Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to a vehicle-mounted device partially housed inside the dashboard. Background Technology

[0002] As such a device, a mechanism is currently known that allows an in-vehicle device with a display to protrude from an opening in the dashboard and be mounted on the vehicle body. For example, Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2019-217849 (JP2019-217849A) describes such a device. In the device described in JP2019-217849A, a cover is sandwiched between the display and the dashboard, sealing the gap between them.

[0003] However, there are situations where users change the size of the display according to their preferences. However, in the device described in JP2019-217849A, since the cover is set to correspond to the size of the display, the cover also needs to be changed when the size of the display is changed, resulting in increased costs. Summary of the Invention

[0004] One aspect of the present invention provides an in-vehicle device comprising: a display unit integrally having a display and a main body, wherein the display extends in both width and height directions and is generally rectangular when viewed from the front, and the main body is disposed on the rear side of the display; and a cover member disposed between the display unit and an end of an instrument panel. The display has a first mounting portion on its rear side, which is located above the main body. The cover member has a generally plate-shaped base extending along the rear side of the display and being shorter in width than the display. The base has: a second mounting portion corresponding to the first mounting portion for mounting the cover member to the first mounting portion; and a support portion supporting an end of the instrument panel. [0024] The following is for reference Figures 1 to 17 An embodiment of the present invention will be described. The vehicle-mounted device of the present invention is configured to include a navigation unit located in the center of an instrument panel disposed, for example, in the front part of a vehicle interior.

[0025] Figure 1 This is a perspective view showing the external configuration of the vehicle-mounted device 100 according to an embodiment of the invention. Hereinafter, based on the vehicle's longitudinal direction (vehicle length direction), lateral direction (vehicle width direction), and vertical direction (vehicle height direction), for convenience, the longitudinal direction, lateral direction, and vertical direction are defined as shown in the figure, and the configuration of each part is explained according to these definitions.

[0026] Figure 1 This is a diagram showing the vehicle-mounted device 100 as viewed from the rear of the vehicle interior. (See diagram.) Figure 1 As shown, the vehicle-mounted device 100 has a generally rectangular, thin display 11, which is positioned behind the instrument panel 1 at the center of the vehicle width direction and extends in the vertical and horizontal directions. The display 11 is either upright with its display surface 11a facing rearward, or tilted rearward and slightly upward. The display 11 (display surface 11a) displays not only road map information and route guidance information to the destination, but also images captured by a vehicle-mounted camera (e.g., a rear camera) not shown. It should be noted that... Figure 1 In the example shown is an 11-inch display 11. This display 11 is compared with the smaller display 11B described later. Figure 9 ( ) can be distinguished, and there are cases indicated by reference numeral 11A in the attached figure.

[0027] Figure 2 This is a perspective view showing the overall structure of the vehicle-mounted device 100 when viewed from a diagonal front. Figure 3 This is a rear view showing the overall configuration of the vehicle-mounted device 100 as viewed from the front (rear side). It should be noted that... Figure 3 The diagram shows the state of the vehicle-mounted device 100 during assembly, with a portion of the diagram (the navigation panel 50 described later) omitted.

[0028] like Figure 2 , Figure 3As shown, the vehicle-mounted device 100 is generally symmetrically configured. A main body 12 is positioned in front of the display 11, and this main body 12 has a frame 12a in a generally rectangular parallelepiped shape. The frame 12a is integrally mounted to the back 11b of the display 11, and the display 11 and the main body 12 constitute the navigation unit 10. The width (length in the left-right direction) and height (length in the up-down direction) of the frame 12a are shorter than the width and height of the display 11, and the frame 12a is configured not to extend outwards from the top, bottom, left, or right ends of the display 11. More specifically, the bottom surface of the frame 12a is set on a surface approximately the same as the bottom surface of the display 11. The height of the frame 12a is approximately half the height of the display 11, and when viewed from the front, the upper side of the back 11b of the display 11 is exposed.

[0029] The main body 12 houses control circuitry for controlling the display 11. It should be noted that the main body 12 can also house a radio, CD player, DVD player, digital audio player, etc., and output its sound from speakers installed in the vehicle. That is, the navigation unit 10 can also be used as a car audio system. In this case, various guidance information, received images from a television broadcast receiver, etc., can also be displayed on the display 11.

