AI Technical Summary
The electrode wiring of the existing battery is insufficient in impact resistance when facing external impact, and is easy to peel off, resulting in a degradation of battery performance.
A battery is designed, and the coupling part of the electrode tab has a convex arc shape towards the lead-out member. Through this structure, the stress of external impact is gradually propagated from the convex arc part of the coupling part to both ends, thereby reducing stress concentration and improving impact resistance.
It effectively improves the impact resistance of the battery electrode wiring, prevents peeling caused by external impact, and extends the service life of the battery.

[0041] Hereinafter, a battery according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0042] Figure 1 is a perspective view of a battery according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 2 yes Figure 1 An exploded perspective view of a battery is shown in FIG. Figure 3 is an example Figure 1 A view of a first side of a battery is shown. Figure 4 It is an example of Figure 1 A perspective view of the stress state on the first connecting part of the battery is shown in FIG. Figure 5 and Figure 6 is a perspective view illustrating a state of stress acting on the first coupling portion in a comparative example. Figure 7 and Figure 8 is an example of when the formation Figure 1 The first coupling portion of the battery shown in FIG. 1 is a view of temporary fixing of the first electrode tab. Fig. 9 is an example Figure 1 A view of a second side of the battery is shown in FIG.
[0043] See also Figures 1 to 3, a battery according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include: a battery cell 10 having a first surface 10a and a second surface 10b opposite to each other along a first axis Z1; and a first electrode tab 30 formed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. The first electrode tab 30 includes: a first coupling member 31 including a first coupling portion 31a coupled to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10; and a first lead-out member 35 extending from the first coupling member 31 along the second axis Z2 to the outside of the battery cell 10 (e.g., to the outside of the periphery of the battery cell 10). The first coupling portion 31a may have a convex arc shape toward (e.g., convex or pointing toward) the first lead-out member 35.
[0044] The first surface 10a and the second surface 10b may be formed to be opposite to each other along the first axis Z1, and the side surface 10c connects the first surface 10a to the second surface 10b (or extends between the two). For example, the battery cell 10 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may have a first surface 10a and a second surface 10b, and the side surface 10c may form a circumferential surface connecting the first surface 10a to the second surface 10b (or extending between the two). In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the first surface 10a and the second surface 10b may have a circular shape. For example, the battery cell 10 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may have a slim shape, wherein the height in the first direction (e.g., the direction of the first axis Z1) is relatively smaller than other dimensions (e.g., the diameter D of the first surface 10a). For example, the battery cell 10 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may have a slim cylindrical shape with a height H less than the diameter D of the first surface 10a. For example, the aspect ratio of the diameter D of the first surface 10a to the height H of the battery cell 10 may be in the range of about 12:5.4 to about 14:5.4. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, when the aspect ratio is less than the minimum value of 12:5.4, the height of the battery cell installation space of the device configured to use the battery cell 10 as a power source needs to be much higher. As a result, the height of the set device may not be reduced below a certain amount. On the contrary, when the aspect ratio is greater than the maximum value of 14:5.4, the aspect ratio of the electrode assembly contained in the battery cell 10 may be excessively increased, and according to the increase in the aspect ratio of the electrode assembly, the energy efficiency relative to the same volume may be reduced, or when an electrode assembly with a corresponding high aspect ratio is formed, excessive manufacturing costs may result. Accordingly, in one embodiment of the present disclosure, the aspect ratio of the battery cell 10, that is, the aspect ratio of the diameter D of the first surface 10a to the height H can be in the range of about 12:5.4 to about 14:5.4.
[0045] See also Figure 2, the first electrode 11 and the second electrode 12 of the battery cell 10 with opposite polarities may be formed on the first surface 10a and the second surface 10b, respectively. For example, the first electrode 11 may be formed at the middle position of the first surface 10a, and the second electrode 12 may be formed from the entire second surface 10b to the side surface 10c and may extend from the side surface 10c to a peripheral position surrounding the middle position of the first surface 10a (e.g., extending around the middle position). In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the middle position of the first surface 10a may refer to a position that includes the central portion of the first surface 10a or the centrifugal portion of the first surface 10a having a circular shape. In addition, the peripheral position of the first surface 10a may refer to a position that deviates from the central portion of the first surface 10a or the centrifugal portion of the first surface 10a having a circular shape. The first electrode 11 and the second electrode 12 may be formed at different positions on the first surface 10a. For example, the first electrode 11 may be formed at the middle position of the first surface 10a, and the second electrode 12 may be formed at the peripheral position of the first surface 10a. In such an embodiment, the first electrode 11 and the second electrode 12 may be spatially spaced apart from each other on the first surface 10 a and / or may have an insulating member therebetween, and thus may be electrically insulated from each other.
