Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to an elevator system, in particular to a ropeless elevator system comprising one or more elevator cabins. BACKGROUND

[0002] WO 2018 / 153650 discloses a car arrangement for an elevator system. The car arrangement comprises a car support having at least one horizontal leg and at least one vertical leg, on which at least one horizontal leg the elevator car is disposed, and the horizontal leg is connected to a bearing at least indirectly via the vertical leg. When the elevator car is disposed on the car cradle, the weight of the elevator car, including the payload, is transmitted as a compression force mainly through the car floor. However, such an arrangement requires a large amount of space around the outside of the elevator car within the elevator shaft, thus limiting the size of the elevator car that can be used.

[0003] WO 2018 / 046406 A1, which can be considered as the closest prior art, shows an elevator with a cabin. The cabin is supported on a cradle in a forklift manner. The height of the cabin floor can be raised or lowered to a cabin floor height that matches the floor height of the floor height in the building. This is required due to the load change at the stop of the cabin at the floor during unloading and loading. Due to the forklift-like structure, the amount of space required below the elevator cabin floor is high, which is less advantageous in case the elevator cabin travels in a horizontal shaft. The space below the cabin can be limited in a horizontal shaft compared to a vertical shaft.

[0004] The object of the present invention is to provide an elevator car, in particular wherein the car:

[0005] - is adapted to allow a more efficient use of the space, in particular within a horizontal elevator shaft, and

[0006] - has an improved safety function.

[0007] The object is solved by the subject matter of the main claim; the embodiments are subject matter of the dependent claims and the description. SUMMARY

[0008] The present invention relates to an elevator system, in particular ropeless, having at least one elevator shaft and at least one elevator car. Preferably, the elevator system can comprise a plurality of said elevator cars. The elevator car preferably comprises:

[0009] - an elevator cabin adapted to transport passengers between floors of a building;

[0010] - an elevator support adapted to support the weight of the elevator cabin.

[0011] - at least one further mechanism, wherein the at least one further mechanism is referred to in the following as a carriage. The elevator bracket is adapted to be connected to both the elevator cabin and the carriage.

[0012] The carriage is a mechanism that connects the following two:

[0013] - the elevator bracket and

[0014] - one or more vertically, or vertically and / or horizontally extending rails, which are included in the elevator shaft, so that the elevator cabin can be moved along said rails. In addition to guiding the cabin along the rails, the carriage can advantageously be adapted to include braking elements as well as one or more auxiliary mechanisms, such as a damping system. Further information about the carriage is introduced by way of reference to German patent application DE 10 2019 200 235.8.

[0015] In embodiments of the invention, the elevator car is adapted to switch between the first elevator shaft and at least one further elevator shaft, wherein the car can travel in two directions, in particular in each vertical shaft in upward and downward directions and / or in a horizontal shaft laterally.

[0016] In embodiments, the elevator bracket is included in a suspension system, preferably a backpack suspension system, so that it is positioned parallel to the vertical wall, in particular to the single side of the elevator cabin, preferably to the rear side of the elevator cabin. The rear side can be opposite to the front side of the elevator cabin, where passengers enter and exit. This type of elevator bracket is preferably as aerodynamic as possible with the rear wall of the elevator cabin, thus saving space or even redistributing space within the elevator shaft. This can accommodate, for example:

[0017] - a larger cabin to be used, thus increasing passenger capacity and reducing passenger waiting time, thus improving passenger comfort and satisfaction;

[0018] - a reduction in the space required in the elevator shaft, thus leaving more usable floor space in the building itself, which is attractive to both the owner and the customer. The integration of the cabin and the elevator bracket according to the invention as a system also advantageously provides weight reduction without compromising safety and increases stiffness.

[0019] In embodiments of the invention, the elevator cabin includes a reinforced rear wall and a reinforced floor structure. This advantageously provides the connection of the elevator bracket to the elevator cabin.

[0020] In embodiments of the invention, the elevator bracket includes a plurality of panels intersecting at a point Pi, each panel preferably including a plurality of connection means.

