[0003] “Thickening agent to optimize the application properties of an oxidative hair lightening agent”

[0004] The present invention relates to a free-flowing hair treatment agent and its use for optimizing the application properties of oxidative hair lightening agents, in particular bleaching powders and bleaching pastes, as well as multi-component kits and methods for lightening or lightening the color of keratinous fibers, in particular human hair, using the free-flowing hair treatment agent according to the invention.

[0005] Lightening one's hair color has always been a desire for many consumers, as blonde hair is considered attractive and fashionable. Various bleaching agents with different levels of strength are available on the market for this purpose. The oxidizing agents contained in these products lighten the hair fiber by oxidatively destroying the hair's natural pigment, melanin. For a moderate bleaching effect, hydrogen peroxide—possibly with the addition of ammonia or other alkalizing agents—is sufficient as the oxidizing agent alone. To achieve a stronger bleaching effect, a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and at least one compound selected from persalts, particularly peroxodisulfate salts and / or peroxomonosulfate salts, is typically used.To enhance the bleaching effect, these products contain higher concentrations of hydrogen peroxide and persalts, especially persulfates. Dark, dark brown, or black hair can thus be lightened by 4 to 6 shades in one step.

[0006] Currently, "balayage," a method of selectively bleaching hair, is very trendy. With this technique, not all of the hair or large sections are bleached, but rather individual strands are exposed to the lightening agent and thus bleached. Unlike traditional highlighting methods, where the strands treated with the bleach are separated from the surrounding hair (which should not be bleached) by mechanical separators such as foils or a highlighting cap during the processing time, "balayage" requires no such mechanical separators. This saves time and materials, because after the strands are treated with the bleach, they don't need to be laboriously wrapped and then unwrapped after the processing time. The time-consuming process of pulling individual strands through the holes of a highlighting cap is also eliminated. To achieve a good balayage effect, it is essential to ensure that the ready-to-use bleaching mixture can be applied precisely. It is also important that the mixture does not wet the adjacent, untreated strands of hair, otherwise a defined color result with clearly distinguishable blonde highlights will not be achieved.

[0007] Conventional bleaching agents are designed as two-component products, consisting of an anhydrous component containing one or more persulfates as bleaching agents and significant amounts of alkalizing agents, and an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution with approximately 2 to 12% hydrogen peroxide by weight. To activate the oxidizing agents, both components are mixed together immediately before application to the hair. The anhydrous persulfate component can be in powder, paste, granules, or tablet form and is typically formulated so that its application mixture with the hydrogen peroxide solution has a relatively low viscosity, allowing for easy and quick distribution over large areas of hair. However, this viscosity is too low for partial bleaching, such as balayage, and therefore less suitable.

[0008] Cosmetic products for the mass market are inexpensive when they can be produced in large quantities. In contrast, products for a specific application, such as the "balayage" technique in this case, tend to be more expensive to manufacture.

[0009] The present invention was therefore based on the objective of providing cost-effectively manufactured oxidative hair lightening agents whose application properties are optimized for the specific requirements of the “balayage” process, i.e., highlighting without the use of mechanical separating agents.

[0010] A further requirement for the oxidative hair lightening kit and process according to the invention was to damage the hair as little as possible despite the harsh chemical conditions prevailing during oxidative lightening, without impairing the quality of the lightening. The active ingredients used for this purpose should be as environmentally friendly as possible, obtained from sustainable raw material sources and / or, if applicable, biodegradable.

[0011] A further object of the present invention was to find oxidative hair lightening kits and hair lightening processes that are superior to prior art bleaching agents or lightening agents in terms of their bleaching performance. Furthermore, the bleaching agents should possess sufficiently high stability and not heat up excessively, even when applied to hair, particularly hair with a higher metal or heavy metal content. It was also an object of the present invention to provide oxidative hair lightening agents, in particular bleaching agents or agents for oxidative color change, that are optimally suited for application at the hair roots, i.e., near the scalp. The bleaching agent must be strong enough to effectively lighten undamaged, stable, and therefore particularly difficult-to-lighten root hair.On the other hand, the potential for skin irritation from the ready-to-use bleaching agent must be kept as low as possible, since when applying the product to the roots, at least small amounts of it will inevitably come into contact with the scalp. Therefore, the ready-to-use agent should develop a creamy, compact consistency and form a crust after application to the hair.