[0046] The insulating cover 20 may cover a portion of the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10, and the insulating cover 20 may allow the electrical connection of the first electrode 11 to be exposed through its central opening, and may provide electrical insulation for the second electrode 12 formed around the first electrode 11. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the electrical connection of the first electrode 11 may be made through the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10, and the electrical connection of the second electrode 12 may be made through the second surface 10b of the battery cell 10. In such an embodiment, in addition to the first electrode 11 being electrically connected through the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10, the second electrode 12 may not be exposed through the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. The insulating cover 20 may cover a portion of the first surface 10a (e.g., a peripheral portion thereof) so that the second electrode 12 formed at a peripheral position of the first surface 10a is not exposed at the first surface 10a.
[0047] See also Figure 3, the first electrode tab 30 electrically connected to the first electrode 11 may be formed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. The first electrode tab 30 may be coupled to the middle position of the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 to be electrically connected to the first electrode 11. For example, the first electrode tab 30 may include a first connector 31 coupled to the first electrode 11 and a first lead-out member 35 extending forward from the first connector 31 along the second axis Z2. The second axis Z2 may refer to a direction intersecting (or crossing) the first axis Z1, and may include a direction along the second axis Z2 and an opposite direction opposite to the one direction. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the second axis Z2 may refer to a direction perpendicular to the first axis Z1. As described below, the third axis Z3 may refer to a direction intersecting (or crossing) the first axis Z1 and the second axis Z2. For example, the third axis Z3 may refer to a direction perpendicular to the first axis Z1 and the second axis Z2.
[0048] The first lead-out member 35 may form a charge / discharge path of the battery cell 10 while extending along the second axis Z2. For example, the first lead-out member 35 may form a charge / discharge path toward the outside of the battery cell 10 while extending to the outside of the battery cell 10 along the second axis Z2, and may extend beyond the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 along the second axis Z2 at the outside of the battery cell 10.
[0049] The first coupling member 31 may form an electrical connection with the battery cell 10 and may be coupled to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. The first coupling member 31 may be formed on the first surface 10a and may be completely disposed on the first surface 10a without deviating from the first surface 10a (e.g., not extending beyond the perimeter of the first surface 10a or not extending outside the perimeter of the first surface 10a).
[0050] See also Figure 3 and Figure 4 , the first coupling member 31 may include a first coupling portion 31a formed along an arc. The first coupling portion 31a may include (or may be) a welding line formed by laser welding and / or may include a welding line having an arc. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the first coupling portion 31a for forming a connection between the first coupling member 31 and the first surface 10a may have an arc, and in one embodiment, may have a convex arc toward (e.g., convex toward or pointing to) the first lead-out member 35. In such an embodiment, the first coupling portion 31a having an arc may mean that the first coupling portion 31a does not have a closed shape like a circle, but has an open arc.
[0051] In this way, the first coupling portion 31a having an arc shape can increase the bonding strength of the first coupling portion 31a in response to (or resistance to) an external impact acting through the first lead-out member 35 extending to the outside of the battery cell 10. For example, an external impact that tends to lift the first electrode tab 30 including the first lead-out member 35 from the first surface 10a can act on the first lead-out member 35 extending to the outside of the battery cell 10, and may cause the first electrode tab 30 to peel off from the first surface 10a. The first coupling portion 31a having a convex arc shape toward the first lead-out member 35 can provide effective resistance to the first electrode tab 30 peeling off from the first surface 10a, and can improve the impact resistance of the first electrode tab 30.
[0052] The first coupling portion 31a having a convex arc shape toward the first lead-out member 35 can reduce or prevent stress concentration at any position of the first coupling portion 31a, and at the same time, in response to an external impact that tends to lift the first electrode terminal 30 from the first surface 10a, the stress from the external impact, for example, is gradually propagated from the convex curved portion 31c of the first coupling portion 31a closest to the first lead-out member 35 to the two ends of the first coupling portion 31a farthest from the first lead-out member 35. Accordingly, the breakage of the first coupling portion 31a or the peeling depending thereon due to the stress concentration can be alleviated or prevented. For example, in one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first coupling portion 31a having an arc shape can easily propagate stress in two directions along the third axis Z3 in response to an external impact that tends to peel off the first electrode terminal 30. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, since the first connecting portion 31a has a convex arc shape toward the first lead-out piece 35, the external impact acting through the first lead-out piece 35 can first act on the bent portion 31c adjacent to the first lead-out piece 35, and stress propagation can occur uniformly in two directions of the first connecting portion 31a along the third axis Z3 from the bent portion 31c of the first connecting portion 31a, and the stress propagation can occur toward both ends of the first connecting portion 31a.
