Abstract
Description
[0001] This application claims priority from Korean Patent Application No. 10-2019-0014573, filed on February 7, 2019, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. Technical Field

In an embodiment, each of the first anode AE1, the second anode AE2, and the third anode AE3 may also include a metal oxide layer stacked on the metal layer. In an embodiment, each of the first anode AE1, the second anode AE2, and the third anode AE3 may have indium tin oxide ("ITO") / Ag, Ag / ITO, ITO / Mg, or ITO / MgF 2 A two-layer structure or a three-layer structure of ITO / Ag / ITO.
[0078] The pixel defining layer 150 may be located on the first anode AE1, the second anode AE2, and the third anode AE3. The opening exposing the first anode AE1, the opening exposing the second anode AE2, and the opening exposing the third anode AE3 may be defined by the pixel defining layer 150, so that the pixel defining layer 150 may define the first light emitting area LA1, the second light emitting area LA2, the third light emitting area LA3, and the non-light emitting area LB. In such an embodiment, the area of the first anode AE1 not covered by the pixel defining layer 150 may be the first light emitting area LA1. In such an embodiment, the area of the second anode AE2 not covered by the pixel defining layer 150 may be the second light emitting area LA2, and the area of the third anode AE3 not covered by the pixel defining layer 150 may be the third light emitting area LA3. In such an embodiment, the area where the pixel defining layer 150 is located may be the non-light emitting area LB.
[0079] The pixel defining layer 150 may include an organic insulating material such as polyacrylate resin, epoxy resin, phenolic resin, polyamide resin, polyimide resin, unsaturated polyester resin, polyphenylene ether resin, polyphenylene sulfide resin, or benzocyclobutene (“BCB”).
[0080] The organic light emitting layer OL may be located on the first anode AE1, the second anode AE2, and the third anode AE3. The organic light emitting layer OL may emit light L1 of a first color, for example, blue light. In such an embodiment, the organic light emitting layer OL may include a blue light emitting layer. In an embodiment, the organic light emitting layer OL may include two or more blue light emitting layers, and may further include a charge generation layer located between the two blue light emitting layers.
[0081] The organic light emitting layer OL may continuously extend throughout the light emitting areas LA1 to LA6 and the non-light emitting area LB.
[0082] The cathode CE may be located on the organic light emitting layer OL. The cathode CE may have translucency or transparency. In an embodiment in which the cathode CE has translucency, the cathode CE may include Ag, Mg, Cu, Al, Pt, Pd, Au, Ni, Nd, Ir, Cr, Li, Ca, LiF / Ca, LiF / Al, Mo, Ti, or a compound or mixture thereof (e.g., a mixture of Ag and Mg). In such an embodiment, the thickness of the cathode CE may be tens of angstroms to hundreds of angstroms, so that the cathode CE may have translucency.
[0083] In an alternative embodiment where the cathode CE is transparent, the cathode CE may include a transparent conductive oxide ("TCO"). In one embodiment, for example, the cathode CE may include tungsten oxide (W x O y ), titanium oxide (TiO 2 ), ITO, indium zinc oxide ("IZO"), zinc oxide (ZnO), indium tin zinc oxide ("ITZO"), or magnesium oxide (MgO).
[0084] The first anode AE1, the organic layer OL, and the cathode CE may constitute or collectively define a first organic light emitting diode ED1. The second anode AE2, the organic layer OL, and the cathode CE may constitute or collectively define a second organic light emitting diode ED2. The third anode AE3, the organic layer OL, and the cathode CE may constitute or collectively define a third organic light emitting diode ED3. Each of the first organic light emitting diode ED1, the second organic light emitting diode ED2, and the third organic light emitting diode ED3 may provide light L1 of a first color, for example, blue light, to the color conversion substrate 30.
[0085] The thin film encapsulation layer 170 is disposed on the cathode CE. The thin film encapsulation layer 170 is disposed in all regions of the first light emitting region LA1, the second light emitting region LA2, the third light emitting region LA3, and the non-light emitting region LB. In an embodiment, the thin film encapsulation layer 170 directly covers the cathode CE. In an optional embodiment, a cap layer (not shown) covering the cathode CE may also be disposed between the thin film encapsulation layer 170 and the cathode CE. In such an embodiment, the thin film encapsulation layer 170 may directly cover the cap layer.
[0086] The thin film encapsulation layer 170 may include a first encapsulation inorganic layer 171 , an encapsulation organic layer 172 , and a second encapsulation inorganic layer 173 sequentially stacked on the cathode CE.
[0087] Each of the first encapsulation inorganic layer 171 and the second encapsulation inorganic layer 173 may include silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, zirconium nitride, titanium nitride, hafnium nitride, tantalum nitride, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, cerium oxide, silicon oxynitride (SiON) or lithium fluoride, or may be made of silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, zirconium nitride, titanium nitride, hafnium nitride, tantalum nitride, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, cerium oxide, silicon oxynitride (SiON) or lithium fluoride.
[0088] The encapsulating organic layer 172 may include or be made of acrylic resin, methacrylic resin, polyisoprene resin, vinyl resin, epoxy resin, urethane resin, cellulose resin, or perylene resin.
[0089] The stacking structure of the thin film encapsulation layer 170 is not limited to Figure 5 The present invention is not limited to the case shown in FIG. 1 , but various modifications may be made.
[0090] Color conversion substrate 30 will now be described in more detail.
[0091] like Figure 4 As shown in FIG. 3 , light output areas PA1 to PA6 and a light shielding area PB may be defined in the second base 310 .
[0092] In an embodiment, the color conversion substrate 30 may include a second substrate 310, a color filter 330 disposed on the second substrate 310, and a light-adjusting pattern 340 disposed on the color filter 330. In such an embodiment, the color conversion substrate 30 may include a first light blocking member 321 and a second light blocking member 322 overlapping the light blocking region PB.
[0093] The color filter 330 may include a first color filter 331 , a second color filter 332 , and a third color filter 333 .
[0094] The first color filter 331 may be disposed on the surface of the second substrate 310 and may at least partially overlap the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4. The first color filter 331 may be continuously disposed in the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4 along the second direction D2. However, the disclosure is not limited thereto. Optionally, the first color filter 331 located in the first light output area PA1 and the first color filter 331 located in the fourth light output area PA4 may also be spaced apart from each other along the second direction D2.
[0095] In an embodiment, the first color filter 331 may overlap with the light shielding area PB. In such an embodiment, the first color filter 331 may surround the second light output area PA2, the third light output area PA3, the fifth light output area PA5, and the sixth light output area PA6 in a plan view. The first color filter 331 may at least partially overlap with the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4, but may not overlap with the second light output area PA2, the third light output area PA3, the fifth light output area PA5, and the sixth light output area PA6.
