mixtures thereof, wherein the elemental magnesium content is in the order of 0.5% to 50% by weight; one or more water-insoluble or water-soluble boron salts or derivatives or mixtures thereof, wherein the elemental boron content is in the order of 0.01% to 25% by weight; one or more water-insoluble or water-soluble manganese salts or derivatives or mixtures thereof,where the elemental manganese content is in the order of 0.1% to 40% by weight; one or more water-insoluble or water-soluble copper salts or derivatives or mixtures thereof, where the elemental copper content is in the order of 0.1% to 40% by weight; and one or more surfactants in the order of 0.1% to 40% by weight. The composition is presented in the form of water-dispersible granules and liquid suspension, where the compositions have a particle size in the order of 100 nanometers to 5 microns and have a mean particle size diameter distribution of less than 1000 nanometers, and where the total content of the water-soluble salts, derivatives, or mixtures in the composition does not exceed 80% by weight of the total composition. The invention also relates to a process for preparing the nutritional composition and fortifying crops and to a method for treating plants, seeds, crops, plant propagation material,locus, or parts thereof, or soil with the nutritional and fortifying composition of crops.