[0053] In the embodiment to be compared with the present disclosure Figure 5In the comparative example shown in , the first coupling portion 31a' may have a concave shape toward the first lead-out member 35. In this case, an external impact acting through the first lead-out member 35 may cause peeling that tends to lift the first electrode tab 30' from the first surface 10a, and the external impact may be concentrated on the two ends 31c' of the first coupling portion 31a' adjacent to the first lead-out member 35. In this case, stress propagation may occur in either direction along the third axis Z3 from the two ends 31c' of the first coupling portion 31a' adjacent to the first lead-out member 35, but stress propagation may not occur uniformly in both directions along the third axis Z3. For example, the external impact may be concentrated on either end of the two ends 31c' adjacent to the first lead-out member 35. In this case, stress propagation may occur in only one direction along the third axis Z3 from one end of the first coupling portion 31a', and may not occur in both directions along the third axis Z3. Since the external impact may act randomly, the external impact may not act symmetrically about the first lead-out member 35 along the third axis Z3, and may be accompanied by distortion biased toward any one of the ends 31c' of the first coupling portion 31a' along the third axis Z3.
[0054] In this case, at one end of the first coupling portion 31a' subjected to a relatively strong external impact, stress propagation may not occur in two directions along the third axis Z3, but may occur only in one direction along the third axis Z3. Figure 4 In the embodiment of the present disclosure shown in , even in the face of an asymmetrically acting external impact, such as an external impact accompanied by twisting, stress propagation can occur in two directions along the third axis Z3 from the bent portion 31c of the first coupling portion 31a closest to the first lead-out member 35, and stress propagation can occur uniformly in two directions along the third axis Z3. Figure 5 , reference numeral 31 ′ denotes a first coupling member 31 ′ in which a first coupling portion 31 a ′ is formed.
[0055] In the embodiment to be compared with the present disclosure Figure 6 In another comparative example shown in FIG. 1 , the first coupling portion 31a′′ of the first coupling member 31′′ of the first electrode terminal 30′′ may be formed to have a closed circular (eg, circle) shape. The first coupling portion 31a′′ having a closed circular shape (eg, circle) Figure 6 The comparative example shown in FIG. 1 is larger than the first coupling portion 31a having an open arc shape ( Figure 1-Figure 4) is longer than the first coupling portion 31a, and therefore, can have a higher bonding strength than the first coupling portion 31a. In this case, when the length of the first coupling portion 31a`` increases, its bonding strength can be increased, but the manufacturing cost for forming the first coupling portion 31a`` will increase. Figure 6 The comparative example shown in FIG. 1 includes a first coupling portion 31a having a closed circular shape and Figure 4 In the embodiment of the present disclosure shown in FIG. 1 including a first connection portion 31a having an open arc shape, when comparing the bonding strengths of the first connection portion 31a`` and the first connection portion 31a having the same length, the first connection portion 31a having an open arc shape can have a relatively high bonding strength. For example, when the first connection portion 31a`` having a certain length is formed to have a closed circular shape, its width along the third axis Z3 decreases, but, conversely, when the first connection portion 31a having a certain length is formed into an open arc shape, its width along the third axis Z3 increases. An external impact acting from the first lead-out member 35 extending to the outside of the battery cell 10 may be accompanied by distortion, and for an external impact accompanied by distortion in this manner, the first connection portion 31a having an open arc shape and having a relatively large width along the third axis Z3 can have a higher bonding strength than the first connection portion 31a`` of the comparative example. In addition, as Figure 6 As in the comparative example shown in , in the first connecting portion 31a`` having a closed circular shape, a relatively high stress is applied to the semicircular portion 31a1`` facing the first lead-out member 35, but a relatively low stress is applied to the semicircular portion 31a2`` opposite thereto. Since the first connecting portion 31a`` having a closed circular shape is formed to have a uniform bonding strength along the first connecting portion 31a`` regardless of its orientation with respect to the first lead-out member 35, the semicircular portion 31a2`` overlapping with the semicircular portion 31a1`` facing the first lead-out member 35 in the propagation direction of the stress caused by the external impact may have only a slight contribution to the bonding strength relative to the manufacturing cost. In other words, the improvement in bonding strength may be small relative to the cost. Figure 6 In the figure, reference numeral 31c`` may represent Figure 4 The portion corresponding to the bent portion 31c in FIG.
