Description

OVERLOAD PROTECTION DEVICE FOR AN ELECTRO-MAGNETIC FORCE RESTORATION WEIGHT MODULE AND A WEIGHING MODULE HAVING THE SAMEBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] Technical Field

[0002] The present invention relates to the field of overload protection of high-accuracy weighing modules, and in particular to an overload protection device for an electro-magnetic force restoration weighing module, and a weighing module having the same.

[0003] Background Art

[0004] Sensors for weighing modules currently on the market can be roughly divided into two categories, one category uses electro-magnetic force restoration sensors (or EMFR-sensors, and the other category is based on strain gauge sensors. The main differences between the two are the underlying principle of work and the accuracy.

[0005] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of an electro-magnetic force restoration sensor. As shown in FIG. 1, when a load force F acts on a tray, the original balance is broken, causing a lever to rotate about the fulcrum. A displacement sensor detects a change in the position of the lever, and the lever under a pan drives a connected coil to move in a magnetic field. The coil is energized by current, and cuts the magnetic field lines, thereby generating an electromagnetic force (Lorentz force) . This electro-magnetic force is balanced with gravity, the magnitude of the current is proportional to the weight, and the magnitude of the current is measured to obtain a weighed weight.

[0006] In addition, for a strain gauge sensor (or SG-sensor) , the weight change is sensed by a strain gauge attached to an elastic body of the sensor. By creating a corresponding deformation, the resistance value of the strain gauge changes. A resistance signal is changed to a voltage signal by means of a Wheatstone bridge, to obtain a weight value. Depending on the weighing principle, the strain gauge sensor has a limited ability to sense small deformation, so it is not possible to achieve a very high accuracy. The general resolution is 200,000 or less, and the common sensor currently on the market with an accuracy class C6 is already a very high-accuracy sensor. However, the electromagnetic sensor has an accuracy ranging from 0.01 ug to 1 kg, fully covering the accuracy range of all strain gauge sensors, has higher resolutions, which can reach 1  billion resolutions or more, and has a verification accuracy of several orders of magnitude higher than the strain gauge sensor.

[0007] Although the accuracy of the electromagnetic sensor is superior to that of the strain gauge sensor in every respect, the electromagnetic sensor is very susceptible to damage, especially human damage caused by overload. Therefore, to ensure accuracy, most electromagnetic sensors adopt an integrated molding process. However, such a structure can easily lead to the entire sensor having to be completely discarded in the event of damage to a force receiving component of the sensor, severely limiting its application. It is therefore necessary to design a separate overload protection mechanism for the electromagnetic sensor.

[0008] For conventional strain gauge type sensors, the most common overload protection mechanisms use limiting screws to achieve the mechanical limiting function by sensing deformation. However, the electromagnetic sensors obtain gravity by balancing the electro-magnetic restoration force with gravity rather than by sensing the strain. Therefore, it is difficult to achieve overload protection in them by using sensing deformation. Moreover, the electromagnetic weighing module is a high-accuracy weighing module, and the mechanical structure has a great influence on its performance. Therefore, designing an overload protection structure for electro-magnetic force restoration weighing modules is currently challenging.

[0009] In view of this, the inventors of the present application designed an overload protection device for an electro-magnetic force restoration weighing module and a weighing module having the same, to overcome the above technical problems.SUMMARY

[0010] To overcome the drawbacks of the prior art, such as the difficulty in providing an overload protection structure for an electromagnetic sensor and accuracy being easily affected, the present invention aims to solve the technical problem of providing an overload protection device for an electro-magnetic force restoration weighing module and a weighing module having the same.

[0027] Third, the entire protection mechanism can provide a variety of protection states, the transport state can avoid damage caused by directly manually pressing the weighing module to overload. In the weighing states, damage to the weighing module by a mechanical device (e.g., a manipulator) can be reduced.

[0028] Fourth, the protection mechanism will not directly contact the pan while performing overload protection on the weighing module, and thus will not affect the performance of the weighing module.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0045] The embodiments of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. The same reference numerals used in all the accompanying drawings denote identical or similar parts wherever possible.

[0046] Furthermore, although the terms used in the present invention are selected from well-known common terms, some of the terms mentioned in the description of the present invention may have been selected by the applicant according to his or her determination, and the detailed meaning thereof is described in the relevant section described herein.

[0047] Furthermore, the present invention must be understood, not simply by the actual terms used but also by the meanings encompassed by each term.