[0096] The first color filter 331 may transmit only light of a first color (e.g., blue light) and block or absorb light of a second color (e.g., green light) and light of a third color (e.g., red light). In one embodiment, for example, the first color filter 331 may be a blue color filter and may include a blue colorant such as a blue dye or a blue pigment.
[0097] The first color filter 331 overlapped with the light shielding region PB can reduce reflected light due to external light by absorbing a portion of light incident on the color conversion substrate 30 from the outside of the display device 1. A considerable portion of the external light may be reflected to distort the color gamut of the color conversion substrate 30. In an embodiment, the first color filter 331 is located on the second base 310 to overlap with the light shielding region PB, so that color distortion due to reflection of external light can be reduced.
[0098] The external light or reflected light passing through the first color filter 331 has a blue band. The color sensitivity of the user's eyes generally varies according to the color of the light. More specifically, the user is less sensitive to the light in the blue band than the light in the green band and the light in the red band. Therefore, since the first color filter 331 includes a blue colorant, the user is relatively less sensitive to the reflected light.
[0099] The first light shielding member 321 may be located on a surface of the second base 310 facing the display substrate 10. The first light shielding member 321 may be in contact with the first color filter 331 and spaced apart from the second base 310. The first light shielding member 321 may be located in the light shielding region PB to block the transmission of light. The first light shielding member 321 may be as shown in FIG. Figure 4 , is shown in a substantially lattice shape in a plan view, and may surround each of the light output areas PA1 to PA6.
[0100] The first light shielding member 321 may include an organic light shielding material, and may be formed by coating and exposure of the organic light shielding material.
[0101] As described above, external light may distort the color gamut of the color conversion substrate 30. In an embodiment, the first light shielding member 321 is located on the second base 310, so that the color distortion caused by the reflection of the external light can be reduced by absorbing at least a portion of the external light. The first light shielding member 321 can effectively prevent color mixing caused by light intrusion between adjacent light output areas, thereby further improving the color gamut.
[0102] The second color filter 332 and the third color filter 333 may be disposed on a surface of the second base 310 facing the display substrate 10 .
[0103] The second color filter 332 may be disposed in the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5. The second color filter 332 may be continuously disposed in the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5 along the second direction D2. However, the disclosure is not limited thereto. Optionally, the second color filter 332 located in the second light output area PA2 and the second color filter 332 located in the fifth light output area PA5 may also be spaced apart from each other along the second direction D2.
[0104] The third color filter 333 may be disposed in the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6. The third color filter 333 may be continuously disposed in the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6 along the second direction D2. However, the disclosure is not limited thereto. Optionally, the third color filter 333 located in the third light output area PA3 and the third color filter 333 located in the sixth light output area PA6 may also be spaced apart from each other along the second direction D2.
[0105] The second color filter 332 may block or absorb light of the first color (e.g., blue light). In such an embodiment, the second color filter 332 may be used as a blue light blocking filter that blocks blue light. In such an embodiment, the second color filter 332 may transmit only light of the second color (e.g., green light) and block or absorb light of the first color (e.g., blue light) and light of the third color (e.g., red light). In one embodiment, for example, the second color filter 332 may be a green color filter and may include a green colorant.
[0106] The third color filter 333 may block or absorb light of the first color (e.g., blue light). In such an embodiment, the third color filter 333 may be used as a blue light blocking filter. In such an embodiment, the third color filter 333 may transmit only light of the third color (e.g., red light) and block or absorb light of the first color (e.g., blue light) and light of the second color (e.g., green light). In one embodiment, for example, the third color filter 333 may be a red color filter and may include a red colorant.
[0107] The first cover layer PS1 may be located on the surface of the second substrate 310 to cover the first light blocking member 321, the first color filter 331, the second color filter 332, and the third color filter 333. The first cover layer PS1 may directly contact the first color filter 331, the second color filter 332, and the third color filter 333. In such an embodiment, the first cover layer PS1 may contact the first light blocking member 321.
[0108] The first cover layer PS1 can effectively prevent impurities such as moisture or air from being introduced from the outside and damaging or contaminating the first light shielding member 321, the first color filter 331, the second color filter 332, and the third color filter 333. In such an embodiment, the first cover layer PS1 can effectively prevent the colorant contained in the first color filter 331, the second color filter 332, and the third color filter 333 from diffusing to other elements (such as the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343). In an embodiment, the first cover layer PS1 may include an inorganic material or be made of an inorganic material. In one embodiment, for example, the first cover layer PS1 may include silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, zirconium nitride, titanium nitride, hafnium nitride, tantalum nitride, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, cerium oxide, or silicon oxynitride, or may be made of silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, zirconium nitride, titanium nitride, hafnium nitride, tantalum nitride, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, cerium oxide, or silicon oxynitride.
[0109] The light-adjusting pattern 340 may be disposed on the first cover layer PS1 , and may include a light-transmitting pattern 341 , a first wavelength conversion pattern 342 , and a second wavelength conversion pattern 343 .
[0110] The light-transmitting pattern 341 may be disposed in the first light output region PA1 and the fourth light output region PA4 , but may not be disposed in the other light output regions PA2 , PA3 , PA5 , and PA6 .
[0111] The light-transmitting pattern 341 may include a first base resin 3411 and a first scatterer 3413 dispersed in the first base resin 3411 .
[0112] The first matrix resin 3411 may be a material having high light transmittance and high dispersion characteristics for the first scatterer 3413. In one embodiment, for example, the first matrix resin 3411 may include an organic material such as epoxy resin, acrylic resin, cardo resin, or imide resin.
[0113] The first scatterer 3413 may have a refractive index different from that of the first matrix resin 3411 and may form an optical interface with the first matrix resin 3411. In one embodiment, for example, the first scatterer 3413 may be a light scattering particle. The first scatterer 3413 may be any material capable of scattering at least a portion of the transmitted light. In one embodiment, for example, the first scatterer 3413 may be a metal oxide particle or an organic particle. In such an embodiment, the metal oxide includes titanium oxide (TiO 2 ), zirconium oxide (ZrO 2 ), aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ), indium oxide (In 2 O 3 ), zinc oxide (ZnO) and tin oxide (SnO 2 ). In such an embodiment, the organic particulate material includes acrylic resin and urethane resin. The first scatterer 3413 can scatter the incident light in random directions without substantially changing the wavelength of the light transmitted through the light-transmitting pattern 341, regardless of the incident direction of the light, so that the lateral visibility of the light transmitted through the light-transmitting pattern 341 can be improved.