[0030] Figure 4 This is an exploded perspective view of the vehicle-mounted device 100. (See diagram below.) Figure 4 As shown, the vehicle-mounted device 100 includes a navigation unit 10, a lower panel 20, an upper bracket 30, a pair of left and right lower brackets 40, and a navigation panel 50. It should be noted that... Figure 4 The image also shows an instrument panel 1 covering the main body 12 of the navigation unit 10. Figure 4 The lower panel 20 and the navigation panel 50 shown are integrally formed using resin as the constituent material.

[0031] The bottom panel 20 has: a base 21 that is elongated in the left-right direction and extends in a generally horizontal direction; a pair of left and right front walls 22 that are erected upward and diagonally upward from the front edge of the base 21; and a pair of right side walls 23 that are formed in a curved shape to connect the left and right ends of the base 21 to the left and right ends of the front walls 22. A generally concave notch 24 is formed between the left and right front walls 22. The left-right length of the base 21 is longer than the left-right length of the display 11. On the other hand, the left-right length of the notch 24 is shorter than the left-right length of the display 11, but longer than the left-right length of the main body 12 (frame 12a).

[0032] Therefore, as Figure 2 , 3As shown, the display 11 is positioned behind the front wall 22 and on the base 21, while the main body 12 is positioned in front of the front wall 22, separated by a notch 24. It should be noted that the longitudinal length of the base 21 is approximately equal to, or longer than, the longitudinal length of the display 11. The upper surface of the main body 12 is positioned above the upper end of the front wall 22.

[0033] like Figure 4 As shown, the upper bracket 30 has: a generally rectangular horizontal plate portion 31 extending in the left-right direction; and a pair of generally rectangular vertical plate portions 32 extending upward from the left and right ends of the horizontal plate portion 31. The upper bracket 30 is formed, for example, by bending metal, and is generally U-shaped. The distance between the left and right vertical plate portions 32 is approximately equal to the left-right length of the main body 12 (frame 12a), such as... Figure 2 , 3 As shown, the upper bracket 30 is installed on the left and right sides and bottom of the main body 12 by means of bolts (not shown).

[0034] like Figure 4 As shown, the left and right lower brackets 40 have a generally rectangular horizontal plate portion 41 and a generally rectangular vertical plate portion 42 extending downward from the rear end of the horizontal plate portion 41. The lower brackets 40 are formed by bending metal, for example, and are generally L-shaped overall. Figure 2 , 3 As shown, the horizontal plate portion 41 of the lower bracket 40 is installed with bolts in a state of contact with the bottom surface of the horizontal plate portion 31 of the upper bracket 30, and a pair of vertical plates 42 protrude downward from the bottom surface of the main body 12 of the navigation unit 10.

[0035] like Figure 4 As shown, the navigation panel 50 has a base 51 extending in the left-right direction and a pair of left and right sidewall portions 52 extending downward from the left and right ends of the base 51. Figure 5 This is a perspective view (viewed from the oblique front) showing the composition of the navigation panel 50 in more detail.

[0036] like Figure 5 As shown, the base 51 is generally rectangular in shape, and on its front surface 510, there are three bulges 511 protruding forward in the left-right direction. Through holes 512 are provided through each bulge 511 in the front-back direction. It should be noted that the bulge 511 at the center in the left-right direction has a single through hole 512, while the bulges 511 on the left and right sides each have a pair of through holes 512.

[0037] The sidewall portion 52 has side plates 521 that are respectively connected to the left and right ends of the base portion 51. The rear edge of the side plate 521 extends in a generally vertical direction, while the front edge extends downward in an oblique forward direction. Therefore, the side plate 521 has a generally right-angled triangular shape when viewed from the side. A plurality of generally plate-shaped ribs 522 are provided on the inner surfaces of the side plates 521 in the left and right directions, protruding inward in the left and right directions. The plurality of ribs 522 extend in the front-rear direction and are arranged at equal intervals in the vertical direction. By providing ribs 52 on the side plate 521, the rigidity of the side plate 521 is improved.