[0056] exist Figure 4In the embodiment of the present disclosure shown in , the first coupling portion 31a may be formed to have an arc shape, and its width along the third axis Z3 may be at least greater than the width of the first lead-out member 35. For example, the width of the first coupling member 31 formed with the first coupling portion 31a may be at least greater than the width of the first lead-out member 35. As described below, the first electrode tab 30 may include the first coupling member 31 and the first lead-out member 35 and the first anti-rotation member 33 formed on both sides (e.g., opposite sides) of the first coupling member 31 along the second axis Z2. The width of the first coupling member 31 along the third axis Z3 may be formed to be greater than the width of the first lead-out member 35 and the width of the first anti-rotation member 33. When the width of the first coupling portion 31a along the third axis Z3 is equal to or less than the width of the first lead-out member 35, an external impact transmitted through the first lead-out member 35, such as an external impact accompanied by twisting, may strongly act on the positions of both ends of the first coupling portion 31a along the third axis Z3. In this case, an external impact relatively concentrated on one end position may not propagate (or may not substantially propagate) in both directions along the third axis Z3 from the one end position of the first coupling portion 31 a.
[0057] In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the first electrode terminal tab 30 may further include a first fixing member 32 extending from the first connecting member 31 along the third axis Z3. Figure 3 , the first fixing member 32 may be formed on both sides (e.g., opposite sides) of the first connecting member 31. The first fixing member 32 may extend from both sides of the first connecting member 31 along the third axis Z3, and may be formed as a pair on both sides of the first connecting member 31. When forming a first connecting portion 31a for connecting the first electrode tab 30 to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10, the first fixing member 32 may provide a portion for temporarily fixing the position of the first electrode tab 30. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first connecting portion 31a may be formed by welding between the first connecting member 31 and the battery cell 10. In such an embodiment, the position of the first connecting member 31 may be temporarily fixed relative to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 while welding is performed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 and the first connecting member 31 that overlap each other. For example, see Figure 7 and Figure 8, when welding the first coupling portion 31a, the battery cell 10 may be accommodated in the jig 100 so that the first surface 10a is exposed, the first electrode tab 30 may be placed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 exposed from the jig 100, and the position of the first electrode tab 30 relative to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 may be temporarily fixed by pressing the first fixing member 32 of the first electrode tab 30 against the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. In addition, by performing welding, such as laser welding, on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 and the first electrode tab 30 fixed in place relative to each other in this manner, a first coupling portion 31a for coupling the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 to the first electrode tab 30 may be formed. For example, the first fixing member 32 may provide pressing positions on both sides of the first coupling member 31 so that the position of the first coupling member 31 is fixed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. In addition, by pressing and fixing the first fixing member 32 on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10, the first connecting member 31 between a pair of first fixing members 32 can be fixed in place on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10, and the first connecting portion 31a can be formed by position fixing therebetween (or during position fixing) to firmly connect the first connecting member 31 to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10.
[0058] See also Figure 3 , the first fixing member 32 may be formed as a pair on both sides of the first coupling member 31 along the third axis Z3. As described above, the first fixing member 32 formed as a pair on both sides of the first coupling member 31 may improve the impact resistance of the first electrode terminal 30. For example, through the first lead-out member 35 extending from the first coupling member 31 to the outside of the battery cell 10, an external distortion moment with the first lead-out member 35 as a torque axis may act on the first coupling member 31, and the external distortion moment may be transmitted to the first coupling member 31 along the first lead-out member 35 to deviate the first coupling member 31 from the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. In this case, the first fixing member 32 formed as a pair on both sides of the first coupling member 31 may provide a resistance torque in a direction opposite to the external distortion moment with the first lead-out member 35 as a torque axis. For example, the first fixing member 32 may provide resistance to an external distortion moment, and may improve the impact resistance characteristics of the first electrode terminal 30 against external impacts such as external distortion moments. Therefore, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first fixing member 32 can fix the position of the first connecting member 31 when forming the first connecting portion 31a, and can also improve the impact resistance of the first electrode terminal 30 by providing effective resistance to external impacts (such as external twisting moment).
[0059] The first lead-out member 35 is located in front of the first coupling member 31 (e.g., the front position) along the second axis Z2 and extends to the position outside the battery cell 10, and the first lead-out member 35 can be formed to form the charging and discharging path of the battery cell 10. The first anti-rotation member 33 can be formed at the rear position of the first coupling member 31 along the second axis Z2. For example, the first lead-out member 35 can extend from the first coupling member 31 in one direction of the second axis Z2, and the first anti-rotation member 33 can extend from the first coupling member 31 in a direction opposite to the one direction of the second axis Z2. The first anti-rotation member 33 can be formed together with the first coupling member 31 and the first fixing member 32 (e.g., it can be integrally formed with it) at the rear position of the first electrode terminal 30 along the second axis Z2, that is, the rear position of the first coupling member 31 and the first fixing member 32 on both sides of the first coupling member 31 of the first electrode terminal 30, and can be formed at the rearmost position of the first electrode terminal 30. As described below, the first anti-rotation member 33 and the first fixing member 32 may be formed together along the second axis Z2 at (e.g., may be integrally formed at) a rear position of the first electrode terminal tab 30 opposite to the first lead-out member 35, and may temporarily fix the first electrode terminal tab 30. A position alignment surface A for temporarily fixing the first electrode terminal tab 30 and preventing the first electrode terminal tab 30 from moving may be formed on adjacent side surfaces of the first anti-rotation member 33 extending from the first coupling member 31 along the second axis Z2 and the first fixing member 32 extending from the first coupling member 31 along the third axis Z3. This will be described in more detail later.