[0021] In embodiments of the invention, the plurality of connection means is adapted to be connected to one or both of:

[0022] - a reinforced rear wall of the elevator cabin;

[0023] - a reinforced floor layer structure of the elevator cabin. This advantageously ensures a single-sided parallel positioning of the elevator support with the elevator cabin. This type of elevator support is preferably as streamlined as possible with the rear wall of the elevator cabin, thus saving space or even redistributing space within the elevator shaft.

[0024] In an embodiment of the invention, the elevator support is adapted to extend at least partially across the height of the elevator cabin, more preferably, across at least two thirds of the height of the elevator cabin. This advantageously provides support for a larger surface area of the cabin, thus improving safety.

[0025] In an embodiment of the invention, the elevator support is adapted to extend substantially across the total height of the elevator cabin. This advantageously provides support for a larger surface area of the cabin, thus improving safety.

[0026] In an embodiment of the invention, the elevator support further comprises a support housing located around the intersection point Pi, wherein the support housing comprises a plurality of working elements adapted to facilitate the travel of the elevator car along the direction of travel comprising one or more vertically or vertically and / or horizontally extending rails within the elevator shaft.

[0027] In an embodiment of the invention, the elevator system comprises one or more auxiliary mechanisms, which advantageously provide for allowing the cabin to move relative to the carriage and shaft in order to compensate for, for example:

[0028] - any structural tolerances;

[0029] - installation errors;

[0030] - movement of the building due to temperature or wind;

[0031] - settlement;

[0032] - natural environmental factors, such as vegetation growth, proximity to flood levels;

[0033] - man-made environmental changes, such as other buildings constructed in close proximity, construction or maintenance on underground transport networks. It is advantageous to have an elevator system that is adaptable and able to continue to function in the event of such occurrences.

[0034] In an embodiment of the invention, the one or more auxiliary mechanisms are selected from the group comprising:

[0035] - levelling systems - preferably helping to control the positioning of the sill of the elevator cabin relative to the sill of the landing area;

[0036] - damping systems;

[0037] - a locking system;

[0038] - a braking system.

[0039] Having one or more auxiliary mechanisms is advantageous as it facilitates and improves the moving mass of the elevator system. The one or more auxiliary mechanisms can also advantageously be used as safety mechanisms, while at the same time increasing the comfort of the passengers.

[0040] The levelling system can help to ensure that the door sill of the elevator cabin is at the same height as the door sill of the landing.

[0041] The damping system can help to absorb any adverse effects of an unintended movement of the cabin, thereby preventing passenger discomfort.

[0042] The locking system can for example be used as a support device for the elevator cabin when the elevator cabin stays at each landing area, thereby helping to mitigate the risk of overheating of the drive motor of any elevator car.

[0043] The braking system may, for example, facilitate weight distribution and help to mitigate the weight on the car over a given period of time.

[0044] Any one or a combination of the above auxiliary mechanisms advantageously improves the passenger comfort as well as the operational lifetime of the elevator system. In embodiments of the present invention, the one or more auxiliary mechanisms, preferably the levelling system, comprises a camshaft system.

[0045] In embodiments of the present invention, the one or more auxiliary mechanisms, preferably the damping system and / or the locking system and / or the braking system, comprises a linear actuator device.

[0046] In embodiments of the present invention, the one or more auxiliary mechanisms are comprised in one or more of:

[0047] - an elevator bracket, which is preferably located at the connection device;

[0048] - a support housing;

[0049] - an elevator cabin, which is preferably located at the reinforced rear wall;

[0050] - a reinforced floor;

[0051] - an elevator shaft.

[0052] In embodiments of the present invention, the connection device comprises:

[0053] - a bolt, and / or

[0054] - a load bearing bolt; and / or

[0055] - one or more auxiliary mechanisms;

[0056] - any combination of the above.