[0038] like Figure 3 As shown, on the back surface 11b of the display 11, there are three protruding bosses 111 along the left-right direction. These bosses 111 each have threaded holes 112 at positions corresponding to the through holes 512 of the navigation panel 50. For example... Figure 2 As shown, the navigation panel 50 can be mounted on the back 11b of the display 11 by screwing the bolt 14 (self-tapping screw) through the through hole 512 into the threaded hole 112.

[0039] Figure 5 The length between the left and right sidewalls 52 of the navigation panel 50, or more precisely, the length from the right end of the rib 522 of the left sidewall 52 to the left end of the rib 522 of the right sidewall 52, is longer than the left-right length of the main body 12 of the navigation unit 10. Therefore, as Figure 2 As shown, with the navigation panel 50 mounted on the back 11b of the display 11, the left and right sidewall portions 52 are located on the left and right outer sides of the main body 12 without contacting it. Thus, the left and right sides of the main body 12 are covered by the sidewall portions 52, improving aesthetics (appearance).

[0040] like Figure 5 As shown, on the front surface 510 of the base 51 of the navigation panel 50, above the bulge 511, is provided a space for the instrument panel 1 ( Figure 4 The rear end of the device has multiple engaging portions 53 and fitting portions 54 that engage and fit together. The engaging portions 53 are respectively provided in three positions above the multiple protruding portions 511, and the fitting portions 54 are respectively provided in the left and right directions between the left engaging portion 53 and the central engaging portion 53 and between the right engaging portion 53 and the central engaging portion 53.

[0041] Figure 6A This is a cross-sectional view showing the structure of the engaging part 53 (along...). Figure 5 (Cross view of line AA) Figure 6B This is a cross-sectional view showing the structure of the fitting portion 54 (along...). Figure 5 (The BB line section view). It should be noted that, in Figure 6A ,6B The images show the states of the instrument panel 1 being engaged with the engagement part 53 and the instrument panel 1 being fitted into the engagement part 54, respectively.

[0042] like Figure 6A As shown, the engaging portion 53 has a forward-protruding convex portion 530 with a generally U-shaped cross-section. A stepped portion 151 with a downward-protruding convex cross-section is provided at the rear end of the instrument panel 1. A claw portion 153 is disposed below the stepped portion 151 via a thin plate-like connecting portion 152 extending in the vertical direction. The claw portion 153 protrudes rearward compared to the rear surface of the connecting portion 152. The claw portion 153 can move forward through the elastic deformation of the connecting portion 152, thereby pressing the rear end of the instrument panel 1 downward, causing the claw portion 153 to move downward toward the convex portion 530 and engage with the engaging portion 53. As a result, upward movement of the instrument panel 1 is prevented. It should be noted that when the claw portion 153 is engaged, the rear end face of the stepped portion 151 abuts against the front surface of the convex portion 530.

[0043] like Figure 6B As shown, the fitting portion 54 has a groove 540 extending in the left-right direction with a predetermined width in the front-rear direction. The groove 540 is positioned above a curved portion 541 formed by bending in the front-rear direction, and the lower part of the groove 540 is blocked by the curved portion 541. A plate portion 154 protrudes downward at the rear end of the instrument panel 1. The plate portion 154 has a thickness approximately equal to the width of the groove 540 in the front-rear direction and extends in the left-right direction corresponding to the groove 540. As a result, the plate portion 154 of the instrument panel 1 can be pressed in from above and fitted into the groove 540 until its lower end face abuts against the curved portion 541. As a result, it is possible to prevent the instrument panel 1 from moving downward. It should be noted that when the plate portion 154 is fitted, the front end face of the plate portion 154 abuts against the rear surface of the fitting portion 54 (curved portion 541).

[0044] Figure 7 , Figure 8 These figures illustrate the installation process of the vehicle-mounted device 100. During installation, the vehicle-mounted device 100 is pre-assembled into... Figure 2 The state shown. Next, as... Figure 7 As shown by the middle arrow, before installing the instrument panel 1, the vehicle-mounted device 100 is secured to the designated position on the vehicle body using bolts (not shown) that pass through the lower bracket 40. Then, as... Figure 8 As indicated by the arrow, insert the rear end of the instrument panel 1 into the upper part of the navigation panel 50 from above. That is, as... Figure 6A It engages with the engagement part 53 of the navigation panel 50 as shown, and as... Figure 6B It is fitted into the fitting part 54 as shown. Thus, the portion of the vehicle-mounted device 100 that is in front of the display 11 is covered by the instrument panel 1.