[0060] When forming the first connecting portion 31a for connecting the first electrode terminal 30 to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10, the first anti-rotation member 33 can temporarily fix the position of the first electrode terminal 30. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first connecting portion 31a can be formed by welding between the first connecting member 31 and the battery cell 10, and during welding of the first connecting portion 31a (for example, welding on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 and the first connecting member 31 overlapping each other), the position of the first connecting member 31 is temporarily fixed relative to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. More specifically, see Figure 7 and 8, the battery cell 10 may be accommodated in the jig 100 so that the first surface 10a is exposed, and the first electrode tab 30 may be placed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 exposed from the jig 100 for welding the first coupling portion 31a. In addition, since the first electrode tab 30 placed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 and the protrusion 150 protruding from the first surface 101 of the jig 100 adjacent to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 toward the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 are combined with each other, the first electrode tab 30 may be temporarily fixed on the first surface 101 of the jig 100, and the first electrode tab 30 may be temporarily fixed to the battery cell 10 accommodated in the jig 100.
[0061] In one embodiment of the present disclosure, a protrusion 150 on a first surface 101 of a fixture 100 accommodating a battery cell 10 (e.g., formed on the first surface 101) may protrude toward a first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 exposed from the fixture 100, and may temporarily fix the position of the first electrode tab 30 in a state of being combined with a first electrode tab 30 placed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10.
[0062] In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the protrusion 150 of the clamp 100 can be combined with the first anti-rotation member 33 of the first electrode terminal tab 30 (for example, can contact or engage with the first anti-rotation member 33). In some embodiments, a receiving groove 150' can be formed in the protrusion 150 of the clamp 100, and the first anti-rotation member 33 of the first electrode terminal tab 30 is received in the receiving groove 150'. In addition, by fitting the first anti-rotation member 33 in the receiving groove 150' of the protrusion 150, any (or unexpected or unintentional) rotation of the first anti-rotation member 33 in the receiving groove 150' can be prevented. By constraining the first anti-rotation member 33 in the receiving groove 150', the rotational position of the first electrode terminal tab 30 including the first anti-rotation member 33 can be temporarily fixed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10.
[0063] In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the combination between the protrusion 150 of the jig 100 and the first electrode terminal tab 30 may include: the cooperation between the receiving groove 150' of the protrusion 150 and the first anti-rotation member 33 of the first electrode terminal tab 30; and the physical interference formed when the side surface 150a of the protrusion 150 outside the receiving groove 150' contacts the side surface of the first fixing member 32 of the first electrode terminal tab 30. For example, the protrusion 150 and the first electrode terminal tab 30 may be formed (e.g., designed) to be combined with each other (e.g., the protrusion 150 and the first electrode terminal tab 30 may have corresponding or complementary structures). Within the receiving groove 150' formed in the protrusion 150, the receiving groove 150' and the first anti-rotation member 33 may be combined with each other, and outside the receiving groove 150', the side surface 150a of the protrusion 150 and the side surface of the first fixing member 32 may contact each other and form physical interference. In this case, the side surface 150a of the protrusion 150 and the side surface of the first fixing member 32 may contact each other. In the embodiments of the present disclosure, even if the side surface 150a of the protrusion 150 and the side surface of the first fixing member 32 are not in direct contact, that is, they face each other but are sufficiently spaced apart from each other so that the first electrode tab 30 can slightly move before contacting the side surface 150a of the protrusion 150, such movement of the first electrode tab 30 can be prevented and the first electrode tab 30 can be temporarily fixed. Therefore, the physical interference between the protrusion 150 and the first fixing member 32 may refer to direct contact between the protrusion 150 and the first fixing member 32, but may also refer to a structure in which the protrusion 150 and the first fixing member 32 face each other at a distance from each other and do not directly contact each other.
[0064] As described above, the protruding piece 150 of the jig 100 and the first electrode terminal tab 30 may be formed to be combined with each other. The components of the first electrode terminal tab 30 to be combined with the protruding piece 150 of the jig 100 (e.g., the first anti-rotation piece 33 and the first fixing piece 32) may be formed at a position adjacent to the first coupling piece 31, and may be formed together along the second axis Z2 at a rear position of the first electrode terminal tab 30 where the first coupling piece 31 is formed, rather than at a front position of the first electrode terminal tab 30 where the first lead-out piece 35 is formed.