[0048] As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the present invention discloses an overload protection device for an electro-magnetic force restoration weighing module, the overload protection device comprising: at least two oppositely arranged resilient support assemblies, an overload protection plate 30, and at least two positioning assemblies 40. In this embodiment, each of the resilient support assemblies comprises a mounting sleeve 10 and a spring seat 20. The mounting sleeves 10 are mounted on an upper end face of a weighing module 100, respectively, on either side of a pan 110. The spring seats 20 are respectively nested in the corresponding mounting sleeves 10, and a spring 21 is mounted in each of the spring seats 20 and resiliently connected to the bottom the mounting sleeve 20. The overload protection plate 30 is provided with a through hole 31, the pan 110 passes through the through hole 31, and two ends of the overload protection plate 30 are respectively connected to the corresponding spring seats 20.

[0049] The positioning assemblies 40 are fixed on the upper end face of the weighing module 100 and are respectively located outside two lateral ends of the overload protection plate 30.An upper end of each of the positioning assemblies 40 is further provided with a position-adjustable limiting plate 50.

[0050] Preferably, each positioning assembly here may be configured to comprise a positioning post (not shown) , the limiting plate 50 is provided with a plurality of mounting holes 51, and the limiting plate 50 is mounted to the positioning post by passing a mounting member 52 through a corresponding mounting hole 51 for positional adjustment.

[0051] The positioning post is of a cylindrical structure, is fixed on the upper end face of the weighing module 100, and is mainly used to mount the limiting plate 50, providing a mounting base for the limiting plate 50. Therefore, the shape and the structure of the positioning post are not limited, as long as its height can meet the requirements for the mutual cooperation and use of the limiting plate 50 and the overload protection plate 30. The specific requirements can be selected according to actual usage conditions and are within the scope of protection of the present application.

[0052] Still further preferably, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the overload protection device further comprises a clamping member 60. The clamping member 60 is fitted over the pan 110 and the mounting sleeves 10, and clamps two sides of the weighing module 100. Each positioning assembly 40 may preferably comprise a pressing block 41. The pressing blocks 41 are respectively press-fixed on the corresponding clamping member 60. The limiting plate 50 is provided with a plurality of mounting holes 51 (e.g. three smooth holes) , and the limiting plate 50 is mounted to the pressing block 41 by passing a mounting member 52 (e.g. a screw) through a corresponding mounting hole 51. For example, a mounting hole 51 in a different position is selected, to implement positional adjustment.

[0053] Accordingly, the pressing block 41 is also provided with a plurality of holes corresponding to the mounting holes 51. When the limiting plate 50 is mounted, two mounting holes 51 are mounted together at the same time, so that the limiting plate 50 has a determined orientation and is mounted more securely.

[0054] In this embodiment, an inner wall face of the clamping member 60 is in close proximity to the weighing module 100, and the material of the clamping member 60 is preferably plastic to avoid damage to a surface of a shell of the weighing module 100. Moreover, an outer wall face of the clamping member 60 is configured as a first bevel 61, and an inner wall face of the pressing block 41 is configured as a second bevel 42. The first bevel 61 and the second bevel 42 mate with each to form a wedge structure.

[0055] In particular, an angle of the first bevel 61 with respect to a horizontal plane is set to be less than an angle of the second bevel 42 with respect to the horizontal plane. The material of the pressing block 41 is preferably a metal material, so that deformation can be prevented during clamping. Here, the angle of the first bevel 61 with respect to the horizontal plane may preferably be 5 to 10 degrees, enabling a press fit between the clamping member 60 and the pressing block 41.

[0056] The pressing blocks 41 may be arranged in an inverted L-shape, and the length of the pressing blocks is close to, or may be slightly shorter than, the length of side portions of the clamping member 60, so that the pressing blocks 41 wrap the two ends of the clamping member 60. Such a structural arrangement is more conducive to increasing the compressive strength between the two.

[0057] The clamping member 60 here can achieve a removable and firm clamping structure by clamping two sides of the weighing module 100, while forming wedge surfaces with the pressing blocks 41. Such a structure can meet the assembly requirements without the need for punching holes or additional machining on the weighing module.

[0058] In addition, at least one notch 70 is provided at the junction of the clamping member 60 and each pressing block 41. For example, a semi-circular hole (i.e., notch 70) is provided in a contact surface of each of the clamping member 60 and the pressing block 41, and the two semi-circular holes may be combined into a circular hole. Such a structure facilitates the disassembly of the wedge structure. When disassembling, only a slight pry with a wrench into the circular hole formed by the two semi-circular holes can separate the clamping member 60 from the pressing block 41.

[0059] When assembling, the clamping member 60 and the pressing block 41 may be compressed by means of a plurality of (e.g., four) screws 80 when being mounted to the weighing module 100.

