Abstract
The present invention disclosure relates to a rapid and cost-effective method for the isolation of genomic material from muscle tissues of mangrove crab for the molecular detection of bacterial pathogens. The methods increase the total recovery of genomic DNA from muscle tissues by heating to 100oC in addition to mechanical disruption of tissues by homogenization. The extracted and isolated genomic DNA using the present invention can 10 be used for the molecular detection of bacterial pathogens from muscle tissues of mangrove crab.
