Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a safety razor. A safety razor is a razor used for wet shaving. A safety razor uses a blade that protrudes only slightly from the blade to avoid major cuts. Therefore, the safety razor is also called a safety razor to distinguish it from a straight razor.

[0002] In principle, the razor blade can be used either single-sided or double-sided. The razor blade is usually replaceable.

[0003] Known safety razors are conventionally constructed in such a way that a razor blade, in particular one that cuts on both sides, is clamped between an upper part (also called the cover part or head piece) and a lower part (also called the base or protective part or comb) of the safety razor head by means of a screw located at the end of a handle.

[0004] When shaving, the gap (blade gap) between the razor blade and the base of the safety razor head becomes clogged with clipped hairs and shaving cream. To reliably remove these, unscrewing the base and the cover is unavoidable. This poses a risk that the parts will have to be completely removed and then reassembled. There's no mechanism that can be easily operated with one hand.

[0005] In multi-blade razors with multiple blades stacked on top of each other (multi-blade systems), the gaps between the blades also become clogged, making it very difficult to clean to achieve a clean and close shave. It's not possible to widen the gap between the blades to allow for rinsing, as the razor blades are permanently embedded in a molded piece, usually made of plastic. Consequently, when a razor blade becomes worn and blunt, the entire head—comprising the blades and the plastic piece—must be disposed of and replaced with a new one. This creates thousands of tons of waste worldwide.

[0006] The present invention is therefore based on the object of providing a safety razor with which cut hairs and shaving foam can be easily rinsed out of the blade gap in the safety razor head with one hand and one handle.

[0007] According to the invention, this object is achieved by a safety razor comprising: - a tubular handle, - a plunger axially displaceable in the lower part of the tubular handle, which is extended upwards by a rod whose diameter is smaller than the diameter of the plunger, - a safety razor head comprising a base that can be placed on the handle, a cover plate that can be placed on the base, preferably a curved cover plate, and a fastening element by means of which the cover plate can be connected to the upper end of the rod and the base to the handle, wherein the base and the cover plate are designed to accommodate a, preferably double-edged, razor blade between them, and - a spring, in particular a spiral spring, which is arranged in the handle and designed to hold the plunger in its rest position, in which a razor blade can be clamped between the base and the cover plate, and when force is exerted on the plunger in the direction of the safety razor head, the cover plate is lifted from the base against the force of the spring.

[0008] In particular, it can be provided that it has a shoulder inside the handle, which is formed by a difference in the inner diameter of the handle and serves as a support for the spring.

[0009] Conveniently, the fastening element is a fastening pin that can be screwed to the upper end of the rod.

[0010] Finally, it can be provided in particular that the fastening pin has an external thread and the upper end of the rod has a longitudinal bore with an internal thread.

[0011] The present invention is based on the surprising discovery that, by means of a spring-loaded plunger in the handle, a razor blade can be clamped in a resting position between the base and the lid. By pressing on the lower or rear end of the handle, where the plunger is located, the lid plate can be lifted from the base to enlarge the blade gap and reliably rinse it. After the plunger is released, it returns to its resting position, and the lid plate moves downwards again to clamp the razor blade, preferably slightly curved again, for further shaving strokes.

[0012] Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the appended claims and from the description of an embodiment based on the schematic drawings. Herein: Fig. 1a is a perspective view of a safety razor according to a particular embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 1b a view of the Fig. 1 safety razor shown from below; Fig. 1c a side view of the Fig. 1 safety razor shown; Fig. 1d a sectional view along the line 1D-1D of Fig. 1c; Fig. 2 a sectional view of a handle of the Fig. 1 safety razor shown; Fig. 3 a sectional view of a pusher of the safety razor of Fig. 1a; Fig. 4a a perspective view obliquely from above of a base of the safety razor of Fig. 1; Fig. 4b a side view of the base of Fig. 4a; and Fig. 5a a perspective view obliquely from the underside of a cover plate of the safety razor of Fig. 1a; and Fig. 5b a side view of the cover plate of Fig. 5a.

[0013] The Fig. 1a to 5b relate to a particular embodiment of a safety razor 10 according to the present invention. The safety razor 10 comprises a tubular handle 12, a plunger 14 axially displaceable in the lower part of the tubular handle 12, which is extended upwards by a rod 16 whose diameter d Sta (see Fig. 3) smaller than the adjacent diameter d Stö1 of the tappet (see Fig. 3), and a safety razor head 18 which comprises a base 20 which can be placed on the handle 12, a cover plate 22 which can be placed on the base 20 and is curved in this example, and a fastening element by means of which the cover plate 22 can be connected to the upper end of the rod 16 and the base 20 to the handle 12, wherein the base 20 and the cover plate 22 are designed to accommodate a double-edged razor blade (not shown) between them in this example.

[0014] The plunger 14 has a diameter d at its lower end Stö2 (diameter 2) which is larger than the diameter d Stö1 (diameter 1), so that an annular shoulder 15 is created which limits the movement of the plunger 14 within the handle 12 upwards.

[0015] Furthermore, the safety razor 10 has a spring, in this example in the form of a spiral spring 24, which is arranged in the handle 12 and designed to hold the plunger 16 in its rest position (see Fig. 1c and Fig. 1d) in which a razor blade (not shown) can be clamped between the base 20 and the cover plate 22, and when force is exerted on the plunger 14 in the direction of the safety razor head 18 against the force of the spiral spring 24, the cover plate 22 is lifted from the base 20 (see Fig. 1a).

[0016] The safety razor 10 has an annular shoulder 26 inside the handle 12, which is characterized by a difference in the inner diameter d I1 and d I2 (see Fig. 2) of the handle 12, and serves as a support for the spiral spring 24. A further support for the spiral spring 24 is provided by the annular shoulder 17, which is formed by the transition from the diameter d Stö1of the plunger 14 to the diameter d Sta the rod 16 results.

[0017] The fastening element in this example is a fastening pin 28 (see Fig. 5a and Fig. 5b), which in this example is mounted centrally on the underside of the cover plate 22 in the longitudinal direction thereof and has an external thread 30, by means of which it engages an internal thread 32 at the upper end of the rod 16 in a longitudinal bore 34 (see Fig. 3) is screwable.

[0018] As can be seen from the Fig. 5a and Fig. 5b, the cover plate 22 has on its underside in the longitudinal direction on both sides of the fastening pin 28 a centering pin 36, in this example at the same distance.

[0019] According to the Fig. 4a and Fig.4b, the base 14, which in this example is essentially rectangular in plan view, has complementary adjustment openings or bores 38 for the adjustment pins 36 and a through-opening or bore 40 for the fastening pin 28.

[0020] The features of the invention disclosed in the above description, in the drawings and in the claims may be essential both individually and in any combination for the realization of the invention in its various embodiments.
