Sky Lantern

Abstract

(1) The sky lantern in question has a double structure, with a balloon float placed inside an LED light diffuser. (2) The outer LED light diffuser is made of a translucent paper material, diffusing the LED light emitted from the lower interior to provide a luminous effect. (3) The inner balloon float is filled with helium or hydrogen gas, which is lighter than air, and has a roughly rectangular bulging body with a check valve at its bottom, providing buoyancy. (4) A battery-powered LED light source is attached to the bottom of the balloon float, and the light emitted from the LED light source is diffused by the balloon float and the LED light diffuser, allowing it to be observed as a lantern light. (5) A string or cord is attached to the balloon float, and when the sky lantern is released into the air, it rises and floats in the atmosphere due to buoyancy. (6) The weight of the battery-powered LED light source attached to the bottom of the balloon float ensures that the sky lantern rises stably in the air, with the bottom of the balloon float facing downwards. (7) Viewers look up from the bottom at the sky lanterns rising into the air.