[0045] The vehicle-mounted device 100 of this embodiment can easily adapt to changes in the size of the display 11. The following description will... Figure 1 An example of changing the display 11A (the first display) to a smaller display 11B (the second display).

[0046] Figure 9 This is a perspective view (viewed from a rear-facing angle) showing the vehicle-mounted device 100 with a smaller display 11B in its installation position in the vehicle. Figure 10 This is a perspective view of the vehicle-mounted device 100 viewed from a slightly forward angle. Figure 9 , Figure 10 In this example, an 8-inch display 11B is used. Therefore, the height and width of the display 11B are smaller than... Figure 1 , 2 The 11-inch monitor 11A is shown. The size of the main body 12 (frame 12a) is approximately fixed and independent of the size of the monitor 11. Figure 2 The main body 12 (first main body part) and Figure 10 The main body 12 (the second main body part) is roughly the same size as each other.

[0047] Figure 11 yes Figure 10 An exploded perspective view of the vehicle-mounted device 100. (See attached image.) Figure 11 As shown, the vehicle-mounted device 100 includes a navigation unit 10, a lower panel 20, an upper bracket 30, a pair of left and right lower brackets 40, a navigation panel 50, a pair of left and right auxiliary covers 60, and a pair of left and right auxiliary brackets 70.

[0048] The lower panel 20, upper bracket 30, lower bracket 40, and navigation panel 50 are... Figure 4 The structure shown is the same. Except for the display 11, the navigation unit 10 is also the same. Figure 4 The navigation unit shown is the same. Therefore, when changing to a navigation unit 10 with a smaller display 11, a sub-cover 60 and a sub-bracket 70 are added. As a result, multiple components such as the lower panel 20 and the navigation panel 50 are common, which can suppress the cost increase when replacing the navigation unit 10.

[0049] The installation diagram of the navigation panel 50 is omitted; the display 11B is located on its back 11b. Figure 3 The same position shown in the figure, having the same shape as Figure 3 The diagram shows multiple bosses 111 of the same shape, each with a threaded hole 112. Therefore, as... Figure 10 As shown, the navigation panel 50 can be mounted on the back 11b of the display 11B by screwing the bolt 14 through the through hole 512 of the bulge 511 into the threaded hole 112.

[0050] Figure 12 This is a perspective view showing the overall structure of the right-side sub-bracket 70 (viewed from a diagonal front). Figure 13 It is shown Figure 12 A perspective view of the sub-bracket 70 in its installed state (viewed from a diagonal front). (See image below.) Figure 12 As shown, the sub-bracket 70 has a generally rectangular rear plate portion 71 extending in the vertical and horizontal directions, and a generally rectangular side plate portion 72 extending forward from the inner left end (left end) of the rear plate portion 71 in the horizontal direction. The rear plate portion 71 is elongated in the vertical direction and extends upward and downward compared to the side plate portion 72. It should be noted that the sub-bracket 70 is formed, for example, by bending metal.

[0051] A pair of through holes 71a are provided through the rear plate portion 71. A single through hole 72a is provided through the side plate portion 72. Figure 13 As shown, the side plate 72 is mounted to the outer side (right side) of the vertical plate 32 of the upper bracket 30 in the left-right direction by means of bolts (not shown) through the through hole 72a.

[0052] Figure 14 This is a perspective view showing the configuration of the sub-bracket 70 in the vehicle-mounted device 100. It should be noted that... Figure 14 The image shows the state of the secondary cover 60 before installation. Figure 14 As shown, the rear panel 71 is located above the base 21 of the lower panel 20 and in front of the front wall 22, and is located on the outer side of the display 11 in the left-right direction. More specifically, the rear panel 71 is configured to contact the rear surface of the front wall 22 on the side of the display 11. A pair of through holes 22a are provided on the front wall 22 at positions corresponding to the pair of through holes 71a of the rear panel 71.