[0065] In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the first anti-rotation member 33 and the first fixing member 32 may be combined with (e.g., may be accommodated in) the protrusion 150 of the jig 100 at a rear position of the first electrode tab 30. In such an embodiment, when the protrusion 150 of the jig 100 contacts the position alignment surface A formed on the adjacent side surfaces of the first anti-rotation member 33 extending from the first coupling member 31 along the second axis Z2 and the first fixing member 32 extending from the first coupling member 31 along the third axis Z3, the combination with the protrusion 150 of the jig 100 may occur. For example, the adjacent side surfaces of the first anti-rotation member 33 and the first fixing member 32 may form the position alignment surface A. The position alignment surface A at the first anti-rotation member 33 may form a physical interference with the accommodation groove 150' formed in the protrusion 150 of the jig 100, and the position alignment surface A at the first fixing member 32 may form a physical interference with the side surface 150a of the protrusion 150 of the jig 100. In this example, the physical interference of the first anti-rotation member 33 and the first fixing member 32 may refer to direct physical contact with the protrusion 150 of the clamp 100, or may refer to a structure in which the first anti-rotation member 33 and the first fixing member 32 face the protrusion 150 of the clamp 100 with a gap therebetween and do not directly contact the protrusion 150 of the clamp 100.
[0066] See also Figure 3 , the first anti-rotation member 33 may temporarily fix the position of the first electrode tab 30 when forming the first coupling portion 31a for coupling the first electrode tab 30 to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10, and may provide resistance to an external impact that tends to lift the first electrode tab 30 from the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 even after the first coupling portion 31a is formed. For example, in one embodiment of the present disclosure, an external impact that may cause the first electrode tab 30 to peel off by lifting the first electrode tab 30 from the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 may act on the first lead-out member 35 extending beyond the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10, and the first anti-rotation member 33 may provide reverse (or reverse) resistance to the external impact. For example, the first anti-rotation member 33 may be formed at a rear position opposite to the front position of the first lead-out member 35 extending to the outside of the battery cell 10 along the second axis Z2, and may be formed at a position opposite to the first lead-out member 35 with respect to the first coupling member 31, so as to provide resistance in the opposite direction to offset the external impact acting on the first lead-out member 35.
[0067] As described above, the first electrode tab 30 arranged on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 may include: a first lead-out member 35 extending from the first coupling member 31 coupled to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 to the outside of the battery cell 10 along one direction of the second axis Z2; a first fixing member 32 formed on both sides of the first coupling member 31; and a first anti-rotation member 33 extending from the first coupling member 31 in a direction opposite to the one direction of the second axis Z2. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, in the first electrode tab 30, the first lead-out member 35, the first coupling member 31, and the first anti-rotation member 33 may be formed on a line along the second axis Z2. In such an embodiment, the width of the first coupling member 31 along the third axis Z3 may be greater than the width of the first lead-out member 35 and the width of the first anti-rotation member 33. For example, in one embodiment of the present disclosure, the width of the first coupling member 31 may refer to the width of the region where the first coupling portion 31a is formed along the third axis Z3, and the width of the first fixing member 32 may refer to the width extending from the first coupling member 31 along the third direction Z3. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the width of the first anti-rotation member 33 may be equal to the width of the first lead-out member 35 along the third direction Z3. For example, the first connecting portion 31a may be formed on the first connecting member 31, and the width of the first connecting portion 31a along the third axis Z3 may be greater than the width of the first lead-out member 35 and the width of the first anti-rotation member 33, and thus, the impact resistance to external impact accompanied by distortion may be improved. In addition, the width of the first lead-out member 35 and the width of the first anti-rotation member 33 along the third axis Z3 may be equal to each other.
[0068] The first lead-out member 35 and the first anti-rotation member 33 may be formed at the front position and the rear position of the first coupling member 31, respectively, with respect to the first coupling member 31. In addition, the first fixing member 32 may be arranged on both sides of the first coupling member 31 along the third axis Z3 intersecting (or crossing) the second axis Z2. In this way, the first electrode terminal tab 30 may be formed to have an overall cross shape extending along the second axis Z2 and the third axis Z3. In such an embodiment, the position where the components along the second axis Z2 and the third axis Z3 intersect each other may correspond to the position of the first coupling member 31 formed at a relatively rear position of the first electrode terminal tab 30 along the second axis Z2. In addition, since the first fixing member 32 extends along the third axis Z3 from the first coupling member 31 arranged at the rear position of the first electrode terminal tab 30 along the second axis Z2, the first electrode terminal tab 30 having a cross shape extending along the second axis Z2 and the third axis Z3 may be formed.