[0114] The first color light L1 emitted from the first organic light emitting diode ED1 is transmitted to the outside through the light-transmitting pattern 341 and the first color filter 331. In such an embodiment, since the light output from the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4 is not wavelength-converted, the light output from the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4 may be the first color light L1 having the same wavelength as the wavelength of the light L1 emitted from the first organic light emitting diode ED1.
[0115] The first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may be disposed in the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5, but not in the other light output areas PA1, PA3, PA4, and PA6. The first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may convert the peak wavelength of the incident light into another specific peak wavelength, and output light having the converted peak wavelength. In one embodiment, for example, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may convert blue light into green light in the range of about 510 nm to about 550 nm, and may output green light.
[0116] The first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may include a second base resin 3421 and a first wavelength conversion material 3422 dispersed in the second base resin 3421 , and may further include a second scatterer 3423 dispersed in the second base resin 3421 .
[0117] The second matrix resin 3421 may be a material having high light transmittance and high dispersion characteristics for the first wavelength conversion material 3422 and the second scatterer 3423. In one embodiment, for example, the second matrix resin 3421 may include an organic material such as epoxy resin, acrylic resin, cardo resin, or imide resin.
[0118] The first wavelength conversion material 3422 can convert the peak wavelength of the incident light into another specific peak wavelength. In an embodiment, the first wavelength conversion material 3422 may include quantum dots, quantum rods, and phosphors. In an embodiment, for example, quantum dots may be granular materials that emit light of a specific color when electrons transition from a conduction band to a valence band.
[0119] Quantum dots can be semiconductor nanocrystal materials. Quantum dots can have specific band gaps depending on their composition and size. Therefore, quantum dots can absorb light and then emit light with a unique wavelength. In an embodiment, the semiconductor nanocrystals of quantum dots include IV group nanocrystals, II-VI group compound nanocrystals, III-V group compound nanocrystals, IV-VI group compound nanocrystals, and combinations thereof.
[0120] In an embodiment, the Group IV nanocrystals may be, but are not limited to, silicon (Si), germanium (Ge), or a binary compound such as silicon carbide (SiC) or silicon germanium (SiGe).
[0121] In an embodiment, the II-VI compound nanocrystals may be, but are not limited to, binary compounds such as CdSe, CdTe, ZnS, ZnSe, ZnTe, ZnO, HgS, HgSe, HgTe, MgSe, MgS, or combinations thereof; ternary compounds such as CdSeS, CdSeTe, CdSTe, ZnSeS, ZnSeTe, ZnSTe, HgSeS, HgSeTe, HgSTe, CdZnS, CdZn Se, CdZnTe, CdHgS, CdHgSe, CdHgTe, HgZnS, HgZnSe, HgZnTe, MgZnSe, MgZnS or a combination thereof; or a quaternary compound such as HgZnTeS, CdZnSeS, CdZnSeTe, CdZnSTe, CdHgSeS, CdHgSeTe, CdHgSTe, HgZnSeS, HgZnSeTe, HgZnSTe or a combination thereof.
[0122] In an embodiment, the III-V compound nanocrystals may be, but are not limited to, binary compounds such as GaN, GaP, GaAs, GaSb, AlN, AlP, AlAs, AlSb, InN, InP, InAs, InSb, or combinations thereof; ternary compounds such as GaNPs, GaNAs, GaNSb, GaPAs, GaPSb, AlNPs, AlNAs, AlNSb, AlPAs, AlPSb, InNPs, InNAs, InNSb, InPAs, InPSb, or combinations thereof; or quaternary compounds such as GaAlNPs, GaAlNAs, GaAlNSb, GaAlPAs, GaAlPSb, GaInNP, GaInNAs, GaInNSb, GaInPAs, GaInPSb, InAlNP, InAlNAs, InAlNSb, InAlPAs, InAlPSb, or combinations thereof.
[0123] In an embodiment, the IV-VI compound nanocrystals may be, but are not limited to, binary compounds such as SnS, SnSe, SnTe, PbS, PbSe, PbTe, or combinations thereof; ternary compounds such as SnSeS, SnSeTe, SnSTe, PbSeS, PbSeTe, PbSTe, SnPbS, SnPbSe, SnPbTe, or combinations thereof; or quaternary compounds such as SnPbSSe, SnPbSeTe, SnPbSTe, or combinations thereof.
[0124] The quantum dots may be in a form commonly used in the disclosed art, and are not limited to a specific form. In one embodiment, for example, the quantum dots may be spherical, pyramidal, multi-armed or cubic nanoparticles, nanotubes, nanowires, nanofibers or plate-like nanoparticles, etc. The above binary, ternary or quaternary compounds may be present in the particles at a uniform concentration, or may be present in the same particle at partially different concentrations.
[0125] The quantum dot may have a core-shell structure comprising a core comprising the above-mentioned nanocrystal and a shell surrounding the core. The interface between the core and the shell may have a concentration gradient in which the concentration of the element in the shell decreases toward the center. The shell of the quantum dot may be used as a protective layer for maintaining semiconductor properties by preventing chemical denaturation of the core, and / or may be used as a charged layer for imparting electrophoretic properties to the quantum dot. The shell may be a single layer or multiple layers. The shell of the quantum dot may be, for example, a metal or non-metal oxide, a semiconductor compound, or a combination thereof.
[0126] In one embodiment, for example, the metal or non-metal oxide may be, but is not limited to, a binary compound such as SiO 2 、Al 2 O 3 、TiO 2 、ZnO、MnO、Mn 2 O 3 , Mn 3 O 4 , CuO, FeO, Fe 2 O 3 , Fe 3 O 4 , CoO, Co 3 O 4 or NiO; or ternary compounds such as MgAl 2 O 4 、CoFe 2 O 4 、NiFe 2 O 4 or CoMn 2 O 4 .
[0127] In an embodiment, the semiconductor compound may be, but is not limited to, CdS, CdSe, CdTe, ZnS, ZnSe, ZnTe, ZnSeS, GaAs, GaP, GaSb, HgS, HgSe, HgTe, InAs, InP, InSb, AlAs, AlP or AlSb.
[0128] In an embodiment, the light emitted from the first wavelength conversion material 3422 may have a full width at half maximum ("FWHM") of about 45 nm or less, about 40 nm or less, or about 30 nm or less. Thus, the color purity and color reproducibility of the display device 1 may be improved. In such an embodiment, the light emitted from the first wavelength conversion material 3422 may be radiated in various directions regardless of the incident direction of the incident light. Thus, the lateral visibility of the display device 1 may be improved.
[0129] A portion of the first color light L1 emitted from the second organic light emitting diode ED2 may not be converted into green light by the first wavelength conversion material 3422. The component that is not converted by the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 and is incident on the second color filter 332 may be blocked by the second color filter 332, and the green light output from the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may be transmitted to the outside through the second color filter 332. Therefore, the light output from the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5 may be the second color light L2, for example, green light.