[0057] In embodiments of the application, the elevator support comprises a lightweight composite material, wherein the composite material comprises at least one from the group comprising:

[0058] - aluminium;

[0059] - titanium;

[0060] - nickel;

[0061] - tungsten;

[0062] - carbon;

[0063] - magnesium;

[0064] - one or more thermoset or thermoplastic polymers;

[0065] - an alloy comprising one or more of the above.

[0066] In comparison with conventional buckets supporting elevator cabs, the elevator support according to any embodiment of the application is preferably made of lightweight, resilient material, such as aluminium cast and extruded profiles. Thus, the total weight of the elevator cab is reduced, improving its performance and operational life.

[0067] The application also relates to the use of an elevator system according to any of the preceding embodiments in a high-rise building. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0080] Figure 12 Parts of the elevator system of the invention are shown. Several, here exemplarily two, vertical travel tracks 2VL, 2VR are aligned in a first direction z along which the car 5 can be moved between different floors. Between the two vertical travel tracks 2VL, 2VR, a horizontal travel track 2H is arranged in a second direction y along which the car 1 can be moved within one floor each. Furthermore, the horizontal travel track 2H connects the two vertical travel tracks 2VL, 2VR to each other. Thus, the horizontal track 2H is also used for transferring the car 1 between the two vertical tracks 2VL, 2VR. Additional horizontal travel tracks can be provided in the elevator system which connect two vertical travel tracks to each other. Further vertical tracks (not shown) can also be provided.

[0081] Along the tracks, rails 22V, 22H, 22B are provided to guide the car 1. The car 1 has for this purpose not shown guide rollers. The car 1 can be transferred from one track to another track along a transfer unit. In this embodiment, the transfer unit comprises a movable rail 22B.

[0082] The elevator car has a carriage 11 with rollers 13 which provide guidance for the carriage at the rails 22. The carriage 11 has a support bearing 12 to which a support 10 of the car 1 is attached in a rotatable manner. The elevator car 1 has a cabin 100 for accommodating passengers. The support 10 connects the cabin 100 with the carriage of the car 1. During travel, the orientation of the carriage 11 can be changed from a vertical orientation to a horizontal orientation. The orientation of the cabin remains constant at all times. For the purpose of illustration, Figure 12 The carriage 11 shown in Fig. 1 has no attached support and cabin.

[0083] Elevators with such a structure are generally disclosed in DE WO 2015 / 144781 A1, DE 10 2016 211 997 A1 and DE 10 2015 218 025 A1.

[0084] In Figure 1In the middle, the elevator cabin 100 is shown with a reinforced vertical wall 101 (with reinforcement 101 R) and a reinforced floor structure 102. The vertical wall here is the rear wall. The cabin 100 is adapted so that the elevator support 10 (not shown) according to embodiments of the present application can be attached to the cabin 100. In Figures 2 to Figure 8 The elevator support 10 is described in more detail in the middle.

[0085] The support 10 is connected to the cabin 100 at a lower region 101 L of the vertical wall 101 and at an upper region 101 U of the vertical wall. In particular, this connection is not made directly between the wall and the support itself. Less space is required below the elevator floor compared to prior art solutions.

[0086] Figure 2 shows an elevator support 10 according to a first embodiment of the present application. The elevator support 10 comprises two elongated panels 20 which intersect in their respective centres at a point P i surrounding the intersection point P i is a support housing 30 which comprises a plurality of working elements 31, such as locking means between a carriage (not shown) and the support 10. The plurality of working elements 31 are adapted to facilitate the direction of travel of the elevator car 1 along one or more vertically extending rails. These working elements 31 also provide, for example, a turning function which enables the elevator cabin (e.g. the elevator cabin 100) to switch between elevator shafts, thus travelling in both vertical and horizontal directions. The support housing 30 can also optionally be used as a connection point between the elevator cabin 100 and the support 10, although it is not shown in this particular example. Further information on how the elevator cabin moves between elevator shafts can be found in the patent EP 3122680 B1 of the present applicant.