[0069] The first lead W1 (see, for example, Figure 3) may be connected to the first electrode tab 30. For example, the first lead wire W1 may be connected to one end of the first lead-out member 35 of the first electrode tab 30. The first lead wire W1 may extend along the third axis Z3 from one end of the first lead-out member 35 extending along the second axis Z2. For example, unlike the first electrode tab 30 which includes (or is) a thin metal plate as a whole, the first lead wire W1 may have a form of a ductile wire (e.g., a malleable wire) to provide a convenient connection with an external device.
[0070] See also Fig. 9 , the second electrode terminal tab 40 may be arranged on the second surface 10b of the battery cell 10. The second electrode terminal tab 40 may be formed to have substantially the same shape as the first electrode terminal tab 30. For example, in one embodiment of the present disclosure, the second electrode terminal tab 40 may include: a second connecting member 41, including a second connecting portion 41a connected to the second surface 10b of the battery cell 10; a second lead-out member 45, extending from the second connecting member 41 along one direction of the second axis Z2 to the outside of the battery cell 10 beyond the second surface 10b of the battery cell 10; a second fixing member 42, extending from the second connecting member 41 along the third axis Z3, and formed on both sides (e.g., opposite sides) of the second connecting member 41; and a second anti-rotation member 43, extending from the second connecting member 41 in a direction opposite to the one direction of the second axis Z2.
[0071] In various embodiments of the present disclosure, the first electrode tab 30 and the second electrode tab 40 may be formed to have different orientations and / or to have different shapes. For example, the first electrode tab 30 and the second electrode tab 40 may be arranged on the first surface 10a and the second surface 10b of the battery cell 10 in different orientations, respectively, while being formed to have substantially the same shape. For example, the first electrode tab 30 and the second electrode tab 40 may be formed to have an overall cross shape while extending in directions intersecting (or crossing) each other, and may be arranged in different orientations while being arranged on the first surface 10a and the second surface 10b of the battery cell 10, respectively.
[0072] In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the second electrode tab 40 may have substantially the same shape as the first electrode tab 30, and may be in the same orientation as the first electrode tab 30. Technical details of the second coupling member 41, the second fixing member 42, the second lead-out member 45, and the second anti-rotation member 43 of the second electrode tab 40, and the second lead W2 connected to the second electrode tab 40 may be the same as those of the first coupling member 31, the first fixing member 32, the first lead-out member 35, and the first anti-rotation member 33 of the first electrode tab 30, and the first lead W1 connected to the first electrode tab 30, and therefore, repeated description thereof will be omitted.
[0073] Fig.10 1 is a view illustrating a battery according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. The battery may include a battery cell 10 and a first electrode tab 130 arranged on a first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. The first electrode tab 130 may include a first coupling member 131 in which a first coupling portion 131a coupled to the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 is formed. In this embodiment, the first coupling portion 131a may include: a main coupling portion 1311 having a convex arc shape toward the first lead-out member 135 and extending in one direction of the second axis Z2; and a secondary coupling portion 1312 having a convex arc shape toward the first anti-rotation member 133 and extending in a direction opposite to the one direction of the second axis Z2. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the main coupling portion 1311 and the secondary coupling portion 1312 may be formed to have a convex arc shape in a direction toward the first lead-out member 135 and a convex arc shape in a direction toward the first anti-rotation member 133, respectively, and may respectively include convex arc portions that at least partially face each other.
[0074] In order to respond to an external impact acting from the first lead-out member 135 extending to the outside of the battery cell 10 in a direction along the second axis Z2, the main connecting portion 1311 can disperse the stress caused by the external impact along an arc protruding toward the first lead-out member 135, thereby preventing the first electrode tab 130 from being peeled off from the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 due to the external impact, and the impact resistance of the first electrode tab 130 to the external impact can be improved.
[0075] In order to respond to an external impact from the first anti-rotation member 133 extending in a direction opposite to the one direction of the second axis Z2, the secondary connecting portion 1312 can disperse the stress caused by the external impact along an arc protruding toward the first anti-rotation member 133, thereby preventing the first electrode tab 130 from being peeled off from the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10 due to the external impact, and the impact resistance of the first electrode tab 130 to the external impact can be improved.