[0130] The second scatterer 3423 may have a refractive index different from that of the second matrix resin 3421, and form an optical interface with the second matrix resin 3421. In an embodiment, the second scatterer 3423 may be a light scattering particle. The second scatterer 3423 may be a material that can scatter at least a portion of the transmitted light. In an embodiment, for example, the second scatterer 3423 may be a metal oxide particle or an organic particle. In an embodiment, the metal oxide includes titanium oxide (TiO 2 )、ZrO 2 ), aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ), indium oxide (In 2 O 3 ), zinc oxide (ZnO) and tin oxide (SnO 2 ). In an embodiment, the organic particulate material includes acrylic resin and urethane resin. The second scatterer 3423 can scatter the incident light in random directions without substantially changing the wavelength of the light transmitted through the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, regardless of the incident direction of the light. Therefore, the length of the path of the light transmitted through the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 can be increased, so that the color conversion efficiency of the first wavelength conversion material 3422 can be improved.
[0131] The thickness of the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may be in the range of about 3 micrometers (μm) to about 15 μm. In an embodiment where the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 is formed to have a thickness of about 3 μm or more, the color conversion efficiency of light transmitted through the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may be improved. Considering the simplicity of the process, the upper limit of the thickness of the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may be about 15 μm.
[0132] The content of the first wavelength conversion material 3422 in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may be in the range of about 10% to about 60%, and the content of the second scatterer 3423 in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may be in the range of about 2% to about 15%.
[0133] The second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be disposed in the third and sixth light output regions PA3 and PA6 , but may not be disposed in the other light output regions PA1 , PA2 , PA4 , and PA5 .
[0134] The second wavelength conversion pattern 343 can convert the peak wavelength of the incident light into another specific peak wavelength and output light having the specific peak wavelength. In one embodiment, for example, the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 can convert blue light into red light in the range of about 610nm to about 650nm and output red light.
[0135] The second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may include a third base resin 3431 and a second wavelength conversion material 3432 dispersed in the third base resin 3431 , and may further include a third scatterer 3433 dispersed in the third base resin 3431 .
[0136] The third matrix resin 3431 may be any material having high light transmittance and excellent dispersion characteristics for the second wavelength conversion material 3432 and the third scatterer 3433. In one embodiment, for example, the third matrix resin 3431 may include an organic material such as epoxy resin, acrylic resin, cardo resin, or imide resin.
[0137] As described above, the second wavelength conversion material 3432 can convert the peak wavelength of the incident light into another specific peak wavelength. In one embodiment, for example, the second wavelength conversion material 3432 can convert blue light having a peak wavelength in the range of 430nm to 470nm into red light in the range of about 610nm to about 650nm, and output red light.
[0138] In an embodiment, the second wavelength conversion material 3432 may include quantum dots, quantum rods, and phosphors. The second wavelength conversion material 3432 is substantially the same as or similar to the first wavelength conversion material 3422 described above, and thus any repeated detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0139] The first wavelength conversion material 3422 and the second wavelength conversion material 3432 may all be composed of quantum dots. In such an embodiment, the diameter of the quantum dots constituting the first wavelength conversion material 3422 may be smaller than the diameter of the quantum dots constituting the second wavelength conversion material 3432. In one embodiment, for example, the quantum dot size of the first wavelength conversion material 3422 may be approximately 40 angstroms. to about In addition, the quantum dot size of the second wavelength conversion material 3432 can be about to about within the range.
[0140] Light passing through the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be in a non-polarized state by depolarization. As used herein, "non-polarized light" refers to light that is not composed only of polarization components in a specific direction (i.e., light that is not polarized in a specific direction or light that is composed of random polarization components).
[0141] The third scatterer 3433 may have a refractive index different from that of the third matrix resin 3431, and may form an optical interface with the third matrix resin 3431. In one embodiment, for example, the third scatterer 3433 may be light scattering particles. Other features of the third scatterer 3433 are substantially the same or similar to the corresponding features of the first scatterer 3413 and the second scatterer 3423, and thus any repeated detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0142] The thickness of the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be in the range of 3 μm to 15 μm. In an embodiment where the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 is formed to have a thickness of 3 μm or more, the color conversion efficiency of light transmitted through the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be improved. Considering the simplicity of the process, the upper limit of the thickness of the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be about 15 μm.
[0143] The content of the second wavelength conversion material 3432 in the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be in the range of about 10% to about 60%, and the content of the third scatterer 3433 in the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be in the range of about 2% to about 15%.
[0144] A portion of the first color light L1 emitted from the third organic light emitting diode ED3 may not be converted into red light by the second wavelength conversion material 3432, but may be blocked by the third color filter 333. In such an embodiment, the portion of the first color light L1 emitted from the third organic light emitting diode ED3 converted into red light by the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be transmitted to the outside through the third color filter 333. Therefore, the light output from the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6 may be the third color light L3, for example, red light.
[0145] The areas of the light-transmitting pattern 341, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be different from each other to correspond to the light output areas PA1 to PA6, respectively, but are not limited thereto. Alternatively, the areas of the light-transmitting pattern 341, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be the same as each other.
[0146] The light adjustment pattern 340 may protrude in the thickness direction or the third direction DR3. In an embodiment, the light adjustment pattern 340 may protrude in the direction toward the display substrate 10. The light-transmitting pattern 341, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be disposed at substantially the same height or level from the first substrate 110. However, the disclosure is not limited thereto, and optionally, the light-transmitting pattern 341, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be disposed at different heights from the first substrate 110, or two of the light-transmitting pattern 341, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be disposed at the same height from the first substrate 110, while the other of the light-transmitting pattern 341, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be disposed at a different height from the first substrate 110 than the two of the light-transmitting pattern 341, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343.
[0147] The openings OP1 to OP3 may be defined to pass through the light adjustment pattern 340 to overlap with the light shielding area PB. In an embodiment, a first opening OP1 may be defined in a first light shielding area PB1 between the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4. In such an embodiment, a second opening OP2 may be defined in a second light shielding area PB2 between the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5. In such an embodiment, a third opening OP3 may be defined in a third light shielding area PB3 between the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6. This will be referred to later. Figure 6 and Figure 7 Each of the openings OP1 to OP3 is described in more detail.
