Description

Technical Field

[0001] The invention relates to a range fumes extraction device with a smoke guide plate and a lighting device. Background Art

[0002] For extractor hoods mounted above cooktops, it is known to arrange a light source on the underside of the extractor hood near the suction device for illuminating the cooktop. In addition, for so-called underdraft systems, which are mounted in a worktop and in which the extractor housing projects upwards beyond the worktop on which the cooktop is mounted, it is known to provide a light source at the upper end of the extractor housing. The cooktop is illuminated by the light source, which is mounted, for example, at a height of mostly between 20 and 40 cm.

[0003] A disadvantage of this type of lighting is that, on the one hand, the light source is directly visible to the user and, on the other hand, is exposed to steam and smoke rising from the cooktop. Summary of the invention

[0004] The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a solution with which a cooktop or a working surface of a cooker hood arrangement can be illuminated with a simple design of the cooker hood arrangement and which simultaneously eliminates the disadvantages of the prior art.

[0005] The invention is based on the finding that this object can be achieved by providing indirect lighting with the aid of a part of the range hood arrangement which, in addition to lighting, performs other functions.

[0006] According to the invention, the object is therefore achieved by a range hood device having at least one smoke guide plate and at least one lighting device including at least one light source. The range hood device is characterized in that the smoke guide plate represents a light conductor, the lighting device faces the smoke guide plate and a reflective surface is formed on at least one portion of the edge of the smoke guide plate facing away from the lighting device.

[0007] A range hood device is a device for purifying polluted air, in particular steam and smoke, generated during cooking. The range hood device has at least one smoke guide plate. A smoke guide plate is a planar element that guides the air sucked in by a blower inside the range hood device to the intake port of the range hood device. A plurality of smoke guide plates can also be provided on the range hood device. In particular, a smoke guide plate can be arranged in front of the intake port and a smoke guide plate can be arranged behind the intake port at the intake port in order to form a conveying channel in front of the intake port in the direction of flow. A filter element can be provided inside the range hood device or in the intake port. The polluted air is preferably extracted downwards through the intake port.

[0008] According to the invention, the at least one smoke guide plate represents a light guide. In particular, the smoke guide plate is made of a material suitable for light conduction. According to one embodiment, the smoke guide plate is made of glass, that is, is formed by a glass sheet. The surface of the glass sheet is preferably polished, so that light introduced into the glass sheet via one of the edges is reflected on the surface and thus further conducted. The smoke guide plate can also be referred to as a passive light guide.

[0009] A lighting device, which can also be referred to as a lighting module or lighting device, is a device by which light is emitted. The lighting device according to the invention has at least one light source. The light source can represent an LED (light emitting diode). The light source can be arranged on a circuit board. In addition, at least the light source can be surrounded by a housing in order to protect it from dirt. The circuit board, on which at least one light source is arranged, can also be accommodated in the housing. The housing is preferably designed to be transparent.

[0010] According to the invention, the lighting device is directed toward the smoke guide plate. In particular, the lighting device is directed toward an edge of the smoke guide plate, in particular the lower edge of the smoke guide plate. "Towards the smoke guide plate" refers to an orientation of the lighting device along which the light emitted by the lighting device can reach the smoke guide plate and in particular the edge of the smoke guide plate directly, that is, without a deflection element. According to one embodiment, the lighting device can thus rest against the edge of the smoke guide plate or be arranged in the immediate vicinity of the smoke guide plate. However, it also lies within the scope of the invention that there is a spacing between the lighting device and the edge of the smoke guide plate to which the lighting device is directed. The edge to which the lighting device is directed is also referred to below as the lower edge or bottom edge of the smoke guide plate. The lighting device is directed toward the smoke guide plate, whereby the light output by the lighting device can be directed into the smoke guide plate.

[0011] Directional specifications such as top and bottom as well as specifications such as width and height, unless otherwise stated, relate to a range hood and its components in the installed state. In particular, these specifications relate to a range hood with at least one vertical smoke guide plate, wherein the range hood is installed in a horizontal worktop behind the cooktop and extends behind the cooktop in the width direction of the cooktop.