[0012] The tasks are solved by a free-flowing, anhydrous, and oxidant-free hair treatment product, which, in addition to a maximum of 7.0 wt% of additives and 0.1–5.0 wt% of a polysaccharide, consists essentially of one or more solid alkalizing agents and kaolin. Surprisingly, it was found that the use of such an additive in the production of a ready-to-use lightening agent for keratin fibers from a commercially available bleaching powder or paste and a hydrogen peroxide solution optimizes the application properties of the ready-to-use lightening agent for the specific requirements of the "balayage" technique.

[0013] By combining kaolin with the alkalizing agent, in particular with basic magnesium carbonate, also known as magnesium hydroxide carbonate, the application mixture obtained according to the invention becomes significantly more viscous than the standard lightening mixture and forms a kind of crust on the hair. This means that the outer layer of the application mixture dries on the hair, while the inner layer remains moist, thus optimally lightening the hair. The crust that forms ensures that no surrounding strands of hair are wetted and also lightened.

[0014] The additive according to the invention makes it possible to easily and individually adjust the conversion of cost-effectively produced bleaching agent platform formulations into a special product with optimized properties.

[0015] With a lower dosage of the additive, only the viscosity can be adjusted without the application mixture forming a crust. A crust-free thickening of the application mixture can be particularly advantageous for more precise application at the hairline.

[0016] Furthermore, it was surprisingly found that the subsequent addition of the kaolin / alkali additive achieves a significantly higher level of lightening than that achieved by directly combining kaolin, alkalizing agent, and persulfate. With a bleaching powder containing kaolin, alkalizing agent, and persulfate, only 7 levels of lift were achieved, whereas with the embodiment according to the invention, 9 levels of lift were achieved.

[0017] A first object of the present invention is a free-flowing hair treatment composition (V), comprising, in each case based on its weight,

[0027] A fourth object of the present invention is an aqueous, ready-to-use composition for the oxidative lightening or lightening of keratin fibers, in particular hair, comprising three components which are mixed together before application to the keratin fibers, comprising i) a free-flowing hair treatment agent (V) as described above, ii) an oxidative hair lightening agent (B) comprising a) at least one oxidizing agent selected from the inorganic salts of peroxosulfuric acid, and mixtures of these salts, b) at least one inorganic alkalizing agent, solid at 20 °C and 1013 mbar, c) furthermore at least one complexing agent, and d) 0 to 10 wt.%, preferably 0.1 to 8 wt.%, particularly preferably 0.5 to 5 wt.% water, in each case based on the weight of the oxidative hair lightening agent, and iii) an oxidation composition (Ox) comprising, in each case based on its weight, 50 - 96 kg-%, preferably 70-93 wt%, particularly preferably 80-90 wt%, water and 0.5-20 wt% hydrogen peroxide, and furthermore contains at least one pH adjusting agent in such an amount that the oxidation composition has a pH value in the range of 1.5 to 5.5, measured at 20°C, wherein the components (V), (B) and (Ox) are preferably contained in a weight ratio (V) : (B) : (Ox) of (1-10) : (10-30) : (20-50), more preferably (3-7) : (15-25) : (25-45), particularly preferably (4-6) : (18-22) : (30-40).

[0028] A fifth object of the present invention is the use of a free-flowing hair treatment agent (V), as described above, for thickening an aqueous ready-to-use composition for the oxidative lightening or lightening of keratin fibers, in particular hair, comprising i) an oxidative hair lightening agent (B) containing a) at least one oxidizing agent selected from the inorganic salts of peroxosulfuric acid, and mixtures of these salts, b) at least one inorganic alkalizing agent, solid at 20 °C and 1013 mbar, c) furthermore at least one complexing agent, and d) 0 to 10 wt.%, preferably 0.1 to 8 wt.%, particularly preferably 0.5 to 5 wt.% water, in each case based on the weight of the oxidative hair lightening agent, and ii) an oxidation composition (Ox) comprising, in each case based on its weight, 50 to 96 wt.%, preferably 70 to 93 wt.%, particularly preferably 80 - 90 wt.%, water and 0.5 - 20 wt.containing -% hydrogen peroxide and further containing at least one pH adjusting agent in such an amount that the oxidation composition has a pH value in the range of 1.5 to 5.5, measured at 20°C, wherein the components (V), (B) and (Ox) are preferably contained in a weight ratio (V) : (B) : (Ox) of (1-10) : (10-30) : (20-50), more preferably (3-7) : (15-25) : (25-45), particularly preferably (4-6) : (18-22) : (30-40).