[0148] Although not shown in the drawings, a low refractive layer may be further provided between the first cover layer PS1 and the light adjustment pattern 340. The low refractive layer may be provided as a whole on the second substrate 310. The low refractive layer may have a refractive index lower than that of the light adjustment pattern 340. In one embodiment, for example, the difference in refractive index between the light adjustment pattern 340 and the low refractive layer may be about 0.3 or greater. The low refractive layer may include a matrix resin and particles dispersed in the matrix resin. The particles included in the low refractive layer may be zinc oxide (ZnO) particles, titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) particles, hollow silica particles, non-hollow silica particles, nanosilicate particles and porogen particles.
[0149] The low refractive layer may reflect a portion of light emitted from the light adjustment pattern 340 toward the second base 310 back to the light adjustment pattern 340. Therefore, the low refractive layer may improve light utilization efficiency and optical efficiency of the display device 1 by recycling at least a portion of light emitted toward the second base 310.
[0150] The second cover layer PS2 may be disposed on the light adjustment pattern 340. The second cover layer PS2 may completely cover the light-transmitting pattern 341, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343. However, the disclosure is not limited thereto, and optionally, the second cover layer PS2 may only cover the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343.
[0151] The second cover layer PS2 may seal the light-adjusting pattern 340 together with the first cover layer PS1, thereby effectively preventing impurities such as moisture or air from being introduced from the outside and damaging or contaminating the light-adjusting pattern 340. In an embodiment, the second cover layer PS2 may include or be made of an inorganic material. The second cover layer PS2 may include or be made of the same material as that of the first cover layer PS1, or may include at least one of the materials of the first cover layer PS1 described above.
[0152] Although not shown in the drawings, a filter layer may be further provided on the light-adjusting pattern 340. The filter layer may be a reflective filter that transmits light having a specific wavelength region and reflects light having other specific wavelength regions. In one embodiment, for example, the filter layer may transmit blue light and reflect red light and green light.
[0153] The filter layer can improve light output efficiency by circulating the red light and the green light emitted from the wavelength conversion patterns 342 and 343 toward the display substrate 10 back toward the second base 310. In such an embodiment, the filter layer can transmit the first color light L1 emitted from the organic light emitting diodes ED1 to ED3, but reflect light whose central wavelength is longer than the central wavelength of the first color light L1, thereby improving the color purity of the first color light L1 (i.e., blue light emitted from each of the organic light emitting diodes ED1 to ED3).
[0154] The second light shielding member 322 may be located on the second cover layer PS2. The second light shielding member 322 may be located in the light shielding area PB to block the transmission of light. In an embodiment, the second light shielding member 322 may be located between the light-transmitting pattern 341 and the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 and between the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 to prevent color mixing between adjacent light output areas. The second light shielding member 322 may be in the shape of a stripe extending along the second direction D2.
[0155] The second light shielding member 322 may include an organic light shielding material, and may be formed by coating and exposure of the organic light shielding material.
[0156] As described above, the filler 70 may be located in the space between the color conversion substrate 30 and the display substrate 10. The filler 70 may be located between the second cover layer PS2 and the thin film encapsulation layer 170 and between the second light blocking member 322 and the thin film encapsulation layer 170. The filler 70 may be in direct contact with the second cover layer PS2 and the second light blocking member 322.
[0157] In the embodiment, as described above, the openings OP1 to OP3 are defined through the light-adjusting pattern 340 to overlap the light-shielding region PB. Figure 6 and Figure 7 The openings OP1 to OP3 of the light-adjusting pattern 340 are described in more detail.
[0158] Figure 6 It is along Figure 4 FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of a color conversion substrate 30 taken along line VI-VI′. Figure 7 It is along Figure 4 FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of a color conversion substrate 30 taken along line VII-VII′. Figure 8 is with Figure 7 The cross-sectional view corresponds to a cross-sectional view of an alternative embodiment of the color conversion substrate 30 . Figures 6 to 8 Only the color conversion substrate 30 is shown with the light-adjusting pattern 340 facing upward.
[0159] In addition to reference Figure 4 and Figure 5In addition, refer to Figure 6 and Figure 7 , a plurality of openings OP1 to OP3 are defined in the light adjustment pattern 340 . In an embodiment, a first opening OP1 may be defined in the light-transmitting pattern 341 , a second opening OP2 may be defined in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 , and a third opening OP3 may be defined in the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 .
[0160] A first opening OP1 may be defined or formed in the light-transmitting pattern 341 to expose at least a portion of the first cover layer PS1. In a plan view, the first opening OP1 may be defined or formed to overlap with the light-shielding region PB. Specifically, the first opening OP1 may be defined or formed in the first light-shielding region PB1 between the first light output region PA1 and the fourth light output region PA4.
[0161] Gas remaining inside the light-transmitting pattern 341 in the process of forming the light-transmitting pattern 341 may be effectively discharged through the first opening OP1 .
[0162] In the case where the light-transmitting pattern 341 includes an organic material or is formed of an organic material, if the baking process is not sufficiently performed, an uncured solvent component may remain inside the light-transmitting pattern 341. The uncured solvent may cause gas to be generated inside the light-transmitting pattern 341, and the gas inside the light-transmitting pattern 341 may form an empty space in the light-transmitting pattern 341. The empty space may cause insufficient filling of the color conversion substrate 30. Since the empty space has a refractive index different from that of the first base resin 3411 and the first cover layer PS1, the empty space may form an optical interface with the first base resin 3411 and the first cover layer PS1, and may be seen as different from a region in which the empty space is not formed.
[0163] In an embodiment, a first opening OP1 may be defined or formed in a specific region of the light-transmitting pattern 341 to expose the first cover layer PS1. The first opening OP1 may be used as a passage through which the gas inside the light-transmitting pattern 341 is discharged to the outside during the drying process. In such an embodiment in which the first opening OP1 is formed, a larger amount of gas may be discharged even if the drying process is performed simultaneously, compared to a case in which the first opening OP1 is not defined or formed. Therefore, in such an embodiment, the defect rate caused by the gas remaining inside the light-transmitting pattern 341 may be reduced.
[0164] In such an embodiment where the first opening OP1 is defined or formed to overlap the light shielding area PB, the first opening OP1 does not overlap the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4. Therefore, the first opening OP1 can improve the reliability of the display device 1 without changing the brightness characteristics of the light transmitted through the color conversion substrate 30.
[0165] A second opening OP2 may be defined or formed in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 to expose at least a portion of the first cover layer PS1. In a plan view, the second opening OP2 may be defined or formed to overlap the light shielding region PB. In an embodiment, the second opening OP2 may be defined or formed in the second light shielding region PB2 between the second light output region PA2 and the fifth light output region PA5.
[0166] Gas remaining inside the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 in the process of forming the first wavelength conversion pattern 342 may be discharged through the second opening OP2 .