[0053] Figure 15 This is a perspective view (viewed from a diagonal front) showing the overall structure of the right-side sub-cover 60. (See diagram.) Figure 15 As shown, the sub-cover 60 has a roughly L-shaped cross-section and is elongated in the vertical direction. More specifically, the sub-cover 60 has a rear plate portion 61 and a side plate portion 62 extending forward from the outer left-right end (right end) of the rear plate portion 61. The right edge of the rear plate portion 61 is generally arc-shaped and oriented upwards towards the inner left-right direction, while the side plate portion 62 is curved and oriented upwards towards the inner left-right direction.

[0054] On the front surface of the rear plate 61, in the through hole 71a corresponding to the sub-bracket 70 ( Figure 14A pair of nuts 63 are provided at the position of the sub-cover 60. Except for the nuts 63, the sub-cover 60 is made of resin material, and the nuts 63 are integrally molded onto the sub-cover 60. The front end face of the nuts 63 and the front end face of the side plate 62 are located on approximately the same plane in the front-rear direction.

[0055] Figure 16 This is a perspective view (viewed from a rear-facing angle) of the vehicle-mounted device 100 showing the installation state of the sub-cover 60. Figure 17 yes Figure 16 Sectional view of the main part (along) Figure 14 (Cross-sectional view along line AA). For example... Figure 17 As shown, behind the rear plate portion 71 of the sub-bracket 70, the sub-cover 60 is positioned such that the front end face of the nut 63 contacts the rear surface of the rear plate portion 71. The bolt 17 is inserted from the front of the front wall 22 of the lower panel 20, passing through the through hole 22a of the front wall 22 and the through hole 71a of the rear plate portion 71 of the sub-bracket 70, and is screwed onto the nut 63. Thus, the sub-cover 60 is fixed to the front wall 22 of the lower panel 20 by means of the sub-bracket 70.

[0056] like Figure 16 As shown, with the sub-cover 60 installed, the gap on the side of the display 11 is covered by the sub-cover 60. This improves the aesthetics of the vehicle-mounted device 100. Specifically, when the display 11 is made small, there is a possibility that components on the back of the display 11, such as the main body 12, may be seen by a user inside the vehicle from the side of the display 11 through the gap between it and the navigation panel 50, and the gap between it and the front wall 22 of the lower panel 20. The sub-cover 60 prevents these components from being seen through these gaps.

[0057] The upper end of the sub-cover 60 is fixed to the lower panel 20 in a state of contact with, for example, the side wall portion 52 of the navigation panel 50 within a specified length range. Figure 10 This prevents the navigation panel 50 and the sub-cover 60 from contacting each other due to vibration and making noise. It should be noted that a locking part that engages with the navigation panel 50 can also be provided on the upper part of the sub-cover 60 to fix the sub-cover 60 in a locked state with the navigation panel 50.

[0058] According to this embodiment, the following effects can be achieved.

[0059] (1) The vehicle-mounted device 100 includes: a navigation unit 10, which integrally has a display 11 that extends in the width and height directions and is generally rectangular in shape when viewed from the front, and a main body 12 disposed on the back 11b of the display 11; and a navigation panel 50, which is sandwiched between the navigation unit 10 and the rear end of the instrument panel 1. Figure 2 , Figure 10The display 11 has a boss 111 with a threaded hole 112 on its back surface 11b, which is located above the main body 12. Figure 3 The navigation panel 50 has a generally plate-shaped base 51 that extends along the back surface 11b of the display 11 and is shorter in width (length in the left-right direction) than the display 11. Figure 5 The base 51 has: a protruding portion 511 having a through hole 512 corresponding to the boss 111 for mounting the navigation panel 50 to the boss 111 of the display 11; and a engaging portion 53 and a fitting portion 54 supporting the rear end of the instrument panel 1. Figure 5 ).

[0060] Therefore, regardless of the size of the display 11, the navigation panel 50 can be universal, the increase in the number of parts associated with changes in the size of the display 11 can be suppressed, and cost increases can be prevented. That is, when the size of the display 11 changes, the same navigation panel 50 can be used only by providing the boss 111 at the same position on the back 11b of the large display 11A and the back 11b of the small display 11B.

[0061] (2) The vehicle-mounted device 100 also includes a bolt (self-tapping screw) 14, which passes through the through hole 512 of the protrusion 511 and engages with the threaded hole 112 of the boss 111 to fix the navigation panel 50 to the back 11b of the display 11. Figure 2 , Figure 10 Therefore, the navigation panel 50 can be securely fixed to the display 11 with a simple structure.