[0012] According to the invention, a reflective surface is formed on the edge of the smoke guide plate facing away from the lighting device. The reflective surface can also be called an active surface. The reflective surface is formed on the following edge, which is preferably the upper edge of the smoke guide plate. At least a part of the side edges of the smoke guide plate can also be configured as a reflective surface.

[0013] A reflective surface is constructed on the edge of the smoke guide plate facing away from the lighting device, thereby enabling the light guided by the smoke guide plate to be directed in a specific direction in a targeted manner. Thus, the range hood device according to the present invention can realize indirect lighting for, for example, a stove top or a work board. Since the smoke guide plate must be arranged to guide steam and smoke to the intake port of the range hood device independently of the lighting device, no additional components are required for indirect lighting. Thus, the structure of the range hood device is simplified. In addition, the at least one lighting device can be arranged below the work board, and the light output by the lighting device is guided upwards through the smoke guide plate and output above the work board. Thus, the lighting device and the at least one light source arranged in the lighting device are invisible to the user. In addition, by the possible arrangement of the at least one lighting device below the work board, the lighting device cannot be directly hit by steam and smoke and the lighting device is therefore protected from contamination.

[0014] According to a preferred embodiment, the reflecting surface is at an angle different from 90° relative to the surface of the smoke guide plate. The surface of the smoke guide plate refers to the surfaces of the smoke guide plate that are connected to each other by edges. The smoke guide plate is preferably arranged before or after the intake port behind the cooktop and extends in the width direction of the cooktop. The smoke guide plate preferably also extends in the width direction of the cooktop. Therefore, the surface of the smoke guide plate can be called the front and back. The reflecting surface is inclined toward these surfaces, whereby the light guided upwards in the material of the smoke guide plate and thus between the surfaces is deflected at the upper edge of the smoke guide plate and is especially guided to the work plate or the cooktop in front of the smoke guide plate and illuminates the cooktop. Therefore, the reflecting surface is preferably inclined downward at a certain angle from the front of the smoke guide plate to the back of the smoke guide plate.

[0015] The reflecting surface can represent a flat surface. However, it is also within the scope of the invention and preferred that the reflecting surface has a curvature. In particular, the reflecting surface preferably has a concave curvature. The curvature can be in the width direction of the smoke guide plate. In this case, the fixed center of the curvature radius can be behind the smoke guide plate and above the upper edge of the smoke guide plate. Due to such a curvature of the reflecting surface, the light emitted by the reflecting surface can be output in a fan-shaped manner along the width direction.

[0016] According to a preferred embodiment, the reflecting surface has a concave curvature, and the concave curvature extends along the height direction of the smoke guide plate. This means that the reflecting surface of the smoke guide plate has a concave curvature in a cross section. As a result, the light reflected on the reflecting surface can be fanned out along a vertical direction. As a result, the stove that should be illuminated by the lighting device can be illuminated along the depth direction.

[0017] It is also within the scope of the present invention that the curvature of the concave portion exists not only in the width direction of the reflective surface but also in its height direction. In this embodiment, the light can be emitted from the reflective surface in a fan-shaped manner not only in the vertical direction but also in the horizontal direction.

[0018] In the embodiment of the reflection surface as a concave surface, it is preferably also arranged on the rear side of the smoke guiding plate.

[0019] The reflection surface can be designed as a polished surface. As a result, reflection of the light guided in the smoke guide plate is achieved on the inner side of the reflection surface. The design of the reflection surface as a polished surface has the advantage that the reflection surface is easy to produce and does not require a separate component.

[0020] According to another embodiment, the reflection surface can be formed by a coating of a part of the smoke guide plate. In this case, the reflection surface is preferably formed by an upper edge of the smoke guide plate that is inclined between the front and the back of the smoke guide plate. The coating can be applied to the inclined edge of the smoke guide plate and, if necessary, to the back of the smoke guide plate. For example, metallic coatings, white paint or black paint are possible as coating materials.