[0167] A third opening OP3 may be defined or formed in the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 to expose at least a portion of the first cover layer PS1. In a plan view, the third opening OP3 may be defined or formed to overlap the light shielding region PB. In an embodiment, the third opening OP3 may be defined or formed in the third light shielding region PB3 between the third light output region PA3 and the sixth light output region PA6.
[0168] Gas remaining inside the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 in the process of forming the second wavelength conversion pattern 343 may be discharged through the third opening OP3 .
[0169] Other features of the second opening OP2 and the third opening OP3 are the same as the corresponding features of the first opening OP1 described above, and thus any repeated detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0170] In an embodiment, as described above, the second capping layer PS2 may cover the entire surface of the light-transmitting pattern 341, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343. In such an embodiment, at least a portion of the second capping layer PS2 may contact the first capping layer PS1 exposed through each of the openings OP1 to OP3.
[0171] In an embodiment, Figure 6 and Figure 7 As shown in FIG. 1 , each of the openings OP1 to OP3 is defined or formed in the light-adjusting pattern 340 to expose the first cover layer PS1, but is not limited thereto. Figure 8 As shown in FIG. 3 , each of the openings OP1 to OP3 may be defined or formed to partially pass through the light-adjusting pattern 340 without exposing the first capping layer PS1 .
[0172] Figure 8 is with Figure 7 , and is a cross-sectional view specifically showing the second opening OP2_1. In such an embodiment, although Figure 8Although not shown, the first and third openings OP1 and OP3 may have substantially the same structure as that of the second opening OP2_1 , and any repeated detailed description of the first and third openings OP1 and OP3 will be omitted for ease of description.
[0173] In the second opening OP2_1, Figure 8 In the embodiment where the first capping layer PS1 is not exposed as shown in FIG, the first capping layer PS1 and the second capping layer PS2 may not contact each other in the second light blocking region PB2. In such an embodiment, at least a portion of the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_1 may be disposed between the first capping layer PS1 and the second capping layer PS2.
[0174] In such an embodiment in which the second opening OP2_1 is formed not to expose the first capping layer PS1, it is possible to prevent the first capping layer PS1 from being damaged in a process of forming the second opening OP2_1. Figure 8 Such features of the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 can also be applied to the structures of other embodiments to be described later.
[0175] Hereinafter, various optional embodiments of the display device will be described. In the following embodiments, the same or identical elements as those of the above-described embodiments will be represented by the same reference numerals, and any repeated detailed description thereof will be omitted or simplified. The following embodiments will be described mainly focusing on the differences from the above-described embodiments.
[0176] Fig. 9 and Fig.10 is a cross-sectional view of an alternative embodiment of a display device. Fig. 9 and Fig.10 is with Figure 5 The sectional view shown in corresponds to the sectional view.
[0177] Except that the color conversion substrate 30_2 does not include the second color filter 332 and the third color filter 333 but includes the fourth color filter 334_2, Fig. 9 The embodiment of the display device 1_2 shown in Figure 5 The embodiments are the same or similar.
[0178] In addition to reference Figure 4 and Figure 5 In addition, refer to Fig. 9 , an embodiment of the color conversion substrate 30_2 may include a second base 310, a color filter 330_2 disposed on a surface of the second base 310, and a first light blocking member 321. The color filter 330_2 may include a first color filter 331 and a fourth color filter 334_2.
[0179] The second base 310 may be disposed to face the display substrate 10, and the first color filter 331 may be disposed on the surface of the second base 310. The first color filter 331 may be disposed in the first light output area PA1, the fourth light output area PA4, and the light shielding area PB around the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4. The first light shielding member 321 may be disposed on the surface of the first color filter 331 and overlap the light shielding area PB between the light output areas PA.
[0180] The fourth color filter 334_2 may be continuously disposed in the second light output area PA2 and the third light output area PA3 along the first direction D1. The fourth color filter 334_2 may be continuously disposed in the fifth light output area PA5 and the sixth light output area PA6 along the second direction D2. In an embodiment, the fourth color filter 334_2 may cover the first color filter 331 and the first light shielding member 321 between the second light output area PA2 and the third light output area PA3 and between the fifth light output area PA5 and the sixth light output area PA6.
[0181] In such an embodiment, the fourth color filter 334_2 may overlap the second light shielding region PB2 between the second light output region PA2 and the fifth light output region PA5 and the third light shielding region PB3 between the third light output region PA3 and the sixth light output region PA6.
[0182] The fourth color filter 334_2 may block or absorb light of the first color (e.g., blue light). In such an embodiment, the fourth color filter 334_2 may be used as a blue light blocking filter. In such an embodiment, the fourth color filter 334_2 may transmit light of the second color (e.g., green light) and light of the third color (e.g., red light), and block or absorb light of the first color (e.g., blue light). In one embodiment, for example, the fourth color filter 334_2 may be a yellow color filter and may include a yellow colorant or may include a green colorant and a red colorant.
[0183] The other elements are the same as the corresponding elements described above, and thus any repeated detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0184] In addition to the first color filter 331_3 of the color conversion substrate 30_3 being provided only in the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4, Fig.10 The embodiment of the display device 1_3 shown in Figure 5 The embodiments are the same or similar.
[0185] In addition to reference Figure 4 and Figure 5 In addition, refer to Fig.10, an embodiment of the color conversion substrate 30_3 may include a second base 310, a first light blocking member 321 disposed on a surface of the second base 310, and a color filter 330_3. The color filter 330_3 may include a first color filter 331_3, a second color filter 332, and a third color filter 333.
[0186] The second base 310 may be disposed to face the display substrate 10, and the first light blocking member 321 may be disposed on a surface of the second base 310. The first light blocking member 321 may be disposed in the light blocking area PB between the light output areas PA.
[0187] The first color filter 331_3, the second color filter 332, and the third color filter 333 may be disposed on the surface of the first light shielding member 321 and the second substrate 310. In an embodiment, the first color filter 331_3 may be disposed in the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4, but not in the other light output areas PA2, PA3, PA5, and PA6. The second color filter 332 may be disposed in the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5, but not in the other light output areas PA1, PA3, PA4, and PA6. The third color filter 333 may be disposed in the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6, but not in the other light output areas PA1, PA2, PA4, and PA5.
[0188] The first color filter 331_3 may transmit only blue light, and block or absorb green light and red light. In one embodiment, for example, the first color filter 331_3 may be a blue color filter, and include a blue colorant such as a blue dye or a blue pigment.
[0189] The second color filter 332 may transmit only green light, and block or absorb blue light and red light. In one embodiment, for example, the second color filter 332 may be a green color filter, and include a green colorant.
[0190] The third color filter 333 may transmit only red light, and block or absorb blue light and green light. In one embodiment, for example, the third color filter 333 may be a red color filter, and include a red colorant.