[0029] According to the invention, keratin-containing or keratinous fibers are understood to mean, in particular, human hair, but also fur, wool, and feathers. Similarly, the terms "hair treatment agent" and "hair treatment method" are to be understood, according to the invention, as referring to keratinous fibers in general, i.e., according to the invention, specifically human hair, but also fur, wool, and feathers.

[0030] The hydrogen peroxide-containing oxidation composition (Ox) and the persalt-containing oxidative hair lightening agent (B) are stored separately until use to prevent premature deactivation of the persalts. The oxidation composition (Ox), which comprises an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide, has an acidic pH to stabilize the hydrogen peroxide, specifically a pH of 1.5 to 5.5, and particularly 3 to 5, measured at 20°C.

[0031] However, for the melanin-degrading effect of the hydrogen peroxide and the bleaching effect on the keratinous fiber, it is advantageous if the application mixture according to the invention has an alkaline pH value in the range of 8.0 to 11.5, preferably in the range of 8.5 to 11.0, particularly preferably 9.0 - 10.5, and most preferably 9.5 - 10.0, each measured at 20°C.

[0032] To adjust the alkaline pH of the lightening application mixture, the oxidative hair lightening agents (B) used according to the invention contain, in addition to at least one per salt, at least one alkalizing agent that is solid at 20 °C and 1013 mbar in such a total amount that the application mixture has the desired alkaline pH.In addition to the hair treatment agent (V) according to the invention, the oxidative hair lightening agent (B) used according to the invention, and the hydrogen peroxide-containing oxidation composition (Ox) used according to the invention, a fourth composition (Alk) can be added to the application mixture or kit according to the invention, which contains, besides water, one or more alkalizing agents in such an amount that the application mixture has an alkaline pH value in the range of 8.0 to 11.5, preferably in the range of 8.5 to 11.0, particularly preferably 9.0 to 10.5, and most preferably 9.5 to 10.3, in each case measured at 20°C.

[0033] Adding oxidative dye precursors and / or direct dyes to an oxidative hair lightening agent allows the hair to be colored simultaneously. Such hair dyes are offered particularly for consumers with very dark, melanin-rich hair.

[0034] To prevent the pH of the application mixture according to the invention from being diluted into a less alkaline range by the addition of the hair treatment agent (V) according to the invention, the free-flowing hair treatment agent (V) also contains at least one inorganic alkalizing agent, solid at 20 °C and 1013 mbar, in a total amount of 6.9–85 wt.%, based on the weight of the composition (V). Preferably, the total content of solid alkalizing agents is 10–80 wt.%, particularly preferably 15–75 wt.%, further preferably 20–70 wt.%, and most preferably 30–65 wt.%, in each case based on the weight of the composition (V).

[0035] According to the invention, a 1 wt% suspension of the hair treatment agent (V) preferably has a pH value in the range of 9 to 12, particularly preferably in the range of 9.5 to 11.5, more preferably from 10.0 to 11.4, and most preferably from 10.4 to 11.0, each measured at 20°C.

[0036] Preferred inorganic alkalizing agents for the hair treatment composition (V) according to the invention, which are solid at 20 °C and 1013 mbar, are selected from alkaline earth metal hydroxide carbonates, alkaline earth metal carbonates, alkaline earth metal hydroxides, sodium silicates, sodium metasilicates, wherein sodium silicates and sodium metasilicates with a molar SiO2 / Na2O ratio of > 2 are preferred, sodium silicates and sodium metasilicates with a molar SiO2 / Na2O ratio of 2.5-3.5 are particularly preferred, further selected from alkali metal hydroxides, (earth) alkali metal phosphates and (earth) alkali metal hydrogen phosphates as well as mixtures of these substances. For the hair treatment composition (V) according to the invention, particularly preferred inorganic alkalizing agents, which are solid at 20°C and 1013 mbar, are selected from alkaline earth metal hydroxide carbonates, alkaline earth metal carbonates, and alkaline earth metal hydroxides, as well as mixtures thereof, in particular selected from magnesium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and basic magnesium carbonates, which are also referred to as magnesium hydroxide carbonates. Particularly preferred magnesium hydroxide carbonates according to the invention are selected from those with the formula MgCOs ■ Mg(OH)₂ ■ 2 H₂O and those with the formula MgCOs ■ Mg(OH)₂. Magnesium hydroxide carbonate with the formula MgCOs ■ Mg(OH)₂ is particularly preferred according to the invention. Depending on the temperature chosen during the manufacturing process, so-called light basic magnesium carbonate or heavy basic magnesium carbonate is obtained. Heavy basic magnesium carbonate has a bulk density in the range of 350 - 450 g / l (grams per liter).Light basic magnesium carbonate has a bulk density in the range of 80–150 g / l. Light magnesium carbonate is precipitated at approximately 65°C, has smaller particles, and a lower bulk density. Heavy magnesium carbonate is precipitated at approximately 90°C and is more compact, therefore having a higher bulk density.