[0062] (3) The navigation panel 50 also has sidewall portions 52 extending at both ends of the base 51 in the width direction to cover the sides of the main body 12. Figure 2 , 5 (10). This prevents the main body 12 from being seen by the occupants inside the vehicle, thus improving the aesthetics of the vehicle-mounted device 100.

[0063] (4) The vehicle-mounted device 100 also includes a sub-cover 60, which extends in the height direction to cover the sides of the main body 12 of the navigation unit 10 and the side wall portion 52 of the navigation panel 50, and is disposed on the outside of the main body 12 and the side wall portion 52 in the width direction. Figure 10 Therefore, when changing from a large display 11A to a small display 11B, it is possible to prevent the components (such as the main body 12) on the back side of the display 11 from being seen through the gap on the back side of the display 11, resulting in better aesthetics.

[0064] (5) The vehicle-mounted device 100 also has a sub-bracket 70 installed on the main body 12 and protruding outward in the width direction. Figure 13The sub-cover 60 is supported on the sub-bracket 70 in a state of abutting against the side of the navigation panel 50. Figure 14 , Figure 16 Therefore, the sub-cover 60 can be firmly supported, and the sub-cover 60 can be prevented from contacting the navigation panel 50 due to vibration and making noise.

[0065] (6) The fitting portion 54 of the base 51 of the navigation panel 50 is formed in a generally concave shape so as to fit into the plate portion 154 at the end of the instrument panel 1. Figure 5 , Figure 6B This prevents the instrument panel 1 from drooping and maintains the aesthetic appearance of the connection between the instrument panel 1 and the navigation panel 50 for a long time.

[0066] This embodiment can be modified in various ways. Several modifications are described below. In the above embodiment, a navigation panel 50 having a base 51 and a sidewall 52 is sandwiched between the navigation unit 10 and the rear end of the instrument panel 1, but the configuration of the cover component is not limited to this. In the above embodiment, a boss 111 with a threaded hole 112 is provided on the back 11b of the display 11, which is a first mounting part for mounting the base of the cover component, but the configuration of the first mounting part is not limited to the above description.

[0067] In the above embodiment, the bulge 511 of the navigation panel 50, i.e., the bulge 511 with the through hole 512, is mounted on the boss 111 on the back surface 11b of the display 11, but the configuration of the first mounting portion and the corresponding second mounting portion is not limited to the above description. In the above embodiment, the end of the instrument panel 1 is fitted from above with the fitting portion 54, which is formed in a generally concave shape on the upper part of the base 51, but the configuration of the support portion is not limited to this. For example, the end of the instrument panel 1 can be fitted from front to rear.

[0068] In the above embodiment, a bolt 14 passing through a through hole 512 of the navigation panel 50 corresponding to a threaded hole 112 is screwed into a threaded hole 112 on the back surface 11b of the display 11, thereby fixing the navigation panel 50 to the back surface 11b of the display 11. However, the configuration of the fastening component is not limited to this. In the above embodiment, a sub-cover 60 is disposed on the outer side of the side wall portion 52 of the navigation panel 50 in the width direction. However, the outer cover component can be arbitrarily configured, as long as it extends in the height direction to cover the main body portion of the display unit and the side surface of the side wall portion of the cover component. In the above embodiment, the sub-cover 60 is supported by a sub-bracket 70 mounted on the main body 12. However, the configuration of the bracket mounted on the main body and protruding outward in the width direction is not limited to the above description.

[0069] In the above embodiment, a navigation unit 10 that integrally includes a display 11 and a main body 12 (main body portion) disposed on the back surface 11b of the display 11 is applied to the vehicle-mounted device 100. However, other display units that integrally include a display and a main body portion can also be applied to the vehicle-mounted device. That is, the display unit to which the present invention is applied is not limited to a navigation unit.

[0070] The above embodiments can be arbitrarily combined with one or more variations, and the variations can also be combined with each other.

[0071] According to the present invention, when the size of the display is changed, there is no need to change the cover component, thus suppressing cost increases.

[0072] The present invention has been described above based on preferred embodiments, but those skilled in the art should understand that various modifications and changes can be made without departing from the scope of the claims.
