Example

[0001] Rod materials, such as those used in the grill grate of any standard household barbecue grill, are often difficult to clean of encrustations and dirt residues after use.

[0002] The reason for this is that rod materials, for example due to their round profile and cylindrical shape, can only be cleaned to a limited extent when applied across their entire surface. Thus, when a cleaning device is placed over the entire surface, only a minimal proportion of the material's surface is ever reached.

[0003] Cleaning with brushes is only slightly more effective, as the residues that get caught in the bristles quickly dirty them, and the brush then needs to be cleaned itself for proper cleaning, or even becomes unusable.

[0004] The proposed development of a so-called "rod cleaner" (SR) is based on the problem of enabling improved cleaning of rod material in many shapes or round rods.