[0060] In addition, the clamping member 60 is provided with two symmetrically distributed first threaded through holes 62, and a stepped hole in the middle. The stepped hole comprises a first hole 63 and a second hole 64, the first hole 63 being located on top of the second hole 64. Four corners are provided with four second threaded through holes 65, and are fixedly connected to the weighing module 100 by means of the second threaded through holes 65.

[0061] The inner diameter of the stepped hole is the same as the outer dimension of a hole turned out of the shell of the weighing module 100, and the entire clamping member 60  is limited by the stepped hole. When mounting, the pan 110 is removed first, the clamping member 60 is fitted over the hole turned out of the shell, and the pan 110 is mounted to the stepped hole.

[0062] As shown in FIG. 7, an outer wall face of the mounting sleeve 10 is provided with an external thread 11, and a stepped hole is formed in the center of the mounting sleeve. The stepped hole comprises a first connecting hole 12 and a second connecting hole 13 in vertical communication with each other. The first connecting hole 12 has a smaller diameter than the second connecting hole 13.

[0063] As shown in FIG. 8, a cylindrical outer wall face of the spring seat 20 is machined to have a stepped shape, and an upper portion 22 of the spring seat 20 has a smaller diameter than a lower portion 23 thereof. Moreover, the spring seat 20 has a smooth hole 24 and a threaded hole 25 in its center. The smooth hole 24 is used to mount the spring 21, and the threaded hole 25 is used to mate with a connecting member 33 (e.g., a screw) to connect the overload protection plate 30 to the spring seat 20.

[0064] The spring seat 20 is mounted in the mounting sleeve 10, the diameter of the lower portion of the spring seat 20 and the diameter of the second connecting hole 13 match each other, and the diameter of the upper portion of the spring seat 20 and the diameter of the first connecting hole 12 match each other.

[0065] As shown in FIG. 9, when the mounting sleeve 10 and the spring seat 20 are assembled with each other, the spring 21 is first nested in the spring seat 20. The spring seat 20 is then mounted in the mounting sleeve 10. The outer wall face of the mounting sleeve 10 is provided with an external thread 14, and the mounting sleeve 10 is screwed into the first threaded through hole 62 of the clamping member 60 until the bottom of the mounting sleeve 10 comes into contact with the shell. By mating the external thread 14 with an internal thread of the first threaded hole 62, the mounting sleeve 10 is securely connected to the clamping member 60.

[0066] The lower portion 23 of the spring seat 20 mates with the second connecting hole 13 of the mounting sleeve 10, and the upper portion 22 of the spring seat 20 mates with the first connecting hole 12 of the mounting sleeve 10. The external thread 11 of the mounting sleeve 10 mates with the first threaded through hole 62 of the clamping member 60.

[0067] As shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, the two lateral ends of the overload protection plate 30 are provided with countersunk holes 32, and are connected to the spring seat 20 by  means of connecting members 33 (e.g., screws) . Outer wall faces of the two lateral ends of the overload protection plate 30 are provided with outwardly extending steps 34, such that the steps 34 match the limiting plates 50. The size of the through hole 31, which is provided in the middle, is greater than the outer diameter of the pan 110 of the weighing module 100.

[0068] The matching of the steps 34 with the limiting plates 50 here means that when the weighing module is in a transport state, the limiting plates 50 are pressed against lower portions of the steps 34, limiting the overload protection plate 30 from continuing to move downwardly. When the weighing module is in a second weighing state (i.e., the size of a weighed object is less than the size of a weighing platform) , the limiting plates 50 are pressed against upper portions of the steps 34, limiting the upward movement of the overload protection plate 30.

[0069] In addition, the overload protection device further comprises a protective cover 200. The protective cover 200 is mounted on the overload protection plate 30 for covering the pan 110. Preferably, the structure of the protective cover 200 may comprise a rectangular through groove with two projections (not shown) symmetrically located on either side of the center of the through groove, and the protective cover 200 is fastened directly to the overload protection plate 30 by means of the two projections when being mounted. The protective cover 200 is sized such that it can completely cover the pan to protect the pan.

[0070] According to the above structural description, the overload protection device for a high-accuracy electro-magnetic force restoration weighing module of the present invention can realize three different protection states, meeting applications in various situations.

[0071] As shown in FIG. 12, for the first protection state, the weighing module is in the transport state. In this state, a lower end face of the overload protection plate 30 is in contact with upper end faces of the limiting plates 50. Each limiting plate 50 is fixed by means of two screws 52. An upper end face of the overload protection plate 30 is higher than an upper end face of the pan 110, and the height difference is defined as h1. Moreover, the upper protective cover 200 completely covers the pan 110, so that the damage caused by overloading the module by a vertical downward impact force can be completely eliminated.