[0076] The main connection part 1311 and the secondary connection part 1312 may be formed to have arcs protruding toward the first lead-out member 135 and the first anti-rotation member 133 extending in opposite directions from the first connection member 131, respectively, and thus, the impact resistance to external impact acting from the first lead-out member 135 and the first anti-rotation member 133 may be improved. In this way, the main connection part 1311 and the secondary connection part 1312 may be formed to have arcs protruding toward the first lead-out member 135 and the first anti-rotation member 133 formed at positions opposite to the first connection member 131, respectively, and thus, may have arcs in opposite directions, respectively. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the main connection part 1311 and the secondary connection part 1312 may be formed to have different lengths. In such an embodiment, the main connection part 1311 and the secondary connection part 1312 are formed to have different lengths, which may mean that the total length of the main connection part 1311 extending along its arc may be different from the total length of the secondary connection part 1312 extending along its arc. As described below, the main coupling portion 1311 and the secondary coupling portion 1312 may be formed into arcs having different curvatures, respectively. For example, the arc of the main coupling portion 1311 may have a first curvature, and the arc of the secondary coupling portion 1312 may have a second curvature. In such an embodiment, the length of the arc according to the first curvature forming the main coupling portion 1311 may be different from the length of the arc according to the second curvature forming the secondary coupling portion 1312, and the length of the arc of the main coupling portion 1311 may be greater than the length of the arc of the secondary coupling portion 1312. Since the main coupling portion 1311 receives an external impact on the first lead-out member 135 extending to the outside of the battery cell 10, the main coupling portion 1311 may be formed to have a length greater than the length of the secondary coupling portion 1312 for receiving an external impact on the first anti-rotation member 133 arranged inside the battery cell 10, and the main coupling portion 1311 may provide a relatively higher bonding strength than the bonding strength provided by the secondary coupling portion 1312.
[0077] The main connection part 1311 and the secondary connection part 1312 may be formed to have arcs according to different curvatures, respectively. For example, the main connection part 1311 may have an arc according to a first curvature, and the secondary connection part 1312 may have an arc according to a second curvature. In such an embodiment, the first curvature of the main connection part 1311 may be less than the second curvature of the secondary connection part 1312. For example, the main connection part 1311 may be formed to be flatter than the secondary connection part 1312. In other words, the first radius of curvature of the arc of the main connection part 1311 may be greater than the second radius of curvature of the arc of the secondary connection part 1312. Since the main connection part 1311 receives an external impact on the first lead-out member 135 extending to the outside of the battery cell 10, the main connection part 1311 may be formed to be wider along the third axis Z3 than the secondary connection part 1312 for receiving an external impact on the first anti-rotation member 133 arranged inside the battery cell 10. In addition, since the first curvature of the main coupling portion 1311 is smaller than the second curvature of the secondary coupling portion 1312, the main coupling portion 1311 can be formed in a relatively flat shape along the third axis Z3 to be wider than the secondary coupling portion 1312. Accordingly, for an external impact including an external torsional moment, the bonding strength provided by the main coupling portion 1311 can be relatively higher than the bonding strength provided by the secondary coupling portion 1312.
[0078] In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the width of the main connection part 1311 along the third axis Z3 may be greater than the width of the secondary connection part 1312. For example, the width of the main connection part 1311 along the third axis Z3 may be greater than the width of the first lead-out member 135 or the first anti-rotation member 133, and the width of the secondary connection part 1312 along the third axis Z3 may be less than the width of the first lead-out member 135 or the first anti-rotation member 133.
[0079] The second electrode tab 140 may be disposed on the second surface 10b of the battery cell 10 and may have substantially the same structure as the first electrode tab 130 disposed on the first surface 10a of the battery cell 10. Fig.10 As shown, the second connection portion 141a connected to the second surface 10b of the battery cell 10 may include a main connection portion 1411 and a secondary connection portion 1412, and the main connection portion 1411 and the secondary connection portion 1412 have corresponding convex arcs of a second lead-out member 145 and a second anti-rotation member 143 extending toward a direction along the second axis Z2 and a direction opposite to the one direction of the second axis Z2, respectively. The main connection portion 1411 and the secondary connection portion 1412 may respectively have an arc having a first curvature and an arc having a second curvature different from the first curvature, and the length of the main connection portion 1411 along the first curvature may be different from the length of the secondary connection portion 1412 along the second curvature. Fig.10, reference numerals 141, 132, and 142 denote a second coupling member, a fixing member formed on the first electrode tab 130, and a fixing member formed on the second electrode tab 140, respectively.
[0080] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided a battery having an electrode tab connected to an electrode of a battery cell and having improved anti-impact characteristics.
[0081] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, since the coupling portion for forming the coupling between the battery cell and the electrode tab is formed to have a convex arc shape toward the lead-out piece extending from the electrode of the battery cell to form the charging and discharging path of the battery cell, the coupling portion can prevent stress from being concentrated on any one part of the coupling portion, while gradually propagating stress from an external impact from the convex curved portion of the coupling portion to both ends of the coupling portion. Accordingly, the fracture of the coupling portion due to stress concentration or the peeling thereof can be alleviated or prevented.
[0082] It should be understood that the embodiments described herein should be considered in a descriptive sense and not for the purpose of limitation. The description of features or aspects in each embodiment should generally be considered to be applicable to other similar features or aspects in other embodiments. Although one or more embodiments have been described with reference to the drawings, it will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