[0037] According to the invention, it may be particularly preferred to use a mixture of heavy basic magnesium carbonate and light basic magnesium carbonate in the brightening processes and in the aqueous ready-to-use composition according to the invention for the oxidative brightening or brightening dyeing of keratin fibers.

[0038] It was surprisingly discovered that the application properties of a conventional bleaching agent optimized for full-head application can be adapted to the specific requirements of the "balayage" technique by adding a hair treatment agent (V) as an additive to the application mixture. This additive contains, based on the weight of the additive (V), 10–93 wt.%, preferably 15–80 wt.%, particularly preferably 20–60 wt.%, further particularly preferably 23–50 wt.%, and most preferably 25–35 wt.%, kaolin. According to the invention, it is preferred that the kaolin used is purified and, in particular, of pharmaceutical grade. It is further preferred according to the invention that the kaolin used is calcined. It is further preferred according to the invention that the kaolin used is calcined and of pharmaceutical grade.

[0039] Furthermore, it was surprisingly discovered that the application properties of a conventional bleaching agent optimized for full-head application can be adapted to the specific requirements of the "balayage" technique by adding a hair treatment agent (V) as an additive to the application mixture. This additive contains, based on its weight (V), at least one polysaccharide in a total amount of 0.1–5.0 wt.%, preferably 0.5–3.0 wt.%, particularly preferably 0.8–2.0 wt.%, and most preferably 1.0–1.5 wt.%. While not bound by this theory, it is hypothesized that the polysaccharide content in the specified quantity ranges can further control the viscosity of the aqueous phase and optimize it in conjunction with the particulate phase of the additive (V) and the bleaching agent (B), comprising solid inorganic alkalizing agents and kaolin.

[0040] Preferred hair treatment compositions (V) according to the invention are characterized in that the at least one polysaccharide is selected from xanthan gum, cellulose, cellulose ethers of C1-C4 alcohols, cellulose esters, guar gum, alginic acids and their corresponding physiologically acceptable salts, alginates, agar-agar, agarose, karaya gum, locust bean gum, gum arabic, pectins, dextrans, and mixtures thereof. Particularly preferred hair treatment compositions (V) according to the invention are characterized in that the at least one polysaccharide is selected from xanthan gum, cellulose ethers of C1-C4 alcohols and cellulose esters, and mixtures thereof. Particularly preferred cellulose ethers of C1-C4 alcohols are selected from methylcellulose, ethylcellulose, hydroxyalkylcellulose, in particular hydroxyethylcellulose and methylhydroxyalkylcellulose, and mixtures thereof.Particularly preferred cellulose esters are selected from carboxymethyl celluloses, with sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, whose INCI name is Cellulose Gum, being particularly preferred. If the polysaccharides are or can be ionic, their physiologically acceptable salts are also preferably used. Preferably, mixtures of the aforementioned polysaccharides and their physiologically acceptable salts may be included.

[0041] Starches, starch fractions, and starch derivatives such as amylose, amylopectin, and dextrins can, in principle, also be included as polysaccharides. However, it has been found that starches, starch fractions, and starch derivatives exhibit less favorable effects within the scope of the present invention than other polysaccharides. Hair treatment compositions (V) preferred according to the invention are therefore characterized in that the at least one polysaccharide is not a starch, a starch fraction, or a starch derivative.

[0042] According to the invention, it has proven advantageous if the hair treatment product (V) is essentially anhydrous and is composed essentially of the at least one inorganic alkalizing agent and kaolin, and also contains 0.1–5.0 wt.% of polysaccharide(s), wherein further ingredients are present in a total amount of 0 to a maximum of 7.0 wt.%, based on the weight of the hair treatment product (V). These “further ingredients” are preferably selected from oils, complexing agents, sequestrants, in particular sodium hexametaphosphate, as well as hair conditioning agents and perfumes, and mixtures of these ingredients.