[0087] The support 10 comprises a connection device 201 at the end of each panel 20, which is shown more clearly in Figure 3. The elevator cabin 100 is connected to the support 10 at each connection device 201. The connection device 201 is adapted to be attached to the reinforced wall 101 and / or the reinforced floor structure 102 of the elevator cabin 100 in the lower region 101 L of the rear wall 101, respectively. This is shown more clearly in Figure 6 the middle.

[0088] An exploded view of the connection means 201 is shown in Fig. 3. Each connection means 201 comprises a first connection element 201a and a second connection element 201b. Examples of the first connection element 201a include one or more of a screw, a nut and a bolt, but can also be any suitable connection element. The first connection element 201a is attached to the cabin 100 and the second connection element 201b is attached to the support 10 and / or the panel 20 of the support. In particular, the connection elements allow a vertical relative movement of the second connection element 201b with respect to the first connection element 201a, so that the vertical orientation of the cabin with respect to the support (and thus with respect to the cabin floor) can be adjusted. The connection means 201 can be linear bearings supporting vertical movement. For example, the connection elements 201a, 201b can be vertically oriented bolts, at least partially surrounded by the respective other connection element.

[0089] The cabin 100 is held in a cantilever-like manner with respect to the support, resulting in horizontal and vertical forces Fh, Fv. The main function of the connection means 201 in the upper region 101U and the lower region 101L is to transfer at least these horizontal forces Fh from the cabin to the support 10. Cantilever-like means that the support is not located below the center of gravity of the cabin, so that the cabin weight cannot be transferred by vertical forces only and also not by bending stresses.

[0090] The elevator support 10 optionally comprises one or more auxiliary mechanisms to facilitate and improve the moving mass of the elevator cabin 100. For example, a damping system can be introduced, wherein the system comprises a spring or a pneumatic or hydraulic mechanism. A levelling system can also be introduced, whereby the elevator cabin 100 can be turned or tilted by any angle to ensure that the door sill of the elevator cabin and the door sill at the landing side are at the same height. This is further described in detail in Figs. 4, 5, Figure 7 and Figure 8 .

[0091] Fig. 4 shows a support 10 according to a second embodiment of the present application. As in the previously described embodiments, the support 10 comprises two elongated panels 20, which intersect in their respective centers at a point P i surrounding the intersection point P i is a support housing 30, which comprises a plurality of working elements 31, such as a locking device between the carriage (not shown) and the support. The plurality of working elements 31 are adapted to facilitate the direction of travel of the elevator car 1 along one or more vertically extending rails. These working elements 31 also provide, for example, a turning function, which enables the elevator cabin (e.g. the elevator cabin 100) to switch between elevator shafts, thus travelling in both vertical and horizontal directions.

[0092] A connection means 201 is included at the bottom end of each intersecting panel 20. The connection means 201 provides a rotational axis 2021 and preferably comprises a bolt or load measuring bolt or other similar means. The support housing 30 comprises a connection means 203. The connection means 203 provides an intermediate fixing means 2031 and preferably comprises a bolt or other similar means and a long curved hole to facilitate rotation.

[0093] In this particular example, at the top of the intersecting panel 20 of the x-carriage, the connection means 202 is adapted to comprise an auxiliary mechanism 40, wherein said mechanism 40 is a camshaft system 40. The camshaft system 40 functions as a levelling system whereby the elevator cabin 100 can be tilted at any angle to ensure that the cabin side door sill is at the same height as the landing side door sill. The camshaft system 40 comprises a motor 41 for the rotation of the camshaft. The camshaft system 40 is fixed to the reinforced rear wall 101 of the elevator cabin 100, allowing the cabin 100 to be tilted as indicated by arrow A in figure 4a.