[0191] In the light blocking region PB, one end of the first color filter 331_3 may contact one end of the second color filter 332 , and the other end of the second color filter 332 may contact one end of the third color filter 333 .
[0192] Each of the first color filter 331_3 , the second color filter 332 , and the third color filter 333 may have a substantially uniform thickness.
[0193] The first capping layer PS1 may completely cover the color filter 330_3 and may be formed to have a substantially uniform thickness along a surface of the color filter 330_3.
[0194] The other elements are the same as the corresponding elements described above, and thus any repeated detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0195] Fig.11 and Fig.12 1 is a schematic plan view of an alternative embodiment of a color conversion substrate of a display device. Specifically, in addition to the configuration of the color conversion substrate 30 (specifically, the openings OP1 to OP3 of the color conversion substrate 30), Fig.11 and Fig.12 The embodiment of the color conversion substrate shown in Figure 4 The embodiments of the present invention are substantially the same or similar. Therefore, any repeated description of the same or identical elements will be omitted.
[0196] Fig.11 The color conversion substrate 30_4 and Figure 4 The color conversion substrate 30 is different in that a plurality of openings OP1_4, OP2_4, or OP3_4 are defined or formed in each light shielding region PB1, PB2, or PB3.
[0197] In addition to reference Figure 4 In addition, refer to Fig.11 , an embodiment of the color conversion substrate 30_4 includes a plurality of light output areas PA and a light shielding area PB surrounding each light output area PA. In such an embodiment, the color conversion substrate 30_4 may include a light adjustment pattern 340_4 overlapping each light output area PA. In such an embodiment, the light adjustment pattern 340_4 may include a light-transmitting pattern 341_4 overlapping the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4, a first wavelength conversion pattern 342_4 overlapping the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5, and a second wavelength conversion pattern 343_4 overlapping the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6.
[0198] The light-transmitting pattern 341_4, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_4, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343_4 may be continuously disposed along the second direction D2. In an embodiment, the light-transmitting pattern 341_4 may overlap with the first light-shielding area PB1 between the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_4 may overlap with the second light-shielding area PB2 between the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343_4 may overlap with the third light-shielding area PB3 between the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6.
[0199] In such an embodiment, a plurality of openings OP_4 overlapping the light blocking region PB are defined in the light-adjusting pattern 340_4. In such an embodiment, the openings OP_4 may overlap the light blocking region PB in a thickness direction of the light-adjusting pattern 340_4.
[0200] The opening OP_4 may include a first opening OP1_4 , a second opening OP2_4 , and a third opening OP3_4 . The first opening OP1_4 may overlap the first light blocking region PB1 , the second opening OP2_4 may overlap the second light blocking region PB2 , and the third opening OP3_4 may overlap the third light blocking region PB3 .
[0201] In an embodiment, Figure 4 As shown in , a single opening OP1, OP2 or OP3 is defined in each of the first light shielding region PB1, the second light shielding region PB2 and the third light shielding region PB3. Fig.11 As shown in FIG, a plurality of openings OP1_4, OP2_4 or OP3_4 are defined in each of the first light shielding region PB1, the second light shielding region PB2 and the third light shielding region PB3. Fig.11 In the embodiment, two openings OP1_4, OP2_4 or OP3_4 are provided in each of the light shielding regions PB1 to PB3, but are not limited thereto. Alternatively, more than two openings OP_4 may be defined in each of the light shielding regions PB1 to PB3.
[0202] The openings OP1_4 to OP3_4 respectively formed in the light shielding regions PB1 to PB3 may have the same size as each other. However, the disclosure is not limited thereto. Optionally, in a plan view, the areas of the openings OP1_4 to OP3_4 in different light shielding regions PB1, PB2, and PB3 may be different from each other. In such an embodiment, the areas of the openings OP1_4, OP2_4, or OP3_4 in the same light shielding region PB1, PB2, or PB3 may be different from each other.
[0203] In each of the light shielding areas PB1, PB2, and PB3, Fig.11 In the embodiment where a plurality of openings OP1_4, OP2_4 or OP3_4 are formed as shown in FIG, the area of the light-adjusting pattern 340_4 exposed to the outside can be increased. Therefore, the internal residual gas can be discharged more effectively.
[0204] Fig.12 The color conversion substrate 30_5 and Figure 4 The color conversion substrate 30 is different in that each of the openings OP1_5, OP2_5, or OP3_5 has a quadrilateral shape in a plan view.
[0205] In addition to reference Figure 4In addition, refer to Fig.12 , an embodiment of the color conversion substrate 30_5 includes a plurality of light output areas PA and a light shielding area PB surrounding each light output area PA. In addition, the color conversion substrate 30_5 may include a light adjustment pattern 340_5 overlapping each light output area PA. In an embodiment, the light adjustment pattern 340_5 may include a light-transmitting pattern 341_5 overlapping the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4, a first wavelength conversion pattern 342_5 overlapping the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5, and a second wavelength conversion pattern 343_5 overlapping the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6.
[0206] In such an embodiment, a plurality of openings OP_5 overlapping the light blocking region PB may be defined in the light-adjusting pattern 340_5 .
[0207] Each of the openings OP_5 may have a quadrilateral shape in a plan view, or may have one of various shapes according to the shape of the area between the light output areas PA. In one embodiment, for example, the first opening OP1_5 may be shaped like a rectangle in a plan view whose width W11 in the first direction D1 is greater than its width W21 in the second direction D2. In such an embodiment, the width W11 of the first opening OP1_5 in the first direction D1 may be smaller than the width WP of the light-transmitting pattern 341_5 in the first direction D1.
[0208] In such an embodiment, the shape of each opening OP_5 may be variously modified in such a manner as to increase the area of the light-adjusting pattern 340_5 exposed to the outside according to the area of the light-shielding area PB between the light output areas PA. Therefore, internal residual gas may be effectively discharged.
[0209] Figures 13 to 18 are schematic plan views and schematic cross-sectional views of other alternative embodiments of a color conversion substrate for a display device. Figures 13 to 18 The embodiments shown in Figure 4 and Figure 5 The embodiment of FIG. 4 is different in that the opening OP of the color conversion substrate 30 .
[0210] In addition to forming the opening OP_6 only in the second light shielding region PB2, Fig.13 and Fig.14 The color conversion substrate 30_6 and Figure 4 and Figure 6 Therefore, any repeated detailed description of the same or like elements will be omitted.