[0043] In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the hair treatment agent (V) contains at least one oil in a total amount of 0.1 to 7 wt.%, preferably 0.2 to 5 wt.%, particularly preferably 0.5 to 4 wt.%, and most preferably 1.0 to 3.5 wt.%, in each case based on the weight of the hair treatment agent. It was surprisingly found that an oil content in the specified quantity ranges improves the application properties in balayage, in particular supporting the formation of a particularly smooth crust of the application mixture on the hair strands during the processing time. The oils preferred for use in the hair treatment agent (V) according to the invention are identical to those disclosed below as for dedusting powdered hair lightening agents (B) or as a carrier for paste-like hair lightening agents (B).

[0044] In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the hair treatment agent (V) contains 0.1 to 2.0 wt.%, preferably 0.2 to 1.0 wt.%, particularly preferably 0.3 to 0.8 wt.%, and most preferably 0.4 to 0.6 wt.%, sodium hexametaphosphate, each based on the weight of the hair treatment agent. It was surprisingly found that an addition of sodium hexametaphosphate in the specified amounts advantageously regulates the heat generation in the application mixture at the beginning of the exposure time.

[0045] The free-flowing hair treatment agent (V) is preferably in the form of a powder or granules. It is a bulk material that can flow vertically. According to the invention, preferred hair treatment agents (V) are in the form of a powder and have a bulk density in the range of 150–450 grams / liter, preferably 200–300 g / liter. The bulk density is preferably determined according to EN ISO 60 (version 01 / 2000) or DIN ISO 697 (version 01 / 1984).

[0046] A second object of the present invention is a multi-component packaging unit (kit-of-parts) for lightening keratinous fibers, comprising at least three separately packaged components, of which i) the first component is a free-flowing hair treatment agent (V) as described above, ii) the second component (B) is an oxidative hair lightening agent comprising a) at least one oxidizing agent selected from the inorganic salts of a peroxosulfuric acid, as well as mixtures of these salts, b) at least one inorganic alkalizing agent, solid at 20 °C and 1013 mbar, c) furthermore at least one complexing agent, and d) 0 to 10 wt.%, preferably 0.1 to 8 wt.%, particularly preferably 0.5 to 5 wt.% water, in each case based on the weight of the oxidative hair lightening agent.

[0047] The oxidative hair lightening agent (B) used according to the invention is a substantially anhydrous oxidizing agent preparation containing at least one inorganic salt of peroxosulfuric acid, which is hereinafter also referred to as persalt. The substantially anhydrous oxidative hair lightening agent (B) is preferably in powder form. However, it may also be preferred that the substantially anhydrous oxidative hair lightening agent (B) is in paste form, granular form, or in tablet form.

[0048] "Essentially anhydrous" means that the hair lightening agent (B), based on its weight, contains 0 to 10 wt.%, preferably 0.1 to 8 wt.%, and particularly preferably 0.5 to 5 wt.% water. This refers to the free water content. The content of molecularly bound water or water of crystallization that individual powder components may contain is not taken into account. The water content can be determined, for example, by Karl Fischer titration in accordance with ISO 4317 (version 2011-12).

[0049] Since chemical reactions occur when the oxidative hair lightening agent (B) is mixed with the aqueous hydrogen peroxide-containing composition, releasing gaseous oxygen, the ready-to-use bleaching agent swells more and more during the processing time on the hair. It changes from an initial cream consistency to a foamy, swollen consistency. Due to the coarse-pored foam texture, the ready-to-use bleaching agent of the state of the art does not adhere sufficiently to the hair fiber. This means that less ready-to-use bleaching agent, and therefore less bleaching agent, reaches the hair fiber. To minimize foam formation, it is recommended to keep the surfactant content in the bleaching agent as low as possible or to formulate the product without surfactants and emulsifiers. This can lead to a conflict of objectives, as ready-to-use bleaching agents are often formulated with a certain amount of oil and / or fat components to minimize hair damage during the harsh oxidative hair treatment. However, to make the oil and fat components miscible with the aqueous hydrogen peroxide-containing (Ox) composition, the addition of emulsifiers may sometimes be unavoidable. Certain silicone compounds can suppress foaming, but for reasons of environmental sustainability, the bleaching agents in question should be formulated without the addition of silicone compounds.

[0050] In addition to surfactants and emulsifiers, the thickening agents used in the anhydrous oxidative hair lightening agent (B) are primarily responsible for the foam formation. These thickening agents, which are essentially hydrophilic polymeric thickeners, cause the ready-to-use lightening mixture (B) to take on a cream-like consistency when mixed with the aqueous hydrogen peroxide-containing composition (Ox). This consistency allows the hair to be easily applied initially, but then solidifies on the hair during the processing time to prevent it from dripping off the hair or running onto the scalp.