[0072] As shown in FIG. 13, for the second protection state, the weighing module is in a first weighing state. This first weighing state is mainly for special applications, for example, the weighed object is clamped by a tooling fixture, the maximum dimension of the outline of the tooling is greater than the dimension D1 of the central hole of the overload  protection plate 30 (i.e., the maximum dimension of the tooling for the weighed object is greater than the dimension of the weighing platform) .

[0073] In this case, the protective cover 200 is removed and the lower end face of the overload protection plate 30 is not in contact with the upper end faces of the limiting plates 50. That is, it can be understood that there are no overload protection plate 30 and no limiting plate 50. Before the weighed object comes into contact with the pan, the tooling first touches the overload protection plate 30. The tooling drives the weighed object to move together to compress the springs downwardly, and the weighed object comes into contact with the pan 110 to trigger the weighing.

[0074] The advantage of this state is that the cushioning forces of the springs can reduce the impact force of a loading device on the tooling and the pan during loading, such as the impact caused by a manipulator clamping the tooling. The instantaneous cushioning force of the manipulator is often much larger than the maximum range of the weighing module. Moreover, after the weighing is completed, the manipulator in gripping the object is also first compressing the springs, relying on the springs to cancel out part of the impact force, to protect the weighing module.

[0075] As shown in FIG. 14, for the third protection state, the weighing module is in a second weighing state. In this second weighing state, when the dimension of the outline of the weighed object is smaller than the dimension D1 of the central hole of the overload protection plate 30, we need the upper end face of the pan 110 to have a height that is always greater than the height of the upper end face of the overload protection plate 30. In this case, the upper end face of the pan 110 is always exposed and the height of the overload protection plate 30 needs to be locked. Lower end faces of the limiting plates 50 are in contact with upper end faces of the steps 34 of the overload protection plate 30, and are fixed by means of screws 52.

[0076] The overload protection device for a high-accuracy electro-magnetic force restoration weighing module of the present invention implements the overload protection function by adding an overload protection accessory to the outside of the weighing module without affecting the performance of the weighing module, and the customer's applications in various situations can be met, reducing the user's loss due to human-caused damage to the module.

[0077] In summary, the overload protection device for a high-accuracy electro-magnetic force restoration weighing module of the present invention has the following advantages.

[0078] First, the overload protection function is implemented by adding an overload protection accessory to the outside of the weighing module without affecting the performance of the weighing module, and the customer's applications in various situations can be met, reducing the user's loss due to human-caused damage to the module.

[0079] Second, the entire structure is separable, and can be mounted according to customer needs.

[0080] Third, the entire protection mechanism can provide a variety of protection states, the transport state can avoid damage caused by directly manually pressing the weighing module to overload. In the weighing states, damage to the weighing module by a mechanical device (e.g., a manipulator) can be reduced.

[0081] Fourth, the protection mechanism will not directly contact the pan while performing overload protection on the weighing module, and thus will not affect the performance of the weighing module.

[0082] For those skilled in the art, the foregoing disclosure of the present invention is merely an example and does not constitute a limitation to the present application. Those skilled in the art may make various modifications, improvements, and amendments to the present application, although it is not explicitly stated here. Such modifications, improvements, and amendments are suggested in the present application, and therefore, such modifications, improvements, and amendments still fall within the spirit and scope of exemplary embodiments of the present application.

[0083] Also, the present application uses specific words to describe the embodiments of the present application. For example, "one embodiment" , "an embodiment" , and / or "some embodiments" mean a feature, structure, or characteristic associated with at least one embodiment of the present application. Therefore, it should be emphasized and noted that two or more references to "an embodiment" , "one embodiment" , or "an alternative embodiment" in various places in this specification do not necessarily indicate the same embodiment. In addition, some features, structures, or characteristics in one or more embodiments of the present application may be combined appropriately.

[0084] Similarly, it should be noted that, in order to simplify the expressions disclosed in the present application to facilitate the understanding of one or more embodiments of the present invention, in the foregoing description of the embodiments of the present application, various features may be sometimes incorporated into one embodiment, figure or the description thereof. However, such a method disclosed does not mean that  the subject of the present application requires more features than those mentioned in the claims. In fact, that features of an embodiment are fewer than all of the features of a single embodiment disclosed above.

[0085] Although the particular embodiments of the present invention have been described above, those skilled in the art should understand that these are merely examples, and the scope of protection of the present invention is defined by the appended claims. Various alterations or modifications to these embodiments can be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the principle and essence of the present invention. However, these alterations and modifications all fall within the scope of protection of the present invention.Reference signs list