[0211] In addition to reference Figure 4 and Figure 6 In addition, refer to Fig.13 and Fig.14 , an embodiment of the color conversion substrate 30_6 includes a plurality of light output areas PA and a light shielding area PB surrounding each of the light output areas PA. In such an embodiment, the color conversion substrate 30_6 may include a light adjustment pattern 340_6 overlapping each light output area PA. In such an embodiment, an opening OP_6 overlapping the light shielding area PB is defined in the light adjustment pattern 340_6.
[0212] The light-adjusting pattern 340_6 may include a light-transmitting pattern 341_6 , a first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6 , and a second wavelength conversion pattern 343_6 .
[0213] The light-transmitting pattern 341_6 may be continuously disposed in the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4 along the second direction D2. The first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6 may be continuously disposed in the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5 along the second direction D2. The second wavelength conversion pattern 343_6 may be continuously disposed in the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6 along the second direction D2.
[0214] In such an embodiment, as described above, the opening OP_6 is defined in the light adjustment pattern 340_6, and the opening OP_6 may be defined or formed only in the second light shielding area PB2 overlapping the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6. In the case where the gas remaining inside the light-transmitting pattern 341_6 and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343_6 is sufficiently removed but the gas remaining inside the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6 is not sufficiently removed, the opening OP_6 may be formed only in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6 to discharge the remaining gas.
[0215] Specifically, the gas remaining inside the light-transmitting pattern 341_6, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6, and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343_6 may be different according to the formation order of each pattern. In one embodiment, for example, when the second wavelength conversion pattern 343_6 and the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6 are sequentially formed after the light-transmitting pattern 341_6 is first formed, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6 formed last undergoes only one drying process. Therefore, the gas inside the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6 may not be fully discharged. In such an embodiment, the gas remaining inside the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6 may be fully discharged by forming the opening OP_6 only in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_6 formed last.
[0216] In the embodiment, as described above, the opening OP_6 may be formed only in the second light shielding region PB2, but is not limited thereto. Alternatively, the opening OP_6 may be formed only in the first light shielding region PB1 or may be formed only in the third light shielding region PB3 according to the gas remaining inside each pattern.
[0217] In addition to the fact that the area of the second opening OP2_7 formed in the second light shielding region PB2 is larger than the area of the first opening OP1_7 formed in the first light shielding region PB1 and the area of the third opening OP3_7 formed in the third light shielding region PB3, Fig.15 and Fig.16 The color conversion substrate 30_7 and Figure 4 and Figure 6 Therefore, any repeated detailed description of the same or like elements will be omitted.
[0218] In addition to reference Figure 4 and Figure 6 In addition, refer to Fig.15 and Fig.16 , an embodiment of the color conversion substrate 30_7 includes a plurality of light output areas PA and a light shielding area PB surrounding each of the light output areas PA. In such an embodiment, the color conversion substrate 30_7 may include a light adjustment pattern 340_7 overlapping each of the light output areas PA.
[0219] The light adjustment pattern 340_7 may include a light-transmitting pattern 341_7, a first wavelength conversion pattern 342_7, and a second wavelength conversion pattern 343_7. The light-transmitting pattern 341_7 may be continuously disposed in the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4 along the second direction D2. The second wavelength conversion pattern 343_7 may be continuously disposed in the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6 along the second direction D2.
[0220] In such an embodiment, a plurality of openings OP_7 overlapping the light shielding area PB are defined in the light adjustment pattern 340_7. In such an embodiment, the first opening OP1_7 may overlap the first light shielding area PB1 between the first light output area PA1 and the fourth light output area PA4. In such an embodiment, the second opening OP2_7 may overlap the second light shielding area PB2 between the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5. [0221] In one embodiment, for example, in cross section, the width WOP2 of the second opening OP2_7 may be greater than the width WOP1 of the first opening OP1_7 and the width WOP3 of the third opening OP3_7.
[0222] The number of the first openings OP1_7 defined in the first light shielding region PB1 and the number of the third openings OP3_7 defined in the third light shielding region PB3 may be equal to each other. In the case where the amount of gas remaining inside the second wavelength conversion pattern 343_7 is greater than the amount of gas remaining inside the light-transmitting pattern 341_7, the area of the third opening OP3_7 may be formed to be greater than the area of the first opening OP1_7.
[0223] In an embodiment where the area of the second opening OP2_7 is larger than the area of the first opening OP1_7 and the area of the third opening OP3_7, the gas remaining inside the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_7 can be effectively discharged. In an embodiment, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_7 can be finally formed as described above, so that the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_7 undergoes a baking process. Therefore, more gas may remain in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_7 than in the light-transmitting pattern 341_7 and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343_7. In such an embodiment, the second opening OP2_7 larger than the other openings may be formed in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_7 to facilitate gas discharge.
[0224] In addition to the fact that the number of the second openings OP2_8 defined in the second light-shielding region PB2 is greater than the number of the first openings OP1_8 defined in the first light-shielding region PB1 and the number of the third openings OP3_8 defined in the third light-shielding region PB3, Fig.17 and Fig.18 The color conversion substrate 30_8 and Figure 4 and Figure 6 The color conversion substrate 30 of the embodiment of the present invention is the same or similar. Therefore, the differences will be mainly described.

In such an embodiment, the second opening OP2_8 may overlap with the second light shielding area PB2 between the second light output area PA2 and the fifth light output area PA5. In such an embodiment, the third opening OP3_8 may overlap with the third light shielding area PB3 between the third light output area PA3 and the sixth light output area PA6.
[0229] A larger number of openings OP_8 may be defined in the second light shielding region PB2 than in the first light shielding region PB1 and the third light shielding region PB3. In such an embodiment, the number of second openings OP2_8 defined in the second light shielding region PB2 may be greater than the number of first openings OP1_8 and the number of third openings OP3_8.
[0230] The plurality of second openings OP2_8 a and OP2_8 b defined in the second light blocking region PB2 may have the same area as each other, or may have different areas from each other.
[0231] The number of the first openings OP1_8 defined in the first light shielding region PB1 and the number of the third openings OP3_8 defined in the third light shielding region PB3 may be equal to each other. In the case where the amount of gas remaining inside the second wavelength conversion pattern 343_8 is greater than the amount of gas remaining inside the light-transmitting pattern 341_8, the number of the third openings OP3_7 may be greater than the number of the first openings OP1_7.
[0232] When the number of the second openings OP2_8 is greater than the number of the first openings OP1_8 and the number of the third openings OP3_8, the gas remaining inside the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_8 can be effectively discharged. In an embodiment, the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_8 can be finally formed as described above, so that the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_8 undergoes a baking process. Therefore, more gas may remain in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_8 than in the light-transmitting pattern 341_8 and the second wavelength conversion pattern 343_8. In such an embodiment, a larger number of second openings OP2_8 may be formed in the first wavelength conversion pattern 342_8 to facilitate gas discharge.