[0021] According to another embodiment, the reflective surface is formed by a reflector, which is fixed to the smoke guide plate. In particular, the reflector is fixed to the upper edge of the smoke guide plate facing away from the lighting device. The reflector can be a reflective plate, which represents an L-profile.

[0022] According to the invention, both in an embodiment with a coating and in an embodiment with a reflector, the reflective surface can be provided in addition to the inclination of the edge and / or the curvature of the edge.

[0023] The smoke guide plate is made of a light-conducting material. In particular, the smoke guide plate can be made of glass, Plexiglas or other light-conducting plastics.

[0024] According to one embodiment, an optical element is arranged between the lighting device and the smoke guide plate for introducing light through the edge of the smoke guide plate facing the lighting device. The optical element can represent, for example, a lens or a diffuser plate. The edge of the smoke guide plate facing the lighting device can have a polished or matte, in particular roughened, surface. By providing the optical element, in particular the lens, it can be ensured that light is introduced from the lighting device into the smoke guide plate in a targeted manner.

[0025] According to a preferred embodiment, the range hood device has an intake opening through which air is sucked downwards and the at least one smoke guide plate is arranged adjacent to the intake opening. In this embodiment, the present invention can also be referred to as a table ventilator, a recessed ventilator or a bottom exhaust ventilator. In this embodiment, the design of the smoke guide plate as a light conductor according to the invention can be particularly well utilized. In particular, the smoke guide plate can be used as a design element or as a functional light by introducing light from a lighting device.

[0026] According to one embodiment, two smoke guide plates are provided and the reflective surface is formed only on one of the smoke guide plates and the other smoke guide plate is frosted, in particular roughened, at least on the edge facing away from the lighting device. In this embodiment, one of the smoke guide plates is preferably arranged between the cooktop and the air inlet, and the other smoke guide plate is arranged behind the air inlet. The rear smoke guide plate can have a greater height than the front smoke guide plate in this embodiment. In the embodiment with two smoke guide plates, the rear smoke guide plate preferably has a reflective surface on the upper edge. As a result, the cooktop located in front of the smoke guide plate can be well illuminated due to the generally greater height of the smoke guide plate. On the front smoke guide plate, a reflective surface can also be formed on the upper edge and the cooktop can therefore also be illuminated by this smoke guide plate. However, it is also within the meaning of the invention that the front smoke guide plate is frosted, in particular roughened, on the upper edge. As a result, the light guided upwards by the smoke guide plate can be scattered and emitted from the edge. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0055] The cooktop can be illuminated by the extractor device according to the invention. The illumination is performed by the extractor device installed in the worktop via a reflective surface, which can also be referred to as an optical active surface, on a passive light-conducting element, in particular a smoke guide plate. In addition, the invention can be used to design such an illumination of the cooktop to be as bright and uniform as possible.

[0056] In the present invention, the cooktop is illuminated in a so-called under-exhaust range hood device by directing light into a smoke guide plate designed as a light conductor in an area below the worktop that is not directly visible to the user, and the light is directed out again in the direction of the cooktop on a reflective surface of the light conductor above the cooktop. In this case, the light-conducting edge of the smoke guide plate can be processed as a reflector.

[0057] The precise geometry of the reflecting surface, which can also be referred to as a reflecting element, has been selected so that as much light as possible reaches the cooking surface. In addition, for the user, the dazzling effect is reduced to a minimum.

[0058] Furthermore, it is conceivable to render the optical waveguide as resistant as possible to the accumulation of grease and dirt by means of specific coating methods (lotus effect). This prevents or minimizes the coupling out of stray light at undesired locations.

[0059] One advantage of the invention is that it can be used with pure glass or glass with a coated / masked surface (optionally also with glass-like materials such as Plexiglas or similar materials). Another advantage of the invention is the concealment of the light source.

[0060] When positioned below the worktop, the light source is also protected from influences on the cooktop.

[0061] Another advantage is that the smoke guide plate of the light guide, which is preferably made of glass, can be removed and cleaned or replaced independently of the light source and its power supply. A direct mechanical connection between the lighting device and the smoke guide plate is not necessary.