[0094] Figure 5 shows an elevator carriage 10 according to a third embodiment of the present application. As in the previously described embodiments, the carriage 10 comprises two elongated panels 20 which intersect at their respective centres at a point P i surrounding the intersection point P i is a support housing 30 which comprises a plurality of working elements 31, such as locking means between the carriage 10 and a sliding carriage (not shown). The plurality of working elements 31 are adapted to facilitate the direction of travel of the elevator car 1 along one or more vertically extending rails. These working elements 31 also provide, for example, a rotation function which enables the elevator cabin (e.g. the elevator cabin 100) to switch between elevator shafts, thereby travelling in both vertical and horizontal directions.

[0095] The carriage 10 according to the third embodiment comprises a connection means 204 at each end of the intersecting panel 20, wherein said connection means 204 preferably comprises a bolt or load measuring bolt or other similar means. The connection means 204 is connected to the reinforced rear wall 101 of the elevator cabin 100.

[0096] An auxiliary mechanism 50 is provided which is optionally connected to the elevator cabin 100 at the reinforced rear wall 101. The auxiliary mechanism 50 comprises a linear actuator means, such as a linear motor, a hydraulic / pneumatic cylinder. This linear actuator means 50 functions as a damping system to assist in vibration absorption. The linear actuator means 50 can also facilitate cabin levelling.

[0097] Figure 6 、 Figure 7 and Figure 8A schematic drawing showing the appearance of the cradle 10 according to each embodiment of the present invention when attached to the elevator cabin 100 at the reinforced rear wall 101 and the reinforced floor structure 102. In Figure 7 , the structural outline of the cabin 100 is shown. As described in any of the embodiments, at the connection points between the cabin 100 and the cradle 10, optional rubber pads are added to help with vibration absorption.

[0098] Figures 9a to 9c A schematic side view of an auxiliary mechanism 60 located in the elevator shaft 2 is shown. In this particular example, the auxiliary mechanism is a locking system 60, which also facilitates the re-leveling of the elevator cabin 100. The locking system 60 provides the opportunity to transfer the weight and power required for the re-leveling from the cabin 100 side to the shaft 2 side. On the shaft 2 side, considerations such as weight and power are less of an issue. The cabin 100 is mounted to the cradle 10 according to any of the embodiments of the present invention (shown more clearly in Figure 11 . The locking system 60 is attached to the shaft 2, in particular to the shaft wall. In Figure 9a , the locking system 60 is in a resting state. Referring to Figure 10a , Figure 9b A schematic side view of the locking system 60 in operation is shown, when partially extended. The locking system 60 comprises a base body 61 attached to the shaft wall of the shaft 2. Extendable arms 611 are comprised within the base body 61, which extend when the locking system 60 is in operation (see Figure 9b and Figure 9c ). The base body 61 comprises a piston assembly 62, which comprises a set of extendable pistons 621, which also extend when the locking system 60 is in operation (see Figure 9b and Figure 9c ). The piston assembly 62 is rotatably connected to the base body 61 at a point connection 622. The extendable arms 611 and the extendable pistons 621 converge at a crosspiece 63. The crosspiece 63 is rotatable around a connection point 631, which connects the extendable pistons 621 with the crosspiece 63. When the crosspiece 63 contacts the reinforced floor 102 of the cabin 100, the locking system 60 is fully extended, and the cabin 100 can be moved in vertical or horizontal direction as indicated by arrows X, Y in Figure 9c . The operation of the locking system 60 is achieved by a motor or an additional cylinder system (not shown).

[0099] Figure 10b An alternative locking system 60 is shown, in which the base body 61 comprises a set of extendable arms 611 converging to a crosspiece 63. This alternative system 60 operates in the same way as the previously described system 60.

[0100] Figure 11A schematic view of an elevator car 1 is shown, comprising an elevator cabin 100 and an elevator support 10 in an elevator shaft (not shown) with a locking system 60. The locking system 60 is in its fully extended position, with the crosspiece 63 contacting the reinforced floor 102 of the elevator cabin 100 at two rear corners.

[0101] While not included in the figures due to their coloring properties, stress tests performed on an elevator cabin 100 according to an embodiment of the present application connected to a support 10 show significantly reduced element stresses. These results are provided as an appendix to the present application file.