[0051] Another requirement for the bleaching agents, kits, and procedures presented here was the avoidance of polymers containing acrylic acid, acrylamides, acrylic esters, methacrylic acid, methacrylamides, methacrylic esters, vinylpyrrolidones, vinyl acetate, vinyl alcohol, and / or styrenes as chain-forming monomers. Therefore, the hydrophilic polymeric thickeners should be based on natural raw materials.

[0052] Furthermore, when mixing the anhydrous oxidative hair lightening agent (B) with the hydrogen peroxide-containing oxidation composition (Ox), as little heat of reaction as possible should be generated to avoid thermal irritation of the scalp. Preliminary tests have shown that the heat generation can be influenced by the choice of chelating agent. However, the choice of thickening agent also plays a role.

[0053] To overcome the aforementioned technical problems associated with the heat generated by the reaction, it has proven advantageous within the scope of the present invention that the oxidative hair lightening agent (B) does not contain kaolin. [0157] The following examples illustrate the subject matter of the invention without limiting it thereto.

[0158] Experimental section

[0159] 1. Studies on its applicability in highlighting (balayage)

[0160] Table 1: Bleaching powder as an oxidative hair lightening agent used according to the invention (B)

[0161] (all quantities in wt.%)

[0162] Table 2: Developers containing oxidizing agents as oxidation compositions (Ox) used according to the invention (all quantities in wt.%)

[0163] Table 3: Free-flowing hair treatment agent (V), according to the invention (all quantities in wt.%)

[0164] The hair treatment agent (V) according to the invention, as shown in Table 3, has a bulk density in the range of 200 - 300 g / l.

[0165] A 1 wt% aqueous suspension of the hair treatment product (V) according to Table 3 has a pH value in the range of 10.40 - 11.40, measured at 20°C.

[0166] Performing the hair lightening procedure

[0167] For the lightening process according to the invention with the addition of the hair treatment agent (V), each of the bleaching powders from Table 1 was mixed in a mixing bowl with one of the hydrogen peroxide-containing oil-in-water emulsions according to Table 2 and the hair treatment agent (V) according to Table 3 in a weight ratio of 1 :4:7 (1 part by weight of hair treatment agent (V) and 4 parts by weight of bleaching powder and 7 parts by weight of H2O2 developer) to form a ready-to-use bleaching agent according to the invention.

[0168] For the non-inventive lightening process without the addition of the hair treatment agent (V), each of the bleaching powders from Table 1 was mixed with one of the hydrogen peroxide-containing oil-in-water emulsions according to Table 2 in a weight ratio of 1 :2 (1 part by weight of bleaching powder and 2 parts by weight of H2O2 developer) in a mixing bowl to produce a non-inventive ready-to-use bleaching agent.

[0169] The ready-to-use bleaching agents each had a viscosity in the range of 140,000 - 180,000 mPas, measured at 20°C.

[0170] Each ready-to-use bleaching agent was tested on a quarter of the head of hair on two people per bleaching powder. For this test, the test subject's hair was parted and divided into four application zones. The four different ready-to-use bleaching agents, each with developer #0x1 or #0x2, were applied to dry hair and rinsed out after a 45-minute processing time. The strands were then shampooed, followed by a 5-minute treatment with conditioner, which was also rinsed out, and finally dried.

[0171] Each test subject received a hair treatment according to the invention on one half of the head and a hair treatment not according to the invention on the other side of the head.

[0172] Table 4 summarizes the characteristics of the test subjects' hair:

[0173] Table 4: Hair characteristics of the test subjects

[0174] Test subject #1 was treated with the application mixtures, comprehensively #0x1.

[0175] Test subject #2 was treated with the application mixtures, comprehensively #0x2. During and after the completion of the lightening procedure, various criteria relating to handling and the lightening result were assessed on a rating scale from 1 to 5, where "5" is the best grade and "1" the worst grade.

[0176] Tables 5-1 to 5-4 summarize the evaluation for the two bleaching powders:

[0177] Table 5-1: White powder with additive (V), according to the invention Table 5-2: White powder without additive (V); not according to the invention

[0178] Table 5-3: blue powder with additive (V)

[0179] Table 5-4: blue powder without additive (V); not according to the invention

[0180] Only the application mixtures according to the invention with the additive according to Table 3 had a consistency and drying behavior that allowed precise application of the agent to the strands without the use of mechanical separating agents. The strands treated with the bleaching mixtures according to the invention could be laid down during the processing time without mechanical separating agents, without the bleaching mixture migrating to the untreated hair in a color-relevant quantity.
